We've been clients of Weldrick Animal Hospital for several years, bringing both our cat and dog along. We can't express enough gratitude for the outstanding care provided by this clinic.

Unfortunately, we recently had to say goodbye to our dog, Alma. Throughout this difficult time, we were deeply touched by the clinic's exceptional bedside manner and their unwavering efforts to support us.

The team at Weldrick Animal Hospital performed an extensive oral surgery on our dog. She responded well to the procedure. Regained her energy and playfulness within two to three days. The team welcomed her back for a follow-up visit and confirmed that her mouth was healing well.

The male receptionist could use a little more customer service and not have snarly commentary. Do better specifically if clients need to repeat themselves and he is the person responsible for intake. Don’t think I ever met a person that enjoys repeating themselves over and over and over.

If you are on a budget they will seem like a great choice for dental, the receptionist is very friendly for the most part, i cant speak of the doctor as i never had a chance to meet him.

While doing my research they seemed to be a very good clinic. But it was brought to my attention that they have had incidents with the cvo the governing body of veterinarians in ontario and lost. Upon reading these court hearings and the accusations and situations all being around anesthesia and surgery i was rightfully concerned but still on a budget and a timeline for a broken tooth. So i figured i would try and give them some degree of the benefit of-the doubt and let them convince me that they have taken steps since then and ease my concern, and as one who has worked in the veterinary field in the past i at least have enough knowledge to know things happen and identify the why to some degree (and use this knowledge to determine if the answers on how things have been improved would make me feel comfortable enough to risk my dog), doesn’t make them ok but means they shouldn’t be held against the person forever if they are actively taking steps to correct them. The people who suffered losses due to these may not feel the same way of course.

Back to the story at hand i tried asking them over the phone about the situation and what steps they had taken and got some very dismissive answers that quickly led to them asking if i just want to cancel my appointment and saying that they are just going to cancel it, now at this time i still wanted answers and still budget and timeline so i asked them to hold my appointment (was also difficult to get an appointment within a reasonable time as they book fast and far out) the following day i made arrangements to go out and see the place in person so i called them up and asked if i coukd come by and see the facility and go through the procedure and what steps they take and how they’ve improved over the last few years if they could set aside even just 10min of the doctors time for this. And before i even got to say any of that they said “sounds like your still unsure so im just going to cancel your appointment”. Also after i did finally get to say what i wanted to say i was told the doctor would never go for that and would not sit down and talk with me. So this tells me that they would rather cancel my appointment than assuade my concerns as a pet parent.makes me think maybe they haven’t actually taken any steps and its just a roll of the dice if there are going to be any more losses, because if the situation was reversed and i had that hanging over my head i would want to make sure that the pet parents are aware that things are different that mistakes based on those listed in the hearings wont happen again and to reassure my clientele so that i have one that can write good honest reviews stating the opposite of this like something along the lines of addressing the hearing but in a positive light.

Overall was extremely disappointed in them and how the interaction finished. And i cant in good conscience recommend them. The only reason its 2* is the receptionist was very polite and helpful through the whole process up to that point and i didn’t actually go through with any kind of appointment to say they are for sure a 1* facility.

Very decent and knowledgeable doctor. His assistant is also knowledgeable and attentive.

Great.price and took very good care of my little dog.even washed his bed when he had an accident.

Brought my 6 y/o Shih Tzu for dental cleaning last year in March. I was able to get her an appointment within a months time. The procedure went fine however, my dog did not recover as expected. Her energy was low and wasn't back to her usual self after a few weeks. It was very difficult to reach anyone as I wanted to bring her back for a check up (this is after the 10-14 day check up post cleaning and extractions).
No one got back to my messages. So I ended up bringing my dog to a different animal hospital and I'm so happy I did.

My main issue with Weldrick is that they are too busy with many patients but not enough staff. I'm sure the vet and the tech truly care for their patients, however, due to having too many patients, they're not able to provide the best care.

For instance, they do pre-procedure bloodwork and my dog's kidney values were elevated. The Dr.said it could be due to a tooth infection. Which is a possibility. But he did not do his due diligence and bother to re-check her bloodwork post extraction to check if the cause of the elevated kidney values was actually the tooth infection. It was not caused by a tooth infection.

This is why my dog wasn't recovering as expected.
She had an actute kidney infection and Weldrick didn't bother to follow up. I only found this out after bringing my dog to a different clinic and the experience was vastly different. There were consistent follow ups, the vet explained the procedure in detail and the vets/admins were always responsive whenever I had concerns or questions.
My dog had another dental cleaning at the new clinic and she recovered from the procedure so much quicker compared to when she had her teeth done at Weldrick. Even when we picked her up, the techs cleaned her up so she wasn't a bloody mess like the first time at Weldrick. The pricing was slightly more expensive there but not a huge difference so the savings was not worth it for me to bring my dog to Weldrick for her initial dental cleaning and extractions.

Sadly I visited this clinic at the end of my beloved Shih Tzu’s life but the doctor and his tech were very kind and compassionate and made the last hour of my boy’s life as peaceful as possible, thank you for taking care of my Rashid today

Eugene, always friendly + efficient + professional, and dr Alex always so caring. I take my chihuahua all the way there and I live downtown Toronto. So grateful I’ve found a great vet clinic!

A friend told me about this Vet and how good they were and how reasonably priced. Talked to Yeogene a number of times and he was so helpful. Great customer service and great pricing. Will definitely be going back to see Dr. Dariy and would highly recommend.

Really great staff. My dog needed 2 teeth removed and they were so helpful. They were upfront about costs and the process. Really reasonable pricing and the only place that would actually give me a range of prices over the phone. They were able to give him some of his vaccines too. I'm really glad I listened to the other positive reviews.

I drove in from Burlington to bring my 4 year old mini Australian in for a dental cleaning.
The whole team was incredible to work with. The vet went over all the details so I was well informed and the rest of the team was very responsive via email and over the phone and made booking and keeping me updated a breeze.
They took good care of my sweet pup, pricing was amazing and check out those sparkly white teeth!
Will certainly be coming back here for any further dental work that she may need.

They treat my 3 cats with the utmost care. The staff (Admins and Vet) are excellent. They have full facilities to perform X-rays, ultrasounds, surgeries and dental cleanings. I love that they do everything in-house, and charge half the price of Toronto vets. They’re truly amazing.

The vet is a scam artist. Not only did he hurt my poor poor dog, but he overcharged me for unnecessary x-rays and had zero sympathy. Can't believe this guy is even licensed to be handling animals.

I HATE TO RATE THIS WHAT I AM, BUT IT IS COMPLETELY DESERVED.

I bring my two cats to this location, basically only because it is closer to where I live - and I have always been treated nicely by the staff.
However I am extremely and utterly disappointed in this location.

One of my cats was booked months ago, for a appointment in November for updated shots etc. They assured me that day when booking the appointment, that they would for sure be re opened (after being closed for months for unknown reasons) on time to see my cat for her appointment.

Here we are, tomorrow is December 1st and MY CAT STILL HAS NOT BEEN SEEN. I have called this location numerous times within the last month assuming they have to be opened by now. WRONG - NO ANSWER. I have left messages, no response.

I have called the Richmond Hill Animal hospital more than once this month (bless their souls) and even got them to reach out to the Weldrick Animal Hospital on my behalf through email to request my cats files so at least the Richmond Hill Animal Hospital could see what shots my cat is in need of. NO RESPONSE.

I just called the Richmond Hill Animal hospital again today to see if the Weldrick Animal hospital had finally sent over my cats files to them. NOPE.

What does one do in a situation like this? How irresponsible and unprofessional of the Weldrick Animal Hospital. As a pet owner, it is so important to keep up with your pets health and needs but thats nearly impossible to do when your vet who you thought you could rely on, wont even do you the honour or retuning a simple call or email to send over files.

WHEN ARE YOU RE OPENING? ARE YOU EVEN RE OPENING?
You should have set your patients up for success and help prior to leaving them in the dark.

I would rate this zero stars if I could. This review has nothing to do with the vet techs that work here, but rather the veterinarian that runs this clinic. I contacted them in the spring of this year to book dental surgery (full mouth extraction) for my cat. I was told to call back since they were catching up on previous clients and couldn't book me at the time. Weeks go by and I call back only to find out that the clinic is going to be closed for four months due to the vet going on leave. The vet tech I spoke to told me that they would be open November 1 and booked me in for November 19. November 1 comes around and they still aren't open. I left two voice mails in the course of two weeks, both of which went unanswered. It was only today, November 17, that I received a text message from Dr. Dariy telling me that they will not be able to do the surgery as they are still not open but he hopes they are open "sometime in November". The fact that they could not even call me to tell me this, and wait two days before the appointment date is very unprofessional and astounds me. I spent four months thinking that this clinic would be open when they said they would be, booked time off work for this procedure, only to be told at the last minute that it was cancelled; meanwhile my cat's health has gotten worse. There is no date for the clinic reopening and I highly doubt that they will be open this month, or even the next. This is a vet that does not seem to care about his clients or their pets and lacks professionalism and compassion. I would not recommend this vet to anyone.

We took our dog Ella to Weldrick Animal Hospital for a Dental cleaning. I have to say it was an excellent experience. Dr. Sergiy was very informative and thorough in answering all my concerns. I also want to commend Yeogene and Ana, as they were very helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable.

I have a had many veterinary experiences, and this was one that was excellent. Highly recommend Weldrick Animal Hospital.

Did a great job cleaning and extracting our 11 year old small dogs teeth. He had to have numerous extractions. They were very kind, kept us updated and gave clear instructions.

I recently adopted a cat who had never been to the vet. I did my research and decided to go with Weldrick Animal hospital. I was very happy with the level of care they showed my cat as well as the covid safety precautions. Staff was polite, professional, and friendly. My cat was his normal self a few hours after surgery and the vet office did a follow up phone call the next day.
I wouldn't say it was cheap but knowing that my cat was going to need several things done on his first visit I purchased pet insurance beforehand.

Free vaccination for visiting more than once a year and promise to go with their testings is already ridiculously sketchy. Each visit they upsell you with garbage. One of the most dishonest and sketchy practice so far. Definitely avoid this place unless you want smooth talkers that have their eyes on your wallet.

We brought our 3 year old dog in for teeth cleaning and they did a great job! The price is very competitive compared to other vets in the city. Thank you! I would highly recommend.

I’ve been bringing my dog here for the past 5 years and I trust that Dr. Dariy and his staff have my dog’s best interest in mind.

I brought my dog here for a dental cleaning and was very satisfied with my experience. The cleaning (no extractions needed) costed around $475, which was much more affordable than the quote I received at our previous vet (around $800-$1000). The clinic was very clean and tidy and staff were very professional. I received a follow up call the next day to make sure my dog was doing well. Overall, I am very happy with my visit and I will likely go to Weldrick Animal Hospital for all my future vet care needs.

This is one of the best vets I have been too. The vet and staff are great and aren't out to get you. My dog needed dental surgery and to have 25 teeth removed. I was quoted 3-4 grand by another place and weldrick animal hospital did it for around $1200. Thank you so much guys, my dog is a different dog after the dental work and is much happier.

I had to edit my review as I realized that I mixed up vets, my apologies. This was overall a great experience, affordable prices, i went here for an abdominal scan, the staff overall was friendly and took great care of my fur baby.

After many calls and inquiries I landed on Weldrick. Not only was the intake, procedure and care tremendous, but the follow-up and kind nature of Dr. Dariy and his staff was unparalleled. I highly recommend Weldrick Animal Hospital! The staff (Dr. Dariy, Anna and other young man, sorry don't remember his name) are super friendly and informative. Hands down the most reasonably priced compared to majority of other vets! Saved A LOT of money at this office. Dr. Dariy is well worth the drive as he specializes in bulldogs. Bisha is an English Bulldog and because there are more risks with this breed, I wanted to make sure she was in good hands. I took her in recently to get spayed and stenotic nares and elongated soft palate surgery. She healed very quickly and was back to her normal self the very next day. I appreciate the call the next day after surgery to see how she was doing. I HIGHLY recommend! Thank you Weldrick Animal Hospital for everything!

Vet and staff very kind. Thorough. My vet was away and my cat needed attention. They didn't do any unnecessary tests and were patient as we were there well after closing. 3 other vets in area said they could not see me, one even said due to my not being a patient, go to an Emergency vet.

Over 11 years I have taken my dog Peanut to 5 vets in the GTA. Dr. Weldrick not only is the most affordable, he is also the most caring. When I expressed concern over how much less he charged for dental work (half the price), he simply said, "because it doesn't need to be expensive. If it cost a lot of money people won't get it done and, that will hurt the animal. " Dr. Weldrick is amazing, supportive and honest. If he feels your pet may have something out of his range of care, he is the first to admit and recommend someone who is a specialist. Thank you for being such a good vet and a true animal lover.

Weldrick Animal Hospital proved to be a positive experience for us. The doctor wears his heart on his sleeve.he truly seems to care and gives 100% of himself. The staff is personable and thorough. The space is impeccably clean. The equipment.state of the art. My little Pixel had 10 teeth removed due to resorption. She was eating 5 hours after surgery (with stitches). I have a happier more comfortable cat. Thankyou for helping her! Aside from the most ultimate experience here.the price allowed me to go ahead with surgery. ($30.00 per extraction instead of $200.00). You do the math!

Took my dog for a tooth extraction surgery. It was a delicate work since it was the lower canine tooth and my dog being a small breed, has a delicate jaw, hence the possibility of complications like jaw breakage and so on. I can say that the vet did a fantastic job judging from the short period (only a few days) it took for the dog to recover. My dog became his old bubbly self in no time!

Brought my kitties for their vaccinations and to be spayed and neutered.
Dr Sergiy was very thorough and caring with kitties during visits for their vaccinations.
The surgeries went extremely well and the boys were up and running around the next day as if nothing happened. The little girl healed really nicely and is back to normal.

Amazing staff. The young girl at the front desk is so sweet. Doctor handled my Italian greyhound Ernie amazingly. Ernie didn’t even whine for me when I left. They are very affordable and their work is great. Would highly recommend. And they call and check in w you the day after surgery.

I am writing this to thank Dr S Dariy for handling a major surgery procedure of our Samoyed which was infected with Pyometra, an infection in the uterus which could cost her life, wholeheartedly. Throughout the entire course of action from the diagnostic to the recovery inspection, Dr Dariy has demonstrated an unmatched professionalism as a Veterinary Specialist in every detail with expertise and care beyond expression. He even took pictures to show us what was removed after the surgery on his own initiative, something I rarely see as a dog owner for over four decades. I also want to thank his assistants Yeogene and Anna in conveying post surgery news on a timely basis to pacify our emotion in the waiting hours.

Our dog needed dental surgery, everything was explained in detail. Procedure, cost, and care. Staff was inviting, professional, and courteous. Follow up is to follow.

The doctor did X ray without physical examination of my dog, so he did many unnecessary X ray and charge me more than double of the first estimate.

My dog is 3 and has been on food trials most of his life to solve an allergy/skin condition. Due to this, I was unable to give him dentabone type products and he was really resistant to teeth brushing, so his back teeth got bad. I decided to look into teeth cleaning services, and start over from there- I got a quote from my vet and it was $800- shocking! I roamed the Internet for the service elsewhere that would be more affordable, which led me to Weldricks ($360). 2 vaccines and an annual heartworm shot are pre-requisites, but they were also affordable and could be administered the day of the service which made the process simple and easy.
When speaking with the vet at the drop-off, he was very attentive, even taking an interest in his skin condition and providing some recommendations.
At pick-up, my dog had some #2 accidents after being let out of the cage, and the vet assistant handled it with sensitivity; helping with the clean up and advising it’s common after anesthesia.
The end result- UNBELIEVABLE! They were restored to their natural colour. You would never know they were once in poor condition. I wasn’t expecting the results to be that profound.
Overall, I was extremely happy with the service and experience. If I lived in Richmond Hill, I would enlist them as my vet. I just got a sense they’re in the business for the right reasons, and I could trust their advice.

If you seek poor attention to your pet and huge final bill, you are in a perfect place! I took my new adopted dog to this clinic because they advertised there is no fee for first visit and we live very close by. My dog suffered from diarrhea and limping on his left leg but vet insist on X-Ray without any physical exam.he told me it will cost me $250 but it end up to more than $530 due to several unnecessary X-Rays from front paws! The wort part was that they terrified us by false diagnose of a tumor in my poor dog knee, something that cost me extra hundreds box for specialist and other clinical exam to prove that my dog limping is because of an old injury! I believe that the only thing that is really matter in Weldrick Animal Hospital is only money!

I had Luke, my French Bulldog for only 3 weeks when his 3rd eyelid popped out. He was 13 weeks old and I was in panic. It happened during the weekend and although the office was closed I got immediate responses to my emails. Luke was seen 1st thing Monday morning and did Cherry Eye surgery on Tuesday. Staff and doctor were very caring and I felt that my pup was in good hands. I called several times during the day and they were always nice to me. The surgery went well and my boy was already in play mode by night time. The following day I received a call from them just to check how he was doing. He had 2 follow up visits, the recovery went well and Luke is great!
I highly recommend Weldrick Animal Hospital, especially if you're a frenchie's mom or dad!

4. Wouldnt even give me physical copy of my dogs xrays, WHICH I PAID FOR. Was told that he would email them the next day but didnt. I had to call and remind him.

Backstory:
Took my dog here for the first time because he was limping on 3 legs. Wasn't sure what was wrong. Upon arrival, my dog barked at the doctor when he entered the room. Totally normal, as he isn't fond of strangers, and naturally an anxious and vocal dog. The doctors first reaction was to turn around and get a muzzle. NO INTRODUCTION whatsoever. The doctor was very rough with my dog when trying to examine his leg. He said we would need to sedate my dog to get xrays and from there, we can determine what was wrong. We agreed, and my poor dog was terribly anxious and uncomfortable the ENTIRE time. After a stressful 30 minutes pass by, we were finally finished. He wouldn't give us a physical copy of the xrays WHICH I PAID FOR. He told us they would be sent via email tomorrow. We didnt even recieve them the next day, we had to call him and remind him.

The experience was stressful and I felt we were NOT in good hands.

Dr. Sergey’s office is clean, organized and has nice reception staff. In addition his vet services are fair and competitive. Gives good advice for the well-being of my dog.

I had originally booked here for my dog’s dental cleaning and though staff was friendly on the phone, I emailed the gmail address that was provided to give our dogs documents such as vaccinations and waited for a reply. Followed up twice by email with no response that they received documents. Called the number and the person on the phone confirmed they received my email so I asked for them to confirm via email. Again no response. I was really disappointed and decided not to go with them since it would have been a very far drive with no guarantee I would be sent back because they didn’t have everything they needed. I felt if they weren’t responsive and professional, I wouldn’t trust my dog in their care. I booked with our local vet who are a bit more expensive but much more professional and responsive.

Dr and staff are AMAZING. The doctor was very caring and doing very good job. I traveled to come to them for my senior dog to do the teeth. The doctor is very knowledgeable about pets, he has been the best help to me and they will get my business.

Sergiy is a very knowledgeable, and helpful vet. He has helped me to have 1 cat neutered, have another's eye infection healed, surgery for a cat that was experiencing frequent urinary blockages, and this morning he kindly, and compassionately helped me say goodbye to a beloved senior cat. His practice is very clean, and well organized. He also always has a staff of extremely helpful people, and I've always felt well taken care of when coming here. Furthermore, his prices are very reasonable, and he does everything he can to ensure your pets are cared for.

I took my Yorkshire terrier: Mia for teeth cleaning and I was very happy with the services. Price is right and quality is good. My dog recovered well and I appreciated the next day follow up call.
I highly recommend this vet. Thank you for the super good cleaning and care of my beloved dog. I will definitely come back.

I took my 2 doggies to get their vaccinations. That is the first time my fur babies did not try to bite the vet. The dr was so attentive and caring. I really felt comfortable and I booked their cleaning too.

This veterinary clinic is amazing! I am so thankful they were able to help my dog. My dog needed dental work and the first quote I got was over $1500. My dog had to have 12 teeth pulled and it was just under $1000. Anyone looking for more affordable dental for there pet, go here! I didn't even notice how much my dogs bad teeth were effecting him until after he had his teeth extracted and heeled up. His face is slimmer and he's so much more goofy, happy and cuddly. I feel bad I didn't get the work done sooner.
