We made an appointment and had good interactions with the receptionist, Bonnie. She was able to answer all my questions and was very helpful in general. They had a 50% off discount for the first checkup. But we ended up cancelling the appointment so not sure what the actual veterinary service is like.
Super professional and friendly staff. Really felt like they cared about my puppy after she was fixed. Dr Juliet and her team really went the the extra mile after her surgery to stay in contact via email to ensure Ava was comfortable and I was sure with medication adjustment. Highly recommend
This animal hospital has zero knowledge about cat friendly practices. Our cat had a rare fungus infection that they had never treated so we did research on our own, their recommendations were against all we found and what we discussed with other vets (our cat has lived in Colombia and Chicago so we reached out to his previous vets). We switch to the cat clinic which offer a treatment path consistent with what the other vets had said but in opposite direction to what the vets at Wellesley animal Hospital said. As soon as they got the request for the medical history from the cat clinic they refused to give us the prescription we needed for our cat (our cat has lymphoma and needs Prednisolone for life, they told us we were going to get the prescription and when got the request said that it was no necessary to give him this medication, which is not true). They got our cat for 30 minutes while our cat screamed and they couldn’t get a blood sample to do the blood work necessary. At the cat clinic it took then 15 minutes and got all the blood sample they needed for the blood work. If you have a cat we highly recommend not using this vet, go to the cat clinic. If your concern is price, cat clinic has blood work for 165+ tax while Wellesley animal hospital has it for 200+ tax. Our cat has several conditions so we have met multiple vets in three countries and never encounter such bad veterinaries like in this animal hospital.
The staff there are really helpful. They provide me with constant updates and photos of my pooch. They treat my pets really gentle and friendly. Great communication as well
Absolutely terrible! THEY SHOULD NOT BE AN OPERATING BUSINESS! They returned my 4month old who went in able to eat and drink and WALK came back to us in DYING condition back to me and did nothing for her! They robbed us of 700$ and said it was a down deposit! Not to mention how sketchy the location is! I would NOT bring ur pets in to this vet! They are even refusing to send my pets info over to another vet who is trying to fix their mess! They will be getting sued. Not to mention they have cut my fir babies nails WAY to short and WITHOUT my go ahead. I highly suggest if your thinking of bringing ur pet here dont. Not worth loosing ur pet and ur money to people who do nothing for ur animal
Super impressed with our experience to date with Wellesley Animal hospital. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a vet in Toronto! They always go above and beyond and always follow up and check in on our pup after visits to see how he's doing. Would highly recommend this great clinic!
If there was a no star option, thats what I would have picked. My dog did very poorly under their care. First rule is do no harm. They overcharge substantially. If you love your pet, find someone outside of the city centre. I have wanted to get this off my chest for a while. I don't write reviews.
So grateful to everyone at the hospital for helping my furbaby at the most critical time. Staff is welcoming, understanding and compassionate. Dr. Barrientos took time to explain everything that was going on with Rogue as well as set up a recovery plan. I trust them thoroughly and cannot fully express my gratitude. Thank you.
This place is Amazing I've brought my pets there a few times always had exceptional service. The staff is more than courteous and helpful anytime I need it There's the only place I can get the food for my cat Overall a great experience I would recommend to anybody taking your pets there in safe hands
The staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital are the best. They take the time to explain everything in detail and make sure you understand whats happening with your furrbaby
Wellesley Animal Hospital provides professional services. When I brought my cat Max there, they are patient with all my questions and concerns. The doctor and nurses explain every single step of the procedure and ensure that my cat and I were comfortable.
Vet and assistant was very friendly. At our first appointment, my lil pup was in good hands as they were very professional yet loving and caring wirh her. They gave me recommendations and advice which i really needed. Thanks again! See you guys again soon.
Friendly and welcoming staff, great service and vets take their time explaining the issues with our pets and give theIr best advice. Very professional!
Wish we could give zero star for the service that we received today didn't know humans at animal hospital will behave like animals too. Don't trust your furry babies with these inhumane people. Find yourself a vet who genuinely care, not desperate and steal your money all in the name of vaccination
Mari is a great Groomer and is amazing with my dog, she is patient and ensures that he is well taken care of. The Team at the Wellesley Animal Hospital is great.
I have a senior cat who had been traumatized before we adopted her. We provide her with a safe and loving home and over the years she learned to trust us. However, when we take her to the vet, she gets stressed and won't let anyone touch her. Wellesley Animal Hospital is the only place they know how to handle her. They make all possible ways to comfort my cat and me and take very good care of her. Thank you for being so patient and understanding. I highly recommend this vet clinic to anyone, especially with special needs pets like mine.
My dog has been here for almost four years, the experiences were always nice until today. We got the worst treat by the staff named Catherine. She was very rude and careless to my dog. We had a return visit for blood work, she didn’t ask anything about recent updates. After I told her that my dog is stressful, she seems no love and attentions to him, and asked me to go away rudely and pulled my dog hardly to inside. After the test done, she didn’t say anything again. No report no care a bit. I will report the abuse to my dog to City Animal Service and College of Veterinarians and not go again!
Excellent experience, I would recommend Wellesley Animal Hospital to everyone who loves their pet. Dr. Barrientos is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. Great staff and very hygiene hospital.
I’ve been taking my cat and dog to Wellesley Animal Hospital for years now. The vets do a great job looking after the health of my pets, and always explain treatment costs and ask for consent before proceeding.
The staff and vets here are wonderful. Really friendly and genuinely care about your pets. We always have a great experience and our most recent visit was no exception. They took such good care of my sick cat and she’s feeling so much better!
I started going to WAH when they opened almost 15yrs ago and they used to be the best. However since they moved to their larger location the quality of service has plummeted. The front & boutique staff are in a constant state of being overwhelmed and seem to change roles weekly - it feels like nobody is managing the site overall or with any confidence or consistency. Their prices have also skyrocketed, yet the quality of services seem to be reducing and taking longer as well. The left hand clearly doesn't talk to right hand at WAH. I am actively looking for a new vet.
Excellent facility. The Vet Techs and Dr. Barrientos provide exceptional care for my dog and our visits are always informative. I'm totally confident that my dog receives the best possible care at Wellesley Animal Hospital.
Wonderful staff and wonderful place. I've been bringing my cat here since 2017 and they've always been very friendly, professional, and helpful, especially for any emergencies that come up as she gets older. The attention to detail and communication with clients is always great, and I've always felt like they do the absolute most possible to take care of their patients.
I'd like to give a big thank you to Dr. Berriento for being so helpful, empathetic and kind with my Milo today. He went above and beyond not only to provide care but to give us some comfort. It was such a relief to finally have an idea of his condition thanks to all of you. Highly recommend!
My cat, Sugar, has been having problems for a while and had to change Vets cuz of it. The staff have been amazing, the nurses are so friendly and the Vets knew how to treat my cat and took their time to sit with me and talk about her condition multiple times.
My two favorite things from my experience with them is they go through few of options with you (can be helpful budget wise) and they let you be in the examination room with your pet, something that was very hard to find these days.
Sugar is recovering now and hopefully stays this way!
I popped in one day, my chihuahua in my arms having trouble breathing, knowing tbey arent an After the initial shock “wtf is with this guy? ” Passed, action happened, and within minutes, i was reassured, Manuel was getting tthe assistance he needed, and at the end of the day i didn't end up feeling like i was paying for the vets jacuzzi. I would recommend this wonderful group.
I registered their Santa Photo shoot today at 10: 15 and literally they called me at 10: 05 saying it was cancelled due to Covid worsening situation. I totally understand that for Covid. However, it's a decision you made and not any government emergency state that happened just now, you should at least give me call 30min or 1 hour earlier as a courtesy especially in this bad heavy snow weather for people coming all the way there. Then my friend who has the appointment right after me at 10: 30 didn't even receive anything, and she called them at 10: 26am to confirm the situation. They told her the decision was made just know and didn't even apologize. Apparently they have a very interesting time concept for "just now". It is definitely understandable staffs are really busy at vet hospitals, but if you have time to do Santa photo shoot, please organize it well.
Every single person at this office is amazing! We adopted a doggo with heartworm, and Wellesley Animal Hospital has been so incredibly kind and helpful. I've had many questions about the heartworm disease, the medication, the process, even questions on the changes to expect to our dog's lifestyle, and every single time we've had the chance to get in touch with the hospital, they've been extremely quick to respond with thorough and professional responses. Dr. Fiona takes care of our dog, and gives us so much information and comfort. We really appreciate the way she goes above and beyond for our dog's care. Kat and everyone else at the hospital has shown us so much passion and respect for the animals as well as the work they do. We are in such good hands with the team at Wellesley. Thank you all!
Coming here for an emergency for my puppy, because my vet was fully booked, I was surprised to find a very professional and attentive to detail staff. Thank you!
I take my senior cat to the Wellesley Animal Hospital and Dr. Tara is wonderful! She always take the time to patiently explain things to me and is compassionate, honest and attentive. I completely trust her with my cat!
I really like that I can refill my cat’s medication online + manage her appointments. The front desk staff are always responsive and helpful.
I was happy with the experience. They completed the check-up faster because I only allowed an hour before my next booked thing and they accommodated. The Dr.called me to tell me everything that was checked and also advise on few things. She was very inquisitive and I felt like she truly cared for my dog.
It’s a good clinic overall, but way too expensive! Also, they are not accommodating at all. I told many times I couldn’t bring my pet before 5pm due to my work and they charged me $15 because I’ve arrived 15min late even though I called in to tell them I was running late on that day. Any person who lives or works in downtown Toronto would understand that traffic at this time of the day sometimes is hard. Anyways, they also push and add a lot of unnecessary treatments, so make sure you check and consider asking a second opinion before making any major decision.
I took my 1 year old golden retriever for vaccines and physical examination. After Haru was done, Dr. Fiona called me to tell me her findings in detail. She also answered my questions with patience and that's what I really liked about her. She really made me feel comfortable and I felt that I could really trust her with Haru.
After Haru got her vaccines, she was panting a lot so I called them and they told me to come in quickly for some benadryl. They also kept her for 15 minutes to monitor her. I really appreciated their fast response and action to make sure Haru was okay.
One of the reasons why I switched my vet was because they didn't really care to explain nor call for follow up when Haru was having issues. So I was looking for a clinic or vet that would take their time to answer or explain my concerns thoroughly without rushing. Even though Haru was only in for vaccines, I'm so happy that Haru was handled by Dr. Fiona and her team.
I've taken 3 of my pets to Wellesley Animal Hospital over the years and they are consistently remarkable. The vets and vet techs are detailed, thorough, communicative, and kind. I always leave feeling like I've had a wonderful customer experience. Would highly recommend to anyone in search of a high-quality vet!
Very professional! Doctors and nurses are patience to help with concerns, even though for tiny little questions. Not pushy to sell products, recommended reliable tips to take care of my elder dog. Pretty good experience!
Thank you Wellesley Animal Hospital for always providing such a great experience for our dachshund Clementine. She actually LOVES going to the vet and seeing all the amazing staff. She just got spayed and I couldn’t recommend them enough- they provided many updates, answered all my crazy dog mom questions and didn’t charge us extra when was surprised us all by actually being in heat. 10/10 vet service, 10/10 staff. Best vet in Toronto!
We brought our bunny Mochi (3 months old) here and was taken good care by Dr. Ma. She did a thorough wellness examination on Mochi, answered all of our questions in the call, and provided us with a detailed list of care guides, veggie lists, and neuter options. Highly recommend Wellesley Animal Hospital and Dr. Ma:)
My puppy received her spay surgery and she did great with flying colours! All due to the care the team at Wellsley Hospital provided. They make sure to explain the aftercare and follow up with emails to ask how the patient is doing. The staff usually ensures to book follow ups to make sure any ailments or illnesses have been addressed correctly. The Covid-19 safety precautions were done very well during the pandemic and continue to be a safe place for myself and for my pet.
I've been thrilled by the care and service so far. The vet I saw (Dr. Fiona) clearly loves her job and was delightful and extremely thorough. Very happy with the way they run things here.
I am a first-time cat owner who recently took my cat Chloe here. I initially called because my cat had some eye irritation (which mostly cleared up the day of the appointment). The staff were very responsive and booked an appointment for me the next day. I have a very anxious (former) rescue cat who doesn't like strangers, especially the vet. Unfortunately, we could not complete all of her check-up due to my cat's behavior. This made me feel awful, as I would not want any of their staff to be injured as a a result of my cat's behavior. I sincerely appreciate Wellesley Animal Hospital's patience (especially Dr. Yu) in dealing with my cat. They prescribed her some anti-anxiety medication to take before her next appointment. I hope my cat will be less anxious next time so she can complete her check-up. Nevertheless, I would still recommend Wellesley Animal Hospital. They were very kind and professional!
I just moved and was looking for a new vet, Wellesley Animal Hospital was a GREAT find! From the initial contact to bringing in my cat, the front staff were so friendly and patiently answered all my questions. The doctor was clear, kind and professional. And the post-visit follow-up communication was great as well. Many thanks!
I loved brining my cat here. The only reason I left was because we ended up moving, but they were always super friendly and helpful in regards to any appointments that needed to be booked, dietary question, or just answering my general questions. They were on the more pricey side of vets in Toronto though, maybe that’s just because I didn’t have pet insurance and my cat needed a super expensive surgery, but even so my cat had a complication during surgery and needed to end up being hospitalized at another hospital because they didn’t have the capabilities to monitor her over night. All in all it’s not a bad place for mid-city pet care though.
This Animal Hospital was recommended over the Downtown Animal hospital. What a huge mistake. From day one the staff treated Enzo (my puppy) and myself like a inconvenience, in other words we're too busy and don't need anymore patients. I overlooked receptionist frown and ignored her dismissive demeanour. Enzo has a rash on his lower abdominal area that is spreading up his chest. I brought him with me to show the staff just how bad it was. They told me in tone lacking zero empathy that two weeks is the earliest they could see Enzo. The Emergency Vet in Yorkville won't treat him because his not dead yet Re: doesn't meet the triage criteria. I booked the appointment with Wellesley and prayed he would be ok. I work full time 9-5 on Fridays (the day of the appointment) I could not get the day off only take a half day. I was running late to the appointment so I texted them -no reply. I called and spoke to the receptionist who gleefully told me it was cancelled. I was upset so she put me on hold for 10 minutes only to tell me Dr. Toro (sic) cancelled the appointment. Enzo's rash is getting worse, but it seems the Veterinarians at the Wellesley Animal Hospital are too busy to care when they can choose and pick their patients without remorse or compassion. I have never experienced such cold hearted and mean uncaring behaviour before. My dog is seriously ill and they cancelled our appointment because I was 15 minutes late. I guess Dr. Toros (I have no idea if that's the spelling because I never met him) must be looking forward to their cottage in the Muskoakas
The staff at Wellesley Animal Hospital are kind, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Our dog always leaves with a smile, which is no small feat for a vet visit!
Dr. Emily and staff were great when I brought my pup in! We recently moved from another vet office and the transition was smooth and seamless. They kept me informed through the whole process (as I could not accompany my pup into the clinic due to Covid). Thank you so much!
WAH is amazing and I highly recommend if you live downtown Toronto! I've taken my two fur babies to them for over 4 years and they always make both me and my cats feel welcome and comfortable. The brand new location is beautiful, although the entrance is a little tricky to find the first time. All the staff are wonderful but I have to give a special thank you to Amie and Dr. Ma for taking such great care of my girls!
The entire team at Wellesley Animal Hospital were exceptional at treating Fitzgerald, my foster dog. They worked diligently to squeeze him in so he could get the care he so desperately needed. I've been to a lot of Vet clinics over the years and I was impressed with the staff and highly recommend them.
We've had nothing but great experiences during our visits to Wellesley Animal Hospital. The staff are very knowledgable and go out of their way to help their patients. We've been to the clinic for both emergency and routine visits and in all cases they've been honest and up front about what the treatment plan is, what is necessary for my dog, and what the total cost will be. I'm very thankful to have found Wellesley Animal Hospital!
I will not be sending my dog or my new puppy to Wellesley Animal Hospital again. I called first thing on a Saturday morning and requested an appointment for my Labrador who couldn't sit or lie down and was in obvious pain for hours. They wouldn't take me in. More, later as the symptoms continued, I called again and asked if they could please see my dog. The receptionist said they had already taken two additional appointment requests earlier and couldn't fit me in. I mean, are you for real? ! I contacted them the moment they opened and was refused an appointment. Then later to find they accepted two other patients and couldn't fit me in. Totally unacceptable and awful. Instead, I visited Yonge-Davenport Animal Hospital and they were absolutely wonderful, accommodating, and will be returning there!
I am very happy that I was able to get the amazing support for my dog and myself from the professional staff at this clinic. The time that was spent with me and my dog Roxy has been incredible. I took my dog there for her bloody vomiting and diarrhea, and I was able to get my dog checked out again for the next 2 days with them. My dog was very happy to see them each time and just walked away with them wagging the tail:) each time I took her there (forgetting all about her symptoms). I was able to ask all my questions and get complete answers to them before I leave (staff have been very patient with my anxiety and repeated questions). As a dog lover I advise this place to any pet owner. Not to forget mentioning that their costs are very reasonable compared to other places too. Thank you to all the staffs.
Amazing vet clinic that truly encapsulates what it means to love the work that you do and love the animals that you care for. Wellesley Animal Hospital's vets and assistants have been taking care of our kitten, Olive, since we first adopted him over a year and a half ago. They never pressure us into unnecessary purchases or shots, but make helpful recommendations and suggestions, and are always available when we need them. The vets are so kind, patient, and accommodating.
Their recent renovation really reflects how much they prioritize the needs of animals. For instance, some of their kennels are heated on the bottom for larger dogs, and the "recovery" cubicles face a glass window so that animals can watch people from the outside. It's a truly beautiful renovation that puts animals first and is so thoughtfully curated and designed. A bit pricer than other vets, but worth it for the quality, attention, and care that your pet will 1100000% receive! Highly recommend this place.
They dont care about pets. The only important thing for them is money. It has been a month that I am waiting for a simple response about my cat since he needs surgery but nobody cares. They dont care about my pet and my time.
Had a great experience taking my foster dog here! The new clinic is beautiful and the staff are friendly and efficient. The entire team took great care of Bertram and were very patient when he wasn't too keen on having his nails trimmed. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my own pets here.
We were so lucky to have Dr. Catalina Roman there. She was amazing. Explained every necessary risk and benefits, and she was so kind and patient with my boy and daughter, Steve and Candy. I will defiantly 5star this place.
That was Teddy’s first visit. Teddy and me felt the visit very professional and of course affordable. Teddy got lots of love and passion. Deeply, appreciate doctor Catalina Roman and Wellesley Animal Hospital staff. We see you soon again.
The vet and staff are excellent and attentive. They took care of our foster dog (now our dog!). The clinic is also very well located. If you're in downtown, I strongly recommend them.
Excellent experience with our foster dog! The Dr took the time to explain everything to me and was very calm and gentle with the dog. She was extremely nervous and wouldn’t even walk. The The nursing staff was great at carrying her everywhere and at assisting as well with the Dr. The office and store was squeaky clean and had a variety of products to choose from. 100% will go back!
Always a pleasant & welcoming hospital to bring your children, oops I mean pets.nope I mean children ;) the staff are compassionate, well trained, professional & give you wonderful service + care. Highly recommended
I love this vets office! I bring my dog and cat there and they literally saved my cats life. Everyone here clearly cares about helping animals and they do everything they can for our pets. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
I took my puppy Charlie to see the vet yesterday and I was very pleased with the visit! The vet was very thorough and answered all of my questions. The staff were also very friendly, making an overall great experience.
Exceptional animal clinic downtown; convenient (great new, large, modern digs!), helpful friendly staff; knowledgeable, competent vets and technicians. Doctors take their time to explain context and scenario surrounding your pet's health, giving you as many options to choose from to move forward with treatment/health plans (without the hard-sell - this is HUGE) And all the staff give their best efforts to make sure you're attended to. A trustworthy place for your loved animal with a team who truly have your pet's best interest.
