"Let them eat cake. " I helped a friend with his OW application and support. The administrative incompetence of staff at Ontario Works (OW) is shameful. A total absence of operational processes to ensure the OW mandate is being fulfilled and that clients are not left high and dry. Zero EMAIL, only phonecalls. If you have had a difficult experience with OW, you have the right to complain. I have reported this to the Office of the Ombudsman of Ontario.

Wow. The staff are incredibly rude. I understanda some people need a paycheck, I don't underrstand how they sleep at night the way they treat people.

I like the odsp benefits for dental, health, medications etc.odsp coverage is outstanding. Some of the odsp Workers well spoken, groomed, and mannered.
Staff that works for the province odsp, welfare why are we complementing them who only conducts intakes? Holding peoples files at a local office or jurisdiction? And offering support? Secondly it's the gouverment paying for peoples rent, bus passes, subsidies, affordable housing, food, clothing, online shopping, hostel beds and incarcerations etc.thank the provincial gouverment, not office employees working for the gouverment.

The staff here really helped me a lot! They are so nice and patient to give me helpful suggestions and resources when I nearly felt hopeless and desperate. Definitely the best place in Toronto. Thank you guys so much! Jo-Anne is the best!:)

I agree wholeheartedly with another reviewer and so I'll quote,
"There is a level of warm professionalism you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else. "
Specifically, at any other Social Services office. I'm not terribly experienced with many other Toronto area offices however speaking as someone who has experienced suburban 'welfare' offices, at Wellesley Place I felt like a human who is deserving of the same service and respect as those behind the counter. Kudos to the staff the and specifically to my own worker, Rosaline McDougal. Thank you, sincerely and from the bottom of my heart for truly caring about me.

Fairly nice and decent workers, I just found the disorganization of the staff, workers and management to be unbearable at times.
In one day they switched my worker to 5 different people, a different office entirely. Every month I'm getting a new worker. I find also, the lack of communication between clients and their workers to be unacceptable.
I was denied funding multiple times due to this non communication.
Over all not the best but not the worst experience. The workers try thier hardest but their hands are tied by the Ford corruption we call government. Some of the workers seem to care but then the lack the judgement to make the appropriate call before following procedure, example. Sending two police officers to my door in a house I shared and rented a room from.instead of calling me directly.because I mentioned my chronic pain and the lack of help or care from the government aka the mafia, was making me depressed. Therefore sending my new landlords into a panic and creating a discomfort in my new home. Eventually rectifying myself homeless again
Or the non discreet letters they mail out so all the neighbours can see you receive an assistance cheque. Really kickin you when you're already down Ford!

By far the best office in the city! The resource centre is so helpful, Kathy was the best, sweetest helpful person there! She is always there with a smile on her face willing to do whatever she can to help! AMAZING!
