Exceptional Customer Care and Going Above and Beyond at Wellwise!

I recently had an outstanding experience at Wellwise that I feel compelled to share.
I was waiting for a customer service person and I was greeted by one of the staff, who later came to know the Manager of the wellwise, (If I remember correctly he is Mario) he went out of the way to exchange the incorrect size of Brace, I had purchased earlier

I wanted to purchase my CPAP supplies, and Mitzy was very supportive in guiding me to find the exact items. She is always smiling and very friendly. What truly set this experience apart was her willingness to go above and beyond. Not only did she provide detailed information about each product, but also took the initiative to check for additional items that might be beneficial for my situation. This level of personal attention and proactive assistance was both refreshing and greatly appreciated.

Then when I inquired about the diabetic stockings she took me to Gale who is a specialist in this area. Though I didn’t have any appointment for measurements, Gale offered me that she would accommodate me right away and finished all my measurement ordering, etc then and there. Gale asked me a few questions to figure out how my usage and medical condition guided me through their extensive selection and took the time to understand my needs to ensure I found the most suitable products.

Moreover, when it came to finding the right size and specifications for certain items, the staff demonstrated remarkable patience and expertise. They even took the time to explain the features and benefits of various options, ensuring that I felt confident in my choices.

I must commend the team at Wellwise for fostering a customer-centric environment that extends beyond the ordinary. Their dedication to ensuring customers leave with the right products for their needs reflects a commitment to excellence that is truly commendable. I believe Mario’s leadership, and friendly approach to customers must be having a very positive approach to all the staff.

In a world where exceptional customer service is becoming increasingly rare, my experience at Wellwise stands out as a shining example. Kudos to the staff for embodying the principles of outstanding customer care and for going above and beyond to meet the unique needs of their customers.

I am grateful for the positive experience I had at Wellwise and will undoubtedly continue to choose them for my medical supply needs. Thank you to the entire team for setting a standard of service that others should aspire to emulate. Keep up the fantastic work!

Stuff aint gonna be cheap here, but they do have knowledgeable representatives and they have a wide array of various items and gadgets that are definitely geared towards a people who are seniors or have disabilities. It is actually a very good one stop shop where you can find everything you need to make their lives easier. Plenty of parking, you're parking, and it is a relatively nice and pleasant experience.

In fact it is also a relatively good place for people who want to practice and continue active living, with many daily items like arch support and sleep aid machines.

Went to pick up my Rollator.

Service was decent, other than I had to wait for them to put the Rollator together.

Both customer service reps that attended to me, were professional, and provided excellent customer service.

Store is neat and tidy.

Thank you Yuki, for keeping me updated for when I can pick up my Rollator. You made receiving my walker a breeze/understandable with answering my many questions that I had.

Im on ODSP - with medical incontenience and with pre- approved for supplies and each and every month since jan 2022 i've had 2 call in for my stock ordered supply 3-4 times which by now should be ordered for me and them calling me 2 pick up. However, its now end of april 30 th and after 3 calls & 1 voice mail no supply is still here. This is ver poor service because when Shanique was working at this location until dec 2020 my supply was always on time by mid- month.
Management need to up there game on ODSP patients, cuz i will take my business to walmart or other competitors willing to accept my $160 supplies pre approve and bill every month.very, very poor customer service call backs on there supply! Or hire more staff exclusive for ODSP ppl!

My 11yo son injured his ankle and we needed a special type of boot for him to heal faster. We were helped by Dino who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and explained everything so well! Both me and my kid came to the store feeling quite confused and not sure what we needed. Dino really helped to alleviate our anxiety about the situation, and provided an amazing service.

The person who answered my phone (either Winnie or Wendy?) was very friendly and helpful. I was asking for more info on rollator walkers and she gave me the additional info about the Ontario Assistive Device Program, which had saved us lots of money. Thank you!

I was in the store at Mcowan and Lawrence today and the service was excellent. Alex helped me with the items I wanted then took me to the desk where I obtained an estimate for my insurance, All staff were friendly and very professional. Thankyou.

Basically unprofessional and rude when it comes to Customer Service. There has to be "Common Sense Knowledge/Customer Service Sensitivity" Training on how to deal with people with disability who shop for medical equipment.
The customer service (Gale) for compression socks fitting, is unpleasant. No smile no greeting when she received us a senior lady with a care giver.) The minute she saw us she said she had another appointment at 11: 30. Our appointment was at 11am but we waited nearly 15 minutes at the door where the cashiers are.
In general, there has been a decline in the health care system on how people are treated particularly from 2005 onward.

I want to commend IRENE at this location. I was at my wits end. I am a caregiver for my Mom and she broke her ankle and now required more than just regular pads for her incontinence, Irene reviewed the different types that were available and even GAVE ME SAMPLES to take home to try before making a PURCHASE.who does that, I say that is above and beyond any customer service I have received anywhere. Thanks again IRENE, you made my life so much easier and I learned something as well.

Almost 2 weeks ago i asked one of the employee to get predetermination for an item.she said prescribed items don't need to add TAX even when I mentioned. Yesterday i went to get item another employee a man added Tax, and said her colleague didn't know must add TAX. I asked for another predetermination to sent to my insurance. I was waiting in a line up for him to do that, He instead of doing my request asked another new employee which didn't have any idea to do that job, I was standing there for almost 20 mins he was helping another customer and mean time instructing his colleague to prepare my request. IT seems I am not valued like other customer for him. I told him because of your colleaque mistake I have to sent documents to insurance wait another 2 weeks to get approval and come back to get it, you left me with other employee who doesn't have any idea how to do it.you must precede my request first or wave tax, I asked him to call store manger or in charge to talk to him or her. He said manager is off today. I found that store is very irresponsible for their mistake, customer must put extra time to get their medical items and be in pain and discomfort for another at least 2 weeks.

This place is not friendly and has some very rude staff. There is an employee named Alex who works on this location and threatened to throw me out of the store just because I interrupted him and when I waited for him to finish he ignored me and refused to help me with my hand trauma injury!

I was only trying to ask him to call the front desk for extra help since he works in customer service desk as there were only 2 employees available at the time and the store was about to close while he didn't let me even finish my sentence!

His behavior is not justified and not acceptable and I do urge the store manager to take action against him and investigate what happened. I will contact wellwise customer service head office to complain about this incident since this
was not my first experience with this employee and again I was treated very poorly.

Professional behavior was expected from big brand name like wellwise employee and some curtousey is always nice to have and would in turn be respected. Thank you!

0 stars. I USED to go to Wellwise to get my yearly CPAC supplies. There was a kind person who worked there that would always call me to check up to see how I was doing and If I wanted to submit a quote to re-order some supplies. Once this person left, the manager JON, took it upon himself to provide a third party organization my information with supplies that I did not require. I then got a phone call from him stating my order was here. I was very angry and unhappy as 1. I did not request any supplies, from Wellwise and 2. My personal information was going to a third party organization without my consent. I was very unhappy when I received the phone call. I was confused and the third party agency was confused as well. I don't need my third party agency to lose trust in me. I will not be re-ordering my supplies at this location anymore.

I am so grateful to Sandra, who fitted my mother for compression stockings today (July 9,2020). She was patient and compassionate. She explained everything clearly and encouraged us to ask questions. Sandra treated my elderly parents with respect. I told the manager about my positive experience, and he said this forum would be an adequate way to get Sandra the recognition she deserves.

Any time you called to place an order you have to waite for one hour and a half before someone helps you, for example today one person answer then they put you on hold, another one comes on put you on hold again, there should be more stores in Scarborough beside the one on mc Cowan rd

We wanted to share with readers the extraordinary assistance provided to us by JOHN LAM of Shoppers Drug Mart's Wellwise store #499 at McCowan & Lawrence. I called the store for assistance, since I am self-isolating due to COVID-19. The lift function of the power recliner chair of a loved one (who is also self-isolating in their home) became stuck in the lift position. The chair was purchased at this store in 2013. John went above and beyond to provide us with the fullest information possible so we would be able to make an informed decision regarding the best path forward. 1) John explained the current status of the prorated 7-year warranty on the chair. 2) He provided a general overview of the repair process, timelines and costing. 3) He then contacted the warehouse to speak with a technician, describing the malfuction to them, to help us gain a sense of the range of issues that could possibly be the cause. (I had John on speaker phone on my mobile device and our loved one on speaker phone on our landline. John would place me (us) on hold while speaking with the technician, and then come back to us with further questions from the technician. And so it went, back and forth. Just incredible! 4) John then gave us a ballpark of what the cost could be for each of those three or four possible scenarios (control box, motor, scissor mechanism, pinched wire, etc.) within the context of the current status of the prorated warranty on the chair. 5) I then asked John about new chairs. Since the existing malfunctioning chair is now discontinued, John researched which current model would be its equivalent. He emailed the brochure and a link to the manufacturer's web page for that chair to me, and included what the pricing and delivery timeframe would be. He kindly honoured a 20% discount on the pricing for the new chair. (He had called the manufacturer's warehouse for us to check whether our preferred colour choice was in stock — it was.) 6) At my request, John also emailed two brochures to me for two in-store chairs in our preferred colour. All in-store chairs are currently on sale. 30% off. I printed out all of the literature and dropped it off outside the front door of our loved one. 7) That night, I emailed John to ask him if he could check with the manufacturer's warehouse to see if one of the in-store models was available in the warehouse in our preferred colour. Our loved one liked one of the in-store models, but wanted to purchase it out of the warehouse. The following morning, within an hour of store opening, John emailed me with a confirmation that the chair was in stock at the warehouse. 8) I called and left a message on the store's voicemail for him and he returned my call within 20 minutes. And, voila, the chair is purchased and problem solved. Throughout this entire process, John was helpful, compassionate, patient and efficient! Had to watch an ignorant and uneducated employee harass my and try to berate my mom on the store's return policy. My mom purchased a few items for her aunt right before Christmas. Unfortunately she past way a few days later before my mom could give them to her. Less then 10 days after she purchased the items she tried to return the brand new still in the items for a refund. These were not medical devices or special items and she had payed in cash. This employee insisted that the store and all off shoppers return policy is to a refund by gift card even if you pay cash. Even after the manager was called she still was argumentative and insisted that the store policy to was to do a refund by gift card. Even the manager could look at this fool and simply refunded my mom her money after checking the items and receipt.

You articulated options and patiently guided me through choosing the assistive device best suited to support my aging parents' needs. I am thoroughly impressed with your caring interest and prompt same day delivery. In fact, though calling from another province, a distance of 1500km, from start to on site delivery took less than 2hrs.

Hi. I wanted to share this with other Ostomy shoppers. I went into the store to price out supplies that I need and I am shocked of how overpriced Wellwise is compared to everyone else. It is absurd. I use Hollister #14202 and it is sold in this store and on the Wellwise website for $50.99.amazon.ca sells it for $29.99. Also, cameddirect.ca sells it for $34.57. If you are price conscious and do not want to be taken advantage of, please don't shop at Wellwise. BE AWARE OF WELLWISE'S PRICE GAUGE!

I came to this location for my back problem and I would like to thank Marita for helping me with the products I need to relieve my pain. I came to buy a back support which my family doctor recommend, but she was able to convinced me to buy a heating pad, the motion medicine, cushion for seating and for my back. The products really helped me, both at home and in the office. Marita was very helpful and has excellent customer service.

I feel at home with this location. I have been coming to get my clients' medical supplies and also for my personal needs. They have variety of items.from wipes to incontinent pads. Back supports and home medical equipments. Alex is very knowledgeable with their products according to our needs. Great consultant. And also Tonia and Mar were very friendly. Patrick was also accomodating. They have time to listen to your needs.

I was in the store for the first time. I was impressed with first impressions, the.store was nice and bright and.well organized. I found what i was looking for. I found slippers for me mom who suffers from edema in her feet and struggles to find slippers that fit. The sfaff were friendly. The cashier explained the name change as of Nov 18th. Wellwise. I was also impressed of other items sold which would make great Christmas gifts or gifts in general.

Very easy to come by bus, atmosphere very nice, the cashier sales person marita was very helpful, i bought a wrist brace, she was very helpful to ask me if i check it already and if it was the right size because it was non refundable, good thing she told me because when i open the box, it was the wrong size, she help me find the right one, she is very friendly and patient, she has good customer service

I had had a problem at this shoppers home health care.i was upset for a while but then the manager and i spoke an he absolutely fixed everything.and his great staff follow up.if they dont know something they dig til they get an answer.they constantly go out of their way. Im very grateful for them. I can only void with catheters so I get real uneasy if I think I may run out.each and every member of the staff make sure I don't. They make me feel like I'm their only customer.they are all so wonderful.

UPDATE:
the manager contacted me and he was so very very nice.and understanding so I'm coming back of which I really am very happy. I can still get my catheters delivered or it is close enough to me that I can go get them.he said he would keep an order of them for me every month as I absolutely need them every month without fail.sharon

I came across this review recently on Shoppers Home Health Care at 685 McCowan Road and it was about an employee by the name of Dennis. I wanted to write this review because I have known Dennis since 1998. When I first met Dennis it wasn't even Shoppers but Doncaster Medical up on 7310 Woodbine Ave. Shoppers Drug Mart then bought all the Doncaster Medical locations. They moved the location to 9255 Woodbine Ave. I have always dealt with Dennis and he has always treated me with Respect and always gone beyond Customer Service. What this lady Sharon Laidford has said is all lies. I have had Dennis personally deliver my products after hours on his own time, taking the YRT transit when he didn't have to do this. I've know dennis so long I know he doesn't drive and had to take York Region Transit to deliver those items and that is EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Not many people let alone have staff who go beyond their Customer Service. Blaming dennis on the mail going missing is such non sense. Mail does often go missing that's nothing new. As I mentioned I have dealt with Dennis for over 15 years in fact as I had mentioned how Dennis personally delivered an order to me after hours that was in Markham where I live. I have taken my business with Shoppers Home Health Care at 685 McCowan Road where Dennis currently works because of his excellent Customer Service. I usually deal with the Markham store which is closer but Dennis is so helpful I am willing to drive down to Scarborough. You cannot blame Dennis for problems with the manufacturer such as delays or what they call backorders. You cannot blame Dennis for this ladies order sitting on the hold shelf that is not his job but falls on the shipper/receiver to contact the customer.again not Dennis' fault. You cannot blame a front store customer service representative for factors such as ordering or the mail gone missing that is a Canada Post issue. His job is to assist you in the store when you come in or when you call, place an order if the product is not available and yes ship the order when it. If a product is not available that is not the employees fault that is with the manufacturer. This customer must be new customer as she mentioned from her review and from what I read from her review she would have gotten the original receipt when her entire order came in. So like I mentioned before I have dealt with DENNIS for over 15 years and would recommend his Customer Service to anyone. Dennis is a one of a kind individual and is always a pleasure to deal with.

Came by the get a pair of compression socks. Dealt with someone named Sandra. Terrible customer service. No idea why people like this get jobs. Extremely rude. Arrived for the appointment on time and then was blamed for the fact that she did not hear being paged of our arrival. Extremely condescending. Will never use Shoppers Home Health.

I hope management deals with Sandra's lack of people skills.

I have been a customer for about 15 years with no problems to find what I need. Since the remodeling finished, The New Management do not work with elderly customers to find what they might need. They are rude and unwilling to help. He said what you see and what you get, and would not let the lady to search in the computer. Some of the ladies, they don't know what they are doing and would reply let me ask someone. Please fix the problem with the staff.
