Please be aware for all parents who are thinking of spending money at this store! Wife is almost 8 months pregnant and we came here to buy a baby car seat. The staff was sweet and very helpful… the item was on back order and was told by the cashier it would ship to us free of charge in the next 1-2 weeks. We lined up for almost an hour to make this purchase. After waiting for our item, we called today, only to find out it would not be shipping for another 6-8 weeks! There was absolutely no follow up call to let us know the delay. Are you kidding me!? What kind of sales tactics are these? LYING to your customers just to make a sale. What a waste of time! Is there any consideration? 6-8 weeks is whole lot of time when you growing a baby or have young kids. We went back and forth on the phone…online still says shipping Dec 2023, but rep on phone says “we have nothing to do with the website” … omg. No further steps to even help, not even an ounce. Please check out all the low reviews and you’ll notice the common trend! Baby purchases are not cheap and lots of time are spent on making these decisions! Please! Consider going somewhere else with better customer service without the added stress and inconvenience… just wow! SMH West Coast kids, PLEASE DO BETTER.

I truly advise everyone to go shop somewhere else. This is not a company that values their custumers or honours their own promotions and once they get your money they do not care about their their promises.

I went to this store a week before black friday as per their Instagram post saying you can make a purchase now and they will refund you the difference once the item goes on sale. I bought some some stuff and when I came back to the store a week later to recieve the refund for the items that went on sale they they refused to refund my original payment methood and would instead only provide store credit. I am sorry but store credit is a not a refund and is not what was advertised. Not to mention that their return policy is a complete joke and is embarrassing.

Definitely will never be coming back or shopping at any west coast kids location ever again.

Horrible customer service. Went into the store over the weekend and saw they had a stokkes Tripp trapp bundle set on sale for 25% off. It said it was only for white coloured which was fine. There was no price or any other labels attached to the item. So we asked a sales how much was it. She told Me about $427 after discount and verified it was brand new in box. I told her ok let's pack one up for me at the register.

When I went to the cash to cash out my stokkes and other items I ordered i was told that my other items had to be ordered and will take 2-4weeks.so I asked if all my items can be picked up all tgt including my stokkes. Lady said sure and I was more then happy to pre-pay in full and pick up in 2-4weeks.

Hours later the store calls and said that the price we prepaid for the stokkes was for a floor model only. I told her the lady earlier verified it was brand new. Not floor model and if I wanted a brand new one it is $30 more ontop for that bundle. I said that's not what I was told. Back and forth they just refunded us instead and said if we want the floor model for the discounted 25% off at $427 then we have first dibs.

I mean it is our fault they blame us that the deal was for. Floor model when it didn't say so and refuse to honour it. Then they tell u we paid for the wrong package when I wasn't the one that cash us out and wasn't the one that was told the wrong price. I feel like west coast kids decided to. Price gouge after they found out it was popular and it was in high demand bc of the deal. Or they screwed up and wouldn't admit to it and wants us to pay for the difference or refund you to silence you.

West coast kids customer service is even worst. I went to complain and I asked someone to call me to discuss instead they refuse to call me and gets the whole situation incorrectly.

Horrible.

West coast kids is my favourite baby store! They have an excellent selection of products I haven’t seen elsewhere. The store is spacious and bright, and easy to get around with a stroller.
Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the products. They are located outside the mall so there’s only an entrance from the parking lot so there’s Lots of parking available.

I’ve shopped here around 8 times out of necessity, and the one consistency I’ve come to expect is horrible customer service. Though I’ve found the sales people selling strollers and car seats to be helpful and hard working, I’ve had a bad experience with the cashiers each time I’ve been there. There’s not enough sales people but way too many cashiers that all don’t seem to be doing anything. I’m at point now where I’m willing to spend more money and drive farther elsewhere to avoid giving west coast kids my business.

As a new mom I visit this shop a lot and despite the fact that everything is super pricy, I love it! But this time a lady named Tahereh made my experience even better with her outstanding customer service. She was very attentive and helpful. Her customer service should be recognized and I hope she is highly appreciated by her managers.

My first time experience at this place was absolutely irritating. I bought a crib picked it up from warehouse 1 hour away. They confirmed that I’ll get a thick mattress with the crib then the thinnest mattress was included.

The lady who seems to be one of the managers refused to include the right mattress. She must be ashamed of herself after I pointed out which one of her staff members confirmed that I’ll get the thick mattress. Shame on you for wasting my time and money.
I don’t recommend this place based on my experience.

UPDATE: Almost one year later, after many phone phone calls, photo evidence, emails etc…WCK still denies error, refused to refund me, and or exchange for the Wonderfold Wagon for one in working condition.
It still sits in the box.
While they have blatantly lied on the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU website, about sending me a brand new wagon at no cost while allowing me to keep the damaged one, the response clearly proves my claim. When presented with proof of a being sold a faulty item, within less than 24 hours of purchase, the company has a legal requirement and responsibility to exchange or refund, as every other company or it is theft.

I purchased the Wonderfold Wagon Luxe 2.0 from West Coast Kids, it arrived damaged, looked to be used from the wear on the wheels and a few scratches on the hardware.

West Coast Kids said too bad, you have a warranty contact Wonderfold.
This wagon has been sold out across Canada in every big box store, I had a feeling it was too good to be true when they said they had stock.
This company is most likely getting refurbished wagons, then selling at full price.

So now I have to play ring around the rosie with Wonderfold, to replace this $1400 wagon. It’s been over two weeks since all of this and neither company will help.
Buyer beware.

After a tiresome back and forth with I’m positive my experience is the tip of the iceberg, in regard to their unethical business practices.
Not all business’ can afford high end items, many cut corners, like my experience. Instead of sending a damaged item back to Wonderfold, they tried to get away with selling it online.
West Coast Kids will not acknowledge their error. I am told they will not compensate exchange or allow me to return the product to the store. WCK stated the moment I opened the box, the item became final sale. This was my first purchase form this company.
BUYER BEWARE.

Update: After a gruelling back and forth, WCK has still refused to take back their product and refund me or exchange it.
I’ve posted on the BBB, to which their response is, they sent me a BRAND NEW WAGON months ago and I currently have TWO wagons at my disposal, so I am lying about my claim.
Imagine, lying about doing what you’re supposed to, instead of just doing what your supposed to lol.
This company is shadier than I originally thought. I’m at a loss for words. 7 months later I still have a damaged wagon in the box unable to be used. What does the million dollar company get out of this?
For them this is absolutely nothing, for me that’s a mortgage payment. They have fought me tooth and nail to not let me exchange or refund the product since the day it was delivered. I honestly don’t understand. And frankly I can’t sell the wagon, knowing it’s defaulted and someone will put their baby in. I can’t have that on my conscience.

Shame on you WCK.

For the second worse experience with this company! I advise all of you to buy products elsewhere! They have a sign on their desk saying lowest price guaranteed yet they have the highest price. I bought a baby breeza advanced pro formula maker from amazon for 199.99 for my parents house and I forgot to bring it. I live far therefore needed to purchase another one, I went to west coast it was 350$ and I told them since they have a sign we price match! They said no we don't price match amazon! Yet walmart has it for 199.99 and best buy. I ended up purchasing it from best buy. Again so many other products I purchased from them ended up being so much cheaper at dear born or other stores!

There was a sale going on for the babiator sunglasses, so I ordered a pair online and pick up in store and got a call the next day from the store saying that the order was cancelled because they don’t have it in stock. But somehow the website still showing it’s available in store. Very disappointed!

This store needs a serious staff overhaul! I wish I didn’t have to shop here so much as it’s one of the only baby stores around anymore.

But I have literally spent thousands at WCK since having my baby last October and EVERY TIME I shop here I regret it based off the customer service (or lack thereof) alone! I’m a manager in retail and it just shocks me how this store employs so many miserable people. You would think being a retail store that caters to parents and children they would have more patient and friendly staff.

The only helpful employees are the ones working in the stroller/car seat department. They are the only ones to ever acknowledge us any time we’re at the store and ask if we have any questions. Then you get to the service counter and every single person working is just miserable. God forbid you have a question when you get up there, expect a rude, dismissive answer.

You really would expect better from a high end retail store such as west coast kids. It makes me wonder if their stores in Vancouver are the same.

It was my first time visiting west Coast kids I always went to buy buy baby and walking in staff were un welcoming, not even a hello and just didn’t have a good customer service demeanour. When I asked for help with toy suggestions for my 7 month old they couldn’t help also was just getting starred at while walking around instead of being greeted and asked if there was anything they could help with. Definitely since buybuyBABY is closed go to snuggle bugz over this store.

Absolute chaos during sale times. Not enough cashiers, checkout process takes forever and they are disorganized. I've found staff at the floor friendly but for some reason cashiers to be opposite. This has been pretty consistent everytime I went to this location.

They need better process during sales event.
From my experience they should have staff near the cash to help customers load their large items to their car. Right now the cashiers had to go to the back of the store to find someone and if they still can't find someone they were looking around the store.making the checkout process that much slower.

Great baby products here! The only qualm I have with this store is the staff support. I've been (and purchased) here multiple times, and I find there's always a wait for either someone to help you in a part of a section of the store, or a long wait at cash (I shop in the morning when its theoretically less busy)

The workers literally walk around in circles and AWAY from you to avoid doing any work. A few of them just stand around and chat at checkout while customers are waiting for someone to help them.

Travelled an hour to this place. It was our first visit. Great stuff. Nice staff showing us the products and answering questions. BUT, it takes just one person to end our shopping trip on a sour note. The cashier was just rude. Didn’t say hi, or thank you at the end. I asked her one question, and she only gave me a one word answer “no”. Not friendly AT ALL. After packing my items, she just hands it to me, doesn’t even look or say anything. It wasn’t even busy. I don’t know why she works there. I almost wanted to just return my $450 worth of stuff.

Hillcrest location is terrible. They charged my Visa for a crib order which I didn't approve, and then charged me for a crib conversion set when I specifically told them not to because it was not available in the colour I wanted. Now they are refusing to issue a refund and will not call me back. This goes beyond poor customer service.

I bought a stroller (Silvercross Jet SE) last April at West Coast Kids. So the stroller broke, so I contacted customer service of Silvercross told them the issue and they told me to return the stroller where I bought it and will get a full refund. So I drove to Richmond Hill from Oshawa to return it at West Coast Kids and I can say I had the best experienced specially with Paula and Philip they handled my issue so quick and smoothly. They're so professional, so nice, so kind and so helpful to me. Paula dealt with my return and purchased so good and Philip showed me how the Butterfly Bugaboo folds and unfold and he even helped me assemble it there and bring it to my car. They're so so helpful, nice people. Thanks again Paula and Philip for your help today I appreciated it so much.

I purchased a baby carrier and they sold me the Demo one and literally said Demo Only on it so I went to return it and was “helped” by this girl named Joyelle she was extremely rude and was yelling the whole time Which I didn't get why after Talking to her manager she returned the item, I went on and purchased some other items and went to cash out she again was very rude and with thousands of baby stores Im sure they will want my business somewhere else. It’s frustrating but when it comes to being in the store I love the vibe that the staff still provides especially during the sales and promotions they have. The past few times I went recently I was assisted by (Talliah) who had a lot of patience with my order and also updating my account. She definitely had a lot of patience and it felt more like a friendly chat than a transaction, especially when she remembers her customers:) kudos to Paula for being amazing as well running back and forth showing me what else was available in stock!

Staff members are not trained well here. They don't offer to help and don't seem like they want to help.

Was at the store on August 12,2020. They started to mop the floors before closing. Think about it. A store with pregnant ladies walking around. Voiced my concern to the staff member (older gentleman) mopping at the back. He looked at me and didn't say a thing. Just continued mopping. Just that interaction alone would prevent any more visits to this store.

Manager I engaged today was super helpful, she try to help us many ways with deals explaining what was best deal for us. It was wonderful asian manager we had experience.

However, many other employees were rushing us with item we were not interested and one of the sales rep pretending she was customer and saying "Oh wow that stroller is on discount? I better buy this soon! " Talking to other employee who was explaining item to us.found out later she was standing on cash register and she is working for West cost kids.

I felt disrespected and they treated me like fool. Cashier was not sure on promotion untill I asked about it. I visited few days ago and saw promotion. Cashier had to take out her phone and check to see I was right or wrong.she did not seems to know all the deal was happening.

Many parents are spending easily over $1000 and not sure what to buy for first time baby. Felt like we were not respected and unwelcome after the experience we had.

Management seems super organized and know what she was doing hope other workers follow her and working style and treat customers with respect.

We went here during the Covid-19 Pandemic and had an amazing experience! The store was practicing social distancing, had readily available hand sanitizer and stickers on the floor of where to walk. We felt safe in the store.

Paula was our sales associate and we could not have had a better experience! She was knowledgeable, professional and personable while working with us for over 3 hours in total! Her knowledge was expansive as we had many questions about strollers, cribs, Green Guard Gold certification, nursing chairs, and the Mamaroo. We did not feel pressure to purchase items, but instead were given the knowledge about different items and different price points and the choice to openly select what we felt comfortable purchasing. I have gone to two other baby stores looking for furniture and equipment and have NOT had any experience even close to my experience here. I would recommend West Coast Kids at Hillcrest to any new parents, grandparents or anyone looking to purchase baby needs!

Inadequate number of staffs and not knowledgeable enough. Came on a Sunday before Black Friday week, waited 15 mins before they can find a staff who knows how to work a Stokke chairs. Another staff then brought out the wrong product twice. Spent 30mins there while we could be done in 10mins. Weekend suppose to be busy yet store is not staffed with knowledgeable ones. However the one who is knowledgeable was very helpful. As a boutique store aiming to be better than the standard babyrus I expected better

My wife and I had a warm welcome as we entered the store from a friendly sales rep named Paula. Paula was patient and extremely knowledgeable in helping us find a new crib and dresser, when it came to explaining all the different furniture manufacturers and the pros and cons each company had to offer we felt very well informed after Paula spoke with us.

In terms of helping us find a new stroller and other accessories we never felt pressured and my wife and I felt like we had never received such first class service from any retailer. Westcoast for the win! I’ve always been a big fan of Westcoast Kids and have gone to the Bayview location but the overall selection at Hillcrest is amazing and the staff is wonderful.

Actually I love the stuffs there, but the cashier is always inefficient. They spent at least 5-10 mins on each customer just for checking out this such a easy and simple thing. Sometimes they chat with colleagues when they are serving the customer. That’s maybe the reason why they are so inefficient. My worst experience is on Black Friday this year, I spent almost 3 hours lined up for cashier (actually just around 20-25 person line up there), but when I came back home, I checked the receipt, I found that the cashier Jessica scanned one item for twice. I have to turn back and get my money refund. I tried to call the number of the store, nobody answered and the mailbox is full. Maybe time means nothing to her, but means a lot to me, I don’t want to waste my time on these stupid mistakes.

My wife and I drove here from Toronto to find a stroller. The store was quiet and yet nobody would come and help. I had to find a staff every time I had a question because they would run off as soon as they finished answering one. It’s very frustrating because we are first time parents and don’t have a clue what to look for in a stroller and I had driven to the store to ask questions and make an informed purchase. One nice thing about the store was that it was clean and you could test out the products.

I shopped the majority of our baby stuff at this store, including a stroller and a crib. It is a very nice bright store with a lot of baby gears. I live in downtown Toronto and we drove all the way up there to purchase from the store. But uh the employees.let me just say they are nothing even close to baby gear professionals. If you want to go there and make the purchase, you’d better do your own research and know what exactly you want. Otherwise they will leave you lost and confused. They didn’t even know how to install a car seat or fold the stroller. I think the employees need better training, especially they are selling baby stuff.
Edited: Reduced to 1 star for the following reasons
- As I mentioned earlier, the employees at this store are by no means baby products experts. I was told that the differences between a Medela Pump in Style and a Medela Sonata is that the Sonata comes with an app. Everything else is basically the same. Seriously? Customers, you need to do your research elsewhere before purchasing anything from them!
- We purchased a Stokke Xplory 6 pram, and bought the carrycot separately. But we were given the carrycot of the Stokke Trailz. We had to go to the store to return it while my mother watched my 5-week old. Such a terrible experience! The staff there made the excuses that the factory sent them the wrong item. Uhhh.

Went into the Hillcrest location for the first time last weekend with my mom and was greeted by Christina, the regional manager, and she was incredible. Spent over an hour with us, patiently answering every question we had. She had great recommendations, being a mom of three herself, and ended up getting almost everything we needed in one shop. She even helped with follow up questions I had a couple days later happily taking my call when I called the store. Would highly recommend this location, especially for first time moms, go find Christina she will help sort you out!

Worst customer service ever. I bought a bunch of different items online during Black Friday sale and 2 weeks later I contacted the customer service because I still hadn’t received a shipment notification. They assured me there was no problem with my order, just some delay due to the amount of orders. A couple of days later, I received an incomplete order. Contacted them again about the missing items, was told it was a partial shipment even though no mention of partial shipments was done and the invoice for the entire order was sent with that first partial shipment. Then I did receive a second package with the “missing items” but they actually sent me twice the same plush toy and not the missing one. Contacted them again, was told I wouldn’t be able to get the right item before January so not for Christmas but I could get a refund for the incorrect item y returning it or keep it with a 10% discount. Very inconvenient for me to go to to the store to return it and I expressed my disappointment. Was told the reason why I was offered this “generous” 10% to keep a duplicate item was because the one I ordered was actually out of stock. Could maybe have started with that, when I initially asked if there was something wrong with my order. My husband went to return it in store today and.was told they wouldn’t do any refund before January because of boxing week. Never going back there again, products are great but management is absolutely terrible.

NEVER work here. You work 10 hours and only get a 30 minute break. The management has a lot of drama behind the scenes and they can’t keep their employees for long. Half of there current employees are planning on leaving and I can see why. They do not care about their staff. I worked here for a few weeks and the assistant manager Paula was trying to force me to come in while I was ill. As for shopping here many of their staff are under trained and don’t know much about the products.

We are so pleased and thankful for the service they provided. Christina the store manger was very helpful and I am very satisfied with my purchases. I highly recommend this store for your baby needs.

Was very pleased with service and Christina the store manager did a good job of explaining and helping my wife, mother in law as well as myself to understand the best product for our needs. I highly recommend this store.
