Been here for 12hrs! The service for patients here is absolutely horrifying. I keep poking my head out of my exam room and see several nurses playing solitaire on their computers. This whole
Experience is completely unacceptable. Been here long enough to deal with 2 shift changes.

We know there are shortages and we know there are renovations. But we get here at 8am and the wait time was 35 min. 1 other person in waiting room. Now it's 2: 30pm the wait room is full and Tim's are up to 4 hours. Still no answers from anyone.

Wanted to extend my warmest appreciation to Miranda, Dr. Mackenzie and the entire SDS (Same-Day Surgery) Team for taking such exemplary care with my loved one’s medical procedure- the level of support, respect and continuous progress updates exceeded my expectations for a 1st-time visit, and I felt nothing but genuine warmth the entire visit- other medical facilities sure could learn a lot from this location

Thank you on behalf of our family from saving our 3 month old son. The doctors and nurses at the emergency department acted right away and made transportation arrangements to send our son at McMaster. God bless you all

We need a new hospital… badly. It’s crazy. Patients in hallways and everyone can hear your conversation. One Dr running around and doing what seems to be what a nurse should do and there’s multiple nurses that aren’t busy (I understand that unions work in specific ways) He was the only one with a sense of urgency other than someone with a Trent University Tshirt. Because of this, the drs communication is short and could be seen as lacking care. I think it’s honestly, the space and resources causing this. The coolest thing was the tube that they can send the specimens etc to the lab in. With my concern, the dr was very thorough before he left me leave.

My gf and I had our mammograms today here. We always do the girls together and than lunch.
Anyway.parking is an outrage at the hospital. Took a chance (parking by-law officer is usually sniffing around) on parking a plaza across the road. Hopefully much more parking with all the renos.

Had a tech today named Gina. My friend and I both loved her. She was friendly, gentle and had a positive personality. Definitely going back here in the future. Thanks Gina!

Such a terrible hospital. If anybody needs an emergency care, get to a different hospital even if the drive is 20 or 30 minutes more. I woke up from my sleep at 3am in the morning having shortness of breath and got there. The nurse checked me in and I literally sat down in the examining room for almost 2 hours. The doctor never showed up. When asked couple of times in between all we got to hear was the doctor is so busy she will be with us soon. Waited almost for couple of hours and gave up. Such an ignorant place. Terrible! I feel so sorry for paying tax to get these kinda services when needed.

Great doctor and nursing staff. I went in with a large gash on my elbow after a bicycling mishap. There was a bit of a wait but that is an Ontario issue not a WLMH issue. Triage staff was great, nursing staff was fantastic, the doctor was very caring and personable.

In the hospital with my 4 year old son who has a possible broken arm or dislocated shoulder. 5 hours still waiting. No doctor.

I have no idea why the locals kicked and screamed to save this place. It's pathetic. Dilapidated building, cranky staff, an ER that is abysmally slow. All the while watching the nursing staff through the window playing on their phones, online shopping, hee hee haw haw, to hell with them patients!

My 4 year old has been down there with his mom with a completely immobilized arm (broken? Dislocated shoulder?) for SIX HOURS and haven't spoken to anyone since checking in at triage, nevermind getting x-rays.

I'm not an unreasonable person and would expect to wait if the ER was busy or more critical injuries kept arriving, but they didn't take a single patient for the first three hours my wife and kid were down there waiting! Embarassing that we try to flex on Americans based on our health care system.

I had day surgery here yesterday and I was absolutely blown away by how caring and attentive every single staff member was. The doctors and nurses took such good care of me and it was by far my best experience in a hospital. While I hope I don't need any more surgeries, if I do, I would want to come back here.

If you want to die go there worst hospital in Canada I was in the waiting room for 4 hours with a level 10 headache and no one called my name it. Everyone who came after me saw the doctor before me worst hospital known to man kind

Waited for 7 hours to get stitches in my hand then when the doctor finally came to stitch up my hand (only after asking what was taking so long) he also missed a piece of glass which made me need to go back, they said to come back super early so I got there at 6: 30 the next day and ended up waiting hours anyways (WHILE NO ONE WAS IN THE WAITING ROOM)

I am never the person to write bad reviews but as I am currently on hour 6 of my visit and still yet to see a Doctor, I'm slightly irritated. This is not my first experience at this hospital I have been here many times before with each visit being a minimum of 4 hours. So far today Ive watched as everyone who came after I did, walk through the doors to see a doctor before me. In one of my prior visits I had to get stitches and the nurse who did the stitches didn't numb the area where she was operating correctly so I got to feel the full experience of the stitches only to find that the stitches were over lapping my skin and was going to cause a problem and they had to redo the stitches. In all honesty stay away from this hospital the 20 minute drive to St Catharines will save you hours of pointless waiting.

The Nurses and Doctors at West Lincoln are AMAZING professionals-they are understaffed and overworked! I for one am SO grateful they are there for us!

If you need anything addressed in an emergency you're much better off driving to st catharines or hamilton.

This is the best hospital experience I have ever had in my life. LGBTQ+ are treated with respect. The Doctors, Nurses and Technicians are very Friendly and positive. Great ER experience from Triage to discharge.

This ER has always been the one I go to even though I live in St. Catharines. Never had a complaint, only praise. This time we brought my son's girlfriend in after she had been vomiting for 2 hrs already. She was convulsing, crying loudly from the pain, eyes black, skin yellow, hands and arms locking up. No concern was shown, no sense of urgency whatsoever. We were the only ones in the waiting room besides a homeless man who was snoring in the corner (was nice of them to let him sleep there though as it was freezing outside). I was using Kleenex from outside the triage window, triage nurse yanked it into the window. I went to my truck and got my own. Registration was playing solitaire on the computer screen, 3 nurses inside the triage window having a visit. I almost called 911 FROM the ER. I had my phone ready. I am so disappointed with human nature right now. I just picked that child up in exactly the same condition she went in. No improvement. 11hrs later.

I’ve only had great experiences here. The wait times might be long because it’s a small hospital with very few doctors and nurses but they do try. Every time I’ve been here they have tried their best to resolve my issue

July 12 2022 My appendix ruptured confirmed by CT scan and doctor. You kept me loaded with morphine and overnight when there was an emergency team waiting and bed at Juravinski but no you had me lay there all night and morning next day. When I got to Juravinski 3 hrs in surgery and 6 hrs in recovery the professionals at Juravinski are still puzzled how is it I am still alive. Shame on you triage ladies and the nurses.

I wish I didn’t have to leave a star as I’m really disappointed in this place. I understand the wait times to get in but to wait and no doctor and no nurse to come in and see my father. This is disgusting. I was there at 12: 30 and got in at 4: 30 … it’s now 6: 46 pm and still waiting. The excuses is the doctors are slow when we ask. They even pretend they don’t see you. Absolutely disgusted

Online it says 51 minutes wait times. Been here for almost an hour and out of about 6 people waiting to be registered let alone triaged only one has been registerd. There are two registration windows with the staff either chatting or just looking at their computer. No system in place. No indicator of who is next to be registered. Sit on the red chair with others and they will call next. I can see how this can lead to absolute chaos. We are here for a possible fracture but God forbid some one is having a time sensitive emergency?

My 90-year old father was taken to ER after a fall. The doctor on duty was rude, impatient, and argumentative. He actually refuted my father's medical history when I told him the effects of a previous fall. (This is an injury that is easily seen on a CT scan, and one that several other hospitals and clinics have confirmed.) The staff were busy gossiping with one another and paying no attention to patients. I have never dealt with such rude, uncaring staff and such a disgustingly filthy medical centre. The ER bathroom floor is caked with filth that looks like it has been mopped to the sides of the walls for many years. The administrators should be ashamed of themselves.

My 80yr old stepfather was in emergency for almost 12 hours. 12. Hours. Great health care system we have. Pathetic.

The worst hospital in the entire world I’ve been here twice and I will never go again. Every single doctor, nurse and receptionists are full of attitude and if you ask a question look out or you’ll be screamed at, needless to say just don’t go to this “hospital”

The ER is terrible. Nurses aren’t very nice, they don’t ask you what’s wrong and make you feel like you need to go else where which is what I had to do. 28 weeks pregnant and really bad pains isn’t something to take lightly and I’m pretty disappointed that going to a hospital where you should feel taken care of was non existent. I would zero stars if that was possible.

I came here for the first time ever yesterday for day surgery on my ankle. I have never had such a positive experience with every single staff member at a hospital, but yesterday I did. The check in administrator was kind & helpful. The nurse team I had was a dream team. They really seemed to gel well together. The logistics person came in the room to restock & was nice to speak with as well. The anesthesiologist was great, and surgeon team made me feel comfortable & cared for. As said, I can't complain about anything (minus my body deciding to act up after the surgery giving excruciating pain despite most of the meds given at top doses today it's already going better).

If anyone from the hospital sees this, thank your team & staff for all the great care!

I had my first mammogram here. The equipment was brand new and the technician was wonderful in answering all my questions and preparing me for what I could expect.

If I could give this hospital zero stars I would, what a disgusting place with the worst staff I've ever seen. The manager of the facility is a joke, do not take your loved ones here take them to a real hospital not this Mickey Mouse piece of garbage.

Rude. No one could answer any of my questions. And told me the person I was looking for wasn't even at that hospital. She was. I had to pick her up from surgery. But the person who answers the phone didn't care. She was probably busy chatting with her friends. Which is what they do here. Good luck asking for help. They will point to the end of the hall and good luck. No one even wanted to look at me while I was there except the front door guy who wanted to make sure I had on 2 masks! Two. One was not enough. He had on one mask though. Avoid this place if you can.

Walk in is the shortest in the area, nurses are very knowledgeable, great place to be seen if your in a hurry or don't feel like waiting.

Had a very high rating for hospital until yesterday. Received a letter from Hamilton health saying that allllllllll my health information was being looked at by a staff member who they fired. They determined that it was not malicious, based on what I don't know, did I know the nurse I don't know. It was an internal. No police nothing. During the period of time I died and was revived. I called the number on the letter that was sent to me minimum 7 times over the day starting in the morning. As the day progressed yes I was very agitated. My call was finally returned late afternoon. Few people on the call saying that I was threatening etc. I said that I would go to the media and contact police. Not sure why that is a threat. The person

I cannot believe the negative reviews here. Twice now I've needed assistance and got it here. To me, the personal interface with staff is at least as important as the moderness of equipment. I sat in the screening entrance for a relatively short time awaiting a x-ray, observing the goings-on. Staff were very personal and attentive to people coming in- recognizing they were human beings in need-whether it be ailments or upset because they were visiting loved ones in medical trouble. They understood that no one goes to a hospital for fun. At most facilities, the attitude seems to be "why are you interrupting my time on my phone? ". Not here. Congratulations!

The wait is horrible. I left because only one person ahead outside. And inside, not sure but they don't seem to care and take their time.

I've lived in Grimsby my whole life and if you're local you should know how bad this hospital is. If you have anyone you know staying here you should expect negligence. If your hopes are higher for the emergency department you'll be disappointed as well. If you're anything less than a gunshot wound don't expect to get into the checkup room anytime soon, where even then you'll debate if they've forgotten about you. You're better off taking the drive to Jurvinski no matter your injury.or even worse, the General!

I had a wonderful experience at this hospital! The nurses were awesome as well as the surgeon and a special thanks to the anesthesiologist who acted as the dj in the OR. This hospital has an old country charm, it is dated but that is part of the charm. Makes me want to move to Grimsby! Thank you for the great experience!

Yesterday was not the way I wanted it to start and ended up I'm the er with severe lower abd pain. Everyone was kind, empathetic and quick. Dr. Shapiro was amazing, she listened and wouldn't give up until we figured out what was wrong and we did post CT. Asha my nurse was kind and gentle. I'm very grateful.

We took our 2 and a half year old son to the ER tonight and could not have received better care and service! Dr Martin and nurse Mary were caring and efficient. The entire team saw to his needs right away, thank you to the entire WLMH team!

Waited 8 hours (till 2am) in excruciating pain just for the doctor to not show up and a snotty nurse gave me painkillers and said to wait longer

Excellent hospital, excellent service from staff/nurses and doctors. Wait time and timing on each appointment was on point. I was very impressed. Yes the hospital does look outdated, but for a small town, I'll take the quality of service any day.

Absolutely best experience under the circumstances. I was in the emergency room this morning with tachycardia. 221bpm. Saw Dr. Jeffrey, nurse Bill and others. They were fabulous. I got a good dose of adenosine after attempting other ways to bring it down. Felt better immediately. Thank you for your kind bedside manner, prompt treatment and success at bringing my heart rate back to normal. I hope not to be back, but if I have to, I know I will get great care.

Not a very comfortable experience. There was two staff in total that were polite and spoke to me about everything. The rest used incorrect name and pronouns even when corrected by other faculty. When a taxi was cancelled, but showed up anyways, they tried to push for me to get into the car when my ride was on it's way. Most likely will not return to this hospital at all.

DONT COME HERE EVER!
I’m 19 years old and I went into the hospital and told them I felt like I was having a heart attack and they took 7-8 hours to do multiple tests only to come back and say “I’m perfectly fine”. They then woke me up at 8: 30 am with a phone call saying I have to come in for an echocardiogram at 11: 30, I got my echocardiogram on time (thank god) but then was told Id have to wait an hour in the ER waiting room for the results. I waited and waited until I was put in a separate waiting room that was NOT CLEAN! I was in this disgusting room by my self for 4 hours, and no one even talked to me. Also not to mention they told me to lie down on a stretcher that has hair and stains on it! If I ever actually had a heart attack I would die by the time they even ask me what’s wrong‍️ Absolute BS

My son was so upset I never wanted to come back! Never had a doctor so rude talking down to you like you’re a child, not explaining to you exactly why you need to do more test. And I refuse and say I want to take my son home and she obviously wasn’t too pleased about that and told me that I will be back in a couple hours and what’s going to happen is that she’s going to drill a hole in my sons leg to give him an IV!
I went home, and headed to Burlington instead where the doctors there explain to me

I being in different hospitals, with the resources they have I can say is a good hospital. Small but with so much hope. Thank you for all your hard work in this difficult time.

It's been some time since i last visited but when i last went the doctor was generally condescending, The building wasn't the cleanest, and the wait times are awful

Wed. June 17th @ 1;30 a.m. Brought 78yr old husband to E R with cut on head as a result of falling out of bed, lots of blood but no one came to clean it up, waited for an hour in waiting room to see doctor, NO ONE ELSE there, doctor took 2 min, said no stitches req'd take a shower in 24 hr.again no clean up or check for concussion. Treatment was disgusting especially since we were the only ones there. I may have to re-think my next contribution to W L M H. Harvey and Lindy Davis Grimsby

Over 3 hrs now waiting to have possible cracked/ broken ribs looked at/ diagnosed. 4 others on wait. All came after me. No deluge of ambulances.

The staff here is amazing, extremely friendly doctors and nurses. The wait time was a little long but that is expected anywhere.

Why can we NOT visit our 80 plus mother that is confused, wondering WHY she is there? Weekend staff is apparently sparse. She has several daughters BUT only one can call for an update 1-2 x per day.

This is HORRIBLE service. She is ALL alone. We want to BE there for her BUT she is in solitary confinement. Covid is destroying ALL if us! SO unfair.

Under staff, my grandma went there and waited 7 hours cause she broke her finger. Didn’t even see any doctors at all. Decided to come home instead of waiting another couple of hours

I have delivered two of my babies here via cesarean. The care given by the obstetrics nurses and doctors is exceptional! I couldn’t ask for more loving people to help me recover. I recommend west Lincoln to everyone I know!

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Today I went with my mother to Lincoln Memorial because she fell and thought she broke her nose and orbital bone and was in an extreme amount of pain. We decided to go here because we thought she might just need some stitches and the wait would be shorter than a Hamilton hospital. WRONG. With only maybe 5 other people in the waiting room, we waited 4 hours! My mother’s pain was increasing and the nurses were extremely rude when she asked for water and a Tylenol. To make it even worse, during our stay an elderly gentleman with a severe facial injury came in and it was bleeding profusely. They even made him wait more than 20 minutes and only cared when he fell unconscious in his wheelchair. Ridiculous! Now here’s where it gets interesting. After waiting in the examination room for over an hour my mother started experiencing shortness of breath, chest pain, and was shaking profusely. She was crying and asked for a doctor. I ran out of the room and told the nurse my mom couldn’t breathe. She walks in, takes her vitals, says I think you’re just hyperventilating and says that we should get an EKG and she will be right back. My mom is shaking, crying and still has trouble breathing. I, her teenage daughter, is crying beside her. My mom is so cold she asks for me to put our coats over her. Not a surprise, but the nurse never comes back! I’m left alone with my mother who seems like she is having a heart attack and the nurses are never to be seen again! They don’t even offer her a blanket or a cup of water. An hour passes and I am so fed up I help my mother walk out and go to another hospital. The nurses were giggling and eating around their lounge and just glanced at us as we walked by and didn’t say a word. If you actually want help just go to St. Joe’s! My mom is already being looked at there and it’s been less than half an hour!

This is a wonderful hospital. People should not talk poorly based upon thier personal opinions, frustrations and uneducated judgements. Waiting a long time in a hospital is veey normal, and thank God for these doctors and staff who attend to those in critical conditions, life threatening positions, and puttting those who are breathing second to those who are not. There are people who are alive today who otherwise would not be, because of the sacrifices these professionals make on a daily basis. If u r not willing to put forth a positive comment leave non at all. There is an entire community relying on this hospital and could use support right now.

Delivered my twins here and couldn’t be happier! The nurses in the maternity ward are phenomenal! Yes the rooms are small and very dated but the nurses and care I received were worth it. I spent three nights here as well as 2 nights a month earlier when I had pregnancy complications. Dr. Nwebube was excellent as well!

I don’t have words to express the gratitude I have for the ER nurses and Drs that worked on me as fast as they could when I went into the ER with dangerously low oxygen levels brought on by influenza A and full pneumonia, to my first contact at WLMH I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Now for the movement up to the ICU, not only did the ER dept make the call to get me up there, they made it happen very quickly as I was really sick. The ICU did not disappoint in any way. My nurses were 2nd to none, words like phenomenal, fantastic, caring, knowledgable are just a sample of how they could be described. Janet, Julie, Sharon, Karen, Denise, Susan, Laura, Rachel, Jen, Cathy and Sarah. I have no words to express how much I thank all of you for keeping me going in what I will call my last days. The knowledge that my nurses had is top notch, they worked diligently with the Drs and made sure the Drs had every bit of info they needed every time they came in to see me, now I had a few very rough days where I know I was close to being gone but because of the care from start to finish at WLMH emergency services I was able to get “the best” care anybody could ask for and my 12 days spent in ICU with what I will call my superheroes made it possible for me to come home to my family. 1 more great big huge thank you I need to give for educating me on how lungs work and all that stuff is Respirologist Doris, you are a rockstar when it comes to your passion for what you do and I thank you like crazy. Not to mention how you brightened up my day with your upbeat positive attitude every morning as I patiently sat there waiting for you to come in. So in saying all that, I can’t type a big enough THANK YOU to all

Been here since 830 am with chest pains. Was left to wait in waiting room for 4 hours. Brought to room at 1230. Had some blood work done. Was told Dr will be right in. But bloodwork results will take 90 minutes. 2 hours later no one has come to my room. Better off to have gone to St Catharine General

I broke my elbow and they took an xray then told me it was fine be better in a couple days. The end of my elbow is broken off. Gave birth to my son here and they were great. Emergency part is a nightmare. Horrible experience with my broken elbow.

My husband is currently a patient at this hospital and while the nurses there couldn't be more caring there are some things they neglect. They had transferred my husband to ICU yesterday morning but not one person called to inform me. I was shocked when I arrived to his room to find his bed empty. I would have arrived much earlier had I been aware.

The hospital desparately needs to be rebuilt. The surrounding area is continually growing and it is unacceptable to expect area residents to have to drive to St Catharines or Hamilton if they close this hospital.

Aweful place. The front desk staff at ER took all patients even ones who came much after us. Seems like they were racially profilling patients. Only two families waiting (including us) were non-whites. Waited for almost six hours and the wait is still on.patient is my 2.5 year old with a small object stuck in her ear. If you are non-white, good luck with this place. Worth driving to another hospital.as they only seek white patients. Very disappointed with this kind of discrimination. They told us that there was no room available but everyone (white) who came after us (as many as five others) were accomodated. Very annoying and sad to see this happening in Canada.

I have experienced slow moving hospitals but here I don't even know if they care as after we were admitted and given a room, we waited 4 hours without a single person even checking in.do what you can and drive the extra time to Hamilton or St Catharines if you have something serious.
