West Ridge Family Dentistry

I’ve been a patient at West Ridge family dentistry for about a year now and am very happy with the service they provide! My first appointment was pretty eventful but I think how they handled it says a lot about the people who work here. I came in for a routine cleaning and one of my crowns popped off lol the whole team was super nice and accommodating during my mini crisis. They quickly set me up with the dentist who cemented it back on for me right away. I was so grateful that I didn’t have to leave with a gap! The office manager was very understanding about the whole thing and didn’t make me feel bad for the unexpected delay that it caused. I walked out feeling supported and I’ve been going back ever since! Great team who provide great care.

Routine dental exam revealed a chipped tooth needing attention. I got an appointment the next day and Dr. St Pierre fixed it quickly, efficiently and painlessly. He is very considerate and attentive to detail and has a great chairside manner. Sara and he make a great team.

Yesterday was my first appointment with this amazing Team! Due to illness my oral health has been neglected. The assessment of my situation happened in four stages and was extremely thorough. I have never had exposure to the preventative tools I was given to care for this part of my health. The approach was holistic, positive, non judgemental, supportive and enlightening. Never once did I feel Pushed to make a decision that didn’t feel right for me. The approach was collaborative and at all times I was in the drivers seat. I am excited about moving forward with theses skilled, knowledgeable upbeat professionals. I would highly recommend this Team as your next stop for oral health and wellness.

My daughter was unexpectedly coherent for her wisdom teeth removal and able to recall details of the unpleasant event. Please dont make the same mistake we did from our lack of dental sedation knowledge. Dr Collins is limited to the amount of sedation he is qualified to administer. The limitations in his scope of practise provided a negative experience for our daughter. I am confident if we were aware of the potential she may be coherent for this procedure, we would have seeked an alternative dentist to ensure her anesthetic needs were met. This is not an isolated event. Please see reviews on other media platforms.

As usual, the care and expertise were top of the line. Dr. Collins and all his staff explain what is required and why, and are unfailingly courteous. Being at the dentist is never fun but they do their best to make sure it is the best experience possible. Thanks!

All staff are amazing. Right from listening to your concern on the phone to assessing you in person and providing service. Secretary, hygienist, dentist etc.
Too many to name. Everybody does their best too make you feel comfortable while making you aware of every step and decision along the way.
Definitely a family atmosphere and bond. I am proud to say they are my dentist, back up dentist and emergency dentist.
They are completely professional and above the bar by all means.

April 20,2021. Even with heavy duty pain killers, the offending incisor would not let me sleep. I had never been to West Ridge Family Dentistry. They took me right away even though they were busy. I could plainly see the problem in the X-ray. Dr. Piercy a patient, intelligent princess gave me two options, root canal or extraction. I chose extraction for my stained, worn 70 year old ivory. She hummed soothingly and proceeded gently. I asked for pain killers and she wrote a script. On the way home, I was quite uncomfortable but the freezing came out and an hour later there was a slight coagulated depression. All of my teeth that were uncomfortable in sympathy, acted normal. No pain whatsoever. Thank you to Dr. Piercy and the two assistants for an enjoyable 40 minutes and 15 or 20 not so enjoyable but not excruciating. I was not expecting an immediate return to normal. I very rarely post a review but I feel so unexpectedly great that I couldn’t resist. When paying my bill I was shocked that it was 3/4 of the cost to which I agreed. But then, they want to make sure that if there are complications that they are not paying for the work. Thank you again. This popped up April 26,2023. I guess I didn’t post it.

West Ridge is very friendly, helpful and experienced. They work within and understand your personal needs.

This was a minor repair and I found the cost of it way too high for someone without dental insurance. I am a patient at this dental office and I am not impressed that you charge $125 additional cost for the right to have your tooth fixed on top of an already high cost. This was a fast repair that took minutes. Jim

I really appreciated West Ridge Family Dentistry fitting me in for a same-day appointment when I was concerned about pain in my lower jaw and a particular tooth. As someone who is easily anxious at the dentist, the ability to come right away saved me days of constant worrying that would undoubtably have effected my productivity at work. I found the technician to be very patient while taking an X-Ray, carefully explaining everything to me so I had no questions and never making me feel embarrassed for being anxious over something so routine. The dentist was gentle and thorough, both of which I greatly appreciated.

Wasn't going to rate this place, however I think it's necessary. How about a real unbiased review!

They are one of the most expensive dentists in Orillia. They are in your life constantly changing appointments and reminding you a million times of upcoming appointments. The receptionist makes errors and if you're coordinating 2 plans cross your fingers and hope it processes properly. A few mistakes are understandable, but this happens frequently. You'll see if you sign up.

Roger the hygienist is OCD and will always find something you need to do more to maintain healthy teeth. He takes his time and makes sure to squeeze as many units in as possible. He's even gone as far as sharpening dental tools during cleaning. That's just gross and unnecessary. Very pushy and no matter how great your teeth are he'll question you. Makes you feel belittled at times. Use the other hygienist. She's nice and won't overcharge you or hurt you by over cleaning.

Dr Piercy left the office and it's a shame. They never informed their clients and just surprise this is your new dentist.

The new dentist is a little strange. He shakes hands before and after dental work. Masks were no longer needed in the office and they stopped forcing them on people. Now they changed it back and make you diaper up (their policy). But the dentist shakes your hand twice? How is this sensible? Please don't even try to explain.

Sorry but I've never in my life been so frustrated with a dentist office like this one. They're quirky, unorganized, expensive and annoying. Shop around, you'll thank me

Not my regular dentist, however, they were fantastic. I needed a wisdom tooth extracted, couldn't wait to see my dentist, they were amazing. Had no problem taking me in, they explained everything really well, were incredibly thorough.
The cost was very reasonable, they ran the insurance request through for me so no additional Hassel AND I got to keep my tooth lol
The staff were very kind and really put me at ease.

Everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely feel as good as possible for an appointment that I really don't want to be at lol.

My first visit at West Ridge was for a root canal. Having the word "awesome" in the same sentence with root canal you would not expect, but at West Ridge they were awesome. Professional, friendly, understanding and followups after the procedure. Highly recommend West Ridge.

Others seem to love the service. Ill say this they can fix teeth. Its the up sell that bothers me. I like old fashion dentist. Dont want to watch a vidio or any whitening. Like i say they fix teeth well.

Dr. Piercy has always been professional and compassionate. She is careful to help me plan my dental care to fit my budget and she helps me prioritize any work that needs to be done. Her staff is cheerful and efficient.

I have been a patient of this office for a few years now as a result of my previous dentist retiring. I have found Dr. Jerry Collins to be a very good dentist. He takes the time to answer/explain any concerns I might have. Roger is great as well, as he also explains what he is doing and why and providing advice on how to properly care for your teeth even though I do not take it all. Staff are friendly efficient and really appear to care about clients. They follow up the next day to see if everything is still okay which not many do. If any problem does arise, your concerns are addressed and taken care of immediately. One drawback for me is the distance, but it is worth the trip to Orillia!

Had another visit with the Westridge Dentistry, ya know you must be content and like your dentist when you actually look forward to your appointment! Always nice, make sure I am satisfied befor I leave, explain everything so well and great conversations. I am looking forward to my next appointment! Thanks again for another great visit.

Today was the most positive experience I have ever had at a dental office. I have had a lot of work done since a young child and as a result I am very anxious when visiting the dentist. Today I had two restorative fillings done and a wisdom tooth out and I am shocked at how easy it all was. Dr. Piercy is phenomenal! So glad I switched to this dental office!

I haveI received first class, professional treatment from Dr. Collins. Not only does he do excellent dental work, he spend time to understand the interrelationships and complexities of teeth and the whole body. I highly recommend Dr. Collins as a dentist.

At a consultation today, Dr. St. Pierre answered my questions in layman language, and I have great confidence that he will be able to treat my case successfully.

No compassion from receptionist. I will not go there or recommend this place because of her. I would give it zero stars but I had to pick one in order to post this message. I am newer to the area and in need of a regular dentist. I called this office in severe pain from an absess that came on rapidly. Unfortunately I do not have any dental coverage, so my huge concern is cost. I am a low income-self employed single person struggling finacially especially through covid. I am nervous going to a dentist and that has become worse since mine retired years ago. I had called many dental offices in Orillia but none had an opening, or I left a message on their machine. I had found out costs along the way from kind receptionists. WestRidge is more expensive than the other places I spoke with, but they were the only place at that time that had an opening. After I explained my situation and mentioned how much another price was, I was rudely told the dentists set their own prices and charge what ever they want and it was they who were accomodating me and willing to see me when they were so busy with their own patients.
Being talked to like that, while suffering made my dental anxiety soar through the roof. There was no way I was going there after that. I said thank you for your time and hung up.
Luckily I received a phone call back shortly after from Lakeside Family Dentistry and they were so wonderful, patient, understanding and very kind. They took the time to help expain my options. They made me feel very comfortable.i would definately go there again.

Appointment today for dentures and teeth extractions, for how nervous I was they managed to keep me calm. Quite impressive, love the dentist and dentures and their assistants are amazing. Thanks again Westridge family dental.

I’m glad I started coming to West Ridge Dentistry many years ago. Team is very friendly and welcoming. They always give estimates on any procedures, so you are not shocked when it is finished. They are so gentle and I’ve never had any issues after the procedure or cleanings. They always contact you after just to check with you. Its a great office if you have benefits or a lot of money. Very nice inside. Kind staff, Manager Erin was sympathetic to my pain. Dr Collins spared no expense to find out what was wrong. Unwilling to flex on prices. Root canal quote was over double the price of my previous 4 procedures from other dentists. I just won't spend $2600 on a root canal. But as I said, its a very nice office.

The staff was very friendly and professional. Made me feel comfortable and relaxed which is usually not the case when I visit a Dentist. My appointment was on time. I related to my new Dentist, Dr. Saint-Pierre as we are about the same age. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. He discussed my situation, went over my options and outlined the next step. I am confident that everything will be completed to my satisfaction.

Everyone, from the initial phone receptionist to the dental assistant and dentist, was warm, helpful, compassionate and efficient. I thought I had cracked a tooth and was terrified of the pain a dental procedure might bring. They squeezed me in an appointment the same morning I called, x-rayed the afflicted area, explained options and detailed the costs (extremely reasonable) and then did an extraction quickly, and most importantly for me, pain-free. They even did a follow-up call to make sure my healing process was as expected. My husband and I visited on May 12 for a cleaning.the staff were all friendly and they have gone above and beyond to make the office COVID safe. Our hygenists we’re thorough and did an amazing job.

I totally enjoyed my visit today with Dr. Collins and his staff. After being checked for Coronavirus I met with his dental assistant who further questioned me as to my health and concerns. Dr. Collins explained everything he was doing during the exam. I felt comfortable.

I’ve always been scared/anxious of the dentist and this is the first dental service that made me feel completely safe and comfortable, had my wisdom teeth removed as well as many restorations and left the building feeling amazing, next to no pain after the operation and absolutely no pain during the operation. I highly recommend this dentist for anyone looking. Dr. Colins is an amazing dentist with an equally amazing team!

I honestly have not been to the dentist in over five years due to a previous bad experience with my former dentistry. But facing some serious dental problems finally caused me to break the cycle of ignoring and get some help.
Jerry, Larry, and the team were truly amazing and have continued to be as I've now made the clinic my family's dentistry and have continued to see them for regular appointments now.
The location is beautiful, even despite the COVID outfittings required. All of the Administrative staff are knowledgeable and compassionate, able to answer any questions I had. And the clinic actually has an online intake form that actually works!
If you have any issues with anxiety about dentistry work, I would definitely recommend seeing Jerry or Larry for an honest assessment and direction moving ahead. I've never felt so assured about my dental hygiene and long term care. You can feel confident in the information and support you receive to make any decision that need to be made.

Great friendly folks, and very professional. This was my first visit for an implant assessment. Everything was explained very well. Only 4 stars as I cannot rate the actual procedure yet.

The staff at West Ridge Family Dentistry are friendly, courteous and very helpful with patient's needs. Numerous times I have needed to see a dentist quickly and they have been most accommodating. I have been a longtime patient and will continue to visit this great facility.

They are very kind and understanding. They helped me promptly and got me out of pain as fast as they could. I like that there is not a lot of ads in the office. I despise most dental offices for there cosmetic adds designed to make you feel ugly and in need of whitening. If you need to advertise fake clowns for your dental office you must not be a very good dentist. Hats off to West Ridge!

Arrived 5 minutes before appointment time - was met by staff who took
digital temperature - answered a series of health questions - everything OK - staff then donned full PPE and directed to room - everything was very professional - felt very safe and secure - no worries - after having teeth cleaned bill payment was safe and efficient - debit machine was unwrapped from secure wrapping and payment was facilitated complete with insurance documents - nothing was threatening or felt unsafe - Thank you Roger for your expertise, your professionalism, and your sense of humour.

Dr St Pierre and Roger are a great team! Together they explained the issues of an abscessed tooth and the process of tooth extraction. They made me feel very comfortable. And they were both empathetic of not only the pain I was in but also the mild anxiety I had about the process! Even in the middle of a pandemic, they themselves were calm and easy going.
I highly recommend both of these professionals.
