They dont have anyone available from customer service after 4pm.
Have to take time off work to deal with them at all, would never buy another house with this company as the only hydro provider.

In January 2023 a brand new meter was installed. Now in July 2023 Westario power tells me the brand new meter is not being received at their office. Even though I have been paying bills all year. Tech won’t come to house because scared of me two sweet Hungarian pointers one which is a three legged dog and the other is 16.5 years old.
Super inconvenient for a shift worker to be home and Tech could not tell me if my next bill will be large even though I have been paying bills since start of year. Get better equipment. Figure it out last time this gets done.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They hit my parked car and didnt admit to it. $2500 in damage.unprofessional, cowardly workers. -and a dangerous company to work with as they do not care about safety.

Customer Service department.what customer service department? Westario like you i have a job, therefor I do not have time for being on hold for 30 minutes or more. Web site needs improvement! Today, web site says closed! Hello it Tuesday!

Power has been out for 18 hours in Port Elgin. Zero communication, nobody answering the phone. Do they even know the power is out and are there any restoration times?

Clearly they do not care about their customers to communicate with us about efforts taking place to restore power and are sitting happy with their monopoly that they hold over Port Elgin. Unbelievable

Having been a customer for only two months, take this review as you will. The customer service rep I've been dealing with, we'll call them CL for some anonymity, has been fantastic!

I assume no one really enjoys paying for electricity, but the rest of the Westario experience has been top-notch so far.

Needed permission for my contractor to cut my trees. Had to make sure they were far enough from the line. Within 3 days, we were given the go ahead in writing. Thank you to all involved.

Switched seamlessly from hydro one 2 years ago and have had nothing but great customer service and no problems since. Great people to deal with!

Called for info about a power outage, this was the basic message, "If you are calling regarding a power out, please hang up and call in 1 hour". Fair enough, called back a couple of hours later and same message. Found an alternate number to report an outage, got an automated answer saying no one was at that number leave message press 5 or wait on line, it the forwarded me to the same message I had already heard twice. WESTARIO CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS
It would be nice too have the option of electrical suppliers, but that would probably put Westario out of business.

$300 service fee just to open your account. Transferred from Hydro Waterloo where things were organized and no hidden fees. Unfortunately only option to where we moved sadly.

Zero stars. Scam is that they will not send you a bill and then collect late fees. I have paid hundreds in overcharges with my many accounts with this company. SHAME ON YOU

They charge you a service fee to pay your bill. Should be criminal. We pay the highest hydro rates in NA and they still squeeze you on the service fee, very unethical, but you don't have a choice. Going to complain to MPs and Ombudsman, but I'm sure it'll go nowhere

Terrible website. So hard to just go with paperless bills. Automatic withdrawal is so difficult to setup. Power has gone out so many times, even on days when the weather was fine. If there was any other option I would have changed long ago.

Didnt receive a bill for 3 month then they cut the power for 226 dollars are u serious thats pretty sad in my books like its my fault i did receive a bill and they when i found out u start it was allgood and u still cut my hydro that pathetic

This has to be the worst company I've ever done business with, they don't care if you have senior living with on the medical lifeline I was one month behind 363 dollars an they sent someone to my door to cut my power
I'm on a fixed income I get payed the last business day of the month do they care answer is no. I have filed a complaint with the Ontario government an global news

Power has dropped out 4 times in the last month. Never have had that happen in any city I have lived in. Goverment should regulate you more

-1 The process for waving the initial security deposit is very cumbersome. -1 The customer pays a hefty premium to use our online payment portal.
+1 star because they manage to keep the lights on in terrible weather.

They have the WORST utility site I've ever seen. It's so badly designed that even someone like me that's pretty savvy got lost and kicked out of my account. If you opt for paper billing you're not allowed to have an online account. Whoever heard of anything so ridiculous? Unfortunately for usm they're the only provider.

Westario does not take responsibility if something seems amiss. I rented an apartment, basement, yes. $180 a month for hydro in winter. Ouch, but understandable. Then I moved to the 2nd floor, exact same apartment, but with brand new sliding doors, the water heater 30 feet closer to the bathroom. The hydro was $350 a month! For a small dumpy two bedroom, with the fuses for one bedroom, the hall and the bathroom completely pulled to save hydro, curly bulbs throughout, minimal oven use! Same building, exact same apartment. Westario refused to check the box, the connections, etc.am still in debt from it. Very very counterproductive "services". Homewrecking level.
