Westmount Neighbourhood Pet Clinic

I've been with Neighbourhood Pet Clinic for over 5 years now. We have 7 different pets with them, If we count close family referals, that's over 10 pets. Even after moving to a 25 minute drive from the clinic, we kept them as our clinic. This shows how much I used to trust this clinic.

Unfortunately, recently it feels like the clinic became more of a "brand" doing "mechanical" work and forgetting about the "human" side of things.

I'll explain.

Our dog had blood in his urine. They check his stomach and prostate and found nothing with an ultrasound. Did they check the kidneys? No they didn't, they charged me again for the doctors to have it checked.

Our dog ended up having surgery with them, the stitches became infected after a week or so, we sent them an image through email, they wanted us to wait 5 days for an appointment for us to have it looked at.

We get there with 2 of our cats, they have us wait for 30 minutes. Which is fine, stuff happens, we don't mind and wait.

Recently the dog I mentioned starts peeing blood again, after an 8 minute delay getting there due to traffic, appointment was at 4: 15, we arrived at 4: 23, the doctor REFUSED to see him (again, he is peeing blood, not a normal appointment), after getting refused, we see the doctor strolling around the clinic with his hands on his pocket through the window while we put the dog back in the car.

Neighbourhood Pet Clinic cares more about your money than about your pets, sure, most doctors during the visit are absolutely lovable but when you REALLY need them (the clinic), they do NOT get out of their way to help you.

Was able to get in quickly to this vet when I got a new kitten that I was quarantining until it could get vetted.

Was in the clinic and vet techs were friendly per my partner. We provided a stool sample thinking they were going to run it for parasites. However the vet left my partner in the exam room for 45mins as he was expecting the vet to come back. The vet techs had to kick my partner out as the vet left the building. The dewormer that they gave was not effective at all per my vet. We thought we were save with the original dewormer but it turns out my kitten has worms which could have been avoided if the vet provided best practice. Will not be returning due to this.

The team at the Wonderland (near Southdale) location really helped to ease my concerns about my dog's eye surgery. They called with timely updates post-surgery and were very kind and understanding throughout the process and were available for questions regarding post-op care. A good experience overall.

Called and asked for an appointment for my dog that’s in pain, wouldn’t accommodate anything for 4 days. Considering completely switching providers now

Wow. What a fantastic crew at this pet clinic. I was greeted warmly, they had all pertinent info ready for my appointment and the vet was so kind and calming to the cat I had brought in to be thoroughly checked over. All in all they made a stressful time much less stressful. Thank you from hobo and me.

Neighbourhood Pet Clinic takes great pride in taking care of my bichon frese. I would highly recommend them.

I want to thank Dr. Dave, Fiona and the staff at the Westmont clinic for taking such good care of my Kitty during her recent dental sugery. You helped us (Kitty and I) through this difficut time and we appreciate it so much. You are the best!

Adopted a very unwell kitty from the streets last week. Gave these guys a call for some help. They had an appointment made for me within 2 days. I took my Zeze in with some really bad ears, paws, and an abscess on his bum. I’ve never been to a more professional, kind, and supportive vet. Everyone was beyond amazing! They took THEEEEE best care of little man.
He is on the mend and already seems like a brand new boy. I will forever be grateful for this crew. I will never take my baby boy anywhere else. They’re for sure family now!

Also, I’d like to add… they didn’t slip any unnecessary costs into the mix, they kept me fully up to date the whole day he was with them. When I went to pay the bill and bring Zeze home, I was absolutely shocked at how fair and reasonably priced everything was.

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE IN THIS CLINIC. You guys are the real MVPs!

Drs. Dave, Waneeta, Alex & Alec are consistently caring, compassionate and supremely competent. Appointment times are respected & they always make room for urgent requests for veterinary care. Outstanding feature is the unhurried, calm atmosphere & complete focus on each pet when they're being assessed & treated

I’ve been taking Carson here ever since they were able to squeeze me in for an emergency in a pinch- they are so kind and accommodating. I brought my dog in today and Dr. Dave was amazing. He was very thorough with his examination and also with explaining everything to me. He was patient, nonjudgmental and kind. I usually leave vet appointments a crying mess because I just love my dog so much and I worry about him, but today I left feeling calm and reassured. Thank you Dr. Dave, Fiona and the ladies at the front desk for your amazing service. Carson and I appreciate it so much!

We always have a great experience bringing our cats to Neighbourhood Pet Clinic. It's affordable, the staff is knowledgeable and we always feel confident when we drop off our cats. We got our little one neutered yesterday and they just called to check in on how he is. Very happy with this clinic and we would definitely recommend to anyone else with a fur baby.

I went to this clinic for the first 7 years of my dogs life and they were consistently amazing. My dog gets anxious and is very timid but every veterinarian we dealt with showed patience and understanding.

Very friendly, knowledgeable staff who take excellent care of our pets. So easy to book an appointment. The interior design at the Westmount location is very calming and inviting to both humans and animals alike. Would definitely recommend them to take care of your furbabies.

I am concerned that my dog went in for check up and vaccines then 4 days later starts coughing like this kennel cough that our dogs can catch while being at the vets.my dog is 11 so I know her through n through she has never had anything health problems or struggles.no this by goin TO the vets! So at who's cause is this goin to be.mine.as I care for her.n hers as she is the 1 caring this virus. SMH. FYI I have only taken her to vets once in her life.call it bad care giving.but as soon as I take HER to vets.she comes out with a virus.

This place is fantastic. They took me in as ab emergency appointment right away and gave me prompt care and service.
My dog is feeling better and quite relieved things are healing up quickly.

We tried several vets across the city before finding the Westmount Neighbourhood Pet Clinic. The vets here are experienced, knowledgeable, and most importantly kind to our animals. When we had to say good bye to our dog after 13 years, the staff team was extremely respectful as they supported us through this difficult experience. Their prices are relatively reasonable, and I believe their care is the best around. Highly recommend.

My cats were misdiagnosed and could have died if i did not go to a different vet for them.shaking my head.

Westmount Neighbourhood Pet Clinic has been wonderful! They are so kind and caring with our nervous kitty. Lots of good advice and common sense! We buy our food and litter there as well.we are always confident everything is excellent quality. This is truly a special place!

They are kind, caring, reasonable, and never try to push services on me. They are incredibly respectful and collaborative on my pups care.

I am moving out of London because of an emergency. Of course, I am taking my cat with me and to do so, I need my cat to have his vaccines updated and a health certification. Everything has been done in a rush, and when I tried to make an appointment with his normal vet, they were booked out. I look for help in here, but this vet has not got tired of being rude. One person in the front desk even said: “you have a mess”. They have really poor customer service.

These vets are great, friendly and pets feel at home with them. Love the park like setting. They really care about your pets. My 2 cats (passed away) when they were alive, they got birthday cards from the staff. The only problem I have with them are their outrageous prices compared to other vet. As an example, when I got my one cat in he was already half dead, but was charged over $200 to put down. I love these guys but I just can't afford their prices. I am on a very small disability.

Unfriendly service. Hang up the phone call 30 seconds two times after I was told to hold on. Not even professional. Overall really unsatisfied experience.

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I never feel rushed and their hours/availability are great. Highly recommend!

Always when we go there they are very friendly take the time for you and show interest in your pet.

Really wanted to like this place as they are really close to us but they have gone down hill after they opened their 2nd location. The first problem we had with them was they gave our 7 lb dog her vaccine and our other bigger dog (there is 15lb difference between the 2) that dogs vaccine so she had more than double of one vaccine. We didn't get a sorry or that vaccine for free nothing was just sent home! The 2nd most recent visit the vet (which is never the same vet always different every time) wanted us to pay $400 to have a chipped puppy tooth removed! When they should of used surgery as a last resort for a 3 month old puppy! And the tooth fell short after that visit on its own! I. I'm not sure how they have such a high review would not send my worst enemy to this vet clinic with the kind of service they provide. Even know I ended up switch vets the north location is by far better than the west (the one we normally went to)

We have been a regular at Westmount Neighbourhood Pet Clinic for 3 years. The staff is very helpful, kind and knowledgable. The Dr's are just as kind, supportive and knowledgeable. Most importantly, my dog Dax loves to go to see the ladies at the vets. I would recommend their services.

I’ve only been there twice with my family’s dog. I initially came to the clinic because our beagle had an eye infection in December of 2016 and our regular clinic was on the other side of the city and I don’t drive and can’t take her on bus. I called them in the morning and they gave me an appointment in the afternoon. Good with my dog and price and medication was reasonable. Was there again earlier this year for nail trim Again they were good with my dog. I’m writing this review now because our dog recently had her birthday and they mailed her a birthday card.

Honestly don't know what all of the hype is about. I will give the actual vet staff credit: They are very professional and prepared. Were clear with the information and addressed all of the questions we had about our puppy and future treatments. The front staff however? Abysmal. Trying to offer countless times that we sign up for a subscription package and shoving the idea so aggressively into our faces that I found myself having to be defensive of my position not to take it. Being that this experience starts the second I walk in and ends after I leave I think the rating is justified.

I recently moved to London and was completely overwhelmed by the number of choices that came up when I started searching for a vet near me. I was first attracted to the Neighbourhood Pet Clinic by their unique layout in the reception area, and the good things I was reading about them. I'm never sure how much online reviews can be trusted, but I have to say, so far I couldn't be happier with the choice I made. Everyone has been welcoming and lovely to deal with so far. There was a mix up with the records they received from my old clinic, but that was sorted out quickly. I also had some concerns about one of my cats when he wasn't himself after his rabies vaccine, and they took him in quickly for a follow up appointment at no extra cost. All checked out ok and I'm happy to say a couple days later he seems to be back to his usual self, but getting him checked out right away really helped to put my mind at ease. Dr Martin and Dr Alex were both lovely, happy to talk with me and answer any questions I had, and our visits were as stress free as can be!
