I'm from Montreal so bagels are not new to me. Something to be said about this place. There is a line up for a reason. The breakfast sandwich with your choice of bagel (i took a twist bagel) was so fresh with the lox flavored cream cheese and fresh cucumber and sprouts was amazing. Everything customizable which makes the experience even better. Will definitely be my go to spot next time I'm here!
Never in my life have u had such terrible service. We got our bagels and challah quickly, but the women at the front were absolutely terrible. 4 women. 1 on cash, 1 "doing an order" and two others. The gentleman in front had a large order, one was on cash leaving 2 people. The one doing the order took forever because she was laughing and carrying on with two women. So after literally 8 mins waiting for a scoop of cream cheese I ask the woman doing nothing if she worked there. The lady doing the order began that "it's her first day, you wait! ". Should be her last. It's not rocket science to scoop cream cheese, on top pf that.what about the other one? I moved from Bathurst and Eglington where women had to be nice, because there is a bagel shop everywhere. These women are lazy, rude and I certainly won't be returning.
All baked goods and bagel sandwiches tried were great. Some bagels werent available and kind of felt a bit hectic at the time of ordering. There seems to be just few standing seatings inside. You can order drink at Starbucks inside Longos and eat at comfy tables over there fyi. I will definitely come back.
The slowest n laziest staff that you can ever find in a bagel shop in Toronto. Not sure if the owner ever stops by to see the disastrous line ups and the staff slack offs!
I like the bagels here. Normally end up buying a dozen or half a dozen at a time. They are definitely good although I wish they could have included the cheese bagels in the same price range as the other bagels. My other gripe is that the toppings are very loose on the bagels and they keep falling off, a bit of a clean up is needed once the bagels come out of the bag. Ordered bagel sandwiches from there as well and they were actually good. Probably some cents more expensive than Tim Hortons. So if I were to spend my money I’d rather spend it here. They also have a decent collection of cream cheeses.
The bagel sandwiches are very tasty, the other pastries as well, but be careful with under baked pastries! The staff is hit and miss, I've had friendly and surly staff serve me.
I think it's one of the best place to get a real good fresh bagel sandwich in the morning. They prepare it in front of you and it's not all smash like other popular place. Good varieties of bagels and pastries too!
Haven't been to a What A Bagel in years. Went to this location at Leslie & York Mills on Tues, Oct. 12 before closing at 6 pm. There was no end-of-day sale. I bought a dozen bagels, cream cheese and pastries. I wanted a bag of assorted bagels but all that was available was one kind of bagel by the bag. I opted to select my dozen from the baskets. I got a mix of poppy seed and poppy seed/sesame. The bagels are not great. They're dry and toast hard. I don't remember them being like this. Maybe the bagged ones are fresher? I can find better bagels in the freezer section at my grocer that are sprouted and with higher quality ingredients. I grabbed a container of cream cheese from the fridge only to realize after I got home that the one I selected was light cream cheese but it didn't taste light which was good. Cream cheese does seem premium with no modified milk ingredients. I also ordered 6 of their fancy pastries which I thought were over priced. I had to point at what I wanted, not knowing what anything is called because nothing is labelled. The patties were just okay and needed microwaving before consuming. They looked better than they tasted. Service was good.
This place has delicious bagels. I would say better than Bagel House and Whole Foods bakery - 2 places I used to go to for bagels and croissants. Their bagels are softer and don't turn hard the next day. Also, appreciate the paper bag they bag the bake goods in. Hate the fact that Whole foods put their croissants in plastic containers that end up in landfills seeing as our recycling program is a broken system. I would give it a 5 star for food, but only 4 stars overall because the staff who serve you are a little slow. If you're in a hurry.best to go in the early AM so that there are fewer people.
Need a bigger place. Only 5 people allowed at one time due to the pandemic and there is always a long line up outside the store. Avoid coming during rush hours
Ordered over the phone for pick up. They were pleasant to deal with and our order was correct. I have always liked their bagels. Good Greek salad as well. Always nice to pick up brunch from them.
Currently adhering to appropriate COVID protocols, which is always nice amd reassuring to see.
This location is very clean, The staff is helpful, polite and friendly Everyone should visit and experience the amazing customer service skills and taste all thier great food. Stay blessed and safe.
Reasonably priced bagel creations or just plain bagels on their own. Baked in house. They also have baked goods like croissants, pretzels, danishes, although not as good as the bagels themselves. Reasonably priced bagel sandwiches made in front of you. A good addition to York Mills plaza.
This What-A-Bagel store easily deserves 5-stars. Best bagels around and everything they make tastes wholesome and delicious. Recommend buying their cream cheese as well. We recently tried the take-home containers of their amazing tuna salad and egg salad and we are hooked!
It was my boyfriend's birthday and we never tried What a bagel before because their locations are very far away from us.
We decided to go for their birthday special (buy 6, get 6 free) which is supposedly at "any location" as per their website. However, the employee first asked if the birthday was today, we said yes, and she said they did not do that. Disappointed.
We live is oshawa which has no good bagel places so this is a must stop on our way home after being in toronto for medical appointments. Its well worth the stop the have all the bagels we love and they are the best bagels i can think of closer to home. They have all the yummy cream cheese to and lox my favorite. Plus all the little bake goods i grew up on as a little girl. The staff are so friendly and hopefully I just love making my stop there its so yummy and worth every penny. Thank you so much What A Bagel customer for life.
I noticed here if you are a woman and there are men waiting to be served, the Phillipino ladies behind the counter will serve the men first letting the women wait.
What a shame. I don’t know why I bother going back to this location. What terrible service, the workers are too busy talking to each other to bother to pay attention to the customers. Due to their negligence I couldn’t even enjoy the bagel I bought because they gave me the wrong one. I have an allergy to the bagel they gave me instead of the one I chose.
Located at York mills and Leslie plaza close to Longos. Bagels are made on site. They have a good variety of your typical bagel flavours, sesame, multigrain, poppy seed rainbow, etc. You can also get other treats sweet or savory. You can also build your own salad or bagel sandwiches. I came here latest for their free bagels day promotion. They were organized and efficient, and cheerful! A winning combo! I'll drop by once in a while to get a bagel with cream cheese if I'm craving it. Always satisfying! Some seats located outside of the store if it's nice out. Otherwise, bar seating inside near the window can probably seat 3 or 4 people, maximum.
It's an amazing place to smell and buy the freshly baked bagels. It is a small bakery with five or six high chairs to sit for a quick bite. However, it isn't my type of seating. Free parking is available in a very busy plaza.
It is a bit small however it is a worth while. If you're lucky your bagels will drop from the oven while youre there. Their selection of bagels and other bakery goods are phenomenal. I also buy a chive cream cheese, it is one of a kind and if thats not your thing they have all different kinds of high quality cheese and toppings for a bagel sandwich. It's worth the line up and price. Trust me if you love a good bagel and haven't been to any What A Bagel locations you're missing out. Go now.thank me later
I come here for the amazing fresh bagels. They’re warm right out of the oven. I’ve even come in at around 1 pm on a Saturday and they’re still pumping out hot and fresh bagels from the oven. Because it’s popular there’s a high turn over, which means fresher product
I don’t really like there muffins or pastries, I find them too sweet and the pastries not very flakey, more so dense.
They have a great selection of flavored cream cheese.
Fresh bagels are the best. I've noticed new management here from a few years ago and the bagels are smaller and servers aren't very friendly. Looks like they offer more sandwich fillings now but it would greatly help if they were labelled. Still a good place to get freshly baked bagels.
What can I say.everything's fresh and O so Good.only problems is what to decide on Too many Choices, but that's half of the Fun Driving yourself Silly figuring that out
