After numerous attempts to find someone to helps us with our gardens, we feel very fortunate to have found Whitby shores, they literally saved our gardens.

Andrew is a good owner/operator and he values his customer relationships. The landscape designers he works with are top notch. We had some heaving issues in areas after the winter and Andrew had his team reset these areas. I'm a bit worried how they will hold up over this coming winter, this waits to be seen, hopefully it's okay. Andrew's other subs (mason & deck) were also really good teams. Had a couple minor issues with schedule and on-site staff but this can be expected with any large project, and Andrew handled it all very professionally.

Work was backyard redesign and patio (interlock) work.
Overall, we had a very good experience with Whitby Shores and lucked out a bit that work was done ahead of schedule in April this year vs.contracted end of July/beginning of August.

The crew was great and cleaned up the work site daily and overall at the end and took away all garbage/disposal stuff. We had crew of 5 for about 7-8 work days total.

Like with anybody else doing contract work these days, some double checking and verifying has to happen daily to make sure they don't go too far with something that wasn't in plan or change things during installation.

The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because there is always room for improvement, and I wish things were not a bit rushed at the end. I do have to re-do the 400sqft of sod as what was laid that didn't take. Not sure if that is because sod was low quality or because there wasn't enough soil base, etc.

I would recommend them and use them again.

We decided on using Avoca Pools and Whitby Shores as they partner up to make a seamless transition. Once the pool guys were done their work; the landscapers were here the next day at 7 AM to start their job.

Jake and his team at Avoca were always on point with the pool installation. Constantly giving updates on timelines and next steps. Very knowledgeable.

Ryan and the landscaping crew were fantastic. He always had questions to ensure we were getting exactly what we wanted. Lots of suggestions as we bounced ideas off each other. Very comforting since envisioning our backyard from a drawing can be overwhelming. He really took pride in his work.

Victoria was fantastic to deal with. I received a response to every question within 1 business day. She always updated on next steps and was available for any questions.

We had about 10 different workers from each company here throughout construction. Each member of the team was very personable and passionate about doing the job well.

Highly recommend both Avoca Pools and Whitby Shores.

We used Whitby Shores for a backyard reno and it was kind of a pain from the start. Let me start with the positives from our experience. Crew was friendly, Victoria was pleasant to deal with, and our finished patio looks great.
Now for the negatives (which outweigh the positives).
Andrew lacks integrity and was very condescending when he spoke to us (also only saw him in person when it was about money). The sod at the end was very rushed just to finish the job, and a month later we are now seeing the result of this. Minor issues came up at the end of the job and it was like pulling teeth getting these issues fixed. Example of this was the wood warping on our privacy wall, which I was told "well wood warps" instead of coming up with a solution. Somehow we became carpenters and suggested a solution to this problem.
Pay close attention to the quotes, as they are Lump Sum, and not broken down by item. So a lot of surprises can come from this.
We had read a lot of good things about Whitby Shores when we chose them to do this work, and we wish we had the same experience as the 5 star reviews on here. Our experience was a lot more like the 1 star reviews.

The reason we went with this company is because right from the start, the owner came out to our house and made us feel like he had time for us which seemed hard to find in this industry. When it came time to design, we were so amazed at how our backyard was going to get transformed into this little oasis that they created. Then, time for installation, they installed a month early which was nice and the team at Whitby Shores Landscaping was so professional along the way. There was always open communication and they were happy to make changes with us as the design came to life. We got everything done including our pool through them and so we were never having to deal with contractors to organize timing. We dealt with our one lead and that was it. There were also no hidden charges which again, I hear is something hard to find. We fully trusted both the landscaping team and the pool installation team and are beyond happy with the final product! Our backyard which I hated last year, is now my favourite part of our house! This is a GREAT company to go through.don't even hesitate!

Would definitely recommend Andrew and the guys. From the start they were professional and timely in everything they did. Our pool patio and landscaping came out beautiful and we're extremely happy with it. Andrew, Kevin and Victoria are knowledgeable and easy to work with. They really care about making their customers happy and doing the job right.

Ryan and his crew were amazing, couldn't have asked for a better landscaping crew. Ryan would always consult with me or my wife to see what we wanted to do or what we preferred or what their plan was for certain areas of the yard. He and his crew worked like mad and got a huge job done very quickly and with a high degree of quality.

There's only one thing that I'd recommend to Andrew and Kevin, and that would be to please be double clear about invoicing and communicating changes to the invoices, as there were a few hiccups with communication on what was actually being invoiced versus what we wanted done. It's minor in the overall scheme of things, and overall we're 100% happy with the work that was done.

Everything that people have said is true about them being unprofessional and not sticking to their promises. Avoid. No matter what the office people respond with you should find another contractor.

I have used their services for 3 years now. Their service is exemplary. 100% reliable an consistent all summer long. I would highly recommend using this company.

We are very happy with Whitby Shores Landscaping. Andrew and his team were very professional from start to finish. Victoria, their office manager was very sweet and patient and accomodated all our requests and provided suggestions that helped us with some of the decision making. The crew onsite - Hunter, Jake, Kyle & Shantal were very professional and completed the work as per schedule. They even did some changes to the design which helped us save some money. They had cleaned up at the end of day and never left any mess around when they left for the day. These are little things but it definitely makes a difference. My neighbours very pleased with the way they handled the project. The workmanship is great and the end result is absolutely amazing. Since it was late October we did not go for any plants. Cant wait for Spring when the crew will be back to help with the plants and excited to see the end result.

We called Andrew to design and install new stone work in front of our house and to expand our driveway. He and his crew did a great job. They showed up when they said they would and worked very hard. They even removed an old fence and built a new one for us at the same time. The whole project was completed in two days. I would highly recommend Andrew and his crew.

Andrew and his team did a fantastic job at our house. He did a nice big patio pad and a path that goes all the way to the front of the property with a bit of driveway interlock as well. Received several quotes for comparison, Andrew's prices are well balanced, on fact quite good and he described how exactly how he would do the job and answered all our technical questions.
