Wildcraft Grill + Long Bar

Food was just ok, and not worth the price. No free bread or starter.
Got the 14oz steak. Didn’t seem to be 14oz, and the entire meal seemed small. Much better value at the Keg. No one even offered any fresh ground black pepper.
Atmosphere looked good, but too loud.

Great dinner and service. Tiny duck tacos, tuna tartare and steak frites were really good! Server was friendly and attentive. Ambience was nice - music was playing but we could still hear each other talk without having to scream

Very busy place with the same varied menu and excellent wine list. My only issue was the laid back seats.

What a great experience with my father and young adult son. Each of our menu items was superb in taste and presentation. The patio was well laid out and easy to have conversation in. The service was excellent and prompt. Wildcraft will be a regular favorite for us.

We arrived and there were not many people there. This was our first time. They explained they had all the tables reserved until 845pm. We were offered the patio which looked lovely or the bar which we chose. The bartender that waited on us talked about the three dips for our fries. I have never eaten ketchup in my life but they have their own homemade which I tried and loved. The chipotle was good also. The lady that served us dessert explained that during the weekend a reservation is a good idea. We felt a little underdressed but everyone was super friendly and the door was very tasty.

Got seated 9pm and left 9: 45 without food or water: (It was not busy at all and no one came to our table, ever. They cleaned the tables around us and walked past us for so long while we waited. They close at 11.

Excellent food. I had the Pistachio/Zuchini/pepper Rigatoni. Polite servers and the beers were cold and fresh.

Great meal all around.

We went for a late-ish dinner trying to avoid the move in university crowd.

Walking in the place had an upscale feel to it which is not what we altered after but we we hungry so decided to stay.

The prices ended up being reasonable, especially for what we got.

They had a bunch of beer on tap and I got to pick from 4 IPAs so was happy.

For the second round they have Partake which is one of the better non alcoholic beers. This was perfect!

Our server was good and kept us looped in because the food was taking a while

In the end we had a great meal and will definitely stop in again when we are in the area.

We're at Wildcraft for anniversary dinner tonite. Food, drinks atmosphere and waitress were excellent. Will definitely return.

Great restaurant with a beautiful interior. Service was good. The food took some time to come but it was yummy. Only thing I didn't like was that my fries were a little too salty but the steaks were perfectly cooked and the cheese dip was delicious.

Fabulous meal here. Would highly recommend the gluten friendly menu for anyone who eats gluten free. It's very extensive and delicious!

Found this restaurant by accident. What a gem! Everyone's meal was delicious. The appetizers were lovely and the wait staff attentive and friendly.

The best way to describe this restaurant is that it is an upscale version of a moxies/earls. They got a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Personally, I ordered the VENISON BURGER, THURSTON HOWELL steak, LUG TREAD beer, a coke, and PHYLLO BAKED WHITE CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE. I found the venison burger to be tasty. The buns were soft, the ingredients were fresh, and they gave a good amount of fries with the dish. The steak itself was a big flavorless to me however; the sides (especially the mash potatoes), were amazing. The lug tread beer is something I really recommend at this place. Their coke was really water down and had no carbonation. The cheesecake was creamy and not too sweet.

The service here was top-notch. They were extremely friendly. They made great recommendations and continuously checked up on us to see how our meals were. I have to give a shout out to our server Nikki. Once I told her my coke was water down and lacked carbonation, she got me a new coke and put soda water to help with the lack of carbonation. I appreciate her effort to help deal with the carbonation issue.

They got lots of TVs. The bathrooms are clean. Lots of space to entertain your guest. The ambiance here is great. This is a good spot to bring your friends or your date for a first date or for the big game.

I gave this 4 stars only because the steak wasn't that great for the price they charged, and their water down coke. I recommend this place to anyone in the area.

First time visitor. What a great experience! Staff is very friendly. An extensive menu that was not overwhelming. Great ambience. Great kitchen. If you are in Waterloo make sure you visit Wildcraft!

Not what I expected at all, this was my 4th time at wildcraft and idk what it is but a lot has changed. I am so disappointed because this was a solo self care date and I had a really bad experience.

Let’s start with my starter, I had the BISTRO SHRIMP TEMPURA - 2/5 - my shrimps came stuck together, tried to use a fork and knife and my plate became a mess.

On to my main, I initially got the SEARED SEA SCALLOP + PRAWN RISOTTO - 1/5 - I can’t even explain this dish, the saltiness is all I can explain.
I sent it back (they were nice about the sending back process)

I replaced the risotto with ALE BRINED + ROASTED CHICKEN SUPREME - I never got to eat it at the restaurant because I got my food without cutlery and had to wait a bit before finally getting someone’s attention (not really their attention because it was my server who just came to check up on me. All the other staff I tried asking acted like I was invisible) but I’ve had this before at I’d say it was 5/5 because that’s the only reason I came back.

My drinks- 1st drink was amazing, so I tried getting the same thing again and boy the difference was as if it was made in an entirely different restaurant.

My server and two ladies who I think are managers made this somewhat okay because they seemed like they actually cared but overall this was not it.

I got cake pops at the end‍️. Don’t eat them but i did lol.

Came here for a patio in October with a group of 5 and the service was extremely friendly and on point. The service alone is enough to return but the large portions of food and care for each dish is another big reason to come back.

All appetizers (tuscan kale salad, pork belly bao, and artichoke bruschetta) were delicious and had very unique flavours. The 14oz round eye steak was extremely tender and well presented. The steak sandwich dip was a massive portion and I could only finish half after the share of appetizers.

I would very much recommend Wildcraft for a casual dining and drinks atmosphere with high-quality food and service. They also have a large drink selection for beers and cocktails and ample patio space with an abundance of heated areas for cooler weather.

This place never disappoints! The braised beef was exceptional and the sides were paired perfectly. The icing on the cake was the professionalism and beverage knowledge of our server, Troy. We were astounded by his knowledge and expertise. Keep it up!

The service was wonderful! The waiter recommended his favorite assortment of mushroom dishes. The beautiful interior décor, accompanied by the presence of a plethora of senior citizens created an eloquent dining experience. We were the youngest, hottest patrons in attendance, but that by no means diminished the quality of our time spent there!

I had not been to wildcat in years maybe even decade but went for a good friend's birthday. There was a larger group of us and we had a limited menu which was fine. My food was good.my cocktail (Brooklyn sour) was even better. Service up to that point was good.then it came time for cheques. When we ordered they took our names as we were all paying separately so that should have made it easy right.we waited an hour and some of pur bills still weren't right or they were missed all together. Will I be back, maybe for cocktails.

Great atmosphere! Great food! Great service! My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary here with our kids ad had a great time. Our food came very fast and it tasted amazing! Our new favourite place. Will definitely be going back.

Slightly upscale restaurant with nothing to make it stand out. Food is good, drinks are decent. They are appropriately priced. Nothing exciting, nothing bad.

Disappointed. My pregnant wife and I decided to go out for a late Sunday night dinner and decided to give wildcraft a try. Staff were very friendly. Our booth table was clean but the floor under was dirty with food pieces We ordered the small duck tacos and the cheese dip. The duck tacos were really awful. Meat didn't taste fresh, too many peanuts that were too strong tasting and and unappealing grilled slices of lemon which was a first for me. For the mains, we order the lamb burger, which apparently the kitchen ran out of; So we instead opted for the regular burger which was ok for a pub quality. The seared scallops risotto pasta was very plain and didn't really go well together. We were debating between the Keg and Wildcraft, but Wildcraft is now more of a pub food and atmosphere rather than upscale restaurant.

Just dropped off my kid at university and after a long day of moving we stopped off to eat at Wildcraft. We were very pleasantly surprised. Great menu, great quality food and service. Totally recommend

The service is always good. Waitress is there enough without hovering. Meals were excellent. 6 of us dined and all had different meals. Everyone loved the food. I have been here on multiple occasions and food and service has always been great

The service was really great and the staff were friendly. The food seemed a bit expensive for the quality though, it was very heavily salted and seasoned and it didn't suit my pallet personally. I think the price was a bit high. You can get similar quality with more bang for your buck at someplace like Montanans or Kelseys.

Amazing menu, stunning interior and an amazing staff. First time here, and can't wait to come back.

It pains me to write this 2-star review because the food is good.

What's not great, what's terrible, is the service. We've waited upwards of 40 minutes to get our food. When we asked the waiter, Marissa, she had a superbly unsatisfactory answer. She was just literally buying time. Adding all the modifiers she could muster, shortly, soon, coming right up without really telling us why our food has taken this long to get to the table.

And when it DID, the terrible service continued. My friend ordered a spaghettini, so the waiter offered parmesan (which she didn't have on hand). My friend said yes, wanting parmesan cheese. The waiter then looked around all the tables before heading to the kitchen, coming back and asking us how things are going and totally ignoring that we just asked her for parmesan cheese. She then went back to the kitchen, made us wait for around 10 mins before we had our parmesan.

I'm here to have a delightful experience. I'm paying a premium to dine at Wild Craft and enjoy myself. I didn't and couldn't.

Honestly, get this waiter fired. She is probably the worst waiter I've had to deal with in a decade.

The plant-based menu is defs done well, the nacho cheese chips taste fantastic! We also ordered the bao (wish the bun was a bit more soft and squishy). The dessert was the veg brownie and hazelnut ice cream. Overall, delicious af dinner (and filling!)

Food and service is amazing there every visit! One of the best Margheritas I have ever had. Steak was like cutting into butter.

Came here about two nights ago. Such a beautiful place with amazing service. However… the only downside is the sashimi bowl I ordered had undercooked rice that felt grainy throughout. I wish the chef would have tasted a good sized portion before sending it out. I appreciate them searing the sashimi to give it that different texture on top but I felt as if it was seared too long, unfortunately spreading the temperature throughout & cooking the rest of the fish, leaving that nice raw soft texture sashimi requires to be missing… (even though it appeared raw enough before tasting.) On the other hand the steak? Was so juicy! And so flavourful and definitely mouthwatering. The potatoes were so creamy and fluffy and I loved the extra toppings they offer on the side to just top it off right. Overall though, such a cute place and a great night made especially with the phenomenal service from our waiter specifically, definitely worthy of the 30% tip.

Wildcraft and ALL eateries from the Charcoal group are probably THE best of their kind in this area. Variety, delicious and some unusual dishes, great service!

What would you do?
My wife and i went to try out there re opening. We asked for a table in the dining room. As we were getting seated we asked to seat by the fireplace. That table is reserved i was told. Another couple was told the same a few minutes later. We ordered our drinks and by then two well looking respecting ladies got sat a table away from us. They asked for the same table and the manager promptly re sat them. That was when i realized this is not the place for me. We offered to pay for the glass of wine which the server insisted that we don't have to. I am sorry that my jeans and sweater don't fit. I do not like pretentious places. My only regret is i should have tipped the server and for that i am sorry. Thank you making my future choices easier.

Beautiful renovation and great charming server, but the food was lack luster. I ordered the Ling cod and the best part of the dish was the eggplant that had some kind of glaze or something on it, which made it incredible. The fish itself was over cooked and the cabbage had no flavor. In hindsight I should of said something, but we were out as a family after a personal loss, and the food was not a priority. Might be back for a burger, as that's what I've heard is good and reliable.

Always been a fan of the Craft; that's what we call it out here in these cold streets. Service is solid, food is great, really cant complain.

Amazing staff. Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. We went for my husband's birthday, we're treated like royalty, and will be going back (over and over, I'm sure!). Top notch spot.

Surprisingly underwhelming. I used to be a big fan of wild craft and was very excited to go once it reopened. I was unimpressed with the wait staff and the quality of the food.

I tried Wildcraft on Friday to check our their new vegan menu and it was SO amazing! Lots of options. I ordered the "Chick'n Spaghettini" and it was delicious (I asked for the "chick'n" on the side) because I wasn't sure if it would like it and it was really good! Can't wait to go back and try the vegan desserts

Wildcraft is a favorite of ours, though I wish their gluten free options were more easy to decipher. Great cocktails. A nice place for a special meal out.

Used to be our favorite, food extremely salty. Dip for calamari was the worst one. Wine by the glass was pushing the limits I would say. $17 to$ 20 for a red.

Newly renovated space is very nice but I liked the original design too. Food was delicious but orders got mixed up by the new computer system. Thankful the server and manager were straight with us and provided updates and got us some extras to make up for it.

Been a while havnt been since the remodle but it is a Charcoal Group restaurant food was at the highest quality and service was a 10 out of 10

We were most impressed with the kids meal. It was awesome for the price, and my kid was super happy. The adult mains were good.not great. Our waitress really struggled though. Didnt know there was a special until the table next to us got told, drink orders got messed up. Had to come back after order was placed to have us fill in details.

Had an incredible meal last night at Wildcraft, and we were so excited to experience the changes since the renovations. Everything was perfect. We were kindly greeted at the door, quickly seated, and our server, Troy, was exceptional. He went over and above with every detail of our meal and visit. I was delighted when he asked about any dietary needs, and then offered a new full vegan menu! (Also a GF menu for those interested). The portion sizes are generous. Troy was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything at Wildcraft, and we really appreciated how the entire staff seem to enjoy what they do. There were a few groups around us, so it was a bit loud. However, so many great things to say about Wildcraft, so ‘Bravo’!

Classy and sophisticated, hip and trendy. This FINE establishment is simply one if the best places for a good time out with friends or family. Super cozy atmosphere. Seats you can lounge in for dayz.booths where you can have countless hours of socializing with your friends. The craftsmanship and superb everywhere you look. Very clean and professional. Staff was amazing from the time we entered to the time we left. Waiter was amazing. Best experience in a resturaunt ever. He asked if we had any allergies or dietary restrictions. We had a vegetarian with us and he brought out another menu which catered to her and also offered extra options for her. We had a 1 year old with us and he brought out a veggie platter free of charge. He even have us pointers in the best way to prepare our leftovers when we take them home. At the end of the evening, he congradulated me for being a new father. Food was absolutely amazing for the price. Highly recommend for any occasion

I went on Saturday for a relaxed, late lunch with a friend and to try out the new vegan menu. We had such fantastic, solicitous service and delicious meal. My friend tried the new mushroom soup and declared it to be the best ever. She also had the chicken salad (not vegan) and thought it was a bit plain; she would have liked more dressing or garnish or something (it was a creamy diced chicken salad on topping a whole 1/2 head of lettuce with tomato and avocado. I had the VW vegan burger and it was delicious - the bakon and cheeze were fantastic as was the Thousand Island dressing and the bun was perfect. My only comment was that the patty itself needed to be baked or crisped up a bit more. It's made with black beans, which are creamy, and they can be a bit mushy. I also tried the mushroom flat bread with mozzarella and blue cheeze. That was the THE BEST VEGAN dish I've ever had in Kitchener-Waterloo! Wow! Go go go and try this.

Went as a referral from a client. Perfect for a business meeting while sharing great food and drinks. Amazing service - friendly and professional. Great place for work group events too. Found out they do catering too. Definitely worth checking out!

This place has finally hit it's stride. It knows what it is and does it well. Haven't personally been since it opened years ago. I hope as they reimagine themselves in 2019 they hold on to what they found.

This is a beautiful restaurant, I really enjoyed the ambiance. Unfortunately the service was quite poor and the food was not what I expected. I ordered the shrimp and prawn linguine, there were only three small scallops and two shrimps. Also, this part would be my error, I didn't realize the pasta itself would be dyed black. It was quite off-putting and lacked flavor. When the server put the pasta down she noticed I was unsure and offered that if I didn't like I could try something else. The problem was, she didn't come back for another 10-15 minutes so I had to sit and patiently wait while my husband ate his supper. She also did not offer to refill our drinks so my husband had ice cubes with his steak. When she did finally come back she was apologetic but it was too little too late. I did not have to pay for the pasta and ended up not getting anything else. Overall I feel like I was ripped off.

Menu did not say nuts in a food item and I was allergic. Had a reaction and all servers and manager could say was "you should have told us" and I said "if there are nuts in a menu item it should say". The food was good but their attitude toward my misfortune was not acceptable.

Greeted from the moment we set foot inside. Prompt service from all staff. Food was amazing! The white chocolate cheesecake was divine! Melt in your mouth and very light! I will return!
