MISLEADING: "Wednesday Night All You Can Eat Fish & Chips". *ISN'T*

Management, I think you don't understand the core of the complaint, so I'll try to make it clearer for you. Advertising "All You Can Eat Fish & Chips" means the customer can have more fish *AND MORE FRIES* ("chips"), without any extra charge. You specifically told the waitress (we all heard you - we were at the table nearest the kitchen) that I could not have more fries unless I paid for a separate order of fries. That is NOT considered "all you can eat". THAT is what is MISLEADING. What you're offering is NOT "All You Can Eat Fish & Chips", you're offering "All You Can Eat Fish" with ONE free small side of fries. Additional fries are an extra charge.

Don't accuse me of being prejudicial when you don't understand the complaint and everything I mentioned in my review is factual truth. Are you saying all 3 people in my group and your waitress are liars? Are you denying that you charge extra for more fries when the sign says it's included?

Despite the giant sign in the window, the new Management neglect to let you know before ordering that if you want more fries (beyond the relatively small amount given to you with your first plate), you have to pay for them. Apparently, they don't even make their staff aware of it as our server seemed just as surprised as I was when the owner told her I couldn't have more fries.

They're not even fresh cut; just regular frozen mashed potato fries. Even with inflation, potatoes/fries are still one of the absolute cheapest foods a restaurant can serve. They're grown domestically in incredibly large quantities across multiple provinces.

On a dedicated AYCE night, one would imagine the kitchen would be prepared for repeat orders of the featured dish. It was a 20+ minute wait for the food and the restaurant was maybe 1/3rd full.

The fish itself was good, but they only allow you to have 1 additional piece at a time and the wait for that piece was again very long. I guess this is understandable as far as trying to minimize waste, but if a grown adult knows they can eat more, I'm pretty sure it's safe to let them have more than 1 extra piece at a time.

The soft drinks have almost no carbonation and an odd taste to them as if the machine hasn't been cleaned thoroughly. This was also the case the previous 2 times I'd been here. I didn't learn my lesson.

In the past, under the original management, I liked going here periodically for the AYCE fish & chips or their cheeseburgers. This french fry nonsense with the new owners is a bit ridiculous. If I wasn't with family I would have made a fuss about it.

Misleading customers isn't a great way to run a business. Either update your sign or at least let people know before ordering.

I won't be going back here anymore.

Always great service and great food! Every Wednesday after 4pm to closed they have all you can eat fish and chips. It was $11.

Update #1:
I went to last Wednesday for fish and chips. Price is only $1 up (last time I went to 4 years ago. So, it's still great deal. Because, only $1 up. Some restaurants are more getting up). Close was at 7pm. I went to around 5: 40pm. It was so busy. Almost seat are full. Cooking people are two and waitress was only one. We started to eat at 6: 15pm. That's why, I rated 3 star for service.
But, fish was crispy I love it. It was enough for one plate for me. But, still great deal for $11.99 Fish are came with 3 pieces. It was only Pollock but great taste. I'll be back for sure! Maybe I'll come in early next time. All you can eat started at 4pm.

Update #2: (2023/11/05)
I went to this Wednesday again. Because want to eat Fish and chips again. Lol I went to around 5pm this time. Because I remember last time when I go there at 5: 40pm it was cloud. But this time was okay. Only few groups are there. Food are delicious and I enjoyed this time too.

Saturday during lunch hour. I ordered The Cuban Sanwhich. It contained all the right ingredients with a side order of your typical government issued style of diner fries. The sandwich had great ingredients, but the main flaw and what ruined such a perfect selection of bread and ingredients was that THEY DID NOT PANINI PRESS IT! It would have been 10000x better if they did. I was so sad.

After watching the movie Chef 2014, I was craving a Cuban sandwich. I hope the owners and cooks watch this movie, so they know how important the panini press is for a Cuban.

Food was pretty good, enjoyed the eggs and pancakes but the fruit on the French toast was not great. Staff was helpful and friendly and the restaurant was clean. Reasonable prices as well.

Awesome dinner, the food was good and affordable. The dish I ordered was the chicken and waffle with holinaise sauce and the second is the special.

Went for breakfast take out. Excellent service, very fast. Friendly staff. Will be back for sure.
Update: Dined in, same great service.

Came in burnt our app and waitress offered 10% off I told her no. She said that they are busy and the fryer isn't working. I asked when our meals would be ready AGAIN the wings came out burnt and we left. If you are too busy and your deep fryer isn't working tell your customers don't make them wait for burnt food and blame it on only one server and the deep fryer issue.

My mom and I enjoyed breakfast, service was fast and friendly. Food came out & tasted just like homemade cooking! We look forward to coming in for lunch & dinner after seeing the menu.

Great food, for a great price. Waiters/waitresses are very easy going and knowledgeable. Cool 50-60’s era aesthetic atmosphere

Wow! That’s all we can say. My fiancé and I visit Wimpy’s often.but this time on aug long weekend monday, the waitress Joanne was no doubt the super woman! The restaurant was packed non stop and she was all alone trying to take care of all those people. If one has any sense at all, no complaints should even be said. Joanne was pleasant as always, and apologized for any wait. We absolutely understood and praised her for doing such an incredible job. This lady definitely should be rewarded for her awesomeness! THANKs Joanne! You’re rock!

We were there on the holiday monday and it was packed. Only one server and she was amazing! She's always super pleasant and makes our time there enjoyable. She's always working hard and should be rewarded for her work! Thanks again!

It's a Wimpy's what more can one say. Food is always good and I have been at this chains stores throughout Southern Ontario. Yeah the prices have gone up but then what hasn't. Had the club sandwich which is one of my favs and still is. This one is located on Hwy 24 in Cambridge in a outdoor mall and close to everything you can think of. Plenty of parking. Place was clean and that says something about management.

Service was poor. Dont know if they had a sick call but the Restaurant was full and only 1 person serving. Almost got up and walked out because of the long wait time. Burger was dry, not very tasty. Washrooms were not clean. Will not be returning to this location.

I haven't been here in about a year. Had a hamburger and fries. Fries were Ok but the hamburger meat was tasteless and was not homemade. Will not be going back

It was like walking straight into the 60's too bad the jukeboxes weren't working. The food and service were ok.

Very small diner. A little old looking but clean. Server was very nice and breakfast was OK. Home fries had been sitting for a while but the rest was fine.

We really enjoyed our lunch there! The servant was nice and attentive, she came to our table several times, asking if everything was good, or offering coffee. The food we ordered was tasty and freshly made, especially I loved chicken Florentine soup. Salmon was also very good. Definitely would recommend this place.

Food was absolutely delicious and our server was fantastic.

One critique I have is that the small amount of TVs were stuck on pictures of food and showing static images.
It would be nice to have some sports or news or something on the TVs.

Will be back for sure!
