It took a while for me to finally be ready to write this, but I just want to praise the staff at Wind Rose (at the time Talbot Creek) for their extreme care and diligence.
I never got the chance to start formally talking and working with my midwife as I had an early miscarriage, but the staff were incredibly supportive, helpful, and provided me advice and guidance when I began panicking because things weren't right (whereas my family doctors office shrugged me off). They were caring and even offered to call on my behalf to cancel any and all appointments related to the pregnancy so I wouldn't have to.
In short, I can't emphasize enough how much the staff at Wind Rose care and I recommend them to anyone I know who is trying to or has become pregnant.

We had our second baby with Talbot Creek Midwives. Nikki, Sara and Sylvia took care of us and have been absolutely phenomenal throughout. They are patient with visits and thorough with information sharing and resources. Thinking back to my first pregnancy, had I been in care here, I would've been much more prepared. I wholeheartedly recommend Talbot Creek Midwives to any expecting mothers.

The most supportive, caring, informative group of women! Before starting care we had so many fears and anxiety around pregnancy and birth. The crew at Talbot Creek midwives listened to us, validated us and support my entire family through the entire experience. They made sure every decision I made was an informed one and I am truly grateful for their guidance and support! These women will be your most supportive cheerleaders to make you feel like a badass for birthing a tiny human!

I can honestly say all of the Talbot Creek midwives are fantastic. We couldn't have asked for a better team to take care of us during our first pregnancy and birth. BIG shout out to Meg who was unbelievable before, during, and after! It was so hard saying goodbye after my 6-week check up, but I look forward to experiencing their care again during my next pregnancy. Thank you, ladies!

I had 2 amazing midwives at the komolka clinic who I wish would have been there when I went into labour, but my experience as a whole had been so traumatic that I'm reviewing a year later. It would take a whole book to experience what I had experienced and I hope no one else experiences it.
What would have been a beautiful homebirth became a disaster at my home from the midwives attitudes and then gaslighting my husband and I. Everything they did was to have my baby born quickly on their time and not with my body.
It ended with me at the hospital being surrounded by a beautiful team of women who allowed me to deliver the baby on my own and was able to leave same day. The nurses at St. Thomas hospital told me that this clinic had no rights at their hospital which the clinic had lied to me about and that the nurses had also heard horrible things about this clinic, so that was confirmation for me.
My head nurse told me I could have delivered at home and everything was perfect and normal. I feel robbed by this clinic to have my beautiful home birth. The only positive was that my son was born and I didmt need to deal with the midwives on call. One I had never even met before. There is way more detail to my story which i have witnesses to, included having me push at 3 cm, so i hope people are aware.
I'm still waiting for a call back 1.5 years later to discuss what happened

I didn’t want to delete my review from 2021, but I needed to add to it.
I used Talbot Creek again with a successful full term pregnancy. Again, I can’t say enough about how amazing my midwives and this team are.
I have so much respect and admiration for this profession after witnessing their role in my pregnancy, labor and after care. I am an incredibly anxious person, and with two previous losses, I assumed my anxiety would be through the roof. However, I felt so supported throughout my entire pregnancy and post pregnancy that I haven’t felt nearly as anxious as I thought I would. My midwives supported me so much throughout my labor and by coming to our home to check on us and our new baby. Every time they left, my husband and I felt so confident in what we were doing (and we were initially terrified as first time parents). Not only do they take such good care of the baby, they cared about my body and my healing. We still had access to the 24 hour call number for 6 weeks, and it was so helpful just to have someone to call and get a response from. I am so grateful I chose to use a midwife and am incredibly grateful for the amazing team I was given.

Unfortunately, I have miscarried both my pregnancies in 2021, and as devastating and heartbreaking as it has been, I don’t know what I would have done without the support of the midwives and this clinic. The midwives let me call all hours of the night. They followed up with one another and updated my chart so everyone was constantly up to date. I feel very grateful because I’m naturally an anxious person, and I haven’t felt supported in health care in this way in a long time.

Talbot creek are seriously the most amazing midwives! They were my care providers for my first pregnancy and I could not have asked for more caring and supportive midwives. Every appointment they make it clear that they are there for you and your decisions, and make sure you have the knowledge you need to have the best birth possible. My home birth went so smoothly in Sarah’s care. She was supportive and made myself and my husband feels as comfortable as we could be! The home visits after you give birth are amazing as well. Cannot say enough good things about all these women! Would not chose anything over a homebirth with midwives for future children because of the amazing care I received here.
