Windermere Place I by Drewlo Holdings

Apartment and location are good for students. Don't rent if you have a car, they force you to buy parking in 1 year intervals.

Love living here! However the pool is a hot mess of an area. The pool deck hasn't been swept in 4 months. There is dirt everywhere on the pool deck. Plus now there is an ANT problem near the two benches at the back. When we bring this complaint to the building managers, they say it is not there job to clean it. Everyone not there job, not there job. I knew Drewlo cares about their buildings but the managers here are dropping the ball in the cleanliness of the pool.

Do NOT rent this apartment. The management (Amanda and Jeff) is terrible. The property manager, Amanda is unavailable almost all the time. Maintenance issues do not get fixed. The lobby and elevators are filthy. The apartments are not cleaned properly before move-in. If there was better management, this would have been a good place to rent. Unfortunately the current property manager is ruining Drewlo's reputation.

This was our first apartment that we rented together as a new family and have nothing but good things to say. The building managers always made sure to adhere to COVID restriction guidelines to ensure safety, the entrance and hallways were always clean and we never had any maintenance issues. We always felt safe and comfortable and the surrounding areas had amazing trails. The buildings are in a quiet location away from high traffic areas and the view from our balcony was amazing. Other tenants were always very kind and gracious. We spent an amazing year there. Thank you!

These buildings have been here for a few decades now and they’re still holding up well. A relative of mine has been here a few years now and they’ve enjoyed it immensely. ️

My husband and I rented at 655 and recently moved out after 6 years. Summing up our stay, we left at the right time.

Pros:
- The area is absolutely wonderful, walking trails and nature right outside your front door. Not easy to find in a rapidly expanding city like London.
- If you have children in school, the schools in this area are top notch, with English, French and Catholic schools within close distance for walking or bussing.
- The units themselves are very spacious, and the balconies are oversized enough that even the "small" ones feel huge. You can fit an entire patio furniture set and a BBQ and still have room left over!
- Underground parking is very nice with our harsh winters.
- Most people in the building are extremely nice, personable and respectful.

Cons:
- I don't know who is padding the pockets of people leaving fake reviews, but Amanda (at 665, covered 655 during our stay for a period of time) is extremely rude. I have never had one pleasant interaction with her. She has told me issues I've called for are not her problem, no matter what they are dealing with. Once, we booked an elevator for service so that we could move some furniture. We waited over half an hour passed the start of our time with her not showing up. When we called she said "Yeah, you booked it, so use it" and seemed like her coming to put the physical elevator on service was the biggest inconvenience she has ever had in her life. She also yells at building workers in front of tenants. I cannot imagine her interactions with people in her actual building.
- They closed the pool and started work on it almost an entire calendar year ago and it is still sitting not done. I don't even think it's close to half finished. I know COVID would have affected the work, but they stopped in October of 2019 and haven't touched it.
- The main reason we moved to this building in the first place was it was a lot of DINKs and seniors. We wanted a nice, quite home to relax. Reading on the balcony, enjoying the sounds of the river. The buildings are now full of families who use the courtyard as their own backyard, leaving their toys out, having parties and making noise at all hours of the day and night. There was over 150 people in the courtyard for a party and the building managers did nothing (this was during COVID).
- The underground parking is anything BUT secure. It took two people breaking into cars over and over for a period of three weeks before they ever actually installed security cameras. Even then, if something happens to your car, they say it is impossible to prove. I personally spoke to a police officer who was in the building last month as someone had their motorbike stolen out of the garage and my husband and I both have had our cars broken into twice during our 6 years.

We enjoyed our stay in the beginning and were close to leaving when Chris and Ellen came in and were the supers. They were an absolutely wonderful couple who clearly took pride in our building but since they left last December it's just been going downhill must faster than before. We are leaving at the right time for us (we ourselves are DINKs), but I am sure a young family would enjoy living there with all the new, large families that have moved in.

Love windermere place 2. Amanda and Jeff are amazing. Being older I love the fact they have really been on top of everything with covid. I always see them cleaning and disinfecting. You can tell they love their job and tenants by their tone and detail. As we are in a world of mask now you can tell they are always smiling and trying their best to help in every situation. Kudos and keep up the great work Amanda and Jeff.
Ps hope to see you dressed up again this year for Halloween

Very nice apartment but something wrong with woman manager. Not the way to do business being very rude and unprofessional. Asking for help you are made to feel like you are nothing to her. So rude, cannot recommend Drewlo for this reason.

I have lived here for many years and I must say it is great. I am a senior with health issues and I love how drewlo has stepped up and is making us feel safe. Amanda and Jeff are amazing always cleaning and disinfecting.

I would like to give my building manager Amanda a huge virtual hug. As a senior I feel so secure with everything going on in the world. She is always disinfecting and always has a smile on her face. She is always so polite and friendly. If she is ever having a bad day you would never know. She is a joy to have as my building manager and her husband is just as great. They are always will to help and always bring a smile to my face.

I lived here many years and still love here. Amanda and Jeff are amazing. They always asked how my dad was as he always came to visit. They even offered their condolences when he passed. Amanda and Jeff are a great assest to the building. They are always willing to help and I always see them cleaning and the are very fast at tending to work. Thank you for all you do

Nice grounds, messy inside. Workers they bring in leave garbage in garage/stare at the women making them uncomfortable.
Very unsafe driveways, no sidewalk and cars speed by. Noisy and scary.

I must start off by saying amazing place to live and such great managers we have. I have been here for about 4 years and in that time I have seen Amanda and Jeff do double duty and have countless days off. They always are willing to listen and help when they can. I give these two my utmost respect.

Drewlo does take very good care of the grounds, even in winter. The apartments are nice size. Great location and people who live here are very nice.
Only problem is it's not very clean on inside. Pool room has a lot of mold. The hot tub has one jet that works of 6. Sauna never gets hot either. Theres also mold on some walls. They also changed the locks in the day time without giving anyone notice, some of us were locked out as we were at work when they did this.
Managers are okay, some days she is very mean but he is a really nice guy.

I’ve been living in 655 windermere since 2011 and we’ve never had building managers as wonderful as Ellen and Chris! They’re extremely professional, kind, friendly and helpful and provide all tenants with the greatest assistance. No matter what time of day, they always respond to tenants’ calls and messages instantly. Thank you so much Ellen and Chris for all your effort and hard work you put into this building to make it the best and comfortable place for us to live in!

This is a great place to live. The complex is safe, clean, and offers great amenities. Plus, the building managers Ellen and Chris are professional, courteous and dedicated individuals. They provide excellent tenant service.
I can't recommend it/them enough.

I must start of by saying that I have lived here for 20 years. I love it here. Drewlo is constantly doing improvements to the building. Yes some of it is stressful and a lot of pressure is put on my building manager Amanda. She is always friendly and patient with everyone's dealings. I would not want her job for all the money in the world.
I read a review on here that says hot tub closed for 5 years with no fix I seriously had to laugh as I use the pool and hot tub every single day. I also laughed about the cleaning comments as I know for a fact they are done weekly as I joke with Amanda all the time when she is on my floor and say are you coming in to do my apartment. And for the walls it's scuff marks from bike tires and walkers or people putting their muddy feet on the wall.
This is our home and we should treat the building as such. Our building managers cannot be expected to stay in one area and clean it every 10 mins they have lots to do in a day.
I hope my building managers Amanda and Jeff are here to stay and I hope if they read the reviews they don't let the negative ones get them down they truly are an asset to Drewlo. I would love to see the complainers walk a day in their shoes and see what they have to deal with and maybe it might change their attitudes about their comments and start to appreciate all the hard work that goes on.

My husband and I enjoyed living in these apartments. The location is top notch and so are the families that live here. Drewlo’s Quality is a class apart! What makes this extra special is the care and attention to detail both Ellen and Chris provide to this place. Our transition into the apartment and while moving out to our new home has been very smooth because of Ellen, she’s a very hands-on Manager who truly has the tenants best interest in mind. Chris is very friendly and helpful. The amenities are great and always kept in the best shape and clean. This is the place I’d like to retire when we downsize.so definitely will be back.:)

We have been living at 655 since 2012. The building is kept in the best shape possible. Credit goes to Allen and Chris and have worked really hard to bring it up to where it is today. They are available to listen and respond quickly. Very homely place. Good community. It is safe and close to Western. I would highly recommend to anyone.

We have lived in Windermere I for 3 years. Our superintendents (Ellen and Chris) are kind and and truly care for the tenants in their care. Most conversations in the elevator with the other tenants, usually made reference to the great people Ellen and Chris are.
The building is kept so clean. Ellen’s and Chris always answer their phone and address what ever issue comes up.

I can't say enough about Ellen's helpfulness! She went above and beyond to assist my mother in acquiring a unit. She was patient, kind and genuine in her concern and assistance. Ellen is to thank for reducing the anxiety my mother was experiencing, and I believe my mother feels she has made herself a new friend, which is a relief during this time of transition. Helen and Chris are amazing and caring building managers, professional and expirienced. We are staying here for more than 3 years now and enjoying being here. Superintendents are there to help any time you need anything. Because of them we feel like at home here.

Placed on a quiet, peaceful road, flanked by forest trails on both sides, is Winderemere Place 1, London, Ontario. I have been staying here for past few months and feel this one is the best amongst all the Drewlo Holding Apartments. Entering this eleganlty designed, nice smelling, cosy lobby, makes me feel glad that I have come home. The building is sparkling clean. The garbage room too smells of caramel popcorn! The other night, while doing laundry, I was surprised to see the lady manager who is the head supervisor, cleaning the laundry room! Had to give this place a 5 star!

We have lived at 655 Windermere since 1994 and loved living in this area of the city. The last 5+ years the building had issues with finding good superintendents and often we’ve had none, Chris and Ellen have been a great addition, the building is now clean and maintained on a regular basis. When you ask them questions they are always friendly and don’t make you feel as though you’re inconveniencing them.

I have been living at 655 Windermere for over 3 years and I continue to enjoy it here. The location is quiet and close to shopping malls, the bus route, and walking trails. Our current superintendents, Ellen and Chris, are always helpful, respectful, and friendly. Getting maintenance workers in to service your apartment is quick and easy. The relatively low costs of rent offset the downside of living in an older building. I would recommend this building to anyone looking for value in an apartment in London.
