CUSTOMERS BEWARE!

In Nov 2022 I had Ottawa window medics "defog" 7 windows in my
home. I was told by the tech “N——-“ that the results would take approximately 4-6 weeks to see improvement. I never saw any improvement in fact they all got worse. I communicated this to them and they told me to wait longer. In March 2023 I contacted “N—-“ again telling him my windows i had no improvement and never received a response. In July 2023 I asked for a second treatment and was told they wouldn't do this for me. I sent them photos of my windows showing no improvement, again they said no they wouldn't treat my windows again. Their "warranty" process is to provide over priced quote on replacing windows. In Sep 2023 I received a completely inflated cost estimate of window thermal replacement which was 2.5 times higher than other estimates I received. I advised “N—-“ i was not satisfied with this resolution for a "warranty " and requested a refund for the original invoice i paid in Nov 22.
I then contacted better business bureau and requested they negotiate a refund. Ottawa window medics ignored the bureaus requests for contact.
This seems to be indicative of what they do on reading other complaints on the BB bureau website.
They also like to accuse their customers of posting fake reviews if they wish to not use their name online. Then they respond to the review posting the customers full name from theiir invoice without consent.
This is a bullied attempt to get the customer to change or delete the review.
So potential customers please do yourself a favor check the complaints on the better business bureaus website and the reviews here. These guys will take advantage of you any chance they get from the intiial rush to get your 50% deposit onward. Then when your not satisfied will try and make it look like it’s the customer who is mistaken and dishonest.
STAY AWAY!

This company is a scam. They take your deposit and will not deliver and will not return your deposit. They do not respond to phone calls. Check Better Business Bureau for their bad reviews. BBB rating F. They took my deposit (over $300) in April 2023 and never delivered. Avoid them.

Wonderful service! Not only did our technician do an excellent job but he was such a nice man to deal with. Kind and efficient!

I have changed my review from a 1 star to a 4 star as this company does not have a customer service department and not responsive unless you make a complaint.
After 6 weeks, I finally got the window replaced and the installer Nasir did a great job.
I am happy with the final results!

Editing my review as Nasir contacted me on Monday Nov 13 and we scheduled the repair for Wednesday.the 15th. He came and did the repair, and it was great. Talking to him, I found out that he is the ONLY person doing this for Window Medics.

He explained that glass is taking a long time to come in these days and that he's *super* busy with installs and repairs. Nasir's work is great.l Kudos to him. I added a couple of stars because if you're willing to wait, Nasir's work is good. But you'll have to wait.

That being said, I'm still not impressed about the lack of communication from Window Medics themselves. If they spent as much time replying to emails as they do replying to reviews, things would be better. (Note to Window Medics: Of course you don't have any customer by the name of Dude. Dude Radley is my Google username. Invoice #1867.)

(An honest review from a previous remote employee of Window Medics!) (This is a real review and not a paid one!).

First, I am not writing this to damage the reputation of the company. I worked as a Customer Support Representative handling all customers. The problem about this company is that they don't really care that much about customers.

They care more about business/profit. I used to work with them for almost a year and they do have a lot of customers on pending and way past the timeframe promised to them. I even encountered some customers who have been waiting for a year for their glasses to be installed, and most of them are waiting for more than 3 months.

So why is this happening. It's simply because, they only have 1 Window Technician handling all the jobs! The Tech (Nasir) is great but, could hardly keep up with all the customers. The company owner (Michael), do not have any plans of hiring additional Technicians to help him. I even had an experience dealing with customers who are waiting for their Big Glasses for months, and been telling them that the Tech's Car broke down and he is waiting for it to be fixed. So i asked the owner to try to help the Tech, by letting him borrow or rent a car because customers are already getting impatient, Owner's response to me was "I already gave him the money to fix his car", i mean seriously Sir?

You once told me and Nasir that it ain't no rocket science to handle all customers, so i'm gonna throw it back to you, It also is not a rocket science to understand that X number of customers, would need Y number of technicians.

So will i still recommend this company? , I don't think so. Yes, they have a great tech and an innovative technology in defogging and repairing windows. But, i have to warn all of you that delays in jobs are imminent simply because, they only have 1 Tech!

My advice to the owner is "Try to care a little less about business/profit and start caring a bit more about your customers Sir! "

I have had the opportunity to use Window Medics on three separate occasions. They are the first and only company I call when I need a window replacement. They are fast, efficient, very professional and the work is amazing. Highly recommend!

I paid my 50% deposit on February 21,2023 and was assured that it would take 4-6 for the window to arrive and subsequent installation would take 20 minutes.

It has now been over 10 weeks and I have not had confirmation that my window has arrived or when it will even be installed.

Communication is one sided where I must reach out when Window Medics misses a deadline with a consistent “delay” rationale and “this has been expedited” response.

I would be happy to update my review if my window ever gets installed.

Nasir, the Technician, did an excellent job Caulking/sealing for 9 windows and defog 2 of them. He was polite and professional. Thanks guys

I guess I’m not the only one. Contacted Window Medics in September to get a quoted for a window to be replaced. They quickly got a technician to come out the next day. Blinded by how quickly they were able to have someone come out to give me a quote on my window, I decided to go ahead and make a deposit for the order on September 19th. 3 to 6 weeks for the order. Gave them 8 weeks before I called them for an update. Knowing that delays may happen but a little update from the company would be nice to hear. Customer service rep quickly got back to me and scheduled an appointment. The day of the install the technician supposedly was given the wrong window, left to go look for it at their warehouse and got no reply for an hour till I messaged him and saying it wasn’t there and that he had emailed the supplier. Gave them another week to hear back from them. Nothing. Contacted customer service again and got a text from Robert saying all deliveries have resumed. Been another week and no update.

Update: My front door window is repaired and the other has been defogged! Nasir was professional, friendly, and completed the job quickly. He also cleaned up afterwards. I'm glad he was able to fit me into his schedule.

Can’t wait to see the results after Window Medics replaces a broken window at my office and Defogs one of the windows as well.

Part One:
Elijah was very responsive to my inquiry of services and he was able to drop by the same day to observe the jobs. He was able to tell me the exact price on the spot for the services.

In the same day I received my invoice and I provided a 50% deposit to Window Medics. With the deposit, they let me know my window replacement would be ordered and it would take approximately 3 weeks to arrive. They would complete both the replacement and defogging at the same time. This was on September 8,2022.

I understand that Window Medics is very busy so I have been the one having to follow up. When I do communicate with Nasir who is assigned to complete the jobs he has been friendly and informative.

Patiently waiting for the job to be scheduled and completed. Last updated was that my window replacement was going to arrive November 25,2022.

I’m a new business owner so this is an exciting time but I am also nervous about who I can trust. Happy to see so many positive reviews from Window Medics.

Update: the company's response below is extremely disappointing, with several false statements. I have only now received a call offering to send someone back but we have resolved the situation ourselves (at considerable additional expense) after waiting 6 weeks for a solution to be presented. Highly recommend looking elsewhere for your window/glass needs.

I recently had Nasir from Window Medics defog 13 windows. Nasir was fast, efficient and super friendly. After performing the work, Nasir took the time to show and explain the process to me. Super appreciative of the work he performed in such a short time. Thank you!

I had a great experience with Window Medics. They were efficient (came for an initial assessment within a few hours of me calling) and Nasir, the technician who replaced the window pane, was professional, knowledgeable and gave great tips about handling my older window so I wouldn’t have any further issues with it.

Nasir from Window Medics stopped by today to complete a series of window repairs which varied from simple repair of minor scratches to a very complex job where we had a severely damaged smashed out window with a shingle wedged inside of it. In total he replaced three windows. Nasir was excellent, the workmanship he produced was outstanding; very professional, friendly, clean and the service he provided was beyond expectation. The job was very well done and we are very happy with the results for all three windows. Nasir was on time and arrived and completed the job within the time frame booked for our repair. He explained clearly what work he had completed and stated if we had any questions, concerns or comments that we could reach out and he'd be happy to help. Very happy with Nasir's work, his overall attitude and would definitely work with Window Medics again without hesitation if the need arises and in fact we would directly request that Nasir be our technician.

Nasir helped with re-caulking our large 6 pane window after we discovered a leak post-heavy rain and wind recently. He was on time, knowledgeable about all my window questions and personable/friendly technician. I highly recommend Nasir for the window caulking service.

I would recommend WindowMedics without hesitation. They were quick, not afraid of heights, replaced a large side window and defogged 10 others. The wait was well worth it. I would call them again. Very professional and knowledgeable. The team of two were quick and friendly.

Quick to respond to a message for broken casement window. Ordered window insert 2-4 weeks to deliver. They only request deposit of half the price, others wanted the full amount. I will update once I get the insert.

Ordered a patio door window replacement from Window Medics due to a broken seal on my tempered glass unit. Their quotation was very good compared to others I had received. Some unexpected delays in receiving the glass due to labor shortages at the manufacturer as well as available installers. Given the impact of the pandemic such delays were understandable. Eventually got the glass in and Nasir was able to complete the installation in an hour. Overall very pleased with the workmanship and would recommend them.

They took $60 deposit right on spot and told me, unless I give them 50%, they will not do the work. I argued that I should only pay, when the work is done. They came for free estimate and demanded 50%, which I paid, for I needed the fog out of my window. Person by the name of Elijah Hearns came for an estimate and told me, they will return me, my money, because, I never got anything done by them. But they never returned my deposit. They are basically cheating their customers by taking 50% down, even when the work is not done.

Consider this as 0 rating. I commissioned Window Medics Ottawa on March 31,2021 to replace 8 windows in 2~3 weeks Elijah advised. I immediately payed 50% of the $4277.26 invoice. They replaced 6 of the 8 windows in early May (after six weeks later same stories with others due to manufacture delay). In June, Nasir replaced the 7th window due to they missed order one but lied to the new owner that we didn't paid the invoice on time. They asked to make payment right after even there were still two windows have not been done and threaten to uninstall if we don't pay asap. I tried to work with them to get the 8th one replaced, including an offer to pay more money. They advised they would consider but never got back to me until home is sold and closed. Lied and manipulation ensued as they tried to release themselves of their obligation, including an attempt to replace a different window altogether and claim the work done. In one of the final correspondences with them they said "We are not a member of the BBB and you are not a client". They ignored e-mails and phone calls from me and it is now August. I filed my complain last night and please check BBB files for this company. Nasir told me that there was a manager I could called now I find out he is the manager. So many lies I could not believe it. As a realtor for over 12 years I used many contractors Window Medics Ottawa is on my top list NOT TO USE!

They were very straightforward with pricing and the work that would be required. Workers were efficient and courteous of our property.

Had a number of window deffogings completed, as well as glass replacement for a larger window and a smaller window.

New glass is beautiful! It's stunningly clear and there are no obvious signs around the frame that it was replaced. Couldn't ask for better.

One defogging didn't take (window seal was too far gone), they credited the defogging cost towards glass replacement as promised with zero hassle.

Would not hesitate to recommend for window repairs.

I have used Window Medics twice, once in 2018 for defogging and just recently for glass replacement for two windows. Both times Nasir and his team at Window Medics delivered a quality product and service in a professional manner. The defogging process did exactly what it was supposed to, clearing my large living room window of all the moisture that had built up between the two panes of glass. This time, the new custom glass that was installed fit perfectly and looks terrific. There was a bit of a delay between ordering and installation, but this is understandable given the current environment. Once a firm install date and time was agreed upon, the work was completed and we are quite happy.

Brilliant customer service from start to finish! Very responsive and professional. A real example of how it should be done. Both Elijah and Nasir we're very helpful and attentive.

Day one was wonderful and the final day of installation was wonderful. The service and delays and repeated measurement errors delayed this process beyond what was necessary. I was mostly upset with the lack of professionalism and level of communication.

Had several windows fixed and glass replaced. Elijah gave a great quote and we put a deposit. A little delay on install but no big deal. Nasir came to install and seemed nice and did seemingly good work. Stayed and chatted about things after.gave him advice on upgrading his vehicle as I do finance. He told us not to wash the windows for days. We waited the 2 days and noticed scratches on one window. No big deal we text Nasir to let him know and he assures us it will get addressed. Then nothing. We contact Elijah and start to get the run around. Fast forward 4 months of multiple texts and they admit it was a problem from the factory. But Nasir refuses to replace the faulty product he installed. We had planned on doing more windows after a seemingly good experience till this happened. More digging into this “company” it’s a scammy business with no storefront. We never thought much when Nasir showed up in a CAR with all the windows in the back but now that’s probably how it got damaged. Improperly transported. He just installs and doesn’t actually care about the product he installs. AVOID THIS COMPANY and don’t be fooled by their seemingly nice personalities. No BBB rating and now I see lots of the same complaints. Lesson learned. Luckily we have it all documented via text and small
claims we will get our money back.

Edit to respond- I posted a review the same day they were installed. We were satisfied. Then 4 months of back and forth between 2 people saying they have to talk to the other person and vice versa nonsense. I waited to post this review and gave you a chance to do the right thing. The day of the windows were filthy when installed and had sticky tape residue on them (understandably so) and were instructed NOT to clean them for 2 days. Hence why we didn’t notify you till 2 days later because after cleaning them with windex and paper towel.nothing that would scratch them. The scratch (about 5inches long straight mark) became noticeable after cleaning. We called. We have in text that You said the damage occurred at the factory.now you say we did the damage. I will be sure to recommend people to avoid this company at every opportunity. I know a lot of people and have the platform to do so. 4 months given the opportunity to correct the faulty product you installed and was patient and understanding when we were tossed back and forth and it took 4 months for you to properly respond and now blame us? Shameful business practice!

I did have to wait longer than I had thought for my replacement glass, but the service (done by Nasir) when it was completed was first-rate in every respect. Good, clean job, courteously and proficiently done, and I'm very happy with it in all technical aspects. Like others I was disconcerted that there was a long "lag" between my order and completion of the job, but I gather that Covid - as seems to be very commonplace amongst the many contractors I have dealt with this summer - has made labour in short supply. So many installers / construction workers are just not coming in to work. Some of the same challenges are being met by glass manufacturers / cutters - and again I have had direct experience of this for work I've had done on buildings in both Ottawa and at a place in the US. But when Nasir indicated our glass was received and committed to a date / time for installation, he was there exactly as promised and did a professional job.

I recently "September 2020" had my patio door glass replaced by Window Medics. The service I received is exceptional from the initial visit until the final installation by Nasir. He even went above and beyond to help me resolve mechanical issues with one of my windows. Thank you Window Medics especially Nasir.

I would highly recommend Nasir and the entire Window Medics team for their professionalism and quality of work. I hired them in 2018 to perform their defog process on a large window in my family room, and two years later the glass is still beautiful and clear. Excellent service and product. I was quite nervous about hiring a company I didn't know, since two years ago we had a horrible experience with a 'fencing company' owner who stole our 50% deposit. Nasir was empathetic and provided us with four referrals, whom I called. All gave glowing reviews. He replaced our front window 2-1/2 weeks after taking the order, for a very reasonable price. They are Great!
Kept to the agreed date, kept me informed and did a good job.

I recommend them certainly.

- Sept 9th called to get the window fixed.

- Sept 10th Nasir came in to take measurements of the window and place the order. Also the deposit was made on the same day on good faith believing they're professionals. Was told it takes 2 weeks on average to deliver and install.

- November 4th now and all I got is it's a manufacturer delay because I asked for the window to be tinted! How does this make any sense?

IMPORTANT POINTS TO CONSIDER.the invoice they sent me states the deposit MUST be made prior to placing the order and the amount is due in full when they come and finish the job, and it will cost you 1.5% interest per month if you if you're late on your payment. HOWEVERRRRR, it's 100% fine for them to delay your order for TWO MONTHS (still haven't received a thing) with absolutely no compensation! How does this make any sense!

I also have noticed how they attack those who give a bad review by calling them fake and unappreciative clients? !? !? ! What kinda of customer service is this? I'm waiting for them to call me fake client or a lier now too!

I have the invoice and all the texts between me and Nasir to this moment.

Basically I have paid $259.80 for Nasir to look at my window and leave! I should quit my job and do this instead!

Waiting for the response now, I'm utterly sick of this BS.

I cant say enough wonderful things about the company and the gentleman who installed my broken window. After having dealt with companies who just plain forgot to call me back or took forever to call me back, it was such a pleasure to deal with Window Medics.
They called back in 30 mins.

Worst contractor I've ever dealt with! Nasir was quick to show up, take some measurements and take my $ for a deposit but still hasn't shown up (after almost 2 months) to do the job or even take my calls.

Pretty sure this is just a "run-out-the-clock" kind of scam where they NEVER have any intention to perform the work; DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOU MONEY / BUSINESS!
