Wismer Park

Nice big park with lots of open space. Wooded area for a decent hike. Some free weightlifting equipment. Playground is small. Nice splash pad area.

We enjoy going to this park. If you park by the tennis courts, walk past the tennis courts and you'll find the splash pad, a playground for older kids, and a playground for younger kids. There are benches with shade. There are pockets of shade from trees scattered around the edge of the play area. It's enough shade for you to set down a picnic blanket. There's a roaming picnic table, if you can find it, that you can carry to a shady spot. There are two portable washroom stalls on the west side of the tennis court parking lot.

Well, it's a park, what can I say more than that. But if you're looking for a place to enjoy your walk and exercise then this is the place. It has outdoor exercise equipment that works well using your own weight.
Like playing or watching football? It has more than one field and quite often there is a game/s going on; tennis courts, basketball courts are there too. And, yes, children's parks and water splash area are also there.
If you like to do Yoga, Tai chi or some group activities, there is a perfect place for it too.
Of course, you will also find woods to walk through and some beautiful flowers garden to enjoy. Some people have uploaded photos of pond and ducks, I'm not sure cause I haven't seen any.
Well, what you waiting for, start moving. Instead of reading more reviews, experience it yourself. If you like it, Great! You can go there again. And if you don't it, at least you know, you made your own decision and not reading someone else's reviews.

Came here to fly some kites with friends and I gotta say. Don't do it. It's great for other activities like sports or just hanging out, but there are many trees and our kites got caught in the trees: (It was also windy that day though, so beware of the weather. There are two main parking lots at Wismer Park and the park itself isn't normally very busy, so definitely recommend coming here for a walk!

This is my home park grew up on these ends. Would like to see it maintained or refreshed. The soccer fields could use some work.not the best park but it's home for me so I'll give it a good rate. Fire works here during fireworks seasons are amazing. There is always a good show during canada day!

Amazing park, very spacious and always very clean. Lots of people here during the summer playing soccer and just strolling through the paths. Theres basketball nets, a tennis court, soccer fields and two playgrounds. Lots of parking as well. There is a small forest with gravel pathways, so sometimes it feels like you’re going on a hike!

Beautiful Park. I used to live nearby and always went here to hang out or to take walks.

Will always miss this neighborhood.

Popular East Markham Park!

We have been going to Wismer Park for years. I remember when I lived in the Cornell/Greensboro neighbourhoods this is the park I would take my kids to when they younger. Wismer Park has many features that can be enjoyed by families and people of all ages. On the outskirts of the park you'll find extensive stretches of grass, great for frisbee, or letting your kids run around. You will also find Tennis courts, soccer fields, two playgrounds, one for toddlers and one for bigger kids and a very good size woodlot with a few kilometres of walking paths. We love to go there in the spring so we can enjoy our Provincial Flower the Trillium. The woodlot is full of them in late spring, and I'm sure many people go there in spring to see the Trilliums as well. Wismer Park is just one of Markham's parks but a favourite for East Markham's residents. I'm sure you will enjoy it too.

Beautiful park with some small trails, swings for kids and splash pad. The play area has been maintained well. My daughter loves going to the park everyday. People come out to do barbecue as well with their tents in the evenings.

Great park with a large playground with soft mats installed throughout. Has a nice basketball court, 2 tennis courts, a few soccer fields and a forest city trail you can do a short hike in.

Beautiful spacious park. Good children's play area too. Good for walking, exercise or a silent peaceful retreat.

Biggest part in my community. Good for warm weather walk. There is a walking trail behind this park. There are three schools in around this park. It has a tennis court, soccer fields, basketball court and of course the area for little kids.

Just the NICEST park. Chinopokomons hanging on every tree, Teletubbies running around, and groundskeeper Neek Ras is always there to give a helping hand. 10/10

Leaves look gorgeous in the fall when they're changing colours. Since the gyms have closed, I've been using the park to do some workouts - the grass is quite clean and there's a lot of open space. Just stay away from the sidewalk areas if you see geese - not friendly and tend to leave a lot of poop in the area.

It's a great park, a lot of big open fields. If you are a pokemon go player there are some pokestops for you here, but you already know that. The parks has a small water play ground and tennis court. Great place to do a picnic in the spring or summer.

DO NOT GO THERE! Today I visited the park with my family and had to leave in a rush due to multiple small, green bugs clinging to us. I am not sure what type of bugs they are but it doesn’t seem that safe.

This park has a great area for younger kids. My toddler loves it! Plus it doesn't have sand so my daughter doesn't get as dirty.

Wonderful park. Spacious and lots of soccer fields for the sporty folks. Also has a couple of playgrounds beside it for kids. Very well maintained.

Can be a quiet park but often gets overcrowded and noisy. Walking through wooded area is very relaxing.

Nice park with lots of open areas, playground with splash pad, basketball court, adjacent wood lot, parking and excellent public tennis courts.

The two tennis courts have been resurfaced this year and finished with a genuine hardcourt surface and a fantastic paint job for the colours and lines. Additionally, the use of genuine nets makes these public tennis courts some of the best I have seen. And they have a sign that says no dogs allowed to keep the courts clean. The tennis courts bump this park up to four stars.
