Wok Theory 新天虹

Most dim sum i had was great (siu mai, beef tripes, bean curd roll) but i was very disappointed with the rice roll with fried dough. As seen in the picture, the rice roll is thick and fried dough is chewy and does not taste fresh. Its so bad that we couldnt even finish it and it costs $7.88.

Service was quick, place is clean and modern.no wait on a sunday at 11: 30am.

Definitely seems like a newer restaurant that hasn't caught on in popularity yet, but it is a hidden gem in Chinatown. Very clean, bright atmosphere, and staff are very attentive and polite.

I've been here for dim sum twice now and the food is very good. Prices are pretty reasonable as well. Will be coming back more often for sure!

Had a big dinner at Wok Theory and everything was delicious. It's like they have all the stuff I like in one place. It's also very nice and new looking inside. Will definitely be back again!

I know what you're thinking. "Oh, another Chinese restaurant in Chinatown! How original! " Okay, sure. And yes, like other chinese restaurants, the food comes out pretty quick after you order it. So what makes this place any different?
Well, the decor is modern, for one.

More importantly.the food
Long ago, I learned the secret to all great cooking in 2 words:
Fresh.
Ingredients.

By and large, most of the menu is not from boxes you can get in bulk order at T&T, and you can taste the difference. This husband and wife duo are doing their very best to share what they've learned from the kitchens of thwir families back in the old country rather than the commercial kitchens of.everywhere else.
As a result, the spicy food has flavour, the smells are frangrant without being flowery, and the colours are natural.
Great place.
Looking forward to trying more of their (extensive) menu.

I hate to give negative reviews. This place was nicely renovated and it was such a shame that I got diarrhea after eating there. This is unacceptable for a food business. I tried this place once when it was just opened. The service was minimum but the food was OK. When I went there again in the late afternoon this Saturday, I had the worst shrimp dumplings in my life and got diarrhea in the evening. The shrimp dumplings didn’t smell bad but the texture tasted so weirdly squishy that I had to request a replacement. (The servers were nice to replace it and waive the charge.) However, the one that I swallowed apparently was enough to upset my stomach. After I got home, I not only had diarrhea TWICE but a stomachache that didn’t go away completely until the next day… I should have seen the signs when the shrimp dumplings arrived oddly cracked! Something or someone must have done terribly wrong in the kitchen!

Love this new restaurant in Chinatown! We went with the family about a month ago and were really impressed. First thing you'll notice is this restaurant looks and feels nicer than most of the other restaurants in the area - the modern decor, fresh lighting and layout make it feel a bit more upscale than the other spots in the neighborhood. The menu is extensive, with all the favorites, and the food is made fresh, generous portions, and delicious. We tried several dumplings, a beef dish, chicken dish, and some veggies, and it was all really, really good. They've got some really fun unique drinks on the menu as well. The service was exceptional and that sealed it for us - our new favorite spot in Chinatown - everyone should check this place out. Kudos to the team at Wok Theory!

Chinatown has so many tired old restaurants, so it is nice to have a fresh, new place that has wonderful food. We had many dishes and all were well cooked, tasty with quality ingredients. Many Chinese restaurants give you dishes that are 30% meat and 70% filler (green pepper, onion, etc.), but this is not the case here. The size of the dishes is generous, and the quality is excellent.

Food was good, new flavours of the same dishes served in conventional Chinese restaurants. Cant say all dishes were good some were better than others but overall would recommend to try

I believe this place was a newer restaurant when I ate here last night. I was pleasantly surprised by the modern aesthetic this Chinese restaurant had. It was very spacious which gave a more comfortable and luxurious feel to my dinner. I feel like it would be a great place to have a family or birthday dinner! They even have private rooms for you to have dinner or lunch! The food was pretty tasty and very fresh! We ordered from the all day dim sum menu and it came out so steamy and hot! Will definitely go back and try their family style dishes!

Authentic Cantonese cuisine! My search is over. Make Wok Theory your next stop. Dim Sum, and radish cakes were highlights. The owner is a young man on a mission to serve real Asian dishes to us lucky people.

The price is flat and the standard is high. Especially recommend the afternoon tea meal, starting at 3: 00 pm, fried rice and fried noodles plus a little snack and food, only ten yuan ninety-nine.

We happened to walk by this place, look in, and then decided to give it a try. And are we glad we did! The server was extremely friendly (and patient!), and the food was - truly, excellent! We're all from NYC and so we feel like we know good food, and each dish we ordered at Wok Theory was on a par with the best we've had back in NYC. After the meal, the manager (owner?) came to the table, chatted with us for a while, and comped us ice cream (!). This experience was really fantastic, from the moment we stepped in to the moment we left. A block down the street we overheard a couple asking for recommendations for a good Chinese restaurant and we sent them straight to Wok Theory. I have no doubt that they are glad we did!

Visiting from London U. K.and honestly this is a total gem! We went for dim sum on Sunday morning and the food was delicious, the service was friendly and efficient. The whole place was very clean. We loved it! We usually like going to different places to eat when we are on holiday but we have to go back to try out dinner. Just wish we had somewhere like this back home!
