They are not wound care experts; and gave wrong guidance as to how to dress and care for an abscess wound. This incorrect guidance caused the wound to not heal for months due to hyper granulation; caused by the use of wrong bandages and incorrect changing frequency. If you're there for wound care post-abscess educate yourself on hyper granulation, and learn how to care for it properly. Ask for a referral to a Wound Care Specialist (what they call Home Care which is inaccurately named) who can treat wounds with more expertise. Ideally if you have hyper granulation talk to a medical professional who can prescribe about access to polyurethane foam bandages and steroid cream.
