Our experience at this clinic was unfortunately quite challenging. My wife underwent a Dilation and Curettage (D&C) procedure, but regrettably, it wasn’t performed correctly. This led to some fetal remains remaining in her womb, which necessitated another D&C due to a fault on their part. It was a painful and distressing experience for my wife, and it has caused her a great deal of suffering.

We had expected better care and attention to detail, especially during such a critical and sensitive time. It’s essential for any clinic to ensure they provide the highest quality of medical care, and in our case, this was not met. We hope that others do not face similar issues in the future.

Dr. Saira Markovic and her team like nurse Angelica provide exceptional services! I am amazed by the level of care I see and experience here at the Women’s Care Clinic. There is no doubt in my mind that we are in good hands no matter what we are coming in for and I can speak from experience when I say you will leave feeling better than when you came in. I have so much respect for these women and the treatment they are able to provide to other women. I appreciate all the support and the soothing atmosphere which is so uncommon elsewhere. I could go on forever…

TLDR: Dr. Markovic and everyone else here are amazing. Highly recommend. Disclaimer: my pain tolerance is near nothing.

I picked this place due to some positive reviews I saw on Reddit. I believe this is one of the only places that offers sedation. Once I was on my period, I booked an appointment through the phone: to be honest, one of the receptionists can be a little impatient (pretty sure she hung up on me when I asked more questions), but they got the job done. It's also super busy in the clinic, so it makes sense.

Unfortunately, I couldn't bring a companion into the clinic, which makes sense as it was quite crowded. I had them wait downstairs until I finished.

You bring your OHIP card for the appointment. I had an 8 am appointment, got called in, gave my health card, and waited a bit. It was quite busy, even at 8 AM. Then, got asked to come in for a session with the counselor, who was very nice. I wanted a copper IUD to avoid hormones, and was given the Liberté UT380 for $250. I also opted for IV sedation, which was an extra $100.

After I changed into the gown, I was called into the room. The most painful part was putting the IV in since my veins are terrible. Definitely would've drank more water next time. Eventually, they managed to get it in. After the IV got put in, I felt a bit drowsy, and everything was over before I knew it. I was astonished. I waited in the waiting room on a recliner with some cookies and water and just relaxed for a bit before leaving. Also booked a follow up appointment for 3 weeks.

All in all, took about an hour and half. Would highly recommend getting the IV sedation: I had been nervous about this for so long, but ended up feeling almost nothing.

Normally I do not leave reviews, but I figured I would leave one to quell some fears as I did before going in to replace my iud. To reassure some not all experiences are the same, and it doesn't always hurt!

I personally had a good experience. Waited 30 minutes pass my scheduled time (pretty standard for appointments though), they asked me if I wanted some pain medication, and offered me an alternative when I said I couldn't do ibuprofen (interaction with medication). Was also offered a numbing shot as well. I opted against it.

Honestly, the process was super quick. Not even a full 2 minutes I was done. I even asked if I was done. I believe myself to be very lucky, little to no pain at all. It is clear they do this all the time. After I got to sit in a chair, and got some cookies.

I would definitely come here again for insertions and removal. The staff are friendly and easy to talk to. However, one thing to keep in mind while choosing is they see a ton of people daily, and it is a small location. There is a sense of needing to keep moving along to the next area. For me that's fine, but that may not be for everyone.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the Women's 'Care' Clinic. The clinic was dirty and poorly maintained, and the staff were rude and impatient. The doctor who performed my IUD removal procedure (Saira Markovic) did not introduce herself and was extremely unprofessional, using inappropriate language like "get naked" upon entering the room (with the Dr and two staff in the room). The procedure rooms did not have fully closing doors, which compromised my privacy, and the bathroom (which was like a closet) door did not close or lock. The waiting times were long, and the sounds of girls screaming and crying filled the clinic, which made the atmosphere even more uncomfortable. Support persons were not allowed to wait in the waiting rooms, which was frustrating.

To make matters worse, my IUD removal procedure was painful, and I was not offered or provided with any medication to alleviate the pain. The girls and women are rushed out of the clinic like cattle after their 'service' is completed.

Upon looking into Dr. Markovic's qualifications, I saw that she has a self-named 'corporation' in which she practices/is 'self-employed' - that licensing looks to be expired as of March 2019. Red flags everywhere. I'm also willing to bet that most (if not all) of the 5 star reviews are paid for or they are from staff/family members lol.
Overall, I would not recommend this clinic to anyone seeking women's care services. I would encourage anyone who has had a bad experience to file a complaint against this doctor and this clinic - Know your rights as a patient!
My right to "be treated with respect, consideration, dignity and compassion without discrimination as guaranteed by the Ontario Human Rights Code" was violated, along with my "right to be informed of the name and position of the practitioner in charge of your care" and rights to privacy were all violated.
Beware!

I find it interesting that positive reviews get responses from the owner, and negative reviews get ignored or taken down, as mine was. I would have hoped they would show a little empathy or concern about women who have had bad experiences with them so they could learn and improve, but clearly they only accept the good and discredit the bad.

I won’t get into the complete details of my absolutely awful experience again, as clearly something I said gave them the ability to remove it. I promise I was not trying to be actively insulting, only provide a real, honest review of just how uncomfortable they made me feel, as well as the other girls who were there and clearly in distress from the way in which they were handling things (girls forced to sit outside in the hallway on the floor while patients entering have to step over them to get in the office, support persons sent away, the receptionist pressuring myself and other girls multiple times into doing the paid surgical procedure rather than the non-invasive but free pill method, the ridiculously long wait times and lack of communication, the literal rudeness and lack of empathy for privacy and discomfort of girls coming into the clinic… I’ll stop there).

The very minimum these “women helping women” could do is acknowledge the women who did not at all feel helped or supported.

I had my Abortion on April 1 and here is an honest review.
I called to book on the 20 March 2023, the person who answered was a little rude honestly. I felt very rushed to give her a name, and book. She forgot to give me the time, so I called again. The second person was pleasant to talk to, gave me the appointment time, asked if I needed anything else. I felt more comforted with the second interaction. Not to defend the first person, but I understand, they have a million things to do, what I felt like rushed is just her doing her job.

I booked a surgical procedure which was recommended while booking, but she gave me the choice, and offered that the nurse will talk to me during my appointment.

A call was done the day before to remind me of the appointment.

The day of the appointment: it was quick, I wish we had more privacy when we are saying the reason we were there. I was sitting in the front filling forms, but I could hear everything that the other patients were discussing with front desk.
After filling the forms, paid and waited. My bf wasn't allowed in, which I wish he was, I really wanted him there, but I understand that other patients (wearing only gowns) might not be comfortable.

I waited for probably 5-8 min, talked to a nurse. She explained the procedure, checked pressure, hemoglobin, temperature, gave medications and I requested to not discuss my choice (i didn't want to cry anymore) - she was awesome, very straightforward, very nice, and professional.

I went in, got a urine sample, changed. The change room has a cabinet and you can leave your clothes ect. Put on your gown, and sit and wait after.

I was then called in, the doctor asked me to remove my undies, and go on the table. Ultrasound was completed, and then procedure started. The nurse did an IV, I didn't feel anything, she was gentle. In my defense I donate blood every 3 months so I'm very used to it.
I was looking up and distracted by the butterfly. The surgery started, and the nurse kept watching my face, reminding me to breathe, and saying we are almost done, keep breathing, one more second. The doctor wasn't rough, it was uncomfortable. Pressure, a bit of cramps and sharp pain and pressure for maybe 2 minutes, it definitely felt longer but I'm sure it was less time.

Once completed, the nurse put my undies back on, with a pad. Took my hand and guided me to recovery room (my personal items was transferred there already)

I sat down, the nurse had cookies and water ready, handed me an ice pack. And had the chair footer raised up. There was a bit of cramps, but pain scale is probably 7/10. Dropped to 3/10 by the time I left. By the time I got water, cookies in me, I felt a lot better.
I sat in the recovery room for probably 5-10 min, booked the next follow up. And I got a form with what to expect. I was then given the form for my own record.

I wasn't rushed, or asked to leave. I don't like attention, or having nurses constantly asking me how I felt but the nurse was definitely keeping an eye on all of us which I appreciated.

I then got up, went to change room, changed. And left.

My experience is: I wish front desk person was a little bit more compassionate the first time I booked.
I wish my bf could have joined.
But that's it. I honestly don't know all the bad reviews. I spent 2 hours in total. The staff were pleasant. The doctor was professional, the nurses were professional. I'm glad it was kept professional because I CHOOSE not to discuss it (they give you the choice in the form) and they respected my choice.
26 April 2023 12:05
This is the the most unprofessional 'medical' clinic I've ever been to. I came for a simple procedure. The doctor did not introduce herself, did not explain the procedure to me and began the invasive procedure without any warning. The doctor referred to me as 'baby' during the procedure. When I was in pain and tearing up, the doctor told me I was being "too sensitive" and said “stop being a baby. " They did not provide me any after care instructions.
05 April 2023 12:59
Leaving a review bc some of these reviews scared me but this place was excellent, other than the wait time! But that’s to be expected and wasn’t horrible (about 30-40 mins later than scheduled appt time). The doctor was incredible and my IUD was replaced within seconds with very minimal pain. They even gave me naproxen:)
22 March 2023 1:55
This was by far the worst experience I've ever had in my life. The staff were cold and inconsiderate and gave no warnings before the actual procedure. Do not come here. They took my ultrasound and the nurse said "Awe, cute", knowing the details of what would be taking place shortly after. I was left crying and humilated and was completely ignored by the staff. The doctor told me to stop crying because it was done with no compassion towards how i felt. If you are looking for a safe, comfortable, and welcoming experince. I would advise you not to come here.

It's so sad to go through these comments and see so many women have experienced the same thing if not worse. For a clinc that advertises themselves as safe and comfortable you all should be ashamed of yourself for treating people like this in a moment that is so sensitive and scary! There is no compassion at all. Please please learn from my mistakes and read the one star reviews before making a decision. Honestly you'd be better off at the hospital.
20 February 2023 0:39
Everyone is super kind and welcoming, the doctors and nurses are sweethearts, they care a lot about everyone individually.its not an easy experience but they make it as easy as it can be.i will always appreciate the treatment i got here.if anyone is in a tough situation i will always recommend this place.
17 February 2023 19:56
This women and ladies that work here are Amazing, no matter the pressure or anxiousness you come in with, they make you feel calm and relaxed, they treat and take care of you like a family. From Sara to all other staff you all are a group of great women. Thanks for all you do for women?
24 January 2023 18:23
I highly recommend this clinic! I felt extremely comfortable and supported by the staff. Everyone was kind, informative, and went above and beyond to ensure that their clients were comfortable. My doctor was very kind and reassuring throughout my IUD removal process. I would definitely come back here, and have been recommending the clinic to my friends and family:) Thank you to everyone at Women's Care Clinic:)
12 January 2023 11:50
I’ve come here multiple times over the last years for abortion, IUD, and check ups and always had smooth experiences. I try to always get appointments first thing in the morning and don’t
experience long wait times. Receptionists always answer so quickly! Staff are super friendly, and Dr. Sara is quick and to the point and very sweet. Office space is a little old but always clean. I loved this white board I saw the last time I was there and wanted to share:) paid parking is available but you have to pay inside, also pharmacy and small coffee shop are open on the first floor of the building.
15 December 2022 18:34
I called this place and the asian lady answering the phone was so rude lol, would talk to to other people while on the phone with me, was rude about advice on when to get an abortion, would cut me off, and literally hung up on me lool. Def not coming here
11 December 2022 4:32
Choose any other clinic but this one, they absolutely have know idea of how to schedule anything. They will schedule you and make you wait there up to 2hrs just to call you, then another 2 hrs of wait. It’s not cool to make people waste the whole morning because they can’t probably schedule a proper time! Will never be coming back and definitely make sure no one I know will be coming there!
08 December 2022 13:02
Great experience here. I highly recommend this clinic. They are very kind and efficient. I had to remove my IUD and the process was fast and the aftercare was amazing. I will definitely come back for any IUD insertions, removals, and checkups.

Entrance to the parking lot of this building can be easily missed, so take a look at the route before going. Lots of parking spots available. The cost is $2.50/ half hour Monday to Friday.
25 November 2022 10:15
Came here for IUD removal after reading all the amazing reviews and am so glad I did. The doctors and nurses are so gentle and kind so you can rest assure you will be taken care of. The process was quick and although it wasn’t completely painless, it was very tolerable. Big thank you to all the staff.
05 November 2022 16:17
I did my D/C today, all the staffs are very kind, so helpful, I feel comfortable…excellent service…very satisfied! I highly recommend this clinic…God bless…️
23 October 2022 15:50
The staff is okay…. Doc is unprofessional she keeps talking different language …worse part is they make you wait 2-3 hrs no matter what you come here for……I can guarantee they will make you wait at least 2 hrs since I came to this clinic 4 times.
27 September 2022 16:28
Come here for your IUD removal! Best IUD insertion experience I've had, compared to two other times with my family doctor. You can get a booking fast as long as you are on your period. The all-women staff is compassionate & approachable, these are the people you wish every woman had with her for IUD insertion or an abortion. They offer Ativan for a fee if you get nervous and are not driving, and Advil. They offer freezing too. I have fainted during previous insertions so they gave me an IV. It was over very fast.

After, they sat me on a reclining chair and offered me cookies and water - I'm so grateful this place exists.
25 September 2022 15:42
I've never been here.before and was considering coming but now am hesitant now after something you ppl wrote yourselves. One person left a positive comment.and you respond " we never.get people to write fake positive reviews". The commenter said nothing about that. She accused you of nothing. You ppl defending yourselves without an accusation.but rather to a positive comment is pretty much telling me your guilty of getting ppl to wrote fake positive reviews.
22 September 2022 4:54
It's amazing to see how the entire team functions. Everyone was so sweet, kind and humble to speak to.

Grateful to all the doctors and nurses who helped me with my procedure. No one was less than a star in taking care of everyone who was there for different reasons.

The clinic was clean and maintained well with continuous changes in chair sheets.

Really thank ful to all of them
Would def recommend this clinic for the way they cared and looked after me, and treated me with personal care and attention.

Cheers!

The receptionist was extremely rude and talking over me on the phone. She would not let me finish any of my sentences. She cut me off like four times. I told her "well it said here on the website that. ", and also proceeded to cut me off as well. If that's the case the website should be updated. The website shows that there are more services offered then just abortions only but she said the website was wrong. Horrible receptionist especially for a place that's supposed to have empathetic workers.
03 August 2022 13:26
All the women that work here are lovely, I had got my IUD and was very anxious about the pain. They talked to me about my concerns and gave me additional medications to help lower my anxiety level along with the pain. They were very kind and supportive through the entire experience, and being cared for by all women made the experience ten times better. Highly recommend.
29 June 2022 2:52
OMG Is there the only one receptionist? The one from many reviews still works here! I have more questions but she said bye bye and hung up. Is this clinic reliable?
28 June 2022 15:31
It was one of the best experiences I have had with doctors. Entirely professional, so kind - really did everything they could to make an extremely uncomfortable and scary experience as safe as possible. I felt so safe and Dr. Sarah is the most wonderful doctor I have had.really nothing but good things to say they were amazing. So grateful for the entire team of staff there.
24 June 2022 20:43
Never choose this type of clininc for your sensitive health matters, worst experience ever. No one is treating you as patient. I want to write more about them, but not writing much.
In one line, please carefully read the reviews before going to that place.
02 June 2022 19:50
I called and a receptionist was soooo rude. I asked about a service and she said they don't have it (but thire website said they provide the servise.) then she hang up.
26 May 2022 7:24
I’ve never had a medical office treat me the way this place has done. The main doctor Sara treats you very weird, she touches your shoulders & calls people “ baby” and “mamas” which is not appropriate in an abortion clinic. She gets frustrated if you ask her any questions about the procedure, “ oh what, you don’t understand? ; what’s there not to understand? ” The whole place felt and looked very dark. Definitely not a place I’d recommend to go to when going through a very serious time in your life. Also, they will tell you many different things that are misleading. It also looks very dirty inside.
06 May 2022 11:51
Really great experience during my iud removal. Uncomfortable for may 2 seconds and then it was done. Highly recommend this clinic.
21 April 2022 13:07
One of the most traumatic medical experiences I’ve ever had. I would give 0 stars if I could.

I got a copper iud at this clinic five years ago and it was my first time. I was overcharged for the iud, there was little communication about the procedure, the doctor was very aggressive and only asked me if I have ever had a child or an abortion before, the procedure was extremely painful and I had to sit in the clinic for 30 minutes afterwards to even be able to walk myself out.

To top it all off, today I went to get that iud replaced with a new one. I went to a different place which I would 100% recommend over this one (harbourfront medical Center). The iud was half the price. Once the doctor took out the iud I got placed at the womens clinic she told me it was upside down and misplaced this entire time.

Do yourself a favour and avoid this clinic like the plague.
19 April 2022 8:00
The receptionist (a Chinese woman) was very rude and unprofessional. I told her my situation and she basically told me that I’m wrong. After taking 3 different types of pregnancy tests at home, they all came back positive, one even said I’m 3+ weeks pregnant. Yet, this woman told me that she cannot help me because my period is a day late. She told me that I need to wait an extra week. I hope you are reading this. You were very rude and how could you tell a client that she is wrong? I hope you get fired from your job. People like you should not be working in a place like this. They need to hire more caring, kind and professional people.
22 March 2022 18:32
I got my IUD replaced here. Had a great experience with this clinic. Staff were very supportive and efficient. Would highly recommend.
15 March 2022 3:43
I definitely had an amazing experienced. Me and my boyfriend decided to take an IUD for myself. I was a little anxious because I watched a procedure on youtube and read other people’s review saying how painful it was. From the time of consultation with a nurse explaining the different type of IUDs and it’s side effects and benefits, it was well explained. I was always having a hard time swallowing a pill but the nurse patiently waited for me and she gave me a new tylenol cause the first one melted in my mouth. The actual procedure took less that 2 minutes. I was having a fun conversation with the Doctor while she was inserting it to me and I didn’t even feel it at all. No pain, no cramps, nothing! It was quick and I didn’t even have to stay in the recovery room.

The only thing I didn’t like was lady answering the phone call. When I booked my appointment, she was in a rush and seemed like there were 1 million people on hold that she has to talk to. I had more questions but she was like, “that’s your appointment day, okay? Okay, bye! ”

But over all, great! Will recommend this clinic!
14 March 2022 5:39
I don't usually write reviews but I felt like I should. I was VERY anxious for my IUD procedure and was panicking a little bit. The nurses and doctors all were very reassuring, even some of the nice women at the clinic. One of the nurses held my hand and talked me down, and another helped me get back up and ready to move into a different room. In that room, following the procedure, they provided some cookies and water and any ice packs or towels that were needed for other women. It was a truly amazing experience to feel so supported and cared about and witness other women have this experience as well. Thank you!
22 February 2022 5:31
This place is incredible. The ambience is cozy and makes you feel at home. The desk nurses are warm and polite. Appointment was on time. Doctor Saira Markovic was really incredible. I was scared of removing my IUD as I went to My family doctor first and he couldn't even find it. She started the procedure and i prepared for the pain closing my eyes tight when she told me with a very endearing accent: what is it? I removed it already! It was quick, painless and absolutely incredible. I saw many bad reviews and was hesitant, but I will definitely be going back to this clinic if I need too. 5 starts is not enough!
12 October 2021 4:11
Very kind and patient staff and the Doc was amazing, she is very skilled and relatable. The entire procedure took less than 2 minutes. This was my first time and I was really nervous so I am really happy I chose this place to go to.
08 October 2021 7:47
I was so scared to get my copper IUD inserted and it was a bit busy so I felt a bit overwhelmed but the doctor inseting my IUD was literally so fast and i hardly felt anything. I felt cared about by the end of everything and I am really happy I got it done!

This isn't my real name for privacy purposes. I went to this clinic for an abortion. I bled the day before and felt I had a miscarriage. They allowed me to go and get checked out anyway. They didn't see an embryo but lots of tissue and cleaned me up. They were scared about ectopic so also sent me for blood work (twice) my levels were still going up. They were SOOOO concerned for me. You would have thought I have been a patient with them for YEARS. I was bleeding and cramping and went in for another check. I looked good but they were still very concerned due to HCG going up. Both the doctor and her great nursing/care staff showed so much concern I felt so cared for and SO COMFORTABLE. They continued to instruct me and tell me what to look for. To make a long story short. I am ok now (levels finally dropping). But if it wasn't for the care and support of this AMAZING clinic I don't know where I would be. THANK YOU. They are great people to have during this hard time. Making a choice to terminate a pregnancy is very hard. They made everything so much better.

My name is Kitti, I was here today to get a mirena iud!

This clinic had nothing but the upmost care for their patients! I have been struggling with endometriosis for over 15 years and no doctor or even staff has shown me a quarter of the amount of compassion, care and understanding that this clinic gave me!

I LOVED that you meet with a doctor/nurse who explains the different types of iuds, the differences etc. You then go get the prescription and when you go back up, you get changed and another set of nurses/doctor prep you and also give you tylenol.

The insertion was definitely painful but only for few minutes, I love that right above you is a set of hanging butterflies to get your mind off of the situation.

I also LOVE that they do an ultrasound afterwards to actually check that it's in the right place and book you 2 weeks afterwards for check up and every few months for another check up again just to make sure it's in the right place! (WHICH ALOT OF DOCTORS DONT)

THE AFTER CARE WAS WHAT REALLY GOT ME TO THINK ABOUT GIVING THEM A REVIEW
I was seated in a different waiting area than when you first walk in, and you get to sit in a reclining chair with your feet up, they give you a cup of water, cookies and a ice pack (which I am not one to like the cold but this definitely helped to soothe my tummy after the trauma of inserting an iud)

They CARE about their patients and it SHOWS I wouldnt think of going to any other clinic, they are busy so I recommend coming in earlier but definitely worth it
02 August 2021 22:35
Came here for my first IUD insertion and had a really positive experience. Super quick, and the staff does a very thorough job of letting you know what's going to happen. They did a lot to make me feel comfortable and offered me stuff for possible pain. I especially loved that it was an all-female staff (from what I could see) and that the doctor I saw had been practicing in this field for 30+ years. Overall, felt like a really safe space.
05 July 2021 4:08
The doctor was amazing! Took my IUD in less than 5 seconds, before I went to another doctor and he couldn't even find it. Totally recommended this clinic!
16 June 2021 18:59
Can I rate 0 star? !
Ridiculous service and rude attitude. All the nurses and doctors are very unfriendly and impatient.
When I raise up my suggestion or dissatisfaction, the front desk even hung up my call immediately. I can't believe there is such a disgusting clinic in Canada, never imagined before.
If you wanna protect yourself, respect yourself, never ever visit here.
I don't have any prejudice, I just want to share this real information to remind other girls.
22 May 2021 17:23
Reading these 1 star reviews, my nerves were extra crazy before going in. But my experience from the staff was nothing to complain about.
Got a copper IUD insertion about a month ago, and I do not regret coming here. They had availability the day of my phone call and the receptionist was kind. Note that IUD insertions are in the morning, and although the hours say open at 9, I was able to have a 7: 30 AM appointment. The doctors and staff walked me through every step. Tylenol is provided before your procedure. Added bonus for the butterfly decoration they have above your head in the procedure chair, it calmed me and gave me something to distract myself from the pain.
I would give my review a 5 star, but I did have to wait 20-30 minutes longer than my scheduled time. Also, the doctor pulled the IUD out when she was cutting the strings because she said the scissors were dull. So, I had to experience the insertion again. Not too painful, more uncomfortable than anything.
22 May 2021 5:18
I 've been to this clinic feeling anxious and scared and confused not knowing what to do and where to turn to. But after speaking with Dr. Markovic, she has been tremendously caring and understanding of my situation and i've never felt so at ease with the decision that I've made. I would her recommend her to make the right decisions for their life regarding your circumstances.
01 May 2021 13:16
The receptionists aren’t very friendly over the phone or in person, and want the forms and payment done ASAP. In and out of their area basically. However, the counsellors, nurses and doctor was very friendly and caring. They knew I was scared. While waiting for the doctor, the nurse was holding my hand calmly talking to me, then when the doctor came in she talked me through everything.

During the procedure, I didn’t find that it hurt. It just felt uncomfortable, but I do have a higher pain tolerance since I am sensitive to most medications (I don’t take medication typically. For example, I had back surgery and plates screwed into my spine. But because of my sensitivity, the hospital only put me on Tylenol for the healing process instead of morphine).

After the procedure, the nurse took me to the resting room and gave me water, cookies and a warm pack for cramping. Unfortunately, I had a reaction to the medication, which is normal because I am sensitive to most medications (I always get sick when taking strong meds). So they moved me to a private room with a bed and hooked me up to an IV to flush out my system. Once it was out of my system, they gave me a care kit and sent me on my way.

I highly recommend this location. Don’t let the receptionists scare you off.
18 April 2021 9:17
Had my IUD inserted here. They were one of the few clinics still doing insertions at the time (I called several other clinics and they weren't doing IUDs, due to covid I assume), and fortunately, because they don't really book advance appointments, I was able to call when my period started and get the procedure done then.

I brought my own IUD. They had me take an extra-strength tylenol before changing, though perhaps that was more for the pain after the procedure, since it was probably only 10 minutes for me between the procedure and taking the tylenol. I was probably in the procedure room for no more than 5 minutes, and the insertion itself took probably 2-3 minutes. The staff don't really tell you anything about what's going on while they're working on you, but that didn't really matter to me. They put a pad on me and walked me over to a waiting/recovery room and let me sit until I was ready to leave. My visit probably only took 45 minutes in total.

The 3-week check-up was even faster, the doctor checked for the strings and then did an ultrasound to make sure everything was in place. Took maybe a minute, and I was in and out in under 30 minutes.

Beautiful clinic for copper IUD insertions! Friendly, professional & super accommodating staff.

The WCC implanted my IUD a few years ago, and I went to get it replaced at my gynaecologist today, but they had cut the strings WAY too short, so it was unable to be removed. I now have to get my IUD surgically removed due to their error. It is absolutely disgraceful that they are not knowledgeable enough to properly implant a common contraceptive device.

This clinic was filled with such nice staff. I felt super comfortable speaking with them. Definitely recommend

Thankyou so much guys for helping me out!
I highly recommend this place. The nurses are so polite and friendly as well as doctor is so nice to everyone. The atmosphere is so peaceful, hygienic and comfortable. They do every thing so carefully and perfectly. Every patient of this clinic get comfort, care and support in every situation.

This is one of the most unprofessional places I have ever encountered. The lack of respect they have for young women coming into this clinic is sickening. They offered no sense of care or support for such a sensitive moment in my life. My experience there was downright traumatic and I would not recommend this to any women looking for a safe clinic to attend. After fainting I was left on the ground, a very dehumanizing experience. I urge any women to avoid this clinic at all costs.period.

I suggest you read some of the reviews here before you attend this place. Very painful btw. On top of all, they aren't ashamed to tell you (before I even asked) : "The procedure is all covered by OHIP" (to lure you go there and cancel all your plans for that day.include work), and while there, they tell you that: "you need to pay $80", which besides upsetting, makes you feel robbed. That's "professional" double steal! Oh, you have no choice.you have to give them a star!

I got refereed by a friend who also had an abortion here. And everyone here is so helpful, caring and nice. The nurses make sure you have a follow up appointment and that you’re well taken care of. No pass of judgement here, they just do their job as they should!

Should of read the reviews here prior to going. Absolute butcher shop. I remember my girlfriend coming back to the car crying and telling me how painful and uncaring the procedure was. The “doctor” refused to apply any local anesthesia and told my girlfriend to stop being a baby about it. The IUD was inserted wrongly (As we confirmed later by a different Ultrasound inspection, not done at the butcher shop) and confirmed by a gynaecologist. We tried reaching out to the clinic to discuss the issue and perhaps receive some reimbursement for the IUD purchase as she will have to visit an actual doctor to have a new one replaced and the reply we received was so disgusting and uncaring saying it is our fault for not understanding the procedure risks and that no reimbursement will even be issued. Absolute joke of a place and I would not recommend any woman to go there or for any man to take his woman there as she will suffer and you’ll be the one feeling bad and taking care of her. DEFINITELY STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUTCHER SHOP! Will be reporting this “clinic” to the college of doctors and health Canada.

Came here for my iud insertion today! The nurses were so friendly? They made sure i was comfortable and answered any questions i had! However, the doctors seemed a bit impatient and kinda rushed thru the procedure without really telling me what was going on, it kind of stressed me out: (other than that they were nice and everything went well!

I came here for an IUD insertion yesterday and everyone I spoke to from the lady at the front desk to the doctor and the lady who asked me questions were all extremely kind and made me feel very comfortable. The process of getting it inserted went by even more quickly than I expected. The doctor was very nice and professional. They all made sure I was okay after and this whole appointment took a total of about 30-40 minutes. Overall, very satisfied with my experience here.

I had an IUD put in with them. Really friendly and caring staff. I did not have to wait too much at all. The insertion definitely hurts a lot, but thats obvious and the following cramping is nothing that a few painkillers can’t fix, i was well enough to go to costco!
Really appreciate the kindness of the nurses there!

I’m not sure why there are so many low star reviews. This place is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it to any of my friends or just anyone in general who is going through with an abortion. I have been here twice already and each and every time I was well taken care of. The receptionist are so sweet. The nurse who speak to you before is extremely knowledgeable and caring/compassionate. The doctor who does the procedure and her nurses are nurturing and caring towards your body and situation. The aftercare is comfortable and they give you cookies and water to relax until you feel better. I have not one bad thing to say about this place. They made me feel comfortable and were very nice to me. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Thank you all ️

I did have to wait about 2 hours from the time of my appointment until I actually went into the procedure room (IUD insertion). The nurses were really nice, but the doctors were kind of rude, kind of in a hurry, I was nervous and they made me feel as if it wasn't good or valid to be nervous. Although nurses and doctors would ask me how I was doing after the procedure, I had to stay about 1.5 hours recovering, drinking water and eating cookies (thanks for that!), since I had eaten breakfast at around 8: 30 and the procedure was done at 12: 25 (my Appointment was at 10: 15), so I felt like I was about to faint most of the 1.5 hours. I think most people working there are under a lot of stress, especially during the pandemic, but still it would help if the environment was more friendly or doctors were warmer with patients.

Note: They are doing IUD insertions during the pandemic! I was so surprised that they gave me an appointment the next day as everywhere else in Toronto I asked had a waitlist or was closed. I do not remember the nurse or doctor's name unfortunately but this is a real review.

Super friendly and caring staff, nurses, and doctor. I received a copper IUD procedure, the pain for me was 10/10 but the whole thing only lasts about one minute; worth it for 5 years of hormone-free BC. They check to make sure the IUD is in place via ultrasound then give you time to recover in the recovery room. They then book you for a 3 week check up to make sure it is still in place.

Very happy with the insertion process and professionalism.

Had a very painful abortion experience here.
The doctor and nurses kept calling me "momma" while I was terminating the pregnancy. Which is ridiculously inappropriate. I was crying and they very aggressively told me not too.

Physically, it was very aggressive and from what I've read was much more painful than it should have been. The "sedation" did essentially nothing.

After the termination they send you into a room with a bunch of sofa chairs and cookies. The nurses treat you as a burden. Upon my discharge, I did not feel stable enough to accompany myself out of the building (I was light headed and having trouble walking). I returned to the recovery room where they seemed even more annoyed. Due to covid-19, I was not able to have my mother come retreive me from the clinic and had to wait until I felt stable enough to leave. The nurses make patients feel like they are an inconvenience.
Upon leaving, I accidentally forgot my prescription in their washroom (as I was clearly not in the healthiest mindset) and I called to request that the prescription was faxed to my pharmacy. Due to a language barrier, the receptionist said they didn't know what I wanted. I then explained again, which is when they said "we don't do that. Come back tomorrow"

They did not tell me how far along in my pregnancy I was. Nor did they do any STI checking which I believe is standardized before the procedure.

This was a very traumatizing experience. I do not recommend this clinic. There is no empathy and they make you feel like you are an inconvenience.

Terrible doctor. She saw me for 3 minutes. I asked questions and she answered with "I don't know". There was no consultation, no questions about my sexual history. She said "why would I ask about your sexual history, it's none of my business". You're a gynecologist, that's why! I told her she wasn't being helpful and had a tense exchange with her. She said "I'm not God, I'm a human"

It seemed like an okay place the receptionist were not that friendly though they seem to either not like people or hate there job

I didnt use there service because they wanted to charge me 60$

I've never paid in the past.

Best of luck to you ladies

I suggest the clinc on Bayview and eglinton they were very professional and extra attentive.

Dr. Saira Markovic and the all the nurses are beyond wonderful and kind. Also, a pharmacy is conveniently downstairs to pick up your IUD's and birth control prescriptions!

Ladies 24 and under- do yourselves a favour and get an IUD while it’s still 100% covered by the gov and free. Honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made (note- I was terrible w the pill and sucked at taking it everyday).

My experience at women’s care clinic was fantastic for many reasons:

1) They fit me in right away. I called on day one of my period (they want to assure you’re not pregnant) and my apt was scheduled for the next day. I called at least 10 other OBGYNS and they could only fit me in 4 months afterwards and most needed a family doc referral. This clinic was hassle free.

2) They are efficient and experienced. When you’re getting an IUD inserted, it’s a scary and foreign experience. That’s why I would only trust s/o with experienced (Eg does this everyday) as opposed to a family doc (who might do this once every now and then). The actual procedure lasted maybe 30 sec. And if you’re wondering about pain, the worst part for me was the speculum (lots of pressure). Otherwise, I didn’t even feel the clamping of the cervix and the IUD insertion. They also do an ultrasound right after to make sure it was properly inserted. Very thorough!

3) The staff as other reviewers have mentioned are great. Having an all female staff definitely helps especially if you’re hesitant about sharing personal details about your reproductive health.

All in all, would definitely recommend this clinic to my friends, younger cousins, etc.

Extremely positive experience! I went for an IUD insertion and all the staff members were extremely nice and caring. A nurse took me into a room and explained the entire procedure to me and also answered any questions I had. Next, I had the procedure and the doctor was really amazing, she made sure I had no questions and was okay before we started. It lasted about five minutes, the pain wasn't too bad. Lastly, before I left the clinic they had me wait for a few minutes to see if my camps were bearable and if everything was alright. I was so nervous and they made me feel very comfortable. Thank you! 10/10
