Having dined in over a hundred restaurants last year, this place easily lands in my top 5 favorites. The bone marrow and spicy clams were sensational—the perfect balance of flavors. The cozy, inviting decor creates a wonderful ambiance, complemented by exceptionally friendly service. What amazed me was how swiftly the food arrived, adding to the overall delightful experience. Highly recommended!

Food tasted alright. Skewer options are limited. Service was nice and friendly. Entrance to the free underground parking is behind the building, spots are limited.

However, found a few baby roaches roaming around the long wooden table and a few grains of old stale dried rice on my canned drink. The light flickering was a bit annoying.

We got the cucumber salad, scallops, satay greens bean, and beef wraps. I liked the cucumber salad and scallops but found the green beans too salty and beef wrap was too oily with undercooked beef. Service was nice. The black couch was a little low for the table. Good atmosphere.

The food is sooooo good! Tasty and flavourful! Lamb skewers and clams are amazing! YOU MUST GIVE THIS A TRY!

The food is so-so, but the main issue is that the table is unclean and has many bugs on it. It's very distracting and kills my appetite.

Authentic Chinese grilled food, friendly waitress introduced the food during order. Worth the travel. 10% off if paying cash.

One of the worst meals I can remember. Server doesn’t understand anything when asking questions, some food not editable. Short ribs hard and can barely chew. Menu doesn’t describe food. Hard paper is given as napkin. I was looking forward.

Hong - I posted this before our email exchange. Wendy was nice but when we asked how something was seasoned, a few different ways, she did not understand. Someone should be able to answer simple questions. We like different foods and were really looking forward to dining with you. Im sorry, we did expect more.

Good food but they need better service. There is always just one lady on the floor taking orders and it is very slow. They need to hire more servers because one lady is just not enough. Otherwise I have no complaints on the food.

I found this lovely restaurant through Suresh Dosh. I cannot recommend it enough. We were so excited to eat that we forgot to take pictures! Next time. We ordered a bunch of skewers, lamb, chicken, beef, potatoes. This incredible enoki mushrooms in a heavenly garlic sauce dish, fried rice, noodles and a yummy eggplant in garlic sauce. Oh and their signature scallops #519 on the menu. Excellent. We enjoyed everything, portions are good sizes, we had some leftovers. A real gem. And if you want a coffee, I suggest you walk two minutes up the street on the same side to Anotherland Coffee. It's on the second floor and is absolutely lovely. Delicious coffee and many teas to choose from. And if you want a craft beer instead they have a nice selection. Hong the owner is kind, very friendly and you can see how proud she is of her little cafe. I will go back to both places

They have zero respect for uber eats driver and are aggrassive in nature.

Hidden gem on Yonge. Food was delicious, sake selection was amazing. Definitely visit this place, you won't be disappointed!

Great spot for drinks and appetizers/ snacks. This place is pretty different and unique, fun and casual vibes with an interesting menu.

We ordered a variety of dishes, the skewers were simply amazing! The seasonings they use are flavourful and delicious. I was also oddly surprised with the fried cabbage (usually not a fan of cabbage) and grilled Durian… both were so good we ordered more!

Great food and cool atmosphere, I'm honestly so happy to have them in our neighborhood. The chefs do an amazing job of every dish and really strive for the right flavour. Couldn't recommend them enough, we come here any time we have guests over.

The food is really good. Prices are very reasonable so I was impressed by that.
Some portions are a bit on the small side in my opinion but food tastes great. We got cabbage and I thought it would be a medium or regular size dish with cabbage but it was to sticks of bbq cabbage. I guess it could've been bc it was bbq but I think 4 sticks would have been a bit more appropriate.

It's a nice take on flavorful grilled seafood and other meat! It can't be missed to pair with their savory pancake and a cup of rice.

The front Server lady was spitting in the sink multiple times and without flushing it down nor did she wash her hands right after. This is why Toronto has such high rates of parasite and Stomach flu. Pretty disgusting. I won’t be going there ever again. When she brought my food over she had her thumb in the bowl how insanitary, if she had a disease I am sure she will happily spread it by her disgusting mannerisms. I ate a quarter of the food and there it out as I couldn’t stomach what I saw. Don’t bother going here. You might end up sick. I feel phlegm now.

I am shocked that this place isnt more crowded, the food was to die for! Its incredibly flavorful, complex tastes and great portion sizes! The ambience is great with the overal decor encouraging quiet, intimate conversation over great food. The staff are very nice and polite. 5/5 experience would go there again for the great food!

Food is decent for the price, lots of authentic Chinese dishes and streetfoods. Would be great to come here in the evenings, order some beers, and have a few skewers.

This restaurant sell Synthetic meat，Adhesives are used to bind the grilled lamb kidneys to the fat to substitute the natural kidneys. This kind of artificial food is harmful to human body. The merchant refused to explain and refund, poor attitude. Please stay away from this restaurant if you care about your health.

Ordered a variety of items ahead for pickup. Drove down from Newmarket. Friendly handover. Delicious food. Shanghai noodles and the vegetable dishes were standout favourites. Roast chicken had great flavour. Skewers were very satisfying. Hoping to return for in-person dining.

Amazing lamb skewers, cucumber salad, and house fried rice. Red bean pancake is awesome dessert.

Pretty tasty food! A little pricey but worth it. There was a bit of a language barrier with a lady who answered the phone. She seemed as though she didn't even know what was on the menu or what each item was.

Our favourite place to go for Xin Jiang style skewers and spicy food closed down but luckily we stumbled onto this little gem. The food is quite tasty, just a tad below the old spot. Their other dishes were spot on but what really wow'ed us was the great service. They are so attentive but not overbearing. My friend dropped her chopsticks and before we even asked, the server was there with a replacement. Prices are very fair and of course house beer is always on the cheap at $9/pitcher. The place is not very big so it can get busy at times. We will be coming back here often.

Edit: We've came back to this place at least another 10 times after the initial review and everything is still amazing, service and food included. The cold beef salad has been changed from sliced beef shank (which is our favourite) to just a sliced cooked beef but the flavour is still the same. Wish we can have the other one back.

Great relatively hidden spot for Chinese BBQ skewers! The decor and ambiance is very nice and cozy, and the family that runs the place are super friendly and helpful with service. The food is delicious, with a wide variety of skewers, meats, seafood, and appetizers you can order. I would highly recommend the grilled beef short ribs, steamed scallops, and lamb skewers. All of them were super tasty and well-made.

Would definitely come back here again for the great service, food, and ambiance!

A hidden gem at Yonge Sheppard area. The food is tasty. The place is clean and cozy. My sons love the place and we will definitely visit again.

Good place to go if you're craving Chinese bbq in the Yonge and Sheppard area. Definitely better options in Markham and Scarborough if you're not confined to this area though.

Food was very good and restaurant had a very nice aesthetic. Waitress was extremely kind to us throughout the entire night.

It is off the busier parts of Yonge Street and has free underground parking.
I find it has an extensive menu for such a small restaurant. I love its lamb skewers and beef short ribs. The meats were properly marinated with the right amount of spices and nicely barbequed to perfection, crispy on the outside and still juicy inside. The pork intestine in wok is very good too. I will have to go back and try its other barbeque skewers.

Love the skewers, so juicy, wish they sell their bbq spice mix in the bottle.heard they sell raw skewers too, def will order that for next summer bbq.

Wood house a small family restaurant specializes in Chuan or Chinese style skewers. The owner/chef and staff are all from Northern China.

I really enjoyed the skewers here. Only quality meats are used … tender, nicely marinated and so flavourful. Nice chunks of meat that’s spiced with cumin and paprika, here are not too spicy at all.

I also enjoyed the side dishes. The braised eggplant done in a clay pot is nicely done… garlicky, in a tomato sauce. The fried Egg and Leek another favourite… so delicious.

Bone Marrow served with toasted buns …. Another good dish to order.

They are located in a strip mall south side on Yonge Street just north of the 401. It’s pretty hidden but there is a bit of parking behind the mall and on the street.

New Chinese skewers restaurant on yonge. We’d recommend the fried shrimps, beef and lamb skewers.

Best Chinese food we’ve had in Toronto. Just discovered and we will definitely be back! The vibe is great and the service is even better.

One of the most authentic Chinese skewer joints around. Fairly priced, great service, great ingredients. Anyone who's been to Beijing or Shanghai will enjoy the vibe of this restaurant. Overall a fantastic spot for dinner

Excellent Szechuan cuisine, not for the faint of heart! We had the cold beef and tripe salad, lamb skewers, beef hot pot and shanghai noodles. All excellent and spicy, layered with an array of flavours.

Great food, great atmosphere and friendly staff, probably the best Chinese BBQ in town, but very crowded during the weekend.

Introduced by my friend who's from North-eastern China and we went for a mid-night meal on Tuesday. The place was still full of people! What surprised me more is that the food, the music and the server made me feel just like home. I have been to many BBQ places in Toronto, but this one is my favorite from now on.

This place is probably the BEST place you can eat at North York.
Let me explain:
They have a familiar Chinese stir fry menu
They also have a BBQ menu: and from that I pick the 017 and the 012, Lamb Skewers and Lamb leg.

They also serve beer. Not just in bottles, but in Pitchers. All reasonably priced.

This is my absolute favorite place in North York that is open late.

Recommendation: any BBQ. Specifically lamb (012 for skewers, 017 for leg) also cheap good beer in a pitcher (around 11-12$ for a pitcher).
Paying cash gets you a discount.

I’m even more concerned when the server/cashier handled my money as if it was hers when I was still counting and not yet done.

Overall, other dishes were fine but with this experience, I’m not recommending anyone.

Best BBQ place in my neighbourhood! Always come here when I crave for some good lamb skewers. Here is the short ribs I ordered another day, it’s tender, juicy and flavourful, worth every dollar I spent on it! Highly recommend!

This place has a very cozy and relaxing atmosphere, great place for a late night snack with your plus one. But it can get quite busy on the weekends, I suggest call in to make a reservation in advance.

Found this place while looking for chinese skewers and decided to try it out.

Pros:
- The waitress was attentive and sweet
- Most of the food was delicious and well seasoned. Their chili power is spicy!
- Not too loud or crowded, great for having a slow dinner and a conversation with friends

Cons:
- It's not that cheap. Most restaurants in this area are around this price but I would visit here more often it was a bit more affordable
- The bbq sauce used on one of the chicken skewer was a bit too sour for my taste, but that could just be a personal preference, overall the food was pretty good

Best BBQ place in town. Very nice place to hangout with family and friends.
Very busy at night time, hard to book a reservation. Only place in Toronto has cocoon skewers.
