If you are a volleyball fanatic, this is the perfect spot for you. Don't forget to grab a sweater during fall cause it might get a bit windy. Otherwise the beach is just *chefs kiss*
It’s a beautiful place but way too busy. It’s not the right place. If you wanna have a quiet time, she wanna see people and go hang out it can be a right place.
Nice place to go and relax but long way from the parking to the beach. If you are not comfortable with dogs just be careful. Nothing bad but almost any dog that I saw there was unleashed.
They just built an extra nine holes for the frisbee golf course. Tons of little zones to explore lots of fire pits. Great place for doggos and children
This is a great summer playground in the summer with boardwalks, restaurants, beach volleyball, and trails. In the winter it becomes the best place to meet other dog walkers.
The beach is beautiful, and very spacious. Soft sand. Volleyball courts. And the boardwalk is absolutely gorgeous. If you've never visited, you really must at least once!
I went to Woodbine over a weekend. Having been to many other beaches, most recently the one in Galveston, Texas, I wasn't impressed by the amount of beach here. There wasn't as much sand and space as I imagined there would be adjacent to the water, even factoring in for the thousands of people in the place. The water itself doesn't flow onto sand but onto a harder mixture of grit and pebbles. As such this means that if you take your shoes or sandals off to step into the water, you're going to have to tread carefully.
Also, be careful - the water goes pretty deep pretty suddenly. You will notice this right away, in any event, since most people just a foot or two in the water will be submerged to the shoulders or thereabouts.
I like the fact that there's a pretty useful boardwalk at the beach, and you can walk along the boardwalk for a couple of miles, and it connects up to nearby beaches. Also, the washrooms that show up along the boardwalk were decent.
My suggestion is don't go over a weekend if you're looking for space or a wide open beach. Weekends the place is a sea of humanity dotting the shores of the Great Lake Ontario. On the other hand if you want to run into thousands of people as part of your beach experience, then you'll like it over the weekend. Also, make sure you have a couple of bottles of water, shades, a hat and sunscreen on hand. This last suggestion holds for anytime you decide to go to any beach on a warm, sunny day.
When visiting Toronto, this is a MUST visit place! Whether a walk along the boardwalk, swimming, sunbathing or playing volleyball among other activities, how many big cities have a beach inside such a dynamic city!
Clean and amazing location if you want to relax, or have fun with friends & family. You don't find many cities that have a beautiful waterfront like this.
An immaculate beach with a great boardwalk, a lovely cafe that serves excellent ice creams, coffee, and a few items to eat; they have a food truck that operates with a decent menu next to the restaurant operating only in summer.
The other side of the beach has beautiful, very well-kept parks, the perfect place for a picnic in the summer. The barbecue pits and swings for small children in the gardens make an ideal place for families. Summer are lovely at the Woodbine beaches. A musician plays piano in the garden most of evenings; on a good windy day, you will see many surfers riding the waves and the sky full of kites. A few operators also set water sports like jet ski, kayaking, etc, for the season.
If you like beach volleyball, this is the place for you. This beach has countless courts. Just get your stuff with a few friends and spend your day playing here. The beach has a new club too, an expensive but excellent place for some drinks on the beach. In case you want a cheaper options, there are a few not that expensive places too.
In a nutshell, it's a great beach. Drop by and enjoy.
This is our family's go to spot when the weather permits. The only downside is parking can be very challenging. If you don't get there before 10: 00, it's basically full and you're relegated to searching for street parking and having a bit of a hike.
I can't seem to get enough of the sand between my toes and under my feet.and of course my little girl just zooms past me just loving to.seeing her loving this puts the biggest smile on my face because I obviously see the running and fun. Especially feeling even better knowing that I kepted my promise to her. An that makes me feel like one happy pet owner, Have a blessed day y'all
Woodbine beach is a really great place with a great view to chill, play, and spend a day! We had such a fun day! The Saturday we went wasn’t crowded at all which was good. Easy to find a parking spot. Wait to watch the sunset too as it worth it! Definitely worth to go! My Instagram: arghavan_beauty
Today I was in Woodbine beach. We decided to seat in the shelter. One woman came and rudely said that I paid 100 bucks you need to go. When I asked from her the proof of reservation because there was not sign about it, she again impolitely refused showing, instead of it said me call 311. While I was calling, her husband came, and began yelling at me that we reserved here, walk away. My 8 years of son got stressed, began crying. He didnt stop yelling at us and said that I dont care about your son. I complained the City, and found another place (shelter: it showed the rain at that day, that is why I prefered shelter) for sitting. There were other families too. Again there was not sign for reservation. After 3 hours while we made ready our barbecue and was preparing meat, two women came and asked politely move from here we gave $100 and reserved here. We complained again about not any sign for reservation. They brought police and they forced us to move. Now I am asking, how can I know that the place is reserved or not if there is not sign? How do you feel when you are preparing everything, your all stuff is around, your barbecue is hot and with two kids you are forcing to move? Is it fair? My son's day was awful, and we faced real stress today. If it happens again, I will seek legal help!
Great place to spend a few hours or the day. I was there Monday afternoon, it wasn't so busy. There is fun food to buy, plenty of space to relax in without being trampled on, and the washroom was clean.
Washrooms are a great mess. They close them at 9 PM max even in summers. Apart from that, there is not much eating joints, and not enough parking for people coming by individual vehicles. Watch out for that.
Long sandy beach with alots of volleyball yard. The parking free until 5: PM in the weekday after that every have hour cost $1. You can spend the whole day with your family there. If you are plan to do BQ it is the best place but not on the beach you have to do it in the park which it is far 10 minutes from the beach.
A nice well maintained beach. Expect a lot of people as its near the city. Lots of lifeguards for protection in the water. Overall ticks all boxes for a great place to spend some quality time.
Woodbine Beach is a great place for a family day out. Picnic benches, large beach and a burger joint with some great food. Lots of open space to let young ones go wild!
Very nice, a great walk and a lot of public washrooms. It was fairly busy but im glad people are enjoying the nice weather after a long winter instead of being locked down
My favourite place in the city. The trail and boardwalk are awesome. Trail goes all the way to harbourfront & more. Get the rideshare bikes for $7 per day and enjoy this life!
Great beach right here in Toronto. A wonderful city asset. Easy to get to. Very busy on hot summer days. Nice to walk along the boardwalk any time of the year. Parking sometimes a problem.
Nice beach plus don’t forget to bring volleyball or football. It’s one of the beach close to Toronto that offers volleyball nets. And huge coast area so football won’t be a problem either.
Fantastic beach, love the views. Walking distance from restaurants on Queen Street. Lots of sand and unfortunately little pebbles. Tons of volleyball nets and space for activities. Great spot for dog owners as there’s a large fenced-in area for pups. Sometimes the beach floods.
If you ever need to have a competitive game of volleyball, then this place is the place to be.i had a vball game here to prove my friend wrong and kicked his butt.overall, i had a really great day with my friends there.it was fun seeing my friend getting bird poop on their head
I like going here on a hot day. Especially on the weekend. It's a massive beach to find a nice spot among the other people who are there to tan, throw around a frisbee, take a dip in the water or just chill with friends.
If you don't want to go near the water you can always hang out by the boardwalk and watch some volleyball, or grab some food from the food truck and enjoy a beautiful sunny day.
The beach is very vast and tons of people can be accommodated here at the same time. The place is very neat and clean and has very well maintained park.
Very nice place to relax, hang out, tan on Sandy Beach or play volleyball. Many people play here, and many nets are available. There is also a very nice park just west of the beach itself, where you can enjoy weather and enjoy a quiet place. I have seen artists, photographers and couple's here, who just come to a quiet place.
This was once a fully accessible park for the public. Now the 'Boardwalk Place' a private business has fenced off virtually all of the public patio area on the south side of the bathing station, and a portion of the stairs. This occurs everyday. Apparently you can only access this 'public area', o if you are willing to buy alcohol 'for charity' no less. Was it really necessary to take over the entire space? The people who paid for the renovations (Toronto taxpayers) should have use of at least some of the space.
A lot of trash in the water and on the beach. If I wanted to play in garbage I would gave gone to the dump. If everyone picked up 5 pieces of plastic the beach would be clean! #PlasticPollution#SaveOurOceans#CleanupAfterYourSelf#SwimmingInFilth#Disgusting#BeachCleanUp
Nice and large beach to go to for cooling off during the summer. There are many volleyball courts, which is nice. The beach and boardwalk seemed clean.
It was fairly easy to get to- just take the 92 bus from Woodbine Station. I went on a Tuesday in the evening so it was practically empty. I loved the park being so close to the water. Speaking of the water, it was clear and the perfect temperature for a refreshing swim. There are beach volleyball courts if you want to play as well. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a lot of cheap, dairy-free food places around and I had to walk a bit to find food.
We had a great time here! There are tons of volleyball nets and lots of good places by the water to set up for the day. On weekends, there is free street parking as well. I will definitely be visiting again!
Very nice beach that has a large amount of sand to relax on. A public washroom and volleyball nets as well that can offer activities for people trying to have fun. Large coastline and food nearby really improves the fun at this beach. Isn't as messy as lakeshore but still has the nice sands.
It’s a great beach to spend the day relaxing at, however the west side of the beach has more rocks than expected, especially in the lake. If you want to avoid rocks and being hit in the head with a frisbee, I recommend staying around the eastern part of the beach. The bathrooms are not so great. They’re not clean but they’re also not the worst. 8/10 beach experience, 5/10 bathroom experience
I seriously am shocked this beach has more Than one star! I took my two year old and she was playing with plastic cups instantly. There is trash littered EVERYWHERE! Seriously vile and disappointing that adults can behave this way. Clean up after yourself please!
