We chose Wooden Sticks as our wedding venue for both the ceremony and reception and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. I dreaded going through the process of wedding planning after hearing countless stories of how stressful it can get, but frankly, I thought I was missing something when I found myself not that stressed about the process as a whole. This was mainly thanks to Cathy. Cathy is prompt and professional and runs a well-organized staff at Wooden Sticks. I think throughout the year, I sent 38957398 emails to Cathy asking questions and coordinating between vendors, and Cathy would always respond promptly and be so accommodating as we worked to customize the day to our liking. Without a doubt, I felt reassured from start to finish knowing I could put my trust in Cathy. She was even there for our food tasting dinner, our rehearsal the evening before, and throughout the duration of the wedding day, making sure everything was orchestrated in a clean manner and according to plan. I can't thank Cathy enough, because the day did go as smoothly as it did because of her. Wooden Sticks is a gorgeous venue. Keep in mind that the course stays open during the wedding day, so the course is not only yours, but this was never an issue. We had our wedding mid October and so the sun set around 6pm and were able to sneak on the course for sunset photos without getting in the way of the golfers. It was chilly this time of year, but they have a covered pavilion that Cathy made sure was heated for our cocktail hour. This space was also our backup spot for the ceremony in case it rained, so this was a nice way to ease the mind. We did a first look there, too, which worked out really well for getting more photos in. We stayed in one of the cabins and that was also very cozy and well kept. It felt like a little cottage. Above all, we need to give our compliments to the chef and kitchen staff, because the food was beyond incredible. We got so many compliments not only on the quality of the food, but the amount of it. Our guests were not hungry, that's for sure! Cathy and the staff helped us ensure that those with food restrictions were taken care of. The reception area has a large bar, which worked really well for the flow of people around the space. We had about 120 people at our wedding, which felt perfect for the space. Overall, we are incredibly thrilled about the experience we had and felt like royalty having our wedding at Wooden Sticks. We highly recommend! Thanks again!
Definitely one of the best courses I've played in, didn't have to wait much compared to some other course (and our group is not slow at all). 3 star is the food and the wait staff at the restaurant, not attentive and food not par with the club/price
One of the most beautiful golf courses in GTA. Staff are friendly, pace of play is excellent, each hole is unique, I can play this course all day long. Meal is also very delicious, love the mushroom soup, chicken wings and Nachos. Will definitely come back to play more often.
We had our wedding here and the venue was perfection! Cathy was incredibly responsible and professional. She and the whole staff worked closely with us to ensure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent (still getting compliments from guests a week later) and the onsite cabins are a nice touch! Highly recommended this place.
Fabulous course but I was seriously put off by the Marshall who kept constant watch on us and hurrying us along. I get that they want everyone to have an enjoyable experience but we were not dragging our heels in any way but kept being harassed by the Marshal telling us to speed up, forcing us to skip shots to move ahead.
This golf course is amazing. Today was my first time playing there and I will forsure be coming back every year. The friendly staff and the great course conditions made for an unforgetable golfing experience!
Driving range is nice. Yardage markers are represented nicely. Average price for a bucket of balls. Wooden Sticks is a very well maintained course. Just to play the famous holes in something to cherish. I was a pro for a day
Nice course lots of cool ones mimicking the pga. Staff very friendly. Bit expensive. Cart path only soured my experience took some of the fun out of it. Was dry for many days prior to seemed unnecessary. Course had good gaps between which was nice to have some space
First time and it was fantastic. Tough but worth the drive from the Niagara area. Staff were excellent and dinner was roadhouse style food but well prepared. We had a group of 16 and I believe most were ready to arrange another visit. Thanks to all for a great experience.
It was beautiful my son's wedding was there the people the place was absolutely beautiful the things they offered my family was amazing I would recommend this place to anyone it was just absolutely gorgeous staff was amazing
Maintained perfectly, staff is courteous and friendly, lots of fun and challenging holes.
We purchased a package that includes every detail; club drop off, range/facility use, coats and ball markers and a nice meal at the end of the round. Staff also clean clubs at the end of your round while you eat.
I would highly recommend this course for an amazing golf experience and the cool PGA tour replica holes.
The course was in amazing condition and was truly a pleasure to play. The staff was friendly and helpful the whole time we were there.
One of our cottages did not have working Air Conditioning which was unfortunate but we made do, we also had an incident on the course where a group behind us hit into us on one hole and then yelled at us on the next hole. Not sure if they realized we were all waiting on groups in front of us as well.
The meals at the club house were okay, our lunches and breakfasts were quite good but our dinner left a lot to be desired. We were the only group eating at our dinner time and our food sat on the heating counter for at least ten minutes while our sides were prepared. The burgers were made from frozen and not great quality and their ribs were really terrible, the steak however was impressive.
A few tweaks to the menu and perhaps the occasional Marshall to keep the peace would definitely make this a 5 star review.
If you are just going for the golf you will not be disappointed in the least.
I cannot day enough wonderful things about Wooden Sticks and the staff! We had our wedding there and my goodness they blew us away! Although it was a small and intimate setting, the staff (especially Cathy and Justin) went above and beyond to ensure our day was seamless, perfect and absolutely wonderful! Our family and friends all complimented the beautiful venue and phenomenal customer service.
I would highly recommend Wooden Sticks! The food is out of this world delicious! The staff are so accommodating and truly made our day so very special.
Very nice well maintained course. Played here during the OMHA annual meeting in a driving rain. This time weather was perfect as was the course. We had a package deal for play and dinner and it was well worth it. Great view on the veranda overlooking the 18th. Dinner was superb and the drinks were delicious. Would recommend you play and eat dinner here.
We had 12 people playing with the stay and play package. Wooden Sticks really knows how to make your experience awesome, from the welcoming staff, the golf course itself is a really fun track, the included meals are spectacular, the cabins are first rate. We will be going back next year with more people.
Beautiful course and great staff. Perfect for a Friday and Saturday with rental of one of the available cabins they have on site. The restaurant is simple but a nice addition to this wonderful course.
Beautifully kept course and the replica holes are done really well, Felt just like I was on tour. The dinner menu was small but very tasty. A+ experience.
There are 4 of us that golf here every year in May. We always enjoy the outing and the food is great. Everytime we go we speak with the starter and inquire at the front desk for a replay rate. There have been different managers in and most are very reasonable. We've also had some try and charge us $110 for a replay. Overall the golf course is fantastic and we will continue to visit every May. Restaurant is nice and the patio has a nice view. Staff is always friendly.
For a public course, they are pretty snooty. The course is usually in pretty good shape considering the amount of tournament play. It's a fun course that accommodates low handicaps to high. The customer service is disappointing. Driving range rarely has enough golf balls for players to use and the course marshall's are pushy on pace of play. Can't buy food on the course. It's golf but not much else for your money.
Course is nice stay and play is over priced and the people setting up the stay and plays are not very helpful I've done 3 stand plays all during the cheap season and was disappointed every time next time me and my crew are going somewhere that can actually facilitate our event
