Woodington Lake Golf Club

Legacy course was in fantastic shape. Play was pretty slow. 5.5 hour round. Would've liked to see the Marshall get involved a bit more. Only saw him once, and the backup started at 4-5 hole. Some pin placements were just cruel, especially 15 green. It was unplayable with the pin right on the edge of a plateau. Any putt from any angle that wasn't in the hole would role 30 ft away. Not sure what the green sleeper was thinking there but it was a round killer. A few others were similar but not quite as bad. Greens were in great shape though. Fun course to play with great views.

Woodington is a great track! Comparitively, I played Osprey valley two days later, and I actually preferred woodington! Not that Osprey isn't bueatiful, cause it is, but at 70 dollars less, woodington gets the nod!

Saturday afternoon golf, we were told they had 3 tournament just finishing up. Played the Legend; pace of play is very slow. There were several holes with 3 groups. We were waiting and standing on #11, you can see the holes ahead, there's a gap between 13-15, no golfers. We called the pro shop for a marshal to check on golfers. No change, continued to be slow. We didn't see any Marshal.

They know it's a busy day, marshals should have been all over the course moving golfers along. Round took over 5 hours!

Wonderfully kept course, flat well kept tee boxes, moderately quick and clean greens and played the Legends 18, kind and friendly staff, worth the drive and even better price if you get the underpar deal. Will be back many more times!

I was volunteering for an employer sponsored charity event. First time at the Woodington golf course. I am not a golfer, so I will not comment on what it was like to play as I did not. However, I can say the grounds were immaculate, very clean, and beautiful like a postcard. The facilities were equally beautiful and clean. The food was fresh and of high quality. The staff was incredibly friendly and gave great service in answering questions and providing assistance. I will definitely go back even though I do not play. I may now attempt to because of how nice my experience at Woodington was. Huge thanks to ownership, management, and especially staff.

Was just there with a group of friends for a mini tournament. Staff were extremely friendly, course was in great shape and the beverage cart passed by us 5 times during our round.

Very slow and clogged up course. If you golf here look forward to a 6 hour round. Quite frustrating to play.

My husband and I had our wedding at this beautiful golf course on October 1st, 2022! It was such a beautiful day and Woodington’s coordinator Olivia deserves all the praise for making this day happen! She transformed the hall into something better than I could have imagined! She was always very accommodating and very communicative! The Woodington staff overall on the night of was amazing and it was a wonderful evening! From the picturesque scenery, to the amazing food (that we are still hearing from our guests), to the welcoming nature! I could not have been happier we chose this beautiful place for our wedding and would recommend this venue to anyone looking!

Played the newer legacy course and it was in great shape especially this time of year. Still prefer the original course but the fact there are 2 18 holes courses on prem is amazing.
The only draw back this time of year and playing the legacy course there was no beverage cart or ability to hit the club house between the nines.

We had a bad experience yesterday on the legacy course. The two foursomes ahead of us were friends, played par 3's together and were extremely slow. No marshal on the course until we called the clubhouse and they did nothing. We later learned that the groups ahead of us were members of the course. Next time I want to spend money on a premium golf course, I don't want to play somewhere that prioritizes money/members over having good general customer service. After calling and complaining, nothing was done. I will not be playing here anymore.

I would like to thank Olivia and the amazing staff for making Lindsey’s 40th bday a perfect event. The food and service were amazing! The venue was decorated really nice. Olivia was always quick to respond and took very good care of us!

Second time at Woodington lake, second time around the course was definitely in better shape. Everything from tee boxes to staff was exceptional that day, flow and pace were phenomenal, did wait for the group in front, didn't get pressured from the group behind. Overall great day and great golfing experience

This place is really beautiful, especially the grounds near the clubhouse. Played after some brief but heavy rains so everything was soft and wet, but still in good shape and not flooded.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming as well as the other players we encountered.

Nitpicks:

Played the Legacy course which is a 5-7 min golf cart ride from the pro shop …and all the food. We teed off just before 1pm on a Thursday but the halfway house on this course was unmanned. Luckily the bev cart had 1 sandwich left for me.

I didn’t play well as the course was new to me and it also seemed like there were a lot of semi-blind shots to play.

Cart paths are a little tricky to get on and off in some places due to not being well integrated with adjacent turf.

Great course, beautifully maintained and very reasonable pricing for a round. Not an easy course if you're new to the game. Great fun to be had regardless

Course was in good shape except the bunkers. It would be nice to play out of sand then limestone. The beer selection can have an upgrade, good thing I don't mind Carlsberg. Staff were pleasant especially the cart girl I love the layout but a little to pricey!

Beautiful courses- 2 18’s. The original course is very challenging and the newer is more open link style but also extremely challenging

A very nice course. My first time playing there and truly enjoyed it. The layout is good and the green was nice. The restaurant has nice pizza and cold beer. Will definitely go back for another round if I can.

Both courses are excellent but different. Greens are fast with many slopes. Tee boxes are flat. Played both on a Tuesday $75 cart and tax. The 18 on the old course, fun hole. Worth the drive.

Really good golf course. Golf course is fair, but challenging. The rough is penal, so there is a reward for keeping your ball in the fairway. I cannot tell you how many times my shots would just miss the fairway, and would take me a little time to find my ball. Even though I knew where to look.
The staff on the course and in the clubhouse are excellent and very polite and professional. The food and clubhouse views on the finishing 18th hole is well worth the drive to this golf course. Overall this golf course remains a staple in my golfing rotation of courses to play!

Great course!

Woodington lakes home of the Ontario open, what can you say? We played the legends course, well first off it happened to feel more like the British open by the end of the round. We knew there was a chance of rain but it ended up being pretty steady that by the back nine our hats would drip water when looking down to putt!

So let me start by saying the drainage on the course is very good. We didn’t encounter much pooling until very late in the round and never had problems of drives having your ball stick into the ground like a meteorite.

Very beautiful and mature course, it has it’s fair amount of challenging holes, especially for first time here as a few blind shots not knowing what is there, including a split fairway on one of the holes, the left one is elevated, some nice long par 5 and one short par 4 gives you a real opportunity to get a nice hole.

The only thing we missed is the 18th was shrunk to a par 3 as they were doing maintenance. Will comeback and definitely recommend, not the cheapest but you get good value here, nice electric carts and well spaced tee times, no pushing or shoving. Just hoping the 18th will be open and hopefully a little better weather!

Getting to Woodington Lake is a bit of a hike for most people but you'll find it's worth the drive. Two outstanding and well maintained courses are fun to play and definitely more challenging than most courses. The fairways are wide enough and fair but you'll need your 'A' game to score well.

Quick greens but lovely course. Patio was great however bunkers under maintenance so they are now larger cart paths.

Another enjoyable round on the Legends course at 'The Woody'. Great day and course conditions were excellent as usual!

Course in very good shape. Slow greens. Very friendly staff. New electric golf carts quite nice. GTA club price rise almost 100% over last year.

Bit of an interesting course layout, seemed to have to layup on a lot of holes so playing a second time I think I’d know it better to shave a few shots. Great conditions though, disappointed we didn’t get to play the real #18 legends due to renovations. Lunch on the patio after was fantastic. Will play again if I’m in the area

Two excellent 18 hole layouts.beautifully manicured and well kept greens/fairways. Reasonable prices for such a nice course.

Played here last summer a couple times. Really cool place. Nice condition, with a fun design and great views. Food from the restaurant was tasty too. Rick was our starter and let me tell you the guy is a class act, thanks Rick!

Gonna be the last day of golf for me this season. Absolutely awesome playing here at Woodington. November golf here is simply great. No complaints at all. Over all, greens, fairways, are in great shape.

Very unfriendly and discriminating staff at the associated Pro Shop. Course was excellent on the other hand, no complaints, except for the unaccommodating staff members making my life more complicated than it needed to be.

Good layout of course and conditions. But still an improvement of sign and direction in legacy course; at least of few holes they still named as new course instead of specific legacy course. And based on safety issues, in the washroom should have paper towel in stead of air hand dryer.

Beautiful location for wedding events. Staff is very personable and helpful. Wedding planners are both courteous and knowledgable. Made a great event, even in covid.

Really enjoyed the legacy course. Found the legend course had a lot of blind tee shots. Would be more fun the second or third round.
