World Sew Centre

My Japanese designed Janome SUV1122 sewing machine purchased in 2013 at a Toronto east store (since closed) has worked well, but after 10 years, the bobbin thread consistently stuck. I checked Janome website and called a few authorized repair places. Spoke to Mr. Lawrence Lee of World Sew Centre who advised that sewing machine likely need a “tune up” (clean, oil and adjust). The price he charges is extremely reasonable. The other authorized service places charge more than double. I dropped off the Janome at their Scarborough store at Agincourt Mall, 3850 Sheppard Ave. East, with ample parking. Turnaround quoted as 4 or 5 days, but he called 2 days later to advise it was ready for pick up. Great service! I also bought Janome sewing needles (blue tipped) for knit fabric,
Schmetz needles for general sewing, and high quality Guttermann thread. They have been in business for 40+ years, not surprised if store a little messy. I used the Janome yesterday for a stretch garment and a sewing project. Works great! Thanks again for wonderful friendly service!

I absolutely adore this store & the couples running it. Great selection of fabrics with reasonable prices. Definitely cheaper than the fabric stores in the “fashion district”

Staff is always super helpful and friendly. This is the only place I take my machines for servicing.

I always come here first and the lady and her husband are really sweet, and the prices are actually affordable unlike some other places here in the city.

I have always had a good experience at this store both in the old and new location. There is a lot of stuff and so it is a great place to find all your bits and bobs (buttons, buckles, fabric, thread, needles, sewing machines, cords, ribbons, beads etc.). I had my scissors sharpened there and they did a great job. I have always found the service helpful

Decent selection of sewing machines but she was a bit busy to help us thoroughly. It was also messy and disorganized

Always the best for servicing my machine, a lot of places don't work with older PFAFF machines. World Sew has been a staple for me over the years.
