Xiang Zi HotPot

Hot pot joint has a fantastic decor/interior with a really good menu for the price. Ingredients are pretty good quality and they also offer premium ingredients like lobster, crab, oysters and higher grades of cuts for meat. Each person gets their own pot so you can have your own broth without having to use a communal pot. They also feature a really extensive drink menu as well as speciality drinks from China.

We walked in at 1: 55 in the afternoon, and a waiter with glasses and another old aunt said that they would not serve us anymore and asked us to leave. The attitude was very bad. The service stopped at 2: 30 and the waiter had a lunch break. I completely understood. I said that we would only order once and we would not be in trouble all the time. Waiter, that's not possible. It's just closed and drove us away. This happened to us for the first time. It's impossible for us to come here again. With such a waiter, I really wish the boss will close down soon.

I went in a group of 5 for all you can eat hotpot lunch, where we got a mushroom soup base and tried a variety of hotpot ingredients. They gave free abalone, and the food was delicious overall. However, they cleaned the floors while we were eating, so it briefly smelled like a pool, and they also never asked to refill our teapot. The music they played seemed to be on repeat as well.

By far the best thing about this place is the wide variety of food options. Many types of meat, seafood, and organ meat are available. The quality is overall pretty good, except the beef was too lean and the marbling was weak. Dessert selections were limited. Service was quick but their tone an attitude can use some improvements.

They charge premium prices (over $50 per person after tax and tips). For this price, I would say the value is just okay.

I haven't eaten here for a long time. I used to have a good impression of Kuanzhan Alley. This time, the waiter's attitude is very bad. Just because I want to split the order, I start to sigh impatiently and drop the order and roll my eyes. We still tip normally out of respect for food. But since there is a tip service, I still hope to improve it. It was a bad experience and I don't want to do it again.

Food quality 3 star gave 2 because of the price. I had high expectations per reviews but left there with disappointment. Nothing special about this place, meat and veggies are not fresh for the price Ive paid (around 50bucks /person for dinner). Service is ok. I can't think of anything good about this restaurant. Will not return.

Much better choices here in Ontario then in Vancouver for hotpot…only thing missing is a good soup base but meat choices and sides are so much better here

This hotpot soup base was tomato and it was so good. It had the perfect level of spice and was a great way to warm up in the chilly weather.

Since we couldn't eat any of the meat because it wasn't halal, we had all the seafood! They gave us a shrimp paste that you just dump into the soup. It was so good! I often don't opt for seafood because I sometimes feel uneasy after eating but I felt great after eating!

I tried scallops, crab, shrimp, fish, and some veggies. Everything was so fun and yummy. The staff made me my dipping sauce using sesame, cilantro and many other things

The staff was wonderful and kind, not to mention patient. They helped us at every step and taught us how to eat hotpot the right way.

If you don't want to give away your "Limited special food" to your customer, then delete it.

You told me kitchen ran out off ingredients, and then you give exactly same food that I ordered to another table right beside me. Do you think your customer are all braindead so you can play them like a fool?

The food here is soooo fresh, in a perfect portion and nicely presented. Staffs are friendly, moving quick, nice atmosphere. Definitely a great place for hotpot lovers!

The food was delicious! You really get what you pay for and the decor is also AMAZING! I would definitely come again! The Tom Yum was my favorite broth of the night. 10/10 would recommend!

Xiang Zi Hotpot, imo, is the best hotpot restaurant in all of the GTA. The selection of broth and food is much larger than other spots, the staff are very efficient and accommodating, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great! It feels a little more upscale than other spots, but not to the point of snobbish. Will definitely be back again!

Not the best all you can eat hotpot in town but the experience is worth trying. Unique interior design and utensils. We visited the restaurant on my friend’s birthday and we were satisfied with everything overall. It would be five stars if we could communicate with the staff better. Highly recommend for anyone looking for Chinese cuisine.
