Y Not Italian!

Loved this place! The fig / cheese salad was amazing. We had spaghetti funghi and the seafood pasta w the spicy tomato sauce - was delicious. We’ll be going back. Service was wonderful and attentive!

Stumbled upon this charming place. We are visiting and staying a few blocks away. Wish we had discovered this place earlier. First off, the bread they bring was so good.fresh rosemary was a delicious touch.
Biete and arugula salad, caprese, bolognese and the fettuccine with sausage were our dishes.all excellent. Topped off with dulce de leche cheesecake and cappuccinos made for a magnificent meal. Nice white table cloths, but down to earth staff. You can tell this place is consistently good because it was filled with regulars.

I visited this place for dinner had veggie pasta recommended by one of the servers. She was very helpful and the pasta was full of veggies, I think it was alfredo cannot remember the name!
Its a cozy place with tasty food will be back to try more!

- How is a table for 4 "ready" when the party is for 5?
- I could no longer stand so I ended up sharing a seat with my friend, so you may have thought I stood only for 5 mins when in fact the wait was longer.
- No one said anything to me while I was waiting. Not even an acknowledgement of the situation that any reasonable person in the hospitality business would do. How is that even remotely acceptable in the restaurant business.
- How am I "hiding" behind a keyboard when my name is posted?
- You call me a "coward" and then say you want to end this amicably by offering a gift. Passive/aggressive?
- Your response is indicative of what happened that night. A simple acknowledgement is all that is required.

Stood waiting and waiting for what seemed like an excruciatingly long time in very tight quarters to join my friends at a table because they didn't have an extra seat for me, even tho we had a reservation.
Not one word from anyone. Not a word of I'm sorry for the delay. We'll have a seat very soon. Totally ignored.
Not surprisingly, the penne with meatballs i had was awful. Burnt sauce, cold meatballs, hard pasta. My wife's Pomodoro pasta wasn't any better.
Interesting angle on the one price for all the wines. This is great for those who know something about the offering.
It was packed and the only reason why that I can think of is because of the inexpensive entrees.
Dining is about atmosphere, service then food in that order. No reason to ever return to Y Not Italian. So sad to see The Freakin Greek across to street closed as they had very delicious food.

Had two very different experiences here but both were pretty good. Don’t be deceived by the kitschy name, the food is good and thoughtfully done. I really liked their winter menu with the 4 cheese gnocchi and I hope they bring it back. More recently I went and we loved 3 of the 4 dishes we ordered.
Burrata was simple and great, gamberoni was flavourful and great to have the bread with. The penne a la vodka was delicious and aromatic, would skip the penne with meatballs in the white wine sauce.
Cute little spot on Manning, great to sit outside in the summer.
Wine list is good and well priced.

This is a wonderful Italian restaurant with superb food and service. No need to add pictures. Every dish is immaculate. The broccoli soup was so tasty. On a relatively quiet street. Nice to eat outside in the summer.

My husband and I went to celebrate Valentine's, and it was lovely! We made reservations for an early dinner, and we practically had the place for ourselves for the first hour, then it was packed The food was exquisite, and their service was really fast. The atmosphere is really romantic and cozy. Definitely will be coming back!

It’s a very warm place to have dinner with family and friends… the pasta is perfect and the tastes are subtle and delicate.

The best pasta in Little Italy Toronto.
After searching for an hour where to grab dinner with some friends, I called this place and the owner was very nice and kind.
The food was delicious and the wine recommendation was perfect.

Peter & staff always operate a class establishment, good food and great wine selection.

Tiny portions. Like tiny. The pasta was the size of an appetizer. I guess if the pasta wasn't under main, you're going to get a kid sized meal for $20+tax.

There was like 10 pieces of pasta. Didn't know there was a pasta shortage.

Edit: did not mean harm.but clearly you have a power trip when a review doesn't go your way. Have you been to other Italian places in the city? They serve 2-3x more pasta than you for the same price. Look at the picture, does it look like there's more than 15 pieces? Each piece of pasta is priced at $1.50 each. Just think about it.

Just stick by your store, if this is what you serve on the daily basis, at least stand by it and don't call me out for having an issue with your product.

Your bread was probably the best I've had ever. That bar was set wayy to high sorry to say. Not kidding.

Went to celebrate a birthday dinner, this is a great no frills Italian restaurant. Great portions, great flavours, great price.

Show up on time as they are often booked. The ambiance is very non-pretentious, which is great for a relaxed night out.

Amazing Italian food in a beautiful neighbourhood setting. The food is spot on every time, fresh and delicious. The servers are highly professional, overall my favourite place for Italian food in the city. Really enjoyed the Linguinie di Mare this evening and the Tiramisu is insane!

Delicious, traditional Italian cuisine. Helpful, hospitable, and thoughtful staff. Y Not is a small-sized restaurant, but it is very charming with its warm atmosphere.

Best Caesar salad I've ever had! The entire meal was absolutely divine from the Penne alla Vodka to the Crème Brûlée (a must try if you go, it was so creamy and smooth). Despite being very busy that eve with a bit of a wait, Peter was so hospitable and immediately offered us a glass of prosecco as we waited. So happy I discovered this gem in our neighbourhood. I will definitely be returning again soon!
