This place use to be amazing! The staff and service use to be perfect! Went yesterday with a group and the service was just terrible and you can tell the place is starting to falling apart, and bathrooms were pretty dirty. I'm giving it a 3 star because the food was still good at least.
We went to dinner last night, and listen, I am not the one to complain too much on food or service. Everyone has their own ways of dealing with certain situations in life. However, the food was sub-par and the noodles were not good at all. Service was excellent as always there, but the food was not worth the $160 at all. I was extremely disapointed on the taste and value of the food. For dinner it was not worth going. Better off at lunch, but don't think we will be returning either way. I would go elsewhere where your money is worth the food.
My fiance and I came into the restaurant not knowing what to expect. MY GOD was it delicious, food came out fast and hot, meat was tender, sushi and sashimi was well done and so good.
Staff was friendly and helpful, also the price was reasonable given the good quality of the food. We will be back for sure!
This was my second time at the location since I’ve been here before for a birthday party. I really enjoyed it then so I decided to bring my family from out of town to have the Yangs special experience.
Unfortunately the service was horrible. It seemed like they wanted to get out of there as quick as they could so there was no show. What’s teppanyaki without all the flames and fun?
The 2 chefs sharing the area decided to tackle the meals together. One made the rice as the other one made the meats.
If there wasn’t gonna be a show, I would have never decided to take my family there. That will probably be the last time I go there.
We came for lunch on a Sunday. Huge place and it was empty. Already not a good sign. Nevertheless we decided to stay for an AYCE lunch and boy were we disappointed… the food was very poor quality. The fried rice was extremely oily, same for the noodles it tasted like a fried egg and not fried rice. The sushi was very poor quality compared to other buffet style restaurants that we go to like Sparkley or 168. Taste was dull and we didn’t really eat at all. Most of the food stayed on the table as weren’t about to even finish it. We ended up leaving hungry, paying $120 for a family of 4 lunch and going for a quick pizza as compensation… I wouldn’t recommend going there. Spend your well earned money elsewhere. There’s plenty around and all are pretty much a few levels up from this place.
If you’re looking for great vegetarian options Along with non veg in sushi - then Yang’s is the perfect place to be. Great staff, super variety and great value for money as well. Highly recommend!
The chefs were fantastic, food was good. The price was average. The place is in desperate need of a makeover, bathroom were terrible and one sink didn't work. The server was most unpleasant, brought forks and just dropped them in a bunch on the eating counter. Was dress in a sweat top, pajama bottoms, couldnt see her face for her hair hanging over her face. The presentation of all employees certainly not Japanese traditions.
The food was good, but the service was terrible. First time we ordered it was okay but the second time it didn't even go through into the system and we waited an hour and a half. Then we ordered again after waiting and still no food came. Then they charged us an extra 30 dollars for the food that never came! Highly suggest going somewhere else.
Decent spot for teppanyaki, it was good food n okay service. The chef cooking ours was good but ive seen better. But definately worth a try for teppanyaki experience. The fried rice tho, I'd say one of the best.
The portions were strange and unspecific. The waitress informed us that a set can feed up to 2 people, but the portions and sides suggested otherwise. The food tasted good however and I wouldn't hesitate to return.
Weekend dinner is $39.99 per person. The rolls were tasteless. Someone forgot to add vinegar to the sushi rice. Thank goodness we only ordered one roll. The rest looked good but mostly bland. The beef ribs dish is the best dish we ordered.
Came here around noon on a Thursday for lunch and the place was not busy at all. Service was super quick and portion sizes were good. Food tasted fresh and was very delicious!
Awesome Teppanyaki Experience. I plan to do this again another time with my family to see if the show is different or the same depending on the chef. Great overall taste, kids had a blast. The only reason it didn't get five stars was because I'm looking for a little more showman ship from the chefs. Our chef did good but there is room for improvement and creativity. The Fillet minion was a perfect medium rare and the warm lychee saki is a must for saki lovers! If the next show is different and more interactive I will update to 5 stars.
When I first went here years ago the food was great and so was the service. Now the food is good and the service is almost nonexistent.
I shouldn't have to wait from a reservation at 7: 30 until 8: 20 to have the food start. Nobody came to check if we needed other drinks or a refill on our water. So many places expect a tip and you barely get service this is one of those places.
Dining room - all you can eat - really misses the mark. Staff are unable to fulfill any requests - they nod in agreement - but possibly have not understood what was asked. Food would have been great - especially our main - had the RICE come along with the meats/fish. The rice was served as we were ready to leave. Hardly worth the $ for all you can eat.
Went today for lunch. Most of the staff were unfriendly. No sashimi and we still paid $60 for two of us. The salmon was stringy and not much selection at all. The place also needs a really good cleaning! Yuck!
Possibly the worst AYCE sushi experience I ever had. I came in with high hopes this place would please our palettes, but the fish felt rubbery and the mackerel was extremely mushy and broke inside my mouth in a bad way. I only decently liked the beef enoki mushroom roll, but other than that the Sushi rolls felt really dry and left out in the room temperature for a very long amount of time. The soy sauce also was very watered down with water and I was very sadly disappointed as well with the Takoyakj and Scallops which came smothered in Kewpie mayo. Please see my photo provided of my “Volcanic Roll” which tasted sour & made of questionable ingredients. Everything felt very cheap and I was not happy after eating. The young waiters were lukewarm to us but didn’t say much or do anything spectacular to make our experience any better. We will not be returning unless the food preparations and quality of ingredients improve. I am very sorry but to give this experience a one star.
We ordered a lot of food and pretty happy with what we had. A very reasonable price for all you can eat menu has a variety number of small dish options to choose from. They also have 3 of the private tables for teriyaki meals with chef cooking at your table. It would be great for families and friends get together to enjoy a dinner/show together. The restaurant is clean and the service is very good. Too bad they only have one option for soup.
I was celebrating a loved one’s birthday and made reservations for 3 people for Wednesday November 17 at 12 noon. We were seated and given menus. Our server came by about 10 minutes later and took our drink orders. When the tea arrived it was cold, so we requested a second pot - specifically requesting that it be made with boiling water. It arrived just a little bit warmer.
“Oh well, ” I thought - maybe we were too early for the staff.
We waited……and waited……. And waited……. Our order was not taken until 12: 40 with the chef arriving at the table to cook at ONE O’CLOCK! On hour after our reservation! This is completely and totally unacceptable. If this had been a working day for me, I would have been forced to walk out.
I questioned the server, he said they had to wait for the table to heat up (?). That’s why I made a reservation! I had another appointment that afternoon that I needed to rearrange because of this delay. I asked to see a manager and was met with a more senior member of staff but he didn’t seem to have much authority. What I did find out though - was that there was another party that was supposed to be going the table and we were supposedly waiting on them! Why did we need to wait for another group when I specifically requested a 12: 00 reservation?
In conclusion - the food was excellent but the service was not. I hate to look for another teppanyaki restaurant but might have to choose somewhere else to go in future.
I look forward to hearing from a senior staff member or management to be reassured that this experience will not happen again.
Food was amazing.we also had a great conversation with the manager and she was really nice and treated her customers with good service. Would come back again and highly recommend the “eat all you can”
Service/Staff and Food is good. However, the place does seem to be in need of some major renovations. The 3 star rating is driven by the unclean restrooms. I've been to the place a few times, did not comment as I thought the washroom situation was one-off. However, on my last visit, I found broken faucets, broken soap dispenser, no paper towels etc. I will encourage management to look into this to help develop a positive images about your overall experience.
Service was ok, good enough, but not excellent. Food was tasty, fresh and hot and didn't take long to reach our table. Buffet price was lower than most places I checked. Atmosphere was nice and modern, all staff were properly wearing masks. I would recommend to check it out and I would definitely go back again, only issue is the ladies bathroom was disgusting, and in need of urgent repair/renovation, hopefully that gets resolved soon.
Attentive staff and great food! I have been to many sushi places in the area like Akita, Shitake, ETC. However non of them beat this one! By far the best sushi in town.
The food is consistently fresh and yummy, staff members gives fantastic customer service. I loved how clean it is and atmosphere. Will come visit again.
Absolutely a waste of time and money. The sashimi was small, dry, and tasted weird. Most of the food wasn't as advertised in their menu. The beef on the same plate tasted different. Everything was inconsistent and finally my friend got mild food poisoning. Will never go again.
Very good experience. The food was great. The tablets were convenient. The menu met my needs. The food was great! I beleive the pop was free refill. Tip was auto grat 10%.
The restaurant is awful with harsh behavior by the dining waiters. They say it all you can eat but after one hour they forcefully ask eaters to leave the place although there was not much people around there. And the waiter asked my family to return the order pad. Circustic and frustrating service compare to Heart Sushi. My family is a regular visitors of Heart Sushi but due they have limited service now thought for an alternative and been into this restaurant but our overall expectation got crashed being here.
They need to improve significantly with their food quality (with variety of sushi items) and dining waiters behavior at a big time. We never plan to go there again with all these experiences.
The food is delicious no cap. I went Feb 26 for the Teppanyaki experience after peel region was allowed to open up again and everything was clean, employees were wearing masks, hand sanitizer at the corners of every table, and really friendly staff. All customers were social distancing too. Definitely worth the money because the portions for Teppanyaki were HUGE. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. A great experience overall.
Asking for table of 3 for dine in but the unfriendly crew eventhough there is a lot of table he told me to wait for 15 mins. It looks like the place not good. Never ever to try this place.
Waited 45 mins to get a seat. Half hour later, they took our tablet away and basically told us we have to leave soon. (Seating time is one hour and 30 mins.) They continued to bring other people in to eat. First time we went it was the 2 of us and they automatically put the 15% "gratuity tip" themselves. Last night there were 3 of us and again, we were automatically charged the $11.50 tip, (2 of us) when we weren't even happy with the service or treatment.
This was our first time here and it was definitely better then what we expected. We had the AYCE and the food tasted great! All items we ordered from the menu tasted fresh, well seasoned and well cooked. They have an 1h30 max sitting policy, which is understandable. It’s clearly marked at the entrance.
Fast service great atmosphere Amazing quality fish super fresh Food is awesome no complaints on any order i made through the all you can eat experience and was more than satisfied. Chef was wicked
I was not impressed with dinner at Yang’s Tappanyaki last night. They missed the mark. I have been numerous times and have always left fairly satisfied but last night I was very disappointed. The edamame tasted like it was sitting in the back way to long and the calamari wasn’t fresh. The sushi and sashimi - the same. The whole table felt like that so it wasn’t just me. New Years Eve dinner was on point. Maybe it was just an OFF day for them last night in the kitchen. Very dissatisfied.
A fun time with family. The chef included my 9 yr old grandson in a portion of the cooking along with some of the adults. The food was plentiful and tasty. A very pleasant experience that took place in an area away from the rest of the regular seating area.
Came here for lunch for the teppanyaki service/meal. The chef put on a great and entertaining show. The highlight of the lunch was the onion "house" fire and the egg fried rice. Among the protein that I tried (shrimp, tofu, chicken, steak, and short ribs), my favourite was the shrimp and short ribs. Overall, the food quality was very good from the teppanyaki menu. For sushi a la carte, it was decent. I rated my time here 4/5 as the appetizers and sushi came at the very end of our meal when we were already done the teppanyaki. I'm sure it was a simple mistake of the server forgetting to place our order. Regardless, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Went in on a Friday night. Food tasted like it was pre made, and reheated to order. Sashimi was off, smelt and felt funny. Short ribs were definetly reheated and tasted off. Came home and no more than an hour later, my partner and I became incredibly sick. Threw up multiple times and got cold sweats. Never EVER comming back here. I wouldn't not recommend this place for anybody.
I was having a good time until we found a 2 inch hair embedded into the salmon on one of the rolls. Gross. The staff didn't do much to apologize, other than take that plate away.
The food itself is okay. But there's not a big selection of sushi and rolls compared to other ayce places. Most of the rolls were some variation of california roll with stuff on top.
I didn't have an absolute terrible time but I probably won't be coming back due to the sanitary concern.
This is my familys goto restaurant whenever we goto Wonderland or Vaughan Mill mall. We have been to this restaurant many times, its absolutely elegant inside. The sushi, rolls and sashimis were fresh and delicious. This restaurant is a great choice for bringing the kids out to have fun at the teppanyaki table or enjoy an delicious all you can eat or the A la carte. The price were reasonable to the quality of the food. And the waitress there were very helpful and friendly. We always had an great time with the family and kids there.
Service was horrible! Our server abandoned our table after bringing our initial order, he was in the back playing video games (can hear it when going to the washroom). Both of us have food poisoning, as most of the food served was not fresh. I am not one to leave negative reviews but this place is TERRIBLE.
Three words: Don't eat here.and trust me, I dont give bad reviews but this place is a disaster. Waited one hour for drinks! Waiters are clueless. Dont do it, just don't
Not a very good experience. The food is absolutely not worth the price. It tastes like every other sushi place, with the same portions but the price is unnecessarily high. We paid $200 for 3 people all you can eat dinner and two rolls for take out. They allowed a group of children to yell and scream in the teppanyaki area for dinner, and my family and I had to scream over them to hear each other. The service was very slow and they forgot a few items. And I waited 10 minutes after paying for take out that I ordered half way through my meal, only to have to remind them to make it (only two rolls). I used to come all the time but the service has gone down drastically and will not be coming back.
This place used to be great, but went today and the quality has gone way downhill. Unfortunately price is still high (which was fine before when the quality was fantastic). Definitely will not return.
Good quality food. I do find the price of ayce to be pricey considering the size of the menu. There were only 6-8 types of rolls on the menu and not much variety. Service was a bit slow. Few items were forgotten.
