Yardies Caribbean Cuisine

I colleagues and I had to jerk chicken dinners. They were actually very tasty. Chicken was moist and the gravy was flavourful. Came with plantains, coleslaw, and some steam cabbage. Would come back 100%

I ordered for the first time from Yardies via Doordash today. I ordered the goat soup in the 10oz size, but when I got the box, I couldn't help but notice how small it was. Curiousity got the best of me and I measured out the soup, and it came to a total size of about 6.7oz. I have to say that is an incredibly dishonest business practice. Not to mention I paid $7.50 for it plus tax and service fees! It tasted great, but I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning as you are not receiving the value advertised.

I ordered 2 plates. Jerk and oxtail with rice. The food was ok. Unfortunately it turned my belly bad. I will try it again tho.

Their jerk pork recipe is phenomenal! Tender meat, excellent jerk seasoning, with the right amount of spice, flavourful rice and delicious plantain. Portion to price is very reasonable for a large. I'll definitely be back! Wish they had a Toronto location.

If u come from Jamaica like me don’t eat here, you won’t be impressed. Jerk chicken with no flavour or pepper ina it. Go to sunrise instead you’ll be better off

Had Jerk and Curry chicken. This is now going to be a regular. Staff is professional and it was an overall good experience. Not to mention that they didn't take items off the menu like a lot of other places.

Update: had the jerk pork roti and it was more like salt fish with extra oil. It's my fault for trying something new on the menu when I had clear winners already. Leaving it at 5 stars as my overall experience is great.

1 HIT WONDER. I threw the food to the birds and they didnt even eat it. Most people dont come here a second time I sure wont. People in Durham are so desperate for takeout that anything is a 5 star to them especially those who cant boil water.

Not a dine-in suitable place for families. They are three booths and it is not an intimate setting. Food is great.

The line up of customers at Yardies lets you know that their food is on point. I’ve now tried their jerk chicken and stew chicken dinners. Both were flavourful and a generous portion. The dinner comes with their coleslaw, which I highly rate! I love the flavour and consistency of their coleslaw. Luckily, I work close by to give me a chance to try more items on their menu. Next visit will be for their oxtail.

My new favorite Caribbean restaurant love the food here got to get early for the lunch specials they sell out fast definatley give this place a try I go to the one just west of Whites Rd.and Kingston Rd. If ya blink you'll miss it.

Usually this place I will be giving it a 4 star, I always get the oxtail and rice peas. I was to far away to return the food after I found a short hair in the food, I removed it and continued to eat it being cautious for any surprises. Everything is on point just be careful of the hairs Yardies.

Now this is real jerk chicken. Tasty. Rice good. Extra sauce not a problem. Pepper sauce on point. Usually busy but worth wait. The other location not as good. They have beer and sweets too. You get authentic taste here. Not many seats to dine in but you will be eating in your car as soon as you pickup as you won't want to reach home to eat. Love this place. Also not on skip but the other food delivery does it for a fee well worth it.

Really good jerk chicken sandwiches. The chicken is made on charcoal grill and has a bit of a kick.can use some more veggies + plantain

I’ve eaten plenty of roti in Toronto throughout the years and Yardies has the best! I had the chicken and my wife had the goat and she agreed with me. The portion of meat to potatoes was about 80/20. Other places I’ve been to was about 50/50. We found our go to place in the Durham region and it is on the way home from work. Even my in-laws from Brazil enjoyed every bite of their goat roti. They couldn’t stop saying how delicious it was.

My new favourite place to buy Jerk Chicken. The combination of the pickled onion and extra gravy is simply delicious. My only regret was buying the smaller size. Can't wait to try the other items on the menu.

The white rice was over cooked. The oxtail was pale and lacked flavour/seasoning/stewing had to use pepper sauce for flavour. Not edible.

This is a restaurant in Pickering- Durham. The oxtail and goat curry is a must have.the owner is super friendly… he is in the right business.always wears a smile and greets you.

I usually order from Yardies pretty often. I get the jerk chicken with rice and peas. I ordered for dinner tonight and I’m not sure why but the rice was different, it felt very soft and over cooked. The chicken didn’t taste fresh, Im sure sure it was over a day old.

I’m so sad cause this place used to be so good. I haven’t ordered from there for over two months now. Did they change owners?

We love us some Yardies! One of our favourite restaurants and the best Caribbean food in Durham! Ox Tail, Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, Stew Chicken are fantastic and thier soups are amazing!

Placed a big order for take away yesterday and everything was so deliciously made. Yardies didn't disappoint at all. We'll definitely be back.

Small little Caribbean restaurant in Pickering. I love their jerk pork, and fried chicken. I haven't been for breakfast yet but I'm sure it's good too. I'm slowly workin my way through their menu but so far. I have no complaints. Their fry dumpling and festivals are the sofest and melt in your mouth dumpling I have ever had from a Caribbean restaurant. Keep up the great work!

Ready-fast service and extremely delicious authentic jerk chicken! Will definitely ce back when I'm in pickering. Will try a different gravy next time instead of oxtail, because I'm picky about my oxtail gravy lol

Dried out curry goat some pieces where cold a bit pricey.new location wont last long with alwyns next door.the roti spot has the best goat around and its boneless.to each there own but im always left disappointed at yardies.

Crazy portions, one large is good for 2-3 people. High quality ingredients, got the goat, highly recommended!

I knew this spot was going to be great when I saw that smoker out back, great jerk chicken, the jerk sandwiches are perfect and priced fairly. Quick service and large portions. The drinks made by Jojo are delicious!

Ordered large jerk pork meal and it was good. Pork was not dry. The pickled onions is a good add-on. Will definitely be back to try their ox tail and salted fish.

Wow! Yardies has some of the best jerk chicken & pork I have tasted outside of Jamaica. They actually smoke their meat so it is jam-packed with flavour! The gravy & pickled onions were also amazing. Service was also incredibly fast & friendly. Will be coming back here time and again.

Best jerk food out there! I wanted to take pictures but I couldn't help but eat the food quick becuase it was so good! Authentically cooked and taste. Everything is good but I love the jerk pork! This place is a weekly visit for us. Plus the staff and energy is phenomenal! 10 star rating!

Where have you been all my life? ! By far the best Caribbean cuisine in Durham. We have lived in Durham for 17 years and we finally found a place that we will definitely order from again! The food is absolutely delicious and they are so generous with the servings. Absolutely highly highly recommend! 5 star deserved!

Hard to find a good authentic brown stew chicken, but Yardies nails it. Just ordered for the first time through Uber Eats and definitely will be ordering again. I think I finally found my spot in Durham for West Indian food

Read about this place on another site and Wow, did not disappoint. I had the jerk pork and it was the best I ever had. Portion size is great. Worth a try. I know we are going back.

Stew chicken - disappointed heavily

jerk chicken - one of the better places to get jerk chicken

jerk chicken sandwich - overload of coleslaw.remove it and itll taste good

coleslaw - tasty

pepper sauce - good balance of sweetness with the heat

portion sizing - not good for stew chicken, decent for the jerk sandwich

overall disappointed, but 3 stars for the flavour and taste in their jerk chicken.thats the only thing that held it up for me.

Staff was pleasant, the food was amazing. Pick up time was on point. The food tastes amazingly great.
