The selection is super hit or miss but the prices make up for it. I'm talking shirts for $3-$5 sometimes even $1! This is the cheapest thrift store I've ever seen.
Small shop, small selection of low-quality clothing, just a few bad shoes. But the main problem is their idiotic policy - they locked their change rooms because they want you to buy stuff without trying. And if the size turns to be wrong or an item is defective, they will not refund you. It's a waste of time to go there
When i visited here, it was limited items for men. More on women. Still, i was able to find one, a sweater that cost 0.50 cents. Thanks to the staff assited me.
Really nice thrift store, with actual thrift store prices. You can find lots of cool stuff for really cheap, and the clothes are pretty well organized. There's a big selection of items, and a 'rescued' section with items from 50c! Value village has gotten so expensive, so it's great to see a store that's still accessible for people and has decent items.
Very nice, clean thrift store. They could use more stuff though so I donated to them because the Yonge Street Mission is a worthy cause. Staff are pleasant and helpful.
Books are 50¢, and at that price you just can’t go wrong. When I come here I find myself taking more risks, trying out books I’m not sure I’ll like, but which in any case will expand my horizons, which is what thrifting is all about.
I love this place. You can find some great stuff at an affordable price, however, they are starting to mark up some prices. Please don't charge a whole lot as if the item is new, especially when it's clearly in used shape. Thanks:)
Found some amazing stuff here for cheap. You also know the money is going back to the community instead of places like value village that pretends to be a thrift store
Stopped by on a Wednesday evening to drop off donations. Apparently the donation area is closed at 4pm even though the store closes at 8pm. I don't understand why they don't want donations for 4 hours a day when they are open. They should put a donation bin at the front or near the till. I mentioned this to a staff member and she accepted my donation in the end.
Had a look around and was mildly disappointed with the way things were organized. Not a lot of care with trying to organize things into sections rather some stuff like shoes and kitchenware spread across the store.
This is a small shop compared to chain thrift shops and staff if generally helpful.
Selection is okay but natural dependent on what is donated.
Stop by if you're in the neighbourhood to have a poke around. Certainly don't hesitate to drop off donations when you are able.
Hello my experience at double take is always a wonderful experience and I shop there alot staff are very friendly and are willing to help u I have never ever had a bad experience at double take
This place has changed hands, lowered the quality of merchandise and uped the prices. It was once one of my go-to places. Now it's like picking through the garbage. It's not worth the walk anymore. Too bad I once loved going there.
Such a great place to get some really great finds. Amazing on the great treasures you find in such vintage styles! Absolutely loved the jacket I bought here
I discovered this thrift store just recently and I was glad that I did, I had stopped in to look and see if they might have a set of speakers for my turntable, pm they didn't have any on that particular day but said that I should check back in time to time as they're getting new stuff pretty much every day. So I did return to the store about a week later and to my surprise I noticed that they had just gotten in five brand new just out of the box turntables with speakers built in and reasonably priced so I ended up buying one the staff there are amazing and very helpful, and one worker in particular was very very nice to me her name is Rehab, I will definitely recommend this store to other people
A thrift store is typically only as good as the donations it gets but this one is dropping the ball in all the areas where it can improve the shopping experience.
Some items are very reasonably priced. I saw plenty of low end clothes marked at $5 and glassware at $1 but it seems the moment an item has a brand on it they’re over pricing. I saw a Zara skirt at $16 and a vintage fur coat for $130… that’s just greedy from a thrift shop.
Very disorganized. They’re is not one housewares or shoes section, they’re all just scattered around different areas of the store.
Not much care is taken when they tag items for size. The options are small, medium, large or xl but I saw lots of items incorrectly tagged and placed.
I prefer thrift shops who make more of a difference for the community than value village but the experience shopping here was just awful.
Amazing thrift store. Prices are way lower than value village or salvation army s thrift store. The store is also clean and well organized.
I especially love their clearance section. Everything on their clearance section is three dollars or less. I often find nice prices in their clearance section for only a dollar each
One of the amazing things about this store is their rewards program. For every dollar you spend, you receive ten cents back on your account for your next purchase.
Amazing store! Staff is also very wonderful! Friendly and helpful
Had a wonderful experience - it's super clean and organized! I was able to find a pair of mom jeans ($12), a men's button up shirt for layering ($9), and a cropped sweater ($1 from the clearance section) ; they are all in really good condition.
Very good selections of Brooks Brothers, and other high end Suits in good conditions. Love the whole store in general. Can be even better if there are some selections of men's Sportsjacket, Blazers, and jewelry. Need more sizes of designers clothing as well
Pretty great shop! The store is clean and clothing is well organized. There is a perpetual 50% discount on most clothing. I do find many items (not clothing) to be perhaps a bit overpriced- like a $3 tag on a $2 Dollarama item, but the money supports a good cause- the Yonge Street Mission!
There is one sales staff who is personable and takes the time to ask how I'm doing and have small friendly conversation, the rest seem a little more reserved, but generally feel welcome.
Fairly small store with limited selection but higher quality items. A descent collection of wedding dresses in good condition. There was a special Showcase room but it was closed (limited hours for that section). FREE parking!
Very rarely add new books to the section and some of the books have been on the shelf for over a year. It is better to have empty space then the same old.
Most of the clothing is regularly 50% off, which makes the prices pretty standard for a Toronto thrift store. The store support YSM's work in Toronto, so it's a legit charity shop.
One of the better organized and cleaner secondhand places in Toronto. The eternal half off sale is just silly honestly but it's nice that the prices hover lower than value village for usually better quality stuff.
Loved my experience here, Samantha was incredibly nice and respectfull when I had trouble looking for what i wanted. Really awesome girl who really cares for customers that come in. Very happy with how Samantha was treating other customers too. She's awesome and brightened up the whole store forsure. Thanks Samantha!
This place is amazing. The clothes they sell are freshly washed and pressed and in excellent condition. Employees are nice, friendly and helpful. I can say only good things about it. They accept cards too.
Items are overpriced but I got lucky during a 50% off sale. One member of their staff was incredibly rude to my small child so that was off putting. Good deals when you factor in the discount, but not likely to frequent the shop again.
The store is clean and you see very nice clothes there, but, come on. This is supposed to be a thrift store yet some of their items are even more expensive than Shirts at like H&M at full price. There was a thrift store closer to my home that was much more cheaper and way more friendlier but they shut down, so I end up going to this location now. Some of the employees follow people around the store. I got very bad senses from them when wherever I was one of the employees were literally two steps behind. I see this is a common thing between other people and it really takes away from a peaceful shopping experience. I go to thrift stores instead of malls to find cheaper clothes but I could find cheaper clothes at the mall. 28 bucks for a used long sleeve. No thanks.
Staff are often very rude and follow people around the store that are not dressed in expensive clothing. They mumble about actions of poorer looking people, whispering not too quietly about fearing to allow them in change rooms. It is much too expensive for the neighbourhood and all items are donated. Grab bags of jewelry are loaded with junk. Discounts are good, pricing seems random and keeps all well made donations for the rich customers. Should also have a free bin for items that are slightly damaged.
Followed by staff, no rewards discount offered at cash and the prices are ridiculous! The store was clean but some of the stock has been there for months because of the awful pricing. Staff are not as courteous as they were years ago when it was a good place to shop on a fixed income.
The place is clean and the clothes they sell are washed and pressed. The 50 per cent sale of clothes and shoes is a good way to get dressed at a decent price. The place is run by the Young Street mission and employs new Canadians and others in need of a starting job. They learn enough to find a future position in retail. The service is what to be expecting in a learning environment but they all strive to make your shopping experience pleasant and rewarding.
Like other reviewers here have said: The staff at this store are beyond rude and unhelpful. It must be the same one woman, I asked if I could put down my items in a change room while I continued to look as they were heavy (and I couldn’t find any baskets) and she freaked out at me for even suggesting such a thing in case someone else wanted a change room.there was no one else in the store except me. Unbelievable. The way the staff follow you around the store because they have nothing else to do is also irritating. While I found the prices to not be too insane as most stuff was 50% off the bad vibes from the staff and their attitudes have sent me shopping elsewhere. I’ve never experienced such poor customer service at a second hand store in my life. Thumbs down.
I had picked up a few books at 50 cents each the other day. Total came to 4 dollars. I pulled out my debit card to pay - unfriendly woman at cash informs me you need 5 dollars minimum to use debit. I thought I would go back to the book section and pick a few more books, so I was going to ask her if she could hold my 8 books while I do that. I got as far as ' would you mind holding these while. " when she cut me off and said "we don't hold things for customers'. Rude, unhelpful staff - as if they didn't rely on our purchases and donations to keep the place going. Hello Value Village!
Unreasonably overpriced. I get that the money goes back into the mission but I honestly believe that they do more harm then good at those prices especially when located in a high poverty neighborhood. Would never return or recommend unfortunately.
