ELEVATED DIMSUM! Came here with some friends today and it was so fire! Amazing service, great atmosphere and most importantly fresh & beautiful Dimsum. Got a little bit bbq flake bun was my personal favourite; sweet, savoury and salty! Going to come back and try more of the chefs dishes with some dimsum of course! GAS ALERT - giverago pal.

Consistent with their high quality dim sum, great ambiance and efficient staff. One of the best quality dim sum places around.

We been here many times for dinner, experiences were good.
Today is my first time here for dim sum lunch…
Even we booked the table for 4, we arrived before our booking time, we still had to checkin then wait in line, there was table for 4 and they gave it to walk-in people
Dim sum just so so.
And service is horrible, worst then the lower class Chinese restaurant.
I have to put the empty dishes onto the side tray the entire lunch, they don’t come to clear empty dishes.
And my sister had to beg the waitress to add tea leaves to our tea pot, as the tea was tasteless since we sat down at our table.
At the end, we asked for small boxes to box the food. Bad attitude. Actually our waitress been black face since we sat down.
And the front counter showed options for credit card, cash and debit… when paying bill, they only gave us cash or debit options

Wouldn’t go again for dim sum.

This is the best place for dim sum outside of Asia! Price is excellent, food incredible and a place not to miss. Get a reservation as lines can be 2hours for a table

The design/architect of this restaurant is very nice. Staff are friendly and try to work efficiently with the traffic flow of the rush - covid friendly. The presentation of the food is spectacular. The flavour is a little more on the sweet side and not as salty/savoury as you’d expect for a Chinese restaurant but overall a great experience.

Went there for a family brunch. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing, we ordered dim sum and some sushi which was beyond amazing

Seafood Yu has a good atmosphere. The restaurant creates a pleasant ambiance, which is an essential factor in enhancing the overall dining experience. Areas for improvement: taste of some dishes is below the expectations. This is a significant concern as the quality and taste of the food are vital aspects of any dining establishment. Consistency in taste and flavors across all dishes is crucial to ensure customer satisfaction.

Another update of today. August 8.

Similar. Front service was bad. Not impolite, however, 4-6 people tables, they served the group with the number after ours on the waiting list.

It's a very nice system, 1-3 people in group A, 4-6 in group B, 7-12 group C.
However, 4-6 they choose 4 or 5 or 6, under their priority list, A good system but screw up by the front desk staff.

I asked why, they said because the other one had 6 people and we had 4, that's why. I questioned them. No help.

After few minutes, we were led to a table for 6 people. Please refer to the photo of our table for 6. What a joke! They served with preference, not according to rules.

Waitress was good and providing friendly services. Thank you!

I was there for dim sum lunch today.
Food is better than years ago when I did the first review.

Service was good in general especially Grace.
However, the first impression was bad by the attitude of the one leading customers to the tables.
I was asked to enter info to the machine in the front. The 2 customers, in front of us, were led by the staff into the dining room. The same staff came to us and confirmed we had 4 people, same way as she led the previous customers, then we followed her.
When we were in the dining room, no one was leading us to the table and that staff asked us to go back out to the lobby! Why did she come to ask us if there was no table since the info was entered. If it was not because of that staff, I would have given a better review. The first impression from her had ruined it.
A manager, I believe, asked if we were okay with a bigger table, issue resolved. Thanks to him!

Food is not bad. Service is fine. Receptionist was just ok, not friendly nor pleasant.
Inside is like a maze. Washrooms are upstairs. 1st time there, beware there's a mirror at the end.

We came here at 9: 30pm and the door sign shows they closed at 11: 30pm. We went in there and there was only three parties eating. We tried to order food quickly and the food came out quickly. Food was fine but a bit pricey comparing to the same cusine in this area. At 10: 15pm we got all the food and waitress came to me and said they are closing. I was like what? You still have at least 1 hour to leave and you are trying to kick me out? That's fine I am okay to pay the bill first and enjoy the rest of my food. I left 18% tip which is almost $100 and I am so regret. After 2 mins I signed my check and I heard a woman spoke mandarin to her co-worker to ask us when do we finish our meal. The waitresses came to our table and tried to take our plate and utensil out. Later on a women came to our table and spoke to us: How can you sleep when you eat so late? Once I heard that stupid question from the restaurant manager I have no interested to eat anymore. To be honest food is okay but the attitude of the workers was reallllllly bad. We left at 10: 45pm with a bad mood.

I don't recommend people to come to this restaurant. You will be treated like nothing you are.

We went for an expensive seafood dinner in a private dining room. The seafood was excellent but the service was disappointing. We told them one person has severe peanut allergy and they placed a bowl of peanuts as one of the appetizers. The main server was constantly occupied somewhere else throughout the dinner and didn’t change our plates. They didn’t divide the portions for us for most of the dishes. This is not what should be expected when someone spends over $1000 for dinner at a high end Chinese restaurant.

Always good. Went on a Wednesday lunch. Still pack with people. Waited 15mins. Usually need to wait an hour during weekend. Food is good. Service is good.

RUDE. SO TERRIBLY RUDE. If only I can rate negative for food, service and atmosphere. TERRIBLE. TREATS YOU LIKE DIRT. DO NOT GO. THEY TREAT PEOPLE LIKE DIRT. The receptionist is SO RUDE and CONDESCENDING. Just because there are a lot of people waiting and you have a lot of customers, doesn’t mean you can treat people this way. Keep this up and people will stop coming. I’ll tell everyone I know to not go. Their food is more expensive than other places but service is the WORST. And the fact that the manager only reply to certain reviews? This is a joke. Why pay to be treated that like dirt? Lol

We hosted a baby shower in the VIP room and it was amazing. It had a minimum spending requirement but comes with a dedicated waiter as well as a private washroom. Their dim sum was full of surprises and extremely delicious. Overall very happy with the experience.

Great Chinese restaurant. It should be on one of the tops listed. Prices of the dim sums are slightly higher but with quality. Tables and seats arrangement are good during this pandemic period. Reasonable numbers of waiters/ waitresses serving.

The food here was good, did not enjoy the pug cake. They should indicate on the menu that certain things are not available until 11am, but the servers politely told us after putting in our order. The were very quick and efficient to serve us all the dishes we requested which was impressive considering how busy they were on a Saturday morning. Would go back here for sure!

They can get busy but they have a system for you to queue and the line moved pretty fast. They had indoor and outdoor dining option as the weather was still good. We went for dim sum and it was top quality and really enjoyable. The staff was attentive and speedy. I would definitely go again!

What I love about this place is not just their great food but service as well.
We especially loved the chocolate pudding in a cute pug's shape!

Yu Seafood is one of the dim sum restaurant I am looking forward all the time.   Upon arrival, everyone has to go through the temperature check before entering the restaurant.   Fancy decoration and amazing services are my first impression.   We ordered their most famous baked bbq pork bun, har gow, siu mai, chiu chow dumpling, steamed beef ball, curry baby octopus, pork hock and egg boiled in ginger and sweetened vinegar, steam egg yolk layer cake, charcoal egg yolk bun, egg white tart, and fish congee with preserved egg.   We ordered way more than we could have finish, but the dim sum is too attractive. The presentation and taste are nice except the egg yolk bun is the most disappointment. It should have been the most favorite dim sum in the restaurant, but the egg yolk is so dry inside the charcoal bun.   Also the curry sauce is too watery, not thick texture enough, so the baby octopus is like "swimming" in the curry sauce.   It might be my personal preference, but I like thicker texture curry sauce and more curry flavors. Overall a wonderful experience to have dim sum in Yu Seafood.

Be aware even tips on HST.
They asked me for how much tips I would like to pay, I chose 15%. When I saw the receipt at home, TIPs=15% (Meal Cost+HST). Two persons for luch.

If you are interested and only available for Dim Sum on the weekend, expect long wait times; best to make a reservation ahead of time in order to save your seat so you don't have to wait as long compared to if you walk-in.

When you arrive, don't expect to be greeted by the front of house as they might be super busy answering calls. Instead, direct yourself to the tablet that is stationed at the counter and check yourself in: they will ask for a name and phone number, sending you a text message whenever it's your turn to be seated (keep an eye on your phone!). If you have a big party, make sure everyone is present or else they will give away the table to the next party that is all there!

My party of two arrived at the location at 11: 40 am and had to wait almost an hour before being seated (Saturday). The staff were pretty ok and courteous in terms of manners/attitude (but I would say it's mainly because we spoke Chinese). We ordered 10 dishes and they all came together after waiting about 10 min.

Took my family there to celebrate my late wifes birthday she would have been 52 on 09/11/21 we went there while she was alive and we loved the seafood, it is the best seafood in town

One of the below average dim sum places. Not sure why there’s such a long line up for this place. Half the food came out room temperature and not hot.
Some guy said the charcoal lau sa Bao was soggy and indeed ours was soggy. You can tell it’s soggy from the picture and it was not fully melted on the inside. The ginger onion tripe we ordered had no ginger or onion. It was bland and flavourless. The chrysanthemum tea we ordered had a mouldy taste. The spare ribs was filled with baking soda. Their world famous cha siu bao was… just bad. Any Chinese bakery can make a better bao than what they brought out. Food definitely did not taste fresh. Mediocre presentation and below avg dim sum food.
There are better places in Markham/Richmond hill, regardless of price.
And for the prices this place slap on, it’s 110% not worth it.

Would give a negative star if I could; strictly for the hostess' service. Went hiking with my family on Labor Day and decided to stop by for dinner. We've been here before but its the first time since the pandemic. We got a number and waited for our table. The hostess told us that both outside and inside were available and allowed my mom to go in and take a look. After my mom came out and said she would like to dine outside, the hostess said outdoors is not open to us. We felt odd but decided to just dine in then. My dad went out to take a call and the hostess said our table is ready and she started to get the menus out. I told my mom we can just go in first and I will get my dad later. My mom turned to face the entrance and the host suddenly bellowed "You cannot go in without me escorting you! " My mom explained that we understand, she just said our table was ready so we were just getting ready to go in. The hostess looked my mom up and down, who was in sports attire, then continued to passive-aggressively laugh at us and went on to belittle us in a condescending tone in front of other guests that in a restaurant, even though our table was ready, we cannot just run in without someone showing us to our table, we had to wait for her.

We had never intended to run into the restaurant, especially since the entrance now has thermometer and scanner for checks. We had never encountered such horrible customer service. My little sister even asked if it was because we weren't dressed as nicely as some of the other guests. We shortly left after we were seated because we were so appalled by the hostess' attitude. This experience completely ruined our appetite and we decided to dine elsewhere.
