Yukashi was probably the best Michelin star restaurant that I have been to so far! Not only was everything delicious but it was such a fun, engaging and overall, entertaining experience. Chef Daisuke and his team exhibited unparalleled hospitality, ensuring our visit was nothing short of exceptional. We went during the Autumn season and each dish featured the freshest Fall ingredients. With each bite, you can tell how much thought and detail Chef Daisuke put into the whole menu. Not only was everything delicious but these dishes are hands down the most beautiful dishes that I have ever been eaten. What an unforgettable experience!

The photos don’t do enough justice for how amazing all of the dishes are. Chef Daisuke is very welcoming and very passionate about every dish of his. He’s also very humorous.
Each dish’s presentation is like a piece of art.
His Washoku - “the harmony of food” is out of this world.
Not only are they beautiful, but they are also super delicious and fresh.

We went as a group of 4 to celebrate our friends' wedding anniversary. It was a truly memorable and tasty experience. The food and the service were fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the torched wagyu and foie gras, the sashimi platter, and the famous melon at the end. The chef was also very engaging, with a good sense of humour.

Thank you for the great evening and for the special anniversary dessert plate for our friends!

I have been to more than 400 Michelin star restaurants and more than 1000 Michelin guide restaurants. I would say this is a very reasonable price with decent food. Service needs to be improved. Atmosphere is just like a noisy bar which didn’t meet our expectations.

Chef Daisuke and team are extremely talented and served up a fantastic 9 course set meal. The flavours and fresh ingredients all worked well together and we left full and completely satisfied. Definitely understand now why it got such high reviews and a Michelin Star. The omakase experience was a first for us and was awesome. Will gladly return and highly recommend!

I had an amazing time here for my anniversary. The chef and his staff were very charming and welcoming. The food was delicious - particularly the plate of sashimi we were provided. I've tried several omakase restaurants here in Toronto and this is definitely one of the best ones around. Would recommend the sake pairing. Well-deserved Michelin star!

An unforgettable experience! Thank you Chef Daisuke Izutsu and team for such personal and attentive service and artful cuisine.

Yukashi recently got a Michelin star, so my husband and I wanted to try it. The restaurant is very small and intimate (three tables, and a bar people can sit at and watch the chef cook). Each course was so unique, and the chef puts so much detail into each piece on the plate. It was a great experience. There is a fixed menu, so you don’t choose your food. You get 8 courses over ~3 hours. The service was fantastic and the servers were very educated on each dish. The chef comes to your table a couple times and makes conversation - very friendly and passionate about his work. To eat there as a couple is ~$700.00 with the sake pairing (highly recommend).

If you know you know, Daisuke Izutsu is the epitome of professional excellence. All of the staff were superb, clearly hand picked, and the food is carefully crafted for an experience second to none. Leave your ego at the door when coming to this establishment and sit back and enjoy. 10/10

We had dinner after read all the positive reviews. Nice deco with intimate setting. Food presentation were unique, taste are above average. Overall it was a interesting experience, with price tag of $650 ($250 pp only option) without any liquor which is more than it worth. Will try some other restaurant next time.

Came here for a barkday dinner and I have nothing but pawsitive things to say about the experience.

It was such a pleasure to sit at the kitchen counter and watch Chef Daisuke Izutsu prepare each dish with so much attention and care. He clearly put a great deal of thought into each ingredient that went on the plate, and everything was presented with such artistry and creativity. Everything was absolutely dog-licious, no matter the simplicity or complexity of the dish! It was a nice change to have an omakase experience that wasn't sushi-centric.

Chef himself was also quite personable and chatted and drank with all the guests. Service was attentive. Definitely a warm, relaxed, and very welcoming atmosphere.

Overall: 5 woofs out of 5.

Amazing 9 course dinner at Yukashi. If you have not experienced Kaiseki style dinner, then this is the place to be. Chef Daisuke Izutsu and staff provided an amazing service that is welcoming but not overwhelming. Thank you for amazing dinner.

Not worth the price. Was expecting more form a michellin star restaurant. But the food quality is just fair

One of Toronto best chefs, hands down. Refined, creative, researched ingredients and dishes respecting the traditional values of Omakase but making it fashion. One Michelin star. Run dont walk.

My fiancee and I had an amazing time, Yukashi is definitely one of the best omakase experience we have had in the GTA. The presentation and the taste of the food is absolutely top notch! Chef Daisuke Izutsu and his staff are very friendly. This is a place that we will be revisiting many many many times!

A stellar meal from the uber-talented Chef Daisuke Izutsu.
Hands down one of the best omakases in the city.

I’m not good with words, but I want to share my first omakase restaurant at @yukashitoronto today. It has truly changed my perspective on how sushi is supposed to be prepared. Every single dishes represent chef Daisuke's attention to detail. It truly awakens my pallets and brings me a new appreciation for Japanese food.

I think the best part Of my dinner is chef Daisuke. He was a delight! I have never felt so comfortable and at home. I didn’t feel like I was at a restaurant but at a friend's house, and we were all having dinner and sharing stories. When the guests leave, chef Daisuke would walk them to the door and thank them. His hospitality is something that I have rarely experienced which truly speak volume about him. I cannot recommend it enough. I will be back.

Highly recommended!

Amazing experience! Can’t say enough about what a great time was had. Food was not only delicious, but each dish was presented like a work of art. Each course was carefully explained and so much preparation must have been done. Service was fantastic too. Thank you chef Daisuke and Ayaka for a fantastic time! Felt like a Michelin star experience.

I would give even more stars if I could! Staff was wonderful, atmosphere was brilliant! It's a very intimate dining vibe. We had the 9 course tasting menu and the experience was worth every penny. Chef Daisuke Izutsu was truly a pleasure to watch and you could tell how much he love and care he puts into his craft.

The 4th course was singlehandedly the best bite of food I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The sake pairings with each course were absolutely perfect. We loved their home-made sake so much we bought an extra bottle to bring home. We had an incredible time and will most definitely be back again soon! Cannot recommend this place enough!

I had a great experience at Yukashi. The food and presentation were second to none and the staff was very friendly. The chef is a pretty funny guy. Highly recommended and we will be back.

For the full experience of omakase, you can select which course set you'd like and add an additional sake pairing. Wasn't much nigiri, however the quality of every plate was superb and well thought out for both appearance and taste. I would come back again and get specific items I loved.

The best omakase restaurant in Toronto, hands down! Must try the 9 course here, you won't be disappointed.
30 May 2019 21:48
Pricy for what you get. Some dishes look and taste delicious but I felt underwhelmed for what I paid. The seasonality of the dishes was interesting, and the uni+foie gras+wagyu was a great combo.
28 April 2019 5:36
The best omakase experience I’ve had in Toronto. Chef Daisuke prepared the dishes right in front of our eyes at the bar in a easy-going casual setting. He explains each dish with details about the origin of the ingredients and a hint of humour. As his ‘signature dish’ as he put it, he served seared wagyu beef with foie gras and uni on top. My partner got a yellowtail/Hamachi as she doesn’t eat red meat, and this big collar piece of the hamachi was both of our favourite dish of the evening. The whole meal took about 3 hours and you’re definitely paying for the quality of the ingredients as well as the whole experience itself of watching an artist at work

Food was amazing! Service just as amazing. We had the 9 course omakse and it was phenomenal! Highly recommend and worth the price. Oishi!
23 February 2019 17:49
First time going and it was such a wonderful experience! To watch the chefs put our dishes together and then to have pleasure of tasting all their hard work was worth every penny. The egg custard was one of the best I have ever tasted! Looking forward to coming back again!

It was a good and different experience compared to other Japanese restaurants in Toronto. The owner takes into alot of care of the food and explaining the way how it should be eaten.

My friend and I went to try the Yukashi set but unfortunately ingredients were not available. The 9 course was good with some interesting features like Wagyu beef with uni and foie gras.

I will try the Yukashi menu next time!
04 February 2019 21:29
All dishes were great, service was very slow. A little bit pricy for me since I prefer paying that price for sushi instead. That being said it is definitely worth trying once.
02 February 2019 12:04
This is the best, if not the only Kappo cuisine in Toronto! (No, it's not a sushi restaurant) Amazing food and service, with painstaking details in every dish. You can see the chef poured his heart into this job.

It is a seasonal menu and the ingredients change based on what's best at that time of the year, so definitely going back to try something new!
02 February 2019 6:29
Really friendly staff and unique take on the omakase. Definitely sit at the counter. Youll have a more enjoyable experience.

We came here for an anniversary dinner and had the 9-course tasting menu. Every single dish was absolutely amazing! The staff were also incredibly kind and friendly and made our evening really special. Highly recommend!
