Great European Market! Expensive but meats are very fresh. Cuts are different from other commercial grocers. There is an aisle just for Chocolate! There is NOTHING that you can't fine in this food market.
10/10 experience. They have a unique selection of foods from Europe and incredible fresh food sections. Their meats and cheeses are above and beyond better than any other store in greater Toronto. I am not a local Toronto resident, but I have spent many months in town with family, and this has always been the store of choice for all of their needs, and I can see way. Their staff are truly wonderful people. They take great care of everyone. It is a small business, and they run into their own problems. But that never deturrs me or family. I don't typically give reviews, but they have left a great impression and deserve recognition.
Really? 2 years later and you are still complying with unscientific capacity limits and forcing people to line up outside in the freezing cold. Are you out of your mind? I'll start supporting businesses that don't go along with government corruption, goodbye!
Simon (store manager) apparently doesn’t know the difference between a mask and a shield, I was wearing a mask, covering my nose and my mouth as per bylaw description, yet they would not allow me to pay for my groceries, even though through out their store right now 515pm they have at least 5 people I seen that had the disposable mask under their nose. Sad that I won’t be ever stepping food into another yummy market again for being discriminated today!
It was a terrible experience and the people in the deli section are very rude. I won’t come back with that attitude that they have. I didn’t hear my number and the lady after me was willing to let me go but the Russian lady in the department said no. That’s it for me
The customer service is very poor in this store and their staff are very rude and untrained. They have negative attitude toward people who don’t speak Russian.
In general it's a good store, fresh, tasty food. I would recommend management to train it's cashiers not to put few glass jars together in a same bag at least without paper wrap
The guys at receiving don't know how to behave. They do discrimination with the companies and drivers I'm not coming again here and wanna tell fellow drivers.
I was sold hot smoked fish instead of cold smoked and had to go back for exchange. Other stores would give you a free product if they made such a mistake but not this one. I'm a 30 min drive away and had to spend time and gas to come back.
Very poor customer service. Employees are aggressively showing attitude and not answering directly if you are asking them questions. Most of them do not speak English, acting with the attitude if customer speaks English to them. As well employees are trained in very aggressive manner if you don’t put the mask on your nose or in case of exemptions. Yesterday I was refused the service just because my mask was not on my nose. She almost through the plastic container on me and run away. I am thinking about legal action against Yummy will speak to my lawyers and get proper advise. We are in Canada not USSR even it’s almost looks like USSR but we still have human rights and Constitution it has not been declined as of today. If any body wants to joint me in legal action please let me know. This is unspeakable and such a behaviour must be stop.
I have never met such a cold and unwelcoming environment! A few days ago we purchased a cake, from the dairy section. Upon taking a bite we noted that the cake had a "weird" after taste, almost as it wasn't cooked or baked properly. We went back to the store, in hopes to get a refund for the purchase, they instantly refused as they mentioned that the "cake" was already open. We tried taking a step further with our issue, by contacting the manager. We explained our situation, but the manager refused to get anything done. The audacity, to not take the cake bake is surreal. What if the customer had gotten sick? My family is extremely disappointed, by the management and the lack of understanding from Yummy market. I hope that near the feature, these issues can be resolved properly with a PROPER management team.
Fantastic store for Eastern European and Russian food. Massive deli, as well as prepared food, hot and cold. The bakery is also good, and the produce selection is impressive.
Love this place! Busy, very well stocked with products almost everything you could want! Meat, fish, produce, amazing prepared foods, deli and cheese sections.
Great choice of Easter European foods, more variety and better quality ingredients! Deli could be a bit more fast moving but deli staff is very patient and helpful. Some trainees don't know much about where's what though.
Absolutely less than one star just for waiting time when they unloaded the truck. Shipping and receiving people they are not even know what they are doing and make the drive waiting outside more than three hours.
I’m sorry to say but the quality of ready foods at yummy market it’s terrible, if you don’t eat the salads or crepes as soon as you bring them home it’s no longer edible, everything that contains some kind of meat like the one in the potato salad with chicken or crepes with chicken and mushrooms taste spoiled (sour), this is not the first time I’ve been getting the food from yummy market and then throwing in a garbage because it is spoiled. Same thing applies to the fresh meat if you purchase a fresh meat you need to cook it the same day if you cook it the next day it smells funny it’s not fresh. I know they had received many complaints about the quality of their food but unfortunately they’re not doing much about it. Me personally and many other people I know just stop buying everything that has a short shelf-life from them due to this concern.
Ignorant, ill informed staff and management. People with exemptions are being discriminated against and denied service for no mask. Boycott the store so that they learn how to respect and honour clients who have faithfully support their business.
After visiting this place for several years I still love this place. They have all kinds of delicious European inspired goodies. The bakery is fantastic, the meats and fish are super fresh! The staff are very friendly. And they even have onsite sushi bar! They were 5 star when I first visited 4 yrs ago, and 5 stars still today.
Horrible communist story! I went to store to get some stuff. At the door one the employees asked me why I’m not wearing a mask. I told him that I have a medical exemption, but he ignored my reason amd asked me to leave. I didn’t stop and entered the store anyway. They were following me while I was in store, and finally I once I approached a cashier, she refused to cash me out! I went to another station amd same thing happened there as well. People please stop going to this store since they don’t value any Canadians value of freedom!
Disregard the unhinged petulant children who are making false bad reviews because they were refused service due to no masks. This business is fantastic and has wonderful food and kind staff. Have been a long time customer and will continue to be.
An amazing place to shop. Great selection and prices. Don’t believe any review you read that is tied to their mask policies. These are being posted by politically motivated malcontents who have nothing better to do with their time. This is a great store managed and staffed by great people.
As a business you have the opportunity to make things right and also to make a difference in the community. You chose the opposite! Hope your store policy works wonders for you in the present and future. You do have great food just poor upper management decisions.
Went here today and saw a sign that I don’t see most places that they don’t accept exemptions, so even though I’m exempt I put on my mask that is clear and went in and 10 minutes later a guy came up and said that’s not a mask and I need to wear the right one… then the manager came and told me the same thing. I told him it doesn’t say anywhere that a mask that’s clear is not good enough, he didn’t care and eventually said I’ll call the cops if you don’t leave.
The so called Yummy Market is the worst in regard of violation of medical exemption on mask. Many people have legitimate reasons for exemption as myself, have been refused services at any location of the Yummy Market. I choose not to shop at their stores.
This grocery store has very rude staff and doesn't understand that store policy does not supercede the law. I will not shop here in the future unless they make an immediate correct and start following the law.
They don’t have any right to asked for mandatory mask! We have juman rights! Never again to consume for a store that doesn’t understand that they exist from the customer! They should learn that!
I will not shop in any store that doesn't allow for provisions under Canadian law and basic human rights. Stores cannot discriminate against exemptions
These poeple don't respect oyr sights so they don't get our money never shopping here again mo mask exceptions honored, that means even if you die from it they don't care.
Shame on you! For discriminating against People with disabilities and medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a face covering. ZERO STARS. Stop shopping here and take your money to a more ethical establishment.
It's always good to buy some food from your home country. You can find there everything that you've missed already: cottage cheese, doctorska kolbasa etc. It'll be a great to have this store in Niagara region as well.
A great supermarket. Their unique products from central and Eastern Europe are awesome. Excellent beer aisle too. This place is really busy on weekends.
This one of the nicest supermarkets I have been to in Ontario. Every department is top notch especially the fresh fish department. The stock all types of fish not just Farmed fish like most of their competitors. They carry all types of smoked fish including smoked Halibut which is to die for. The store is spotless all of the time and they do their best to get you on your way quickly at the checkout counters. This supermarket doesn't cut corners.
This beautifully laid out store offers delicious European food, drinks, and treats for reasonable prices. They have a great produce section with fresh fruit and vegetables. A lot of their produce is from Ontario or other parts of Canada, which is great.
Nice choice of food, but be aware some of it maybe rotten. Purchased salo in the vacuum package and discovered it has mold inside when already left the store. When returned for refund was turned away by the not supportive customer support because they just didn't care. They have also suggested I may be lying! They did not advised they will inspect the rest of the batch, they just "made a face". I left this place, but it is clear they do not maintain food safety standards.
I love Yummy market except. Ii am Polish and I know very well prices for hard (yellow) Polish cheese in Poland. At Yummy Market the prices are 200! % higher than in Poland. I understand.umpirt but still! Moreover, the prices for the yellow cheese went from $ 19.99 in December 2017 to 29.99 in September 2018. I would like to get some explanation. How does the owner justify such a huge increase in the price? Almost 50 % It think this is pure greed. Check the prices for the same cheese in Starsky, Polish store on Dundas East. Disgusting
A truly delightful shopping experience! An incredible array of products and fruits that you may not find on your regular supermarket shelves, as well as your staples. Well laid out with the added bonus of an excellent and diverse deli and hot food counter. It's hard not to linger, so plan some extra time when you make your first visit.
Yummy Market is a unique experience in the Toronto area. The cheese, lunch meat, pastry, fish, and prepared foods counters were each at least as long as the deli counter at a large supermarket. We have never seen such variety of fresh and packaged goods at any other single market in southern Ontario except maybe St. Lawrence Market in downtown TO. Even more fun was that many items had unrecognizable (to us) names or were labeled entirely in Cyrillic. The Russian/Eastern European influence is unmistakable and makes things that much more interesting. We focused on the pastries and baked goods this trip and bought several we had never heard of before. They were all fantastic. Reminder - each fresh food counter has its own "take a number" and if you go on a weekend be prepared to wait. But it's well worth it. We will be back!
Excellent choice of food, including deli, meat, produce, dairy, and most importantly beer and wine. Their selection of beer is much more interesting than Beer Store. Convenient hours of operations: 9 AM - 10 PM Monday-Sat and until 8 PM on Sunday.
This place has really good produce and the staff is very helpful. It also has quick meals. Although if you're going here you should expect some unusual stuff. It's a European supermarket.
They have a good selection of deli meats and cheeses as well as fish and meat. Though don't get the ready made products because some of those things sit around for much longer then a day. Purchased some salad the other day and 2 days later they still had the same one out with the same small cut out piece.
Ever since my husband and I started doing Sunday meal prep, we've been coming here every single week to get our food. There's such a huge selection of everything, meats, cheeses, yogurt. Great grocery store!
Great supermarket! It has a great variety of products. I even was able to find Indian mango pickle there, which I sooooo love and don't know where to get. The staff was always friendly, just check expiry day on all the packages and prices accuracy after you get cold cuts, take out food and cheese.
