Yummy dumplings indeed! I didn't expect this restaurant will be this yummy. It's beyond my expectations! You have to try all kinds of dumplings; boiled, steamed, and pan fried.
I would recommend order C08 fried clams with cumin and chilli oil. It was so good, so flavorful, not too spicy and not too salty.
Steamed juicy pork bun is juicy indeed. The soup inside was so good. Pam fried is crispy outside and tender in the inside. Boiled dumplings is so soft and so good. Nothing too salty at all so try adding a little bit of soy sauce, vinegar and chilli oil on your plate and dip dumplings in it.
Don't forget to order low sugar homemade soup milk with you food. Taste fresh and warm you up.
The owner is so friendly and take time to explain each dish with her limited English.
They also have frozen dumplings that you can take home for only $10 for 20 dumplings! Must try!
The place claims to be open till 9pm but we reached at 8: 40pm and were told that "it's closed". This was yelled by a lady across the room as we entered through the main entrance. People were sitting inside dining. The only reason we went to this place is because Dumpling House is closed on Tuesdays. Clearly they don't want to do business or maybe want diners of a certain type! Who knows? ! Update your timing to reflect accurately that you don't serve till 9pm.
Some of the best dumplings in the city! Super flavorful and so juicy you lose track how many you've eaten. The cucumber salad is a great dish to start with and is a perfect mix of sweet, tang and spice. The steamed buns are fluffy with a nice bounce back and jammed packed with filling. The restaurant itself is a nice quiet ma/pa type environment and the staff are very sweet.
I had a fantastic dining experience here. The food was incredibly tasty, and what made it even better was the variety of chicken dumpling options available. Among the three choices, we opted for Chicken-Cabbage-Mushroom dumplings, Chicken-Bamboo Shoots-Black Fungus Dumplings and also got Chicken-Cabbage-Mushroom pancakes, all of which were mouthwatering. While the service and ambiance were ok, it's the food that truly stands out, earning a solid 5/5 rating.
Owner lady is super friendly and nice. Food was so delicious. Will definitely be back often. Best of all, they don't add MSG. That is a big deal for my family. Be ready to dine in paper plates.
The order system depends on a single piece of paper and hoping it is not lost. We were told to sit in the back.
3 parties came in after us, were seated ahead of us, and their orders were fulfilled.
After an hour and having asked about our food, it was finally revealed that our order was lost. This is the worst restaurant experience in Toronto to have on a schedule.
The food was decent, the dumplings were good and the soup dumplings were pretty awesome (thin skin, lots of soup). However, the service was something to be desired. We ordered 7 dishes and got 6, when we argued to say we didn't get 6 dishes, the server who didn't speak a lot of English argued with us and charged us anyway for the dish we never got. Unfortunate.
Additionally, everything was served on small sized disposible plates! Wasteful and hard to use.
I actually came here after being disheartened that a cafe was full. I was stressed for studying but I was also hungry. And then I walked by here. It isn’t very intimidating or does it stand out, but it’s this little store down the stairs.
But hey- those usually turn out to be the best places. This was dead of winter mind you, and so I decided to get my favourite dumplings, xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), and another thing to warm up, simple, good egg drop soup- simplest of the soups, and yet the most heartwarming.
It was good is all I can say. Dumplings were one of the best in town, and it’s hard to get good soup dumplings.
The staff has a language barrier, but that’s okay it really didn’t change anything. In fact, made moments more endearing because we’d work harder to communicate with one another, but also was oddly easy to understand through their warmth.
You write your order on a paper, which I almost felt bad for using, being a solo eater, but it made things quick and efficient. They didn’t mind if I watched a video as I ate, it was chill and they weren’t in a rush to push people out the door.
I’ll be back here again for sure, thank you for having me:)
Food: 10/10 - personally, best dumplings in toronto service: 9.5/10 - great attentive waiters always on the watch for assistance variety: 10/10 - tons of authentic chinese foods to choose from cleaness: 8/10 - washrooms could use a bit of extra cleaning, however, nothing huge
This restaurant has a cozy and homey feeling as soon as you walk in. The staff here are super nice, and the food was 10/10. We had the cucumber salad which was super refreshing, sesame noodles, pan-fried pork and green onion dumplings, and the pork xiao long bao which was the star of the show. The broth in the soup dumplings was so rich and delicious. This place should definitely get more of a selection of them, as just the one option on the menu would bring us back again!
Unbeatable in NA! The BEST! Shandong dumplings are the best Chinese dumplings. I’m very grateful that I can have the authentic and tasty dumplings in Toronto.
IMO, probably best pan fried pork and shrimp dumplings; the Xiaolong pork dumplings were slightly above average. They only accepted cash when I visited the place for late lunch. Luckily, there is RBC bank ATM right around the corner.
Still learning to use chopsticks but that doesn’t stop me from eating dumplings everywhere I go! From Richmond to NYC to Toronto, yummys the best in the business!
My go-to place whenever I'm craving dumplings, everything is made fresh in front of you & the taste has never let me down. The dumplings are juicy and flavourful, highly recommend this place!
