The premade meals are so good and there is plenty of variety. Their pizzas don't taste like they come from a store. The staff are always friendly and polite. 10/10
First time at this location, and I was definitely disappointed. This location is extremely small and doesn't have as much selection as their one near nebo St. It's dark inside, and the girl at the cash register had a miserable look on her face the entire time. Her attitude was even worse than the look on her face. She seemed put out to be working there. After I purchased my items, she threw my receipt at me and didn't even say have a nice day or thank you for shopping here. She just stormed away in a huff. Our interaction consisted of me just saying hi, how's it going. I can honestly say I won't be going back to that location again.
Love their veggie lasagna. Staff are always friendly and we've also had some fantastic soups (huge frozen batches - make a full "pot" of soup to last for days) for under $7 or 8. They also have a vegan bean and sweet potato dish that is easily as good as Farm boy's chili - but only costs $2 (? ! L) It's enough for 2 people. Great food all around - but also some great deals!
The subs that I went for were great but I was expecting a bit more of fresh baked goods and more variety. I guess they focus on a lot of prepared foods. I was just looking to take a load of good food out to a friend on a boat
A small local grocery shop that always seems to have what we need. Friendly staff who go out of their way to assist. Often unadvertised deals inside too. Give them a visit!
Sorry Zarkys but doesn't compare to the location on the Hamilton Mountain. It does have some street parking and a deli and offers some hot food but overall a bit of this and that. Live the brand and products but very minimal of that at this store
The man who made my sub with the Blue Jays mask, handcrafted my sub with care comparable to Gordon Ramsey. If you want to get a sub made the proper way, get it from Zarky's.

I worked at the Dundurn location for almost a year. I loved the job. I excelled at it!
I had 3 issues.
#1- Food Quality. If we have a loaf of turkey (or any meat) in the deli counter that had been open for 6+ days, we slice the rest and vacuum seal it
#2- Food quality, AGAIN. Those vacuumed packed meats. I would find a few expired, and was told to revacuumm seal them for another 7 days, just to save waste.
#3- Bullying in the workplace. There is a couple who is working for zarkys, one works as a baker at homestead (the male) the female works at zarkys on dundurn.
I guess I can only speak to my own issues, but over a 7 month period I had 4 personal calls with the owner Tony, 1 personal call with his wife, Nancy.as well as bringing issues of bullying and abuse to the store manager.
THIS IS A TOXIC PLACE TO WORK if they refuse to get rid of toxic abuse. It doesn't matter whether you're firing an employees significant other.you want the best for your business don't you?
They have frozen foods galore but the cooking time printed on the product (quiches) for example are totally insufficient. It needs 40 to 45 minutes in 350 oven not 15 minutes.
I asked the man at the beer store counter where I could get something good to eat in the area. He directed me to Zarky's up the street. Said that's where he got a sub for lunch and it was amazing. I went and he was absolutely right! Fresh veg and quality cold cuts made for a classic submarine experience.

Dundurn needs a service call on their meat slicer. Staff says they'll "try" to slice thin, and it's either too thick or basically ground. For sure an issue with ownership or management. Can't blame the employees for sub par equipment
Zarky's is such a great spot. They have fresh baked bread, buns (ciabatta my faves), pizza, goodies, frozen meals, fresh produce, sauces.so many delicious and different items. I love it!
My kids love the pizza there and the Rainbow Bagels. We utilize their grocery store quite often after visiting Pura JiuJitsu. They have a nut free ice cream line there by Reid's Dairy! Highly recommended!
Wonderful customer service! The young blonde girl with glasses was delightful and helped me carry my bags to the door. I was most impressed with her customer service skills and will definitely be returning.
Most of the staff is not very friendly there is one lady who literally swears if you ask for a sub to be made why work in the deli department? Ask to work in a other area. I went in yesterday with my fiance a new girl was working she asked if we were twins. WTF?
They just added a great selection of produce to their already varied selection of deli meats, breads, desserts (some baked in-house) and meats and sauces, I truly recommend many to come visit this quaint but great Zarkys location
I often stop in for quick groceries after church. The pizza buns are very good. The pizza is good for a large party. There is better pizza for a special occasion but for a kid's birthday pary this is the place. There is a very good selection of frozen meals. The are very good and easy to prepare.
