In search of gold, I found diamond. This place is now my go to restaurant when I want desi food. From the starters to main course everything hit home. We tried the hot and sour soup an easy 4/5. Then came the main course: Lamb Karahi 4/5, Malai boti 4/5, Daal Chana 3.5/5, dum ka keema 5/5. But the star of the show was the meethi lassi (not in the picture) a solid 5/5, must have. Overall very good experience. The staff were very friendly too. Only thing that was a miss was the chai. Not the greatest chai I’ve had, but the food overly compensated for the chai. Did not try the desserts, but will be back next time to try it.
Just book in advance before going, specially on a weekend.

Our experience was really good! The food tasted great and fresh. The customer service made it even greater, our server, Balpreet was very accommodating and very patient. She was very cheerful and helpful, provided us with different options and was very clear about portion sizes. The beef short ribs were surprisingly soo good!
Beef bihari is a must as well.
We will definitely be going back for the food and service.

Good food and value, great variety and choice but quite rich in terms of spice mix (not hot necessarily but strong). While I enjoyed the quality generally, my tummy didn't appreciate it the next day. My friends, who accompanied me were fine though, so I'll chalk it to my own constitution.
I was very impressed with the garlic kukcha -the bread was fluffy and wonderful! Worth trying.

The first dish is chicken karahi, which was absolutely lovely, the chicken wasn't dry even though it was boneless, and it had the perfect balance of spices.

The second dish was Shai paneer and as a paneer lover, I'm obsessed with this dish. It was so good! Even though it looks spicy, it wasn't! It again had the perfect balance and was jam packed with flavor. The onions and red pepper really came through. ️

For dessert we got Gulab jamuns with vanilla Icecream! I feel like you can't really go wrong with Gulab jamuns which are fried dough balls covered in sweet syrup. These Gulab jamuns however, were truly incredible, so soft, fresh and not to mention hot! They kept them warm and when mixed with the vanilla Icecream it was a match made in heaven.

Something else I'd like to add was the naans! There's no picture but they were so good! They were incredibly fluffy, soft and easy to chew. They honestly seemed like artisan bread you would find in a bakery.

The foods were on point, especially the chicken lollipops. The servers were amazing. Also Tyler is such a sweet heart. He made sure we were at comfort at all times. When you're visiting this place, do make sure you're meeting Tyler. He works on Friday and Saturday. Not on Sunday tho. Ok bye

I’d visited Zauq in 2020 and been pleasantly surprised how tasty the food was.

I visited again this week and was delighted by the new decor! Honestly, I felt like I was in a downtown Toronto restaurant, not Mississauga. It is absolutely beautiful in there now. Plant walls are sooooo pretty. Our server shared that the resto owner’s wife did the interior design as a covid project, so kudos to her.

A second new experience with this week’s visit was our server, Tyler. He’s endearingly keen. He made great recos about what to order, paid attention to our needs and kept us amused. He had the biggest smile of anyone working there too, tbh.

Suggestion: please offer a tofu version of paneer dish, for us members of the ever growing vegan community. Extra firm tofu swaps easily in for paneer. I’m vegan and there weren’t a whole lot of options of me. I ate around the paneer though and the rest of the gravy from the paneer dish was A+.

I am not pakistani or indian but I honestly fell in love with the food. I love the way they serve the meat. It’s literally out of the grill.the food is hot, delicious and tender. I will be here more often

This is a hidden gem in Mississauga. The ambience is uniquely beautiful and the food is mesmerizing. Do not miss the keema paratha!

After reading the responses of the owner to other reviews. I'm just gonna say. You are exactly like the person who picked up the phone, you guys take zero responsibility! The person on the phone was even blaming the Uber driver, that he probably picked on the food. Get a grip! Never coming back!

Great food and service. Not sure why we were charged gratuity for cleaning dishes — isn’t that your literal job as a restaurant — especially since we had to self-serve our own dishes and water and pay at the front? Would have been 5/5 if not for that ridiculous experience.

Great atmosphere to be in. Their karahi was amazing as well as their biryani. Our server, Aman was very friendly and frequently checked up on us if we needed anything.

Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Not having a proper wedding reception was hard, but when restrictions lifted with limited people, we booked out zauq for our reception, and it was quiet frankly the best decision we made

Joel, the manager, sat with us and explained the whole process, took down our requirements and came through with flying Colors

The food, hands down, was fantastic, we had requested some alterations in taste with spice and salt levels which they followed down to the Tee
The servers were on top of things, eventhough they had mentioned that the small kitchen may cause a slight delay in food service

All the guest loved our mini wedding event and we would recommend it to anyone who is looking to host a crowd. Make sure to ask for Joel

Food is really good Alhamdulillah. The service is good. I came during the weekdays Im glad they have seating for 2 people now since they mentioned before they dont have table for 2. But hopefully now they do the same for the weekends

My first time coming here and the aesthetic of the place was wonderful and the staff were all amazing. Nawaz, the floor manager was very friendly and welcoming and made sure we got everything and kept checking up on us! Will definitely come again!

Great food, atmosphere, and service! Lots of options for vegetarians, tried several of their paneer dishes and they were very tasty. Their Chicken Biryani was also quite good.

The best part however was our server Tyler. If there was a school on how to serve, Tyler would be the founder and Dean. Tyler went above and beyond to ensure our table was taken care of. The world needs more servers like Tyler, I hope Tyler is recognized and rewarded for his efforts in making the dining experience at Zauq so memorable!

10/10 service! Tyler treated me and my friends so well and we will definitely be back. The food was really good too! The butter chicken especially slaps

Went there for the first time, everything was amazing.the customer service, food, the whole place was really clean. Nawaz helped us out a lot with picking food and constantly checking in on us. Iqra was extremely helpful bringing anything we needed to the table. Loved the experience will for sure come again!

I have to admit that even though I don't typically like to eat curries, biryani, karahis, etc - I was impressed by Zauq. It was more than I expected and really good.

I haven't been back in a while and would love to go back since I heard about their renovation. I remember that we tried both items from the Pakistani and Hakka menu. We tried one of the chicken karahis which was spiced well (I can't handle too spicy so it was good for me). I loved the naan. The hakka noodles were a hit. Everything we had was good. But more so, what would make me come back, if not the food, is the interiors.

It's a beautiful place to enjoy a nice dinner with loved ones. The ambiance makes up the place. Staff were nice.

Hoping to try more items soon.

Went to Zauq with a group of friends and the food was great. The staff was also very friendly and the prices were reasonable. We were served by Aman and she was super nice. And 10/10 for the restaurant vibe…it’s gorgeous!

It’s rare to find authentic halal. Alhamdulillah it’s one of the best restaurant in North-America. The soup and masala fries tastes real South Asian. Thanks food quantity is massive. Order for 2 and eat at least 3. The server named Taylor & Navu they are really awesome guys.

The wraps are a little spicy, wrapped in naan makes it heavy. Good size.
Overall the food is good and they did a good job spacing out the tables for indoor dining.

Amazing food! Amazing people! Balochi Kadahi highly recommended. Hakka chinese could be better. Visited here after a year and they have done their interiors very well. Nawaz gave us great service. We look forward to coming back again!

A couple of girlfriends and I ate at Zauq as it was recommended by our one friend who had eaten there previously.

As soon as I walked through the door, I knew this would be a memorable meal.

The decor in this place is truly magical. From the lush greenery to the wood themed walls, it was as if I had travelled to a place of paradise! Definitely many photo ops here

What I appreciated the most about the interior is that each table had it's own station where it contained everything that your party would need: cutlery/plates (very sophisticated looking), glasses, water, hand sanitizer, and napkins.

Now let's get to the bulk of the review - the food!

To start, we had the Lahori fish - it was so moist with just enough heat. It came with fries that had the right amount of crisp.

For our main we ordered the 3 Musketeers (3 vegetables curries). We decided to get the Channa Daal, Channa Mazedar, and Paneer Kurchan.
When our dishes came to the table, my eyes grew because they all looked so scrumptious! The chef also gave us some complimentary naan to accompany the food? ‍!
From my first bite I knew I would thoroughly enjoy the rest of my meal.
To end our dinner we decided to try their Kheer and the chef was so gracious again and gave that complimentary as well. I've never had this dessert before but I knew I'd love it because who can go wrong with rice pudding!? !

It's important to note that between the 3 of us, we were able to have 2 plates each AND bring some home as we couldn't finish it all there.
I brought some home and heated it up the next day and everything was still so delicious. The flavours had more time to meld together and the spice level was intensified!

What also made this experience so enjoyable was the staff. Our servers, Navu and Aman, and the hostess who cashed us out were all smiles (yes, I could tell through their masks!).

We will definitely be back, Zauq! Thanks so so much for having us!

While the new interior is great, especially if you're there for social media photos, and the service is professional and friendly. The food is good, but lacking. It feels almost like something was missing with each order. Whether it was a lack of choices in certain items on the menu, or the fact that the tea I ordered came in a disposable cup for a sit-down restaurant.

First time in the restaurant. Awesome food. Loved their special Balochi Tikka Karahi and the Nihari. Nawaz was very pleasant and service was quick. My wife loved the reshmi kobab and hot and sour soup. We will definitely recommend you guys to our friends and will be back for seconds.

The food was good and the guy tyler was really helpful in choosing the dishes as per our taste and he really made sure that we had a fantastic time and enjoy our meal.

The food is very good and authentic. Our waitress Amam was very friendly and attentive. They maintain good social distancing and follow the safety protocols promptly. Would definitely recommend.

Dined here yesterday for a wedding reception. The food and overall experience was exceptional! The decor is modern and aesthetically pleasing (great for Instagram posts). Photoshoots are a must with the greenery and rustic background and decor. Finally, the food was out of this world! Definitely recommend everything on the menu but especially enjoyed the lollipop chicken, ribs, GARLIC NAAN (sooooo good), mango Lassi, and mango fruit custard. The meats were cooked to perfection (very juicy). I would love the opportunity to come back again and enjoy more dishes. Special shout out to Nawaz and our servers for making the experience that much more special and welcoming.

First of all they don't pickup the calls.i was calling them since yesterday but no answer.
Yesterday i ordered breakfast from them & which is nihari, pori halwa & chicken cheese paratha.no complaint with pori halwa & cheese paratha but the nihari gravy taste like a burnt plus they have to give me 5 naan but they only gave me 3 naan i came all the way from oshawa just to pickup the food.so whenever you guys ordered food from them check your order before leave their restaurant.

Had the pleasure of eating here before Covid and enjoyed the absolute best butter chicken dish I have ever eaten. Unreal! Many butter chickens I have had are similar to lipton's tomato soup with chicken added, but this one was incredible! It had tons of flavour and the right amount of heat. Whenever I am in the area again, I will go out of my way to get this!

I had written a review previously about the amazing customer service my family and I received the last time I went and because of that, I booked Zauq to cater for my nikkah (wedding) day. I went with my parents to talk to the owner about their catering packages and they accommodated and helped us with everything. On the day of, we received very fresh, amazing, delicious food and made sure the guests knew that we had received it from Zauq and to trust their customer service. Each item was perfect, we had absolutely no complaints with the food, nor with the customer service. Thanks Zauq!

We stopped by Zuaq for brunch on route to Niagara falls. The astetics and the waiting staff were very pleasant and helpful. The seating area and layout was designed with family dining in mind which I appreciated. All the dishes met out expectations. I was slightly disappointed with their Hakka dishes. Overall I would recommend.

My wife and I went for a nice dinner at Zauq, we ordered their Beef Behari Kabab, Reshmi Chicken Kababs, Lolipop Chicken and naans (Garlic & sesame seed). The Naans and BBQ items were exceptionally good. The service was prompt and the place was very clean, modern and seemed recently renovated. The manager even came towards the end of our meal and asked if everything was to our liking. Would definitely visit again!

Food quality is great but the customer service doesn't cease to disappoint. They have a great, well priced menu and serving portions are very good. However, even simple orders take 30 mins or longer to reach the table.

Great ambiance and amazing food! Food is delicious, especially the BBQ (behari kebab, reshmi kebab and malai boti are the best) Service is great and staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Pakistani/Indian cuisine.

Great ambiance, uber clean washrooms (a rarity among south asian restaurants, sadly) and some excellent food. I was on a recent nihari binge - went around town every Tuesday and / or Thursday to eat at a restaurant that is well recommended for their Nihari. Zauq is the 2nd best after Lahore Tikka house from all the nihari's I've tasted to date (which is 16 restaurants in the last 2 months, only for eating nihari). The quantity is proper in my opinion, the gravy in the nihari was very flavorful and the meat was excellent too. Kababs are good, but I had to request for chutney / raitha twice before getting some, however, kababs were freshly made and took 15 odd minutes to be brought out, which is a plus. Overall, I definitely recommend this location of Zauq for any east dwelling Mississsauga ppl, particularly for it's Nihari.

Was there for dinner earlier today. I must say this has been one of my best experiences in a desi restaurant. I have never written a review ever before but being a shy person I find it easier to just write rather then going upto the owner and talk to him myself.firstly the food was amazing.khurchan name is weird but the taste is amazing.but besides amazing food I found a few other things worth mentioning.the reno they’ve done is so tastefully done.the tables look so classy, all the writing around the room, the floral work in the middle of the restaunt the choice of laminate colour, the plates, cutlery etc.everything is so tastefully done.it’s so different from other Pakistani restaurants. Lastly I’d like to mention how I found it so surprising to see the owner and his wife.the waiter pointed them to me. I can’t beleive they’re such a young couple. They boTh look so honest and humble people. I saw the wife walk out leaving the restaurant. I’ll be honest they inspired me. I always thought it’s my fathers age people who own restaurants etc. I didn’t know there were such young people in the industry. All in all I just want to thank the owners and their staff to provide us with such great experience. Like I mentioned, I’ve never had such an experience where I felt the need to say something about it. It was a pleasure. If I could I would ask all my friends and relatives to go to only Zauq from now on. My second time here. This time I was suuuuuupppperrrr happy. We have been getting food catered from them for a long time. Food has always been amazing, the upgraded restaurant is nice as well however the service was awful.

From the time we walked in till the time we left. It felt like the guy serving us did not like his job at all. He’s clearly in the wrong industry.

Let’s start off with what happened. We ordered our apps, took awhile to come by the time it came we needed more, while everyone was seated I asked the server if we could order drinks. He said “I’ll take drink order with the main course” I’m sorry? Who are you to decide when I want my drinks? But sure I dint make a fuss. Apps are done we ordered our main course. No mention of drinks still. So I asked if I could order my drinks, he said “I’ll take it once the food comes”. Now we are waiting, and waiting and waiting. Finally the food arrives, within 5-6 mins we are out of naans so we order more, all our guests stopped eating as they were waiting on naans.

Then my uncle had to get up and go talk to the server then finally the naans showed up. Even till this point I have NO DRINKS except water.

I asked again, he finally took our drink orders and got us our drinks.

Now once we were done eating, we waited a long time before someone went up to ask them to clear the table.as a server it’s your job to watch every table you are serving, fill up water or provide bottles. Ask your guests if they need anything else and make sure garbage is gone from the table in a timely manner.

Overall, food I have 0 complaints about, the atmosphere is very nice with a great modern touch. However the service could use some work, that was brutal.

We had a wonderful experience here at Zauq.
Its a very clean place and well decorated. The staff was polite and hospitable. Food was served in a timely manner and presented in a professional way. Our appetite went up when beef ribs and kababs were served in sizzling plate.

Fresh tandoori naans are 5 as well.
The server girl brought us the complimentary dessert made by the owner's wife in celebration of the opening of the restaurant after the renovation. Thanks mam, thats so kind of you and the decore is beautiful. May Allah bless your business Ameen.

Great food! We were looking for a place that makes great biryani and after a long time finally found it! We tried the Chicken and veal biryani, both were delicious. Everything we ordered tasted great including the chicken karahi and especially the kabobs! The staff were very courteous and attentive, the place looked modern and clean too. The only thing that was annoying was the parking lot, but other than I recommend this place!

Third class service. Please don't hire them for ur beautiful party. Simply waste ur money of u place catering order to them.

Catered for a dinner party from this restaurant. We chose the gold package and were told it had to be a minimum of 30 people so we ordered for 30 people even though the actual number was 25 and of those guests 3 were vegetarian.

Surprisingly, the seekh kebabs which should have been enough for 30 people, ran out. They had been chopped into 1 inch pieces so there was no way of knowing how much kebabs there were. But certainly not enough for even 22 people.

The other main item we ordered was chicken pulao. This was a huge amount of tasteless rice with scanty chicken pieces thrown in. Most of it was leftover and no one wanted take away boxes of it.

I had also ordered pakora Karhi. This somehow got substituted to a mixed veg tray by magic, and since I had also ordered palak aloo, we had no use for the extra vegetable dish. It was hardly touched.

The dessert was supposed to be kheer. And that had a funny presentation to it. Instead of being set in a tray with nuts or at least some kind of decoration on it, it was large amount of rice and milk paste thrown into a tray with no essence or flavour to it. Most of it landed in the trash bin.

Chicken qorma and veg chowmein were good, both in taste and quantity.

Overall a bad experience.

Great place on Eglington for Indian and Pakistani cuisine. The lunch specials are great value for money. The staff and service is great. They even made special lassi for us. Will be going back here many more times

Manager tried convincing me the tikka was supposed to be burnt on the outside in order to cook the inside.

Food is great but staff lacks restaurant management skills especially a good hospitality. Need to improve their services.

It's a little bit over price according to what they have and what other buffet restaurants are offering. Customer service is just okay nothing really special and the food taste is okay as well
