Zen Mixed Martial Arts

Great gym, great instructors. Always very friendly, accommodating, and a very clean space to train. One monthly fee for various martial arts classes allows you to diversify and really enjoy different styles. I highly recommend this place to all my friends looking for any martial arts instruction in Ottawa.

Zen Summer Camp is amazing! My kids had fun! And as a parent, I appreciated their updates and communications before, during and even after the camp. They are very well organized and sent us clear instructions.

Zen MMA has been a second home to me since I started Muay Thai in 2011, from not knowing anything to becoming one of their instructors. Not only does it offer great martial arts (BJJ, Karate, Muay Thai), but it also offers a great friendly environment that makes you feel happy and encouraged. It's been awesome seeing the progress this place had since I started!

I’ve trained at a few different gyms. This one was my favourite. I trained here over 10 years ago when they were on Merivale.

Registered my daughter for little Samurai and she loves going. Never an issue getting her ready to go.

My child loves the Little Samurai class! We enjoy the ability to choose a schedule that works for our personal lives. The staff and the senseis are absolutely wonderful.

I've been training here for around 2 weeks and it's been fantastic. David and the trainers like Ape are excellent. There are classes everyday that you can sign up for. The place is also new and clean. Highly recommended.

David, the owner, is a very charismatic and impressive leader and instructor. Zen MMA provides an experience surrounding fitness, defense, and competition. The best thing about Zen is the welcoming crew, and teachers that go above to ensure that you undergo the best training possible.

Great after school program! Our two daughters have gone for two years, and love it. The program is both active and nurturing, with amazing leadership, time for homework, plus daily martial arts classes built in! It is head and shoulders above other programs we have tried. They have even made care available on strike days.

My son is in the after school and Little Samurai programs. I love that the martial arts classes are offered during the after school program. From the beginning, they have been very responsive with any questions I had with the programs. I really appreciate the care and especially the friendly and helpful communication they provide to us! I've never had any problems with Zen, including unexpected late pickup. Other places start the timer on the "Late-pickup clock" immediately and will punish you. The room for the after care program is quite small, but they go to the library next door, Bubble Sea and parks for activities, so it's fine. Since the school strikes have begun, the full day activities have been a lot of fun for my son! Since participating in both programs, my son has shown more self-confidence and he really enjoys being at Zen. The class instructors also demonstrate great care and patience towards the little samurais.
