The team at the AVC provided our 17 year old senior boys with unbelievable care. Both of them had serious health issues. In particular, our little boy Rudy had very complex problems that started when he was 7 and we have been amazed at the level of attentive, competent and loving medical care the AVC team provided. When it was time for our fur babies to rest forever and be free from pain, we were treated with the most amazing respect and care during a very difficult time. We can't say enough about the AVC

AVC Is the best place to go on the east coast for veterinarian care for large and small animals. They have all different kinds of diagnostic equipment at their fingertips and many more options because they are a teaching hospital. The east coast is beyond fortunate to have such an amazing facility

We had a great appointment via video conference. Very informative, great feedback from the professionals. We are encouraged that the new protocols that are recommended will help our sweet pup.

My sweet puppy had already passed away before we got to the AVC but they showed compassion and respect for us and our wee Lassie. We took her home to bury her in our garden where she loved to play.

I have more trust with the team here then anywhere I've ever been. So professional, caring and kind. They took what was a nightmare situation and gave us a second chance at life. What more could anyone ask for. Thank you AVC.

I called the AVC for a nail emergency, we were in the middle of nowhere camping and our dog broke his nail pretty badly. We weren’t sure if we could use a certain product and if we should wrap it. The person who helped me over the phone was so kind and really helpful. We got our pup all fixed up without having to leave camp and we all enjoyed the rest of our trip. Thank you!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The Veterinarian was amazing and kind when we had to put our furry family member down. It was such a difficult day and everyone there made the experience a bit less painful.

I have been to this vet twic in the last 2 weeks. 1st for my cat and then my tempermental dog.
During our 1st visit, I had to bring my son with me. Staff stopped to say hi and play.
They helped me to the car with the cat and baby. I was shocked and incredibly thankful.
The technicians were attentive and kind, and the vets were incredibly professional. I could not have had a better experience.

They are thorough and helpful but can cost a little more than a regular vet and sometimes you have to wait.

Our little girl had spinal and upper airway surgery! They were fantastic with her care and updating us with her progress.

Excellent facility for a wide range of specialties, as well as an amazing emergency department. The vets & students have always taken great care of our dogs, and I am happy we have this expansive option for care.

Took my cat wiggles in cause he wasn't feeling good. All they wanted was money. They threatened the pei humane society on me and they every half hour wanted me to put my wiggles down and they even got the UPEI security guard to come make sure my parents and I would be leaving. They didn't want to give me back my wiggles blanket toy and kennel. WE DID NOTHING WRONG AT ALL! They had put so much STRESS on me that I almost landed in the hospital and they tried BLAMING my wiggles death on me. They didn't show any hearts.they made me feel like I was nothing! The amount of stress that they put on me I was having really really really really bad chest pains. I am NOT IMPRESS with they at all. My cat wiggles passed away on Sunday September 18/2022. When my cat wiggles passed away they wanted me to leave him there and I refused to leave my wiggles there after the treatment they gave me. They didn't even say sorry for yr loss cause they really don't know how to show their hearts for when someone is losing their fur baby.

Going to the vet for an emergency is never easy and you are sure to go through all states of mind.
What's important to remember is that visiting a vet emergency means that you never know what will happen. This is the nature of the department.
There is a triage system to look after the sickest / most acute pets first. Some days they might be super busy and some others might be a little quieter. Bottom line, the vets, the techs, the admins, they are all here to try their best and look after your pet.
We were there over the weekend for Yogi our cat, who vomited many times over the past 24 hours, wouldn't eat or drink and was lethargic. We were seen quite quickly (within about 2 hours). The vet we saw, Dr Vernick, was amazing. She took the time to assess Yogi and made some recommendations. We were given options. She answered all our questions.
We had to go back 8 hours later to repeat a x-ray. We had to wait again for a few hours. It was much busier. There were some pets that clearly needed prompt help over Yogi, which is once again the nature of how an emergency department works.
We saw again Dr Vernick. And gave us options on what to do next.
Over the course of 48 hours, we went through been worried, mad, anxious, happy, sad, etc. But during all that, I knew that they were doing their best to help Yogi, and the other pets.
I would definitely recommend seeing them for an emergency. But I hope not to see them again too soon:)
Thanks to the all AVC team

The vets and staff here are wonderful, they took great care of our lab while she was there for her knee surgery. They took the time to answer all our questions and called with updates to let us know how she was doing after surgery.
