Bottle Houses- Maisons de Bouteilles

It was suggested that my family and I stop along our travels to this house made of bottles and the gardens, so glad we did. To experience the workmanship, the detail, the art, I suggest to stop and see for yourself the beauty of it all.

I didn't know what to expect but it was really interesting to see what was done with so many bottles! I was amazed! The gardens were still in bloom with many, many flowers!

Very interesting place to visit if you are in PEI. The 3 houses were built by Édouard T. Arsenault around 1980.
Having seen a postcard of a tourist attraction consisting of buildings made of bottles on Vancouver Island, he decided to build the first house of bottles himself.
After spending a long winter cleaning and
sorting bottles, he was glad to see the spring of 1980 arrive; construction began a mere challenge and hobby yet. As his work progressed, people kept visiting him, admiring the results and encouraging him to pursue his dreams to reality.

The houses are absolutely beautiful. My father and I enjoyed our stroll through the garden. Lovely place! The gift shop had all kinds of great local artisan crafts. We left with some jam and a piece of wall art. We will return!

A fun, weird stop with 3 crazy bottle buildings and very pretty small gardens. It can get crowded (a tour bus pulled up just as we began our self-guided tour), but it moves along quickly if you are willing to linger and let the traffic pass.

Very interesting bottle houses, beautiful gardens and well cared for attraction.
