Brits Fish & Chips

My sister and I were in town for the Victorian Christmas festival and went for fish 'n' chips. Delicious, crispy fish with VERY generous portions. Had a great meal!

I had the seafood crowder and cheese cake both were very good. The chowder comes with garlic toast and it's only a small half a peice of toast and I think they should give a full price if possible overall very good.

Great little place. Food is great and the waiter was friendly. Loved the fries and scallops. My husband liked his burger and fries also. Totally recommended place.

Fried fish is so crisp and juicy! One of the best fish and chips. Fried scallops were great as well, and good complements the wide variety of beer on tap. Comfortable clean restaurant.

Fish was great as I expected. Thick-cut chips were so so as they were limp and soggy. Mushy peas were, well just mushy peas

The huge portions are only outdone by the fantastic fish and giant onion rings. The family menu is a great deal. We had to take some home. Good tartar sauce and all the fixings. Fun family fare for all. Update: Can't say that I love their new decor (see photos). I do prefer the old wooden and dark feel of a traditional pub but their food and service haven't changed and I'm sure other people will prefer the new more open style.

Best Fish & Chips I've ever had. Husband is celiac and he got the gluten free fish & chips without any issues or cross contamination. Service was excellent. We're definitely coming back.

Stumbled upon this quaint little spot during a very difficult time. The food is amazing, the staff are friendly, and absolutely love the old fashion feel of what an English restaurant or pub in the UK would be like.

Last evening my friend visiting from Ontario and I decided to go out to a seafood restaurant in Charlottetown so we decided to try Brits. What a mistake! It's November admittedly not lobster season. I ordered the lobster poutine and sent it back. The lobster smelled like old fish and tasted that way too. The "cheese" curd tasted like coconut milk it was terrible. My friends favorite fish is Cod so he ordered it but didn't believe it was really Cod. The French fries were soggy. Our Ceasar salad was bland we had to request more garlic and lemon to make it edible. The wine was ok. Just don't go there if U r looking for authentic Island fish restaurant

Wonderful dinner experience. Loved the lightly battered fish. Tried both the cod and haddock. Both were good, but if I had to choose it would be the cod. And hats off to Mark who served and informed and was a great guy. Will definitely be returning here again.

Very good F&C's. We got the thick style chips.so good. Cod fish had a good ratio of batter. Coleslaw was also good. Unique British themed decor.

This is officially the best fish & chips I’ve ever had! Great customer service, too, the staff was friendly and kind.

Restaurant smelt like mildew and was dark. Walls were filthy and menus looked like they hadn't been wiped in days. Did not stay to eat

Not only are you greeted and helped by friendly staff but the food is amazing. Crisp, light batter. Delicious fries. This should be your go to in Charlottetown

The piece of halibut that I got was amazing. Been a long time since I've seen a piece of fish this thick and meaty. Fries were good but the cole slaw did not add to the meal. Service was fantastic.

C'est la première de ma vie que je mange un chowder si mauvais. J'ai pris trois ou quatre bouchées et le goût qui se dégageait était tout simplement dégueulasse. On se demande si la sauce n'était pas périmée J'en ai fait mention à notre serveur lorsqu'il est venu s'enquérir si tout allait bien et il m'a dit que la facture allait le refléter. Ce ne fut pas le c'était un autre serveur qui ns a présenté la facture. Je lis tous les commentaires et je trouve chanceux lesclients qui ont apprécié cet endroit

A good combination of filling and delicious. Definitely try the onion rings, they're massive and so tasty.

Best fish and chips in town. Big portions of food. On the down side big bill at the end 2 people without alcohol drinks say goodbye to 60 dollars. Saff was great though

My selfie does not have all the happy people that enjoy this restaurant. We were a group of ten that walked in off the street. You handle our group amazingly and didn’t wait long for our food. Service was good and food was good. I find most restaurants can’t handle a large group of people that don’t call ahead and you handle our group with grace. Will be back there again!

Best fish n chips I've ever had. Generous portion of perfectly cooked fish. PEI french fries very crispy and tasty.

Maybe it was a nice place someday, but now it’s bad. Like really bad. Smells bad, feels uncomfortable and we didn’t like the experience. We tried PEI Burger Love with fries, didn’t finish both. Waste of time and money. Surprised to see so many good reviews

It is a legit place. Not so busy but serving was pretty slow and took almost an hour to have cod and haddock fish and chips.
Staff were very kind and tried to serve as soon as possible.
Cod is better than Haddock to me.
Fish chowder is incredibly good, not so creamy and I loved it except the pieces of cracker (tasted rather dry and not new one). My boy loved cheese sticks and wondered if they made them by themselves or got from markets. Just curious

Wasn't impressed with their fish and chips.greasy and the fries where cool. Don't bother with the onion rings.very bland with no favor. The service was very good.

We were here in the beginnings with Paul Lawson. This was a good meal! We sent a photo of our meal, and Paul was impressed!

Top-notch service, excellent food and reasonable prices. Delicious gluten-free options. Only criticism is that the decor could be updated. It feels a little tired. I would go here again.

Absolutely 5+ stars! I am a big fun of onion rings and I had the best onion rings ever at Brits Fish and Chips (only learned about it’s a British style restaurant from other reviews). The portions are huge and the batter is just perfect. My wife had pan fried choice of fish and a large salad so it’s still good for someone who wants to cut calories. I wish I lived in Charlottetown so I could go there on a regular basis! Highly recommended for who will have a visit to PEI. Nothing could be better than enjoying a good meal while traveling!

Not only were the gluten-free fish, chips & onion rings amazing, they were even better than I expected! Fantastic food and excellent service. I simply love this place.

I'm not much of a fish and chips guy but this place makes a mean platter. Also drinks are super cheap so it's a great spot to pre drink with the boys before hitting the bars

Amazing service from our waiter.and I mean amazing! This was our second time there.and had the same server both times. Very kind and very knowledgeable. I am Celiac.my boyfriend had this years Burger Love and Mexican burger the first trip. By far one of the best he's had. Really wonderful experience and the food was certainly top notch! Thank you!

Excellent gluten free options and we are always treated like regulars. Eventually we just became regulars. Delicious maritime options rotate on the menu as they become seasonally available. Large portions will leave you well fed. Don't pass on Brits.

Old building has an interesting atmosphere and homely charm. We enjoyed weekday specials of fries with the works (on beefy fries), and 1 pc.fish & chips (with just enough batter that didn't hide the fresh, tasty haddock). Ample sized portions were good value. Refills of coffee and tea would be appreciated in future.

5 star for a fish and chip restaurant, with lots of other choices too. Decent prices too. Everyone in my group loved their food.

Looks and feels like a classic English style pub. Warm and friendly. Our waiter was helpful and full of energy. The fish was delicious, crispy, battered and deep fried. I must say I really liked their homemade tartar sauce. Definitely going back, but next time I'll only get one piece of fish. 2 plus fries was way too much.

Good service, good food. I had the seafood chowder and the halibut filet - very tasty. Very cool British-themed decor and dishes. Would recommend.

Had the signature haddock fish and chips, and lobster chowder. This is the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Batter was perfect and I could have it by itself. The chips wasn't really impressive but it did it's job to complement the fish. Lobster chowder wasn't anything impressive but they are really generous with the lobster.

I ate at Brits twice during my visit to PEI because I was excited about the number of Gluten Free options. Having Celiacs means I hadn't had a fish fry in forever! The man who took care of us was very nice and personable.

I really enjoy the fish here. I appreciate the option of panko as well. The service is always great. Friendly staff. Cozy place.

Food was good, but they were out of mushy peas and they were still not ready when we went back the next day. Only in town for a couple of days. Ended up somewhere else for my mushy peas

Oily batter, very thin portions of fish, lifeless fries. Not even close to a British fish and chip restaurant. And definitely over priced.

Chips were nice (1star) but frozen fish! Yes frozen. The lady said it's frozen at sea! I wanted local fresh fish soooo disappointed drove from brum for frozen fish, absolute shambles.would not recommend

Too expensive. There's a place across the street with gluten-free fish & chips for quite a bit cheaper. Nice decor and feel.
