Rustic bakery and cafe by the river. Well prepared comfort food. Corn chowder was on point. Lobster omelette also good.

Gross gross gross. Time to move on from the food business, after being closed several times for food safety violations. Avoid at all costs or you may get sick.

We ate at this bakery and enjoyed our meals. The take out bakery goods were fresh and delicious. Especially the cookies. For lunch we had the fish and chips. One large piece of fish with good french fries. It would be better to have homemade fries. After all PEI is the island of potatoes.
We were lucky to have a table on the outside. The view was beautiful. Our waitress was efficient and always smiling.
If we are in this area again we will definitely drop in.

This place intrigued us.the setting, in particular, and the word "bakery"! We did not stop to eat into cafe but did purchase fresh pastries.cinnamon rolls, haystack cookies and fritter. Very tasty.

Such a hidden gem with a beautiful view if you eat on the deck or porch. Great price, dinner food delicious - and get the raisin toast. Friendly service one is used to on the Island.

Stumbled on this place looking for a coffee but grabbed breakfast. Friendly quick service, good prices, decent food. Nothing fancy, just a little old diner. Would visit again.

After reading the recent negative reviews, we looked at the kitchen - very clean - and bathrooms - also clean.
Negative reviews don't mention if they actually have ever eaten there and a couple from people who have only posted ONE or two reviews or mostly negative reviews. All coming recently. Sounds like a coordinated attack. The owner is a lovely little lady but a visible minority.

Ignore the positive reviews on here folks. This food establishment has been forced to shut down over and over again over food safety and health concerns. This is obviously a sign that the owners have no idea how to operate a restaurant. Stay away if you value your health and support restaurants who care and follow proper food handling protocols.

Loved this place! Staff were super nice. Food was delicious and prices were great! We saw an eagle diving for breakfast while we had our own breakfast! The decor is very quaint with island folk art. Baked good on site- what a bonus!

A small, cute, and homely atmosphere with a lovely view of the river bend. The food is inexpensive and well made. My wife and I came here for breakfast twice. The breakfast menu was well laid out and service was quick! The location is very close to Marco Polo Land Campground making it a convenient and uncostly place to start your day with your family.

Sooo delicious! Everything our family of 6 ordered was amazing! Our favourite was the bacon pancakes and the breakfast sandwich! The homemade buns and treats make this local restaurant worth visiting!

Caesar salad was untossed with globs of salad dressing. It had zero croutons, several specs of simulated bacon, and marble shredded cheese. I threw it out without taking a bite.

I was told the new ownership had ruined the bakery and this salad confirmed that for me.

Excellent accueil, portions plus que convenables, poisson hyper frais et croustillant, frites maison délicieuses. A noter une agréable petite attention de la patronne car nous étions les derniers clients du service de midi. Cadre rustique mais chaleur humaine!

Good place for lunch if you are passing by. The lettuce in our coleslaw and sandwich was wilted. The baked goods are fresh.

Food was good, had a really tasty club with a real chicken breast. 5 stars for the extra effort and good service. The owner really tried hard and overall, she delivered. Thanks for the good meal.

Excellent place, clean and cozy. They have an indoor an outdoor seating area. The server was friendly and the food was good. We had the breakfast special, grilled cheese sandwich and chocolate chip pancakes. The pancakes were big and delicious. Prices are reasonable and equivalent to a fast food joint but with more food.

I would have used to rate By the River Bakery a full 5 stars but when I was there 2 days ago I was very disappointed. The cookies had no flavor, most things seemed to go down in size and nothing seemed fresh. Honestly, I think the bakers have lost their confidence since the whole thing about the rats and stuff when the health inspectors came in. But I know that the bakers can do better. I will continue to give them another chance.

New owners and they know their customers. Good food and good prices. Nothings changed but the owners.great bakery goods.
