Unworthy to be called a national Canada Park. Even after devastating natural events in 2022, the parks is desperately lacking maintenance and care in all departments. Wabasso park in BC has also suffered from natural events but unlike Cavendish, it overcame the challenge.

Always magical.the washrooms were a bit less kept but not horrible. I suspect staffing issues may have been the problem. Evening swim while watching the sunset was incredible and watching my grandkids enjoy this place as much as I do was everything!

Beautiful campground, highly recommend. Very clean washrooms and showers. The beach is stunning and the sunset and sunrise breathtaking. The waves crashing on the shore was so relaxing. The water was warm and there were people swimming. We did not want to leave this place. Would definitely stay here again

What a great campground.very affordable, clean laundry and bathroom facilities and friendly, helpful staff. We surely do hope to return.

Camping très bien. Toilettes super propres.
27 September 2022 10:24
Just amazing. Section D10 D11 D12 will give you the best view, ocean view on the site. Showers and toillette near by. Wonderful sunrise view in August and September from the site.

This campground was also very nice and clean. The best thing about this was that it was right in front of Cavendish Beach. Best place to see sunrise and sunset both. We had enjoyed the beautiful sunset here, photo is also attached. We would visit this place again. Washroom and shower facilities were available.

Best camping ever. Got to book in advance since is high on demand but the beach and everything is worth the time!
19 August 2022 16:59
Excellent campground with very good amenities. Cavendish Beach is beautiful. There's a nice 6 km cycling trail in forest and by farm land.
18 August 2022 14:10

Staff were very helpful with finding your spot.
I arrived late and was allowed to pay in the morning.

Great campground with all the necessary accomodations for the tent campers we were. The beach is stunning. We had to leave early because of the coming storm (early Sept 2021) but would go back anytime. Great memories.

A really nice camping ground! The campground my boyfriend and I had was near the beach, and hearing the sound of the waves every morning was fantastic!

The bathroom and the laundry are immaculate, and we were amazed about it!

The reason I took a star off is because the campgrounds are too close to each other, and you have NO PRIVACY! No tree between campground, no nothing!

One of our favourite places on our East Coast trip. We planned to stay for one night, and ended up staying for 3. Very nice campground with well maintained facilities. Just a short walk to a gorgeous sandy beach. Walk the beach with the ocean on one side and sand dunes on the other. Go down to the beach at sunset for a great evening.

We were pleased with the campground. After reading the Parks Canada information we didn’t know if our slide out would fit in our site, but since Hurricane Dorian there are few trees to interfere with slide outs.
Just a short walk to the beach, bathrooms, and laundry. Helpful park Canada staff.

This is a rather so so campground on an island that otherwise has such spectacular scenery. It's fairly priced and clean but the beach is kind of boring.
17 October 2021 9:45

Amazing facilities with great views
Got the tent space very close to beach during the busy fest time
Minimal charge and phenomenal experience

The views by the water are fantastic. Great comfort stations and services. One of the best campgrounds I've been too so far.
10 October 2019 9:01
Beautiful park. Cavendish beach has white sand and is very big. There are lifeguards watching over the roped-in area. The campers beach area is just as nice and was a quick walk from our campsite. The sites were clean and well maintained and ours (in section A) was fairly private. The unserviced sites very close to the beach are not and are wide open to each other, so keep that in mind when booking. The park is very close to the Anne of Green Gables attraction. Was great for the family!

Stayed here the other day with some friends for the Cavendish beach music festival. They have buses that take you from the campground to the festival. It is common knowledge there is going to be alcohol consumed during arguably the biggest music festival in Canada for its time. Same thing as some other, quietly having a beer in a cup sitting around the picnic table and being harassed constantly by the rangers. No raport building what so ever with these jokes, fined the people next to us and dumped out 20 beer amongst other alcohol and fined them numerous times. Could not even go to the bathroom without them harassing us. An older gentleman was having a beer with his family during a BBQ and they went and dumped out his. A couple of my friends and I had to walk back to the front office to grab some things out of the vehicle since we parked down there to take the bus, they stopped us up and blamed us for going to get more beer, then the younger officer talked to us like we were 3 years old telling us it was time to go to sleep. Buddy. I have 3 kids, waited all year for this getaway and the last thing that some punk who is probably younger than me is going to do is tell me to go to sleep. We found out later while we were gone that they had gone to our campsite and were shining flashlights inside of the tents our girlfriends were sleeping in. We filed a formal complaint and are still waiting to hear. The next morning we had gone out for breakfast and coffee and came back to the site, after being back for an hour they came and kicked us out. We had nowhere to stay and had to park in the field by the music festival. We had spoken to the site staff and 6 different RCMP officers who were on patrol and we advised we were going to have to sleep in the vehicle and they had no issues with that other than not to drive out of there. We were tailgating as that is a normal thing to do at these events and they just said keep the booze in cups and they laughed and joked with us everytime they came by, we mentioned the park rangers and they agreed that they were beyond ridiculous.

Nice but busy (it's National Park!). This is the busiest campground on PEI. We had a nice quiet spot at the back (A11) for 8 nights. We had originally booked 14 but decided to stay elsewhere as well. Our site wasn't like the pictures, as there are less trees now for some reason. But it was quiet and further back then most of the ones beside it. Next time I would book in the core (middle) area in where there are more trees and for the most part a bit more privacy. If privacy is not your thing, book one of the spots close to the beach. The beach is very beautiful and also busy. Brackley Beach is a little less busy (or any other beach on the island for that matter).

15 September 2019 11:50
Our first and now preferred camping spot in PEI. Amazing campsites to choose from all walking distance from the incredible beach. Washrooms/showers availble all over the campground that make you question if your at a campsite! Friendly courteous staff members that are there to help all around the camp ground. If you don't make a stop over at this place while your traveling through PEI, why even bother going?

This is a great park. There are a variety of sites and a great beachfront. We had a three way, pull through site, A97. This was a sufficiently roomy site with room for the slide (I recall some warnings regarding some sites being narrow). This site was close to a washroom and the laundromat. The washers were $2 per load and the dryers were $2 to start (but that was sufficient). There were about 6 washers and dryers. They had a pavilion where people could have group meals, it was close to the tent section and I imagine the tent campers use that area mostly.

The campground was close to a lot of amenities including entertainment, shopping, Anne of Green Gables, golf and North Rustico.

Beau camping bien aménagé et bien entretenu, la plage située juste à côté est superbe, l'eau était à 21 degrés hier
09 September 2019 17:59
For sites so close together, you did feel some privscy because of trees and other natural vegetation. They told me the site was one of the natrow ones and it was a challenge to get our 31 ft.motor home in it.
02 September 2019 19:49
Great place but a few things need correction: bathrooms could be cleaner, poison ivy could be chooped down and those mosquitos.
02 September 2019 19:48
Great campground right on the water. Lots of good facilities and most sites are fully serviced. Beach has a lifeguard and is beautiful. Sites are private as well. We loved this place.
02 September 2019 7:10
0 stars because this campground is a joke.
I went camping there and when we got there I was told I had to pay $40 just to get a bracelet and another bunch of money for a thing to put in my car window, and I was not told about this until I got there, not to mention that these prices were not included in the site fee or mentioned anywhere! The staff at the front desk were not very welcoming, and the forest officers were extremely rude. They would drive around the campground and look for someone to bark at. They gave the neighbours fines for drinking and made them spill out their liquor, which was completely over dramatic because they were just quietly drinking by a fire. I felt like I had to be inside my tent just to get privacy from their constant driving around. The campsite I was at was not even mowed and had no shade. There was a bunch of gross weeds growing all around and I could barely get to my electric and water because of the weeds. And don’t even think about bringing your dog, they would be on you so hard about that, you can’t even bring your dog on the beach which is just outrageous. Staying at this place was a complete waste of money and time. Really disappointed with my stay.

We love staying at campgrounds run by Parks Canada. The facilities are some of the best around. All bathrooms were very clean and the showers had hot water and benches to keep your clothes dry. Power outlets in bathrooms were useful. We bought a seasonal park pass and were surprised by how inexpensive it is to camp with a tent before peak season. For a campsite and a bag of wood (which you get to fill as much as you want one time) we paid $28. The workers at the information center were very friendly and helpful. They gave us tips and said if we found our site to be too windy they would switch our site easily. They also gave us advice for restaurants with good seafood in the area. The view overlooking the ocean was incredible. We will be staying here again.
23 August 2019 11:56
This was our first trip to PEI and this campground was fantastic. We brought our pop-up camper and had a site with full hook-ups. The bathrooms were clean and close, there was a playground for the boys and easy access to a great private beach area!
17 August 2019 13:24
23 July 2019 5:50
Nice RV sites, full hook-ups, with trees! Very different than most RV campgrounds. Exceptionally clean, modern comfort stations and laundry facilities. Beautiful beaches and coastal dunes.
18 July 2019 1:35
This is my favourite national park campground. They run off season rates about 5$ less than the other national parks we went to and the view is great with sites right by the ocean and beach. Plenty of showers and clean bathrooms.
You will never get a better beach camping location for the price then you will here with a parks season pass and a campsite in June.
18 December 2018 10:51
As you would expect from a national park. It is clean and well maintained. The added cost of park admission is a bit of an annoyence but that is true for any campground within a national park.
21 November 2018 3:15
Prince Edward Island Cavendish area National park beautiful sand duned beaches on the Gulf of St Lawrence side of the Island. The campground has some 50A sites but only 30A with full hookup for larger RV'S. The campsites are large with trees providing privacy. Reservations are available online with empty spots easier to find after labour day. The campground has direct access to the beaches for great sunset walks. The homestead bicycle or walking trail is a fun route through the shoreline wetlands bays and farmland. The paved two lane trail all the way to the Nort Rustico beach is a scenic delight with lits of pull off areas like Orby point.

18 August 2018 16:10
We stayed in a18 which was electric & water, no sewer. Excellent site for privacy, and we watched a pair of bald eagles fly around each evening! Beautiful campground best enjoyed not in July or August!
28 July 2018 22:01
Its pretty wet, but thats a weather thing, friendily staff, but a liquor ban puts a damper on things, also they charge you extra fees for everything multiple different bracelets you need at 30-40 dollars a pop per person that are non replaceable if accidently broken. Definitely an example of the government being greedy again. Sites could be better maintained. Over all it serves its purpose of a place too sleep.
28 July 2018 21:04
Very nice campground without all those campy kids attractions that usually attracts the rowdy crowd. If you go for unserviced spots, i recommend the forested sights as they have some shade, less wind, and are a little more private. The bathroom block is cleaned daily. Dogs are allowed anywhere but on the beach, which is the only downside to the place. You need to factor in the park access cost to the camping fee. It was 20$ per person for a seven day park pass which gives you access to the 2 other federal parks on the island.
28 July 2018 12:01
Car camping is great, basically created a pillowtop mattress in the tent, bathrooms are super clean and modern, and park staff aren't too up in your wilderness business. The fire pits aren't great (almost like deep steel barrels) so I wouldn't bank on cooking on the open fire. I suppose they don't want to burn down a national park so the has to be well contained. We camped right along the beach.pretty neat stuff this here Canadian wilderness!
