When we asked the server if the lobster was fresh, she said "no, it's frozen" we probably should have not ordered it but we were so hungry, we had the lobster roll and felt sick afterwards. I would suggest ordering something else on the menu.

We had an early Thanksgiving dinner here on Sunday. The turkey special was well prepared and included a dessert. We had quick service and the atmosphere was relaxed. A surprisingly good meal.

If you like a small town cozy kinda restaurant this is the spot. Had the fish and chips (not great) but also tried a cheese burger (not too bad). But how fast the food came out was crazy. Lots of customers but it's an older crowd.

We loved our night here. The owner came out to talk with us and was super friendly and helpful. The food is very good quality and well priced. This is a nice family night out spot for good food at good prices. I will be back and I recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Summerside. Great fish and chips. My wife had the Chicken Cordon Bleu with the works with house red wine. Everything was delicious.

I asked if the fish is all battered and the waitress went off on her speel. "Our special today is battered fish with", so I said "no thank you, nevermind", because I have celiac disease and can't eat flour (gluten), but she said sternly "Let me finish telling you about the fish and chips. I tried to tell herI wanted the fried fish filet instead and my husband's choice as he went to the bathroom. He came back from the bathroom and she is still going on, as I listen carefully. My husband asked if I ordered yet and I said "she won't let me until she finishes going on about all this stuff we don't want. " If that wasn't bad enough as I was giving her my order, she discovered I can't have gluten and went thru the WHOLE menu pointing out the Gluten Free choices. We haven't been back to ever face that onslaught of her going on and on, of if she is still there. Iàq laugh now, but she made me feel so uncomfortable. Food is good so we still order online. I won't go in there again.

Went for lunch the special was steak tips in a sauce with mushrooms, onions, peppers and tomatoes. We both ordered the special and were very disappointed. What we got was steak strips in beef gravy with the onions and peppers and mushrooms. Very disappointed and not very tasty.

Loved the French fries as they were hot and crispy. Then I saw others baked potatoes and will definitely be trying them next time. This is liver and onions.

Amazing food, liver and onions is my favourite and a good test of the kitchen. Third time here and it is has been excellent everytime. The burger was amazing!

Delicious food but extremely slow! Took about 40 minutes for food to arrive once order was taken. No offers to refill water or coffee. No explanation on why it was taking so long. Very pleasant staff and delicious food but unexcusable long wait

2.5 stars qctually. Mediocre food, the kind you can make at home if you don't feel like cooking anything special lol. Just an average meal, average taste, average service. We probably won't go back, as there better options in the area.

I had the scallops and the bread pudding both were amazing. Friendly staff, and a very cozy environment.

I've been to gentlemen Jim's maybe 5 or 6 times. First time I went I had a rib steak that was ok, so I went back for another. It was terrible, it must have been frozen because it had a big grey circle like steaks get in the microwave. It was not tasty at all. Next time I ordered fried chicken, it tasted like that fried chicken you get get frozen from the supermarket. I couldn't even eat one piece. Next up was the scallop burger, I have never in my life thrown away a scallop, one bite and I threw it away. Now I kind of like the owner but he's got to make a new plan, change up the sides a bit, shake up the menu, it's probably time to change the cooks in there. I hope something changes or the place doesn't have a future with all the new restaurants opening in summerside.

I have travelled to PEI several times, and each and every time Gentleman Jims has been my favourite place to eat! The chowder is Devine, and I love the tartar sauce. (2 things i hated before GJ). I recommend trying anything from the menu, and if there is something else you seek, just ask!

Recommended by our motel and they were correct. Our food was tasty and the small steak was a good despite the price. Strange name for a restaurant. Despite other reviews commenting on the staff, our waitress was pleasant and professional. Prices are less than Charlottown from what we saw.

A very nice scallop dinner and the steak is most yummy.reasonably priced and a warm atmosphere.

A nice clean location with some decent retro decor. The service was fast and friendly, the food was good and the portions generous.

The food was decent and Service was also but the prices are far too high especially when compared to other more high end restaurants in Summerside

Quiet and warm. Food was brought fast and hot. I miss the strawberry candies you would get long ago with the bill.

Best steak ive had at a restaurant in a long time my wife had the burger and said it was amazing. Staff was great with the kids

Great atmosphere and service. Food was overall good. Lobster Roll was not the best I have ever had as there was far too much tomato and red pepper which took away from the rich lobster taste.

Went in yesterday for a late lunch. Excellent service, food, prices. 2 of us had steak and scallop special. (1/2 price). Other 2 had club sandwich and hot hamburger. Everything was tasty and good price. We will be back.

Absolutely discussing food, and horrible service.
The food seemed to be reheated a day later.
Customer service was so poor, waitress was extremely rude. She did not bring us (table of 3) any of what we ordered, then argued with us and would not bring us the proper food.
Horrible horrible experience.

As an experienced cook id like to give my opinion.

I chose the triple decker. First thing noticed was the cheap compliments bread. Upon further inspection i noticed the mayonnaise was obviously old and even possibly expired also the chicken had too many chunks of fat. The French fries are currently the cheapest ones that i have experienced served on plate in summerside.

I am giving a one star rating because the unexpected cheap quality of food and because i located a hair in the sandwich i ordered. Unfortunately it happens to everyone sometimes but staff was quick to replace the meal and apologized. After it was time to wrap up the show we than received an unexpected 37.99 bill for two cheap sandwiches and fries.

I assume someone who owns that restaurant is not from PEI.

Just had fish and mash potatoes and gravy takeaway. It was delicious, the fish had a golden crispy batter with hot mash potatoes and gravy. Very tasty indeed. Thank you

The service was friendly, fast and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was hot, flavorful and delicious.

Roast Turkey Dinner - the only great parts about this meal was the soup, ice cold water, and the server. Instant mashed potatoes, come on guys this is PEI use real potatoes, the instant mashed potatoes were like kids play doh, fake gravy, stove top stuffing, a poorly put together meal for 15.99. Pretty sure they could of pulled of a better meal.

Been here twice in one week. Food is delicious. Had numerous dishes: chicken alfredo, mussels, salmon, clam chowder, casserole.all tasty. The sauces are really creamy, if you like that kind of stuff.

Service was great and the owner/manager was really friendly.

Prices are reasonable.

Highly suggest.

The fish was hard staff made us feel like we were bothering them. More focused on the bus of 55 that was coming in at 430 then the customers in the restaurant

Waitress was unfriendly. Took nearly an hour to our in out order, drinks took forever to get. After waiting even longer got told items weren't available and had to re-order. Then they brought the order and it didn't have some of the items - we were told that the cook "didn't want to make it"

Fries served hot, coffee strong, soup good. I'd go back for another meal. Excellent service, very friendly.

Reasonably priced food for the portions you receive! Good for people who just want a ‘home cooked’ style meal! Service was friendly. Probably wouldn’t recommend the slots side of the restaurant due to the bartender having extremely mature taste, as the ratio for my rum&coke was made 1: 1 in a rocks glass!
