Haru K-BBQ

My best friend from Toronto who is Korean (born in Seoul) came to PEI last summer for a visit and said let's have Korean BBQ for dinner. So we checked out Haru K-BBQ and were not disappointed.

Going back again this week

Food was great, nice service. A little bit pricey though. Also not many vegetarian options if that applies to you. Fried chicken was delicious.

Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Charlottetown. The food was amazing, I especially liked the fried chicken and tbeokbokki with cheese. Thank you guys for the great meal and hospitality! !

Fantastic food, and top tier service. Run by a family that all clearly love their craft, Haru K-BBQ is a multi-visit stop, with tons of delicious choices.

Had such an crazy wholesome interaction a few days ago with the cashier jung (if im not mistaking)! Dude made me feel great & welcomed and super chill.food was absolutely great too! Love it, (abit expensive for the portion) but it was just amazing. Cheers - Max

Have tried their dolsot bibimbap many times (must have), jeyuk BBQ fries (so good!), japchae, korean army soup, and the fried chicken - everything is delicious. They also have some very nice fruit drinks if you're looking for something refreshing.

Only one experience was a bit weird/awkward - a lady serving our table took it upon herself to grab our utensils and stir up our bowls of bibimbap even though we said we've had it before and knew what to do. I'm sure she was just trying to be helpful, but it felt intrusive and hope that doesn't happen again.

During this visit we also received some very watered down mild gochujang/bibimbap sauce and had to ask for a second dish of it to get the plate to the spice level we wanted. Not sure if that batch was generally just watery, or what happened there but it's something to keep in mind if you enjoy spicy food.

It was my first time. I loved the experience and food. Maybe more vegan varieties? Overall 10/10

This place is beautiful inside, clean and modern. The food is authentic and delicious! Tried a spectrum of dishes and each dish was of the highest quality. The best attribute of this place? The young man hosting and waiting. World class service and he joined in on the jokes. I will definitely go back with the kids very soon. Places like this in larger cities have lineups.

Seriously delicious food & attentive service. This will be on our regular rotation in Charlottetown from now on and has become one of our favourite restaurants in the city!

Delicious! Full order of fried chicken, so fresh and crispy. I had the rest the next day and even out of the fridge cold, it was still soooo good!

We had a really lovely dinner at Haru, quaint and clean little place downtown with the perfect amount of selection (not overwhelming at all). Service was fast and friendly and food was fresh and came out piping hot! We ordered half fried chicken and a bibimbap bowl. Both were definitely freshly prepped and good. The bowl came out sizzling hot with lots of fresh veggies, but not really a ton of spicy pork in it. Loved the crispy rice on the bottom. The chicken had a really nice coating and wasn’t greasy at all. Overall food is fresh and good, honestly could have had a touch more flavour and the spicy sauce wasn’t hot at all.

I keep meaning to try something other than Jeyuk, but it's too good to pass up. Phenomenal food, amazing service every time.

This is a great place to have Korean foods in a sense of the modern Korean culture. Foods are highly nutrient as well as delicious, and the restaurant is very clean and well decorated. My family enjoyed every food we had (cold noodle, bibimbap, dalgona, etc.) and wish to go there again.

This is an amazing restaurant with the friendliest staff. The food is authentic and homemade including the kimchi and sauces. They also fry a nice chicken.

We cannot wait to return the next time we come to Charlottetown.

Great value with large portion sizes! The half chicken wasn't too salty or oily, fried with a great crunch and extremely moist inside. Extremely aesthetic KFC. Staff was friendly and provided very quick and excellent service! Everything was delicious

This restaurant is a true gem in Charlottetown. I've been frequenting this restaurant for a while, got to know the owners and in true fashion this family took me in as one of their own. The food here is fantastic, serving up hot dishes on sizzling plates and hot stone bowls with a wide variety of traditional Korean dishes and more modern ones as well. The fried chicken is probably the best on the Island with its super crispy exterior and perfectly cooked interior. The heart and soul of local food lives here, as much of the ingredients are from the Island just in a different format then meat N' badaydas. Bring a friend and order a few things to share!

This is a must visit restaurant. If you're Charlottetown, you can't go wrong with this spot.

They have homemade kimchi. It's amazing.
Their fried chicken was so crispy and juicy. Best we've ever had.
Their bibimbap was bibim-on-point. *chef's kiss*
Their samgyeopsal (pork belly) was the bomb. The pork was delicious.
Their staff is friendly, and welcoming.

We're definitely going back to this place before we leave PEI.

Looking for a cool place to hang, with good food and attentive service? HARU is the place to go! As a newbie to the food scene in Charlottetown, I was looking for good asian food and was pleasantly surprised to see a Korean BBQ restaurant here! If anyone is looking for dish rec's, definitely check out their Japchae, bibimbap, the fried chicken (OMG) and their homemade kimchi! Honestly, I can eat an entire bowl of their kimchi, because it's that good! Trust me, do your tastebuds a favor and check them out.you won't regret it!

Great restaurant! We tried the fried chicken wings, Japchae noodles, Bibimbap, Jeyuk, Kimchi, and it was all delicious! Waiter was very engaging and attentive and more than happy to explain the different dishes and provide recommendations. Restrooms were clean. Will be going back for sure.

Best korean food i’ve had in a long time.
We had their fried chicken wings, pork belly, bulgogi bibimbap, and the korean rice cake.
Everything was fantastic, and like some other reviews said, it feels like having a home-cooked meal at a Korean friends house.
The restaurant doesn’t use MSG and everything felt very light/not oily - even the fried chicken which is so freaking good we’re gonna visit again before we leave PEI.

P. S. They also ferment their own kimchi and make their own ssamjang, both of which were so tasty and complimentary to the pork belly (the dish it came with).

Have ate out here twice in the last 2 month! EVERYTHING has been amazing and full of flavour! The waiter was so kind and explained the dishes to us as well as the story of the restaurant! Absolutely need to try this place!

EXCELLENT SERVICE AND AUTHENTIC KOREAN FOOD. We chose to celebrate my brother’s birthday here since he likes Korean food, we booked ahead of time and we were surprised that our table has a table setting and Hyeokjun was so thoughtful in welcoming us. We enjoyed the service here (it feels like we were in a fine dining restaurant that time) and of course, their foods are all great! My niece wanted to play Dalgona Candy as she was very excited to do it here but unfortunately, it is not available. However, Hyeokjun personally offers to make Dalgona candy for my niece as he doesn't have so much work to do at that time. After our meal, they gave us some chapssaltteok (Red Bean Mochi) that made us so so so full. Wholly I can say is the service that we got in Haru was held beyond satisfaction.
P. S. You will never forget their FRIED CHICKEN as it is the best in town. I swear! Ohh and you can also try their homemade beet tea. It's replenishing! THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE, Yoo Family!

Would give it 5 star if they had a lot dishes in the menu. Warm welcome and friendly staffs. Food was good and the ambient was great.

Best food I have found on the Island, and we have always had a positive experience in regards to service. Our definite go to restaurant for great food.

This is my go to restaurant for authentic korean food. Price is reasonable and it is a good value for money because all dishes are delicious. I especially love their Korean Fried Chicken. It tastes different than what I get when I order from fast food chains, its like visiting your friends house and their mom cooked you a fried chicken. Its different but in a good way! It will give u home cooked vibes which is awesome. When i tasted their korean fried chicken, i never ordered fried chicken from any other place.

You'll have a choice if you want the honey garlic sauce or the spicy sauce to go with it. If you don't like spicy, go and choose the honey garlic sauce.
As you can see on the pics, $34.99 is the whole korean fried chicken and there is, i tell you a good size of servings! If am on my period and feelin a bit lazy, i order the full size one for me and my bf, and we will still have some left for dinner and even for the next day. Lol we just heat it up, put it in airfryer and it will still taste good. Whahaha. Its also good for parties, just order 1 whole korean chicken and its enough for lets say 10 people, i have posted the pic so u can see and judge for urself:)
