I have eaten steak and ribs and wow! That was succulent! Nice place, great service. Ribs sauce is a must!

Food was good, service was very poor from our server, Kayla. Ordered an appetizer and two mains. All came at once. Kayla, our server didn’t have a positive gesture/attitudes towards me and my three other friends, but she had a positive gesture/attitudes towards the other customers in the restaurant.
We had no waters, no napkins. She served the other guests with a big smile and a positive energy, but a nasty attitude towards our table. As we are not from this country, could it be Racism? Discrimination? The only time she had a smile on her face was when she brought up the bill to us. With our kind heart, we gave her $38 tips when our whole bill costs $86. Won’t be going back to this restaurant anymore but food was alright. Thank you.

We had dinner at this hotel one night and went back again the next night it was so good. Food excellent, service great. Good location.

Fun trivia and great service. Food was tasty but hasn't been as good lately as it was a couple years ago, not sure what changed but the nachos and wings were a little too soggy

2 star for the becase the food is good.but some servers are pretty cold not sure the mangement is treating them well. We had a waitress who straigt up started arguing about something which we had already discussed with her supervisor. She wont stop whining about it even after that.she was lucky we don't have a karen in our group.

Slow service, seems to be due to lack of cooking staff. Chowder gone way down hill from 2 years ago. Beer selection minimal. Wait staff seem pretty friendly.

Service is fantastic, always a great atmosphere and great food and the have Barking Squirrel on tap.

I'd give it a negative star if I could.we asked for a table for 2 and the staff told us they have no tables available, which is totally fine.however when we asked when the next table would be available, they told us "we don't know when that would be" bizarre but okay so we asked if there was a waitlist we can put our name down for and got told "we don't have a waitlist and we don't know when the next table will be ready.we just do walk-ins". Um we were "walking in" in person? !? !

Hey Hunter's! Normally you guys are ok in my book, but last Sunday we were seated (2 people) by the hostess on the patio and then sat for 20 minutes before we stood up and left. You weren't busy. There were only 3 other active patio tables two of which appeared to be finishing up, and one or two inside the restaurant. We were never aknowledged. No one even noticed when we left, I'm sure.
Do better.

It was my first time in P. E. I and Hunters was suggested by a friend. The food was good but my experience was clouded by the service. Our server was irritated and short, granted they were busy but as a customer it's not my issue that they are busy. We we're more than understanding and patient. She dismissed our request for a drink among other things. It took 1 hour and 20 mins to get our food and we ended up leaving without our second drink because she (our server) just didn't come back. I likely wouldn't eat here again.

As a self-appointed fish n chips connoisseur, I eat a lot of it. This seems to be cooked a bit too long, as the end of the fillet was pretty chewy and inedible. Small beer selection. Good atmosphere though

I gave 2 stars because food is normally great here. This time I didn't get to enjoy my meal because of a super loud unruly child. Management did nothing to deal with it which resulted in the proprietor and myself coming to the mutual decision for me to never return here. I'm good with that. What part of "Ale House" describes a family/day care atmosphere for a dinner out?

Full disclosure - I didn't get to eat here. We waited at the entrance for someone to seat us. A server came by and in a matter-of-fact tone, told us "We don't have any seats available - and I can't tell you when we'll have anything available. You're welcome to wait. " No thanks. With this kind of customer service, I'd rather not give you my business.

Horrible service.
The waitress messed up the order 3 times and all we ordered was chicken curry nachos and sprite.

Very disappointing evening out with family. Our main waitress was rude and provided poor service. The amount of inappropriate behaviors is too long to bother listing. We waited over 1 and a half hours for pretty basic order, then was told it was our fault due to our choice of food. Others who came in later were getting food before us. Also one of our orders was not correct. The manager told us it was busy but there was lots of empty tables near us? Will never go back.

Too bad stuff they gave me a mistake order (with sauce I didn’t request) and when I asked to change they said no you we can not change, you have to pay for new order,
I will not order again

Waited over half an hour for our app and 45 minutes for our food, but the overall service and food was very good. To be fair, they were busy.

We made our way out to Hunter's Ale House this weekend and we got one of the last tables! Got some chowder to start because there's been some good reviews about it. It was great and definitely would recommend! The Fish and Chips uses Rickard's Red Ale in the batter and I really enjoyed that. Also, pictured is the Louisiana Fire Chicken Sandwich with an upgraded poutine. The jalapeños on the sandwich were powerful and a bit overwhelming but the gravy on the poutine had a nice meaty flavour and was a definite 10/10. We will be back! Great service.

Good food and large portions. If you are hungry this is a great place with a casual atmosphere.

Honey garlic wings are abit spicy but yummy fish was amazing, fries salty and the service and pricing were perfect

1st. Plate- orderd: A rare steak:
The steak was over well done
The plate and steak were cold.
The size of bear wasn't asked.

2nd plate_ ordered: Salad with fresh romaine & garden veggies with added grilled salmon filet
Salmon was overly fried with dark brown color, completely dried out.
Romain salad was looking like left out for few days and the cuts were all rusted (orange color on the cut edges)

Service not present for beverage or other needed items e.g.: salt, pepper, extra plate, dessert.
We wont go back again.

The price and quality of the food is ok. But it’s not good to offer a service you’re not able to provide. And to tell a customer he’s not being served because you’re to busy, for my understanding is a no go.
The first time I ordered the John Candy steak I was told it needs to be ordered 24h in advance, which I did the second time. But more than 3h after I ordered online I received a massage that my order can’t be fulfilled next day.

Good food, had the Philly, great atmosphere. Craft beer selection was 2, a few more would have scored a 5.

This huge one is also count by one chicken wings. Nice. And 70wings total only comes with 3 small sauce.

A denied request for a booth today, lost you a $80 plus ticket. My husband, daughter and myself arrived at 11: 20am for lunch. Asked how many in our part; 3. I requested a booth but was flat out denied and the reason given was they were saving them for bigger parties! Not that they were reserved for a specific group but just saving them for bigger parties. When dining with 2 other people, those 4 tops aren't big enough. Too bad, because I had Hunter's before and absolutely loved it! And we were a party of 2 and had a choice of seat. And yes, it was on a Friday, same time of day. Oh well, Montanas had no issue with the request of a booth! And great service and delicious food too!

Good service and food with customer attention and catering. This bistro offers the good taste, authencity and originality of Charlottetown.

Being treated rudely by a employee was bad but being told that the manger wont help made me feel sick

Food was good. Philly bacon cheeseburger was great. Chowder was a little over cooked. Friendly service. Would go again.

This place is a bar and a restaurant. The food is great with large portions. Reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly. Great atmosphere. At night they sometimes have live bands on the main level and different music upstairs with another bar. Located on a corner with 2 other bars so a great place to start or end the night.

People hunting inside shot me with an arrow in my birdy cat which caused quite a bit of uncomfortable pain. But I'll return someday!

Fun atmosphere. Power went out during the hurricane and they stayed open and opened a tab for everyone!

Best chicken curry nachos. You never get disappointed with the food over there. The only think could make it better would be a fast service. It took almost 10 min to get a beer and a glass of wine

Fair at best. Been here a few times and the people that show up are wanting to fight. Food is alright and so is staff, but its also big money.

The wait staff were friendly and checked in twice. There was a nice atmosphere. We ordered a hunter's size nachos which was good but very stingey on the cheese.most of it was on top of the pile of corn chips.

First, some of these servers were really indifferent to our being there. We always say thank you. Never any acknowledgement. Ok fine. Then I had the lobster roll. Don't bother. The roll was too big in relation to the portion of the lobster and dry as good be. No butter or mayo on the bread and it good really have used it. The amount of lobster was fine but I did want it on a roll but this roll was way to much. Overall experience.just fair.

Stopped at Hunters ale house during our travels home and I'm glad we did! Tried their famous philly's steak sandwich and it was amazing! Definitely going g back the next time I'm in Charlottetown!

Friendly attentive staff, stylish decor, family friendly, great value and The Best Pulled Pork Poutine in town for sure

Recently went for my first visit this year. Food was a bit disappointing compared to my last visit, and a few favorites were missing from the menu.

Great place. Had the lobster dinner for $27. Mussels were also good! Staff were very friendly and accomodating.

Very good poutine and portions are big! A little warning though: the gravy is very rich and deep in beef flavor! I love that dark gravy, but it might not be for everyone. Otherwise, a great spot that we'll keep in mind next time we're on the island!

The place is a bit off the beaten path but still close to the boardwalk. We learned of it from an YouTube video Good beer selection to begin with; many craft beers, plenty on the dark side which I prefer. We had unlimited ribs, nachos Mexican style and seafood chowder (came highly recommended) Portions are huge even before the “hunter size”! The chowder was excellent, nachos were just ok, unusual sauce on the ribs - a bit sweet, also just ok. Prices are average for the portions. Service was good and fast.
