Island Stone Pub

We LOVED this place so much our first visit we were really excited to return. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed. Atmosphere- fantastic, service pretty great but food was a bummer. My hubby didn’t enjoy his beer but his food was good, our appetizer was awesome but my steak was overcooked and had way too much sauce it took away from what an amazing steak should taste like and when I spend 30$ on my meal I expect excellent cooking.

Great restaurant. Suggest making reservations particularly in the summer. The smokehouse burger is my go to but it's all amazing

Every time we go, it's closed. One day hoping to try it. Website and online both said open. Thankfully, a nice Cafe across the path and we enjoyed it very much

Killing it in Kensington! Absolutely delicious food! The soup was divine, most memorable gravy I've ever had and the portion sizes incredble! Kathy, our server was a delight, super friendly, best smile ever! Only downside was that it was a bit loud because of being obviously a local fave spot. There were a a lot of fruit flies but this tells us that they use fresh locally sourced produce so worth the nuisance. If we visit the Island again we will be sure to return!

The old train station is a nice location, but we were near the door and it was annoying having people come into the door and stand right next to your table. The fish was good but not PEI good. The batter was a bit heavy and excessive. The burgers were excellent with loads of taste.

Food is absolutely amazing! Homemade chips and popper dip was definitely the best thing I've had in a while.staff is extremely friendly:)

Nous avons commandé des fish & chips et des burger pour emporter et c'était selon moi les meilleurs fish & chips à la bière que j'ai jamais mangé (j'ai 68 ans) et les portions sont généreuses.

You have to visit here when you are in Kensington, PEI. The food was amazing and if you walk into the old train station style restaurant you will appreciate the magic that comes out of that kitchen. Small space huge flavours. Compliments to the chef and staff! Service was top knotch as well!

I got the special last night (not on the menu)! It was a crab and lobster sandwich with fries and it was soo good! 10/10 recommend if you can get your hands on it. Our waitress was also super friendly. We had our dog with us and we asked beforehand if we could sit in the patio and they had no problem accommodating us and even brought our dog a dish of water.

Great food and atmosphere. However its a small space, i know many including my self who always feel rushed to finish up by the staff when there!

This place was absolutely fantastic. Excellent Caesars and the fish was amazingly cooked. Soo crispy and tasty. Will definately go back in a heartbeat! Just make sure to make reservations as it was quite busy.

This place is awesome. The service was perfect. The place was very clean. The food was awesome. Best fries I've ever had un a restaurant prices were were very reasonable. Do yourself a favor and go for a meal. That will be my go to place anytime I'm in that area. Delicious

Delishious, we had the lobster/crab sandwich special, fish tacos (some of the best I've had anywhere), and very good burger. Good beer selection and servers too.

Would not.could not.fathom how it would taste as amazing as it did. Their soup of the day "Dill Pickle creamy soup. " was a taste experience. Would I order it again. YES.

The fish was lightly covered in cornmeal. Outstanding flavour with the veggies.was that bruchetta?

The sweet potatoes fries were prepared to perfection. Crisp outside and tender inside. Normally I am not a fan of sweet potatoes fries.but I would order these again in a heartbeat.

While the Island Stone Pub is a beautiful venue (built into the historic Kensington Rail Depot), the food is hit-and-miss.

The proteins were alright, if only a bit dry. Their house-made kimchi is very off-putting, and out of place at an irish-style pub. Their gravies and sauces also were distasteful, and I found they actually overpowered the flavours of the dishes themselves.

It might be worth a visit, if you're interested in a historical venue. If you manage your expectations, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Wow! 7 of us ate here and everyones food was amazing! Not a single thing to fault here.best food we ate on the island all week

We were lucky enough to try this place on our trip to PEI. First off, it has nice vibe to it as it seemed to be an old train station in the past and that gives it a rustic and nostalgic look. We were immediately seated even though it was pretty busy and were offered drinks right away. Service overall was top notch and kind of casual so it feels relaxing to be in there. We started with the Kensington market salad and was refreshing, which included local produce. The fish n chips was by far one of the best I ever had! It was crunchy, big, and served hot that I had to order another piece because I couldn't get enough. We also had their classic station triple patty burger, the beef was local fresh beef and oh boy was it ever good! I would eat the patty by itself because it was so juicy and flavourful. The meals we had were served with PEI fries, which is a huge plus for me. I would give this place 6 stars if I could considering how good the food was and how reasonably priced it was as well. Would definitely recommend!
