Lobster On The Wharf Restaurant

I had ordered fish cakes, but they were not flaky and very bland. You couldn’t even taste any seafood, the worst fish cakes I have ever had.

I can't rate the food because I was not able to eat here, so that review is out. We were so disappointed when we showed up at 11: 15 am, right after the restaurant opened at 11 am. We were greeted with confusion as to how we got into the restaurant. The hostess did say they were open but had no servers? How ill prepared when there is a cruise ship and four tour busses of people outside of ourselves who traveled four hours to be here. We were asked to wait another 20 minutes until staff shows up. We opted to go to the water prince corner which was both open and amazing!

This is off the beaten track. Not many tourists it seemed.
The reception by an almost grumpy young girl was not good. She was abrupt to the point of rudeness.
But then Tony arrived to take charge, and thankfully we didn’t see her again.
We had the scallops, mussels and lobster. All were good, if not outstanding. Tony was cheerful, helpful and informative. It was an interesting evening.

Tried lobster poutine and Sea food chowder. The location is the best and the closest to the sea.

Our server Raj was absolutely delightful. Super friendly and very polite. Excellent portion sizes and beautifully cooked food.

Personally, this is a tourist trap. The location is nice however the food is overpriced and mediocre. The portions were small and our food was served cold. The wait time was longer than expected. We spoke to locals after the fact who suggested other restaurants that were reasonably priced and the food was great. (Would recommend the Merchant Man and Richards)

This place is just wonderful especially on a bright sunny day. The patio is on the pier and you can over look the water while drinking an ice cold beer! I had the lobster and it was fantastic! The staff was so friendly and polite, I truly felt like a valued customer. There a wee bit of parking out on front. The deco of the place feels like a rustic and wooden cabin that's by the ocean. A magical atmosphere to say the least. Probably one of the best highlights in food on my first trip here. Stay safe out there people and be kind to one another!

BEST fish and chips I have ever had in my life! And I am 57 lol! We have tried fish and chips everyday while visiting Eastern Canada and without a doubt this is the best! Thanks Chef Paul! Excellent staff, friendly and helpful

I ordered a Lobster Roll from here. It was the worst lobster roll I tasted on my east coast trip. It was either freezer burnt or over cooked. I couldn't tell but it was terrible. Worst part was that it was more expensive than other surrounding places. I would go back here since there are much better place close by.

Great food and so considerate of my allergies. It is always a struggle for me to find a restaurant that has options for me (I am allergic to gluten, nuts, pork, and seafood). The waitress worked so hard to make sure I could have an enjoyable, safe meal. Beautiful views of the harbor as well!

Please avoid! There are so many better restaurants on the island. This was SO expensive and very poor quality food. They served FROZEN fries.in PEI! Server was nice but took forever! Lobster roll was gross. All bun.

Great food, fantastic ambiance, amazing service - nice, typical friendly staff! Prices are a little steep, but you only get what you pay for.

Some of the dishes we ordered were great and some others, just okay. But the reason for the three stars is the speed of the service. It was actually not that busy (we visited at around 3: 00pm) ; however it took a looooooooooooong time to get our food and once we finally did, we still had to wait 15 minutes more (whilst our food got soggy and cold) for utensils or condiments we needed to eat that food with. Our server was very nice, but not very efficient. And food was good, but the wait does not make it worth it.

Had late lunch with friends who live here in PEI, had seafood platter. What a disappointment 3 small scallops, 2 skewers of shrimps (small), 1 small lobster tail. Food was cold and the butter was not hot. For $60. What a total waste of time and Money. Had better Seafood platter in Ontario. Try another restaurant.

Very tasty food, the portions are spot on, the service was fast and the server was very kind, will definitely be back!

Overall, everything was fine. Nothing exceptional either way. Expect a slow service though, so either being good company or bring something to do or read during the downtime.

You need to have lunch or dinner at this Restaurant.the Clam Chowder is to die for.the fresh biscuits.and the bacon maple butter to go on them is amazing.the prices are great for being on the Island. Please enjoy your meal on the water.a 5 for me.hope you enjoy.also a fish market attached

Great service and amazing recipes. Had a great lobster poutine with lots of lobster and cheese as fish tacos that were unique but well done.

We sat at our table and no one came and gave us water or took our order for 25 minutes. When leaving, the manger asked if we love our meal. We left telling her we never got served.

Mussels were too small, and the service was not the best. We wanted to eat outside but they placed us inside. I insisted to go out and a lady told me that it was cold. I still insisted and she asked me if I had a coat. Believe me that it was not needed, the day was very nice.

Travelled from BC to PEI on vacation. Went to dinner here tonight and unfortunately did not have a good experience. Our server GIGI though polite just wasn’t really there. She didn’t come back to check on us, had to ask other passer by servers for things. Ordered the Lobster mac and cheese, Lobster poutine and the Lobster and Crab dip duo.
The duo dips were the best very tasty. The other 2 dishes something was wrong with the lobster. Have been eating Lobster at various places for 5 days straight every day. This was not good lobster. The mac and cheese right on the first bite turned me off as it was very “fishy” same with the lobster poutine, everything but the actual lobster bits were good but each bite of lobster meat that came into our mouth was “very fishy” Fresh lobster should not taste like fish nor smell like it. We know our fish. We were quite disappointed and left all the lobster bits and ate the rest and just got out of there.
Location was great with nice views. I just wish the lobster tasted better.

It was rough times. Had a reservation for 630. Sat and wasn't seen for 20 minutes, didn't even stay, family of 5. Another table there before us wasn't seen. Was really excited to try it also but just wasn't there day.

We were accommodated on a very busy night which we were grateful for with two young children. It was evident that they were extremely under staffed but that didn't stop our server GG from providing amazing service. She was friendly and was very gracious to our 3 year old daughter who is quite chatty. She checked in often and offered her advice on the menu.

My husband got the lobster Mac and cheese and said it was great and they were generous with the lobster. The lobster roll was well received by my mother as well. I got the crab cakes and I wasn't a fan. The spices over powered the taste and I found them grainy and dry. I wish I had chosen something else. We shared the salted caramel torte and didn't really like it either. Save the calories.

Had decent expectations of this place as the reviews seemed good and we also had a 45 minute wait since it was very busy. Positives - the view was amazing, the fish and chips were good. Negatives - chowder was grainy, service was VERY slow (including our server leaving in the middle of taking our order to serve food to another table - she was very friendly but it was obvious that the place was short-staffed, everyone seemed a little frazzled), crab cakes were hard and overcooked and the spices overwhelmed any taste of crab, the potato salad was soupy, veggies were steamed green beans and very bland. We were surprised that the price of the lobster was the same as other restaurants but didn’t include a starter (chowder or mussels). Overall, it was overpriced for not the greatest quality.

Attended here the other day for a lobster roll. I took it as take out but ate it outside the restaurant. It wasn't flavourful at all. Very bland. I won't be back.

The patio view and friendly staff could not be enough to balance the incredibly lengthy wait times for food and the subpar food quality.

We got the oysters which were okay; delicious and fresh, but kind of wimpy in size for what they were.

We got the fish tacos and while the haddock was alright, the taco itself was overloaded with cheese and lacked flavour save for a kick of spice from the sauce.

Was it the worst meal in the world? No (the potato salad side was actually quite good).

But would we go again or recommend a friend to go? No.

Summary: One star for the patio. One star for the staff. And no stars for the food. You have so much potential to be more Lobster On The Wharf!

Unfortunately I had a bad reception by the old owner, I think he was having a bad day I don’t know but after I meet the new owner oh my God, she is amazing and her husband was super friendly and he makes the best he could to find our spot in the best view that’s he could. Amazing food, taste is simply delicious. O will be back for sure.

I have been to the Lobster Wharf on numerous ocassions. Last night was a very disappointing experience. I had the lobster roll and was very disappointed. It was on a hot dog bun and no flavour and tasted no mayonnaise on this roll. My friend had the lobster poutine and commented that the lobster had no flavour. Totally didn't understand since the lobster season just opened. We asked the server why no flavour and he mentioned the lobster was kept in the oven. The service was excellent.

Myself and my partner ate here last week. Even though my full lobster was cooked to perfection my partners meal was horrible. Her steak was tough, and smelled. Clam chowder was runny. Roasted potatoes were dried out. Salads were not homemade thats for sure. There was no one else in the restaurant so this should have been our warning sign. This restaurant had great reviews, so this is why we went. We would not recommend and will not go again. Maybe it was a happening place before Covid, but it sure isn't now.

Saw David Suzuki here. Food was pretty good. Staff was super nice, too. Loved the back patio that has some great views while you eat. It gets chilly out there in the evening, but the restaurant had blankets and hot chocolate.

We decided to try the Lobster at this restaurant since their marketing is good (advertised on every single PEI brochure) and absolutely not disappointed. The lobster is spectacular, they will provide all you need to enjoy the food, recommended to try the clam chowder as well (be aware their medium size is actually small size and the large size is.actually large ;), bit pricy though. Free parking, outdoor tables, a lobster market where you can have your selected lobster shipped to your home, good cooked lobster, the staff attention, etc. Worth the visit. Recommended

Nice outside tables in the evening. Service was ok. The seafood portions of the meals were good, but not great. The sides and non seafood portions were a bit disappointing.

Freshest lobster we tasted on this trip, cooked to perfection. Seafood chowder & lobster poutine was also delicious. Our server was great. However, we waited over an hour to have food delivered to our table after waiting 15min to be seated and ordering. That was a Tuesday night so i'm assuming all summer nights are equally busy.

Our first stop on PEI and it was fantastic! My husband got the lobster roll and compared all other potato salads to this one. My mussels were good, slightly overcooked.

Crab cakes should be described as fish cakes that have some crab. They are very tasty though. The halibut was way over priced for what it was and should be described as breaded and pan fried because that is what it is. The side of potatoes that came with it were so cold they didn't melt the butter.

This place offer your very own choice of seafood combo platter which was amazing and absolutely delicious. Our server was hilarious and engaging which added to the fun of our meal. And oh yeah.the view of the harbor ain't too shabby either.

The main differentiator among other restaurants would be the outside seating right above the sea, which is amazing - great area to enjoy the sunlight with cool breeze. The food was ok - we ordered lobster bisque (not good), seafood platter (which was decent but average), and fish n chips (which was surprisingly good).

Food was not well cooked, and cold. We did not want to make a big deal, so we asked to have it heated up. The food came back still cold. We spent over $350 for our meal. I must say, NOT worth the money.

Had lunch here with my adult son the other day. It was a nice experience and the food was enjoyable.

The lobster was quite pricey (market rates) so we split one 1 1/4 lobster and fish and chips, and it was enough food for us. Service was ok, but no better than that.

It was a nice experience but not one I’d be inclined to repeat.

Definetely no complaints here. The service, the food, the drinks, all great. This was an amazing stop on our trip to PEI. Plus getting to sit in a room surrounded by windows with a beautiful view of the warf! This is a highly recommended spot from me!

I ordered on the patio under constant assault from wasps, I ordered a combo meal with 5 bacon wrapped scallop, 10 shrimp, and a strip steak maybe 8 oz.if that, With a small side Cesar.
The presentation was as expected except the steak was not even warm for being cooked medium well, a little tough for that. It was not seasoned and lacked flavor and I wasn't offered any steak sauce etc, also the onions and mushrooms were also cold and lacked flavor even after adding pepper. The scallops were not worth the price either as they were cooked ok but again served too cold and undersized, could say it was sitting somewhere awhile, bacon wrapped it still lacked any flavor even with bacon wrap. The shrimp I was also shocked about, it was cocktail size just slid into a scewer, I couldn't tell if they were even cooked as they were cold also as if a cocktail shrimp with additional cocktail sauce, not that great at all, again literally no flavor like a frozen cocktail shrimp would be.

The server noticed I was fighting wasps but just said good kill as many as you can to help out, lol and never offered to move me or offer assistance, or help me.just brutal, and after all that I just worked with the salad which was rubbery like it was the only thing that received heat lol. Again the Cesar lacked any flavor just very bland.
I eventually received a bill for this mess $76.46! I'm one person and the server didn't even look at me when the bill came. He just added all items as full price as sides with no discount like the combo should be. It's ridiculous! I even gave them a tip after all this for some reason and will never return to this restaurant ever again! I recommend not going here! As it seems they just take advantage of the cruise ship passengers and don't really run this place professionally as a reputable restaurant! I could go to the keg for a steak, then red lobster for all you can eat shrimp and have change left over compared to this bill. Plus the food would be 10 times better!

Terrible experience. Went there with my mom to try some PEI seafood. First of all, the servers did not have a great attitude, no smile and slow. Secondly, steamed clams were not fresh, two out of a dozen were dead before cook, which brought smelly taste to all. And I told the waiter the problem, he just said "Sorry about that" and without any solution. Until I saw the bill with 10% deduction on the steamed clams, which is like a dollar and something. We also ordered a steak, I requested median rare but it came with a way more tougher texture, hard to chew. And last thing, the FLIES were so ANNOYING! They were flying towards people and food, kept distracting us from eating and not clean at all! Won't come back and won't recommend anyone to go!

On our first visit to this restaurant my wife and I enjoyed fresh lobster claws and salads with white wine on the warf overlooking the marina. A really nice place for a full meal or just a light lunch. The history of the local lobster fishery is portrayed on the walls and entrance wherever you look. City maps are available for free as well. You gotta eat outside to really appreciate the scenery of Charlottetown harbour and marina. Make sure the sun is shining and you won't regret it. Service was great and our waitress (Kelsey) was friendly and helped point out places to see in Charlottetown on our visit. Can't wait to get back there and try out more seafood offerings at this place.

Ended my trip out east while eating our last meal here and I would say that it was a big mistake.
All our food was tasteless and terrible. The soup had no flavour and was missing salt and pepper. The oysters weren't shucked properly which left sand in them. The Burger was terrible. Calamari was tasteless.

The only reason for 2 stars was that the waiter was extremely nice and professional. You can tell he knew the food wasn't good as he probably asked us about 10 times if the food was good.

Sadly, I wouldn't recommend this place.

I had a very lovely meal here but it was marred by having been seated in a room that echoed badly and where we had to endure the sound of tables being dragged somewhere to the extent conversation was impossible. It made for a good tasting meal that was not conducive to lingering over. Service was good though.

2 lb lobster at the Keg in Vancouver. $58.00.2 lb lobster at Lobster on the wharf in Charlettown N. B. $59.00. Go figure!
We ordered them anyway and they were grand. Great location and service. My 87 year old mother tied into one with a vengeance, claw cracker flashing.she didn't come up for air until it was almost done! Bread Pudding with a brown sugar sauce is excellent as well. Lovely lunch!
P. S. The waitress talked us into trying the liver. Although we were somewhat hesitant, we gave them a go. They tasted like the fresh ocean smells.fabulous. We were very appreciative for the recommendation.

Excellent restaurant de fruits de mer. Le homard est délicieux, les moules et la poutine aussi. Les serveurs sont très courtois et friendly. Si vous pouvez, prenez une table sur le quai, l'ambiance est vraiment intime et romamtique et vue sur la marina. Probablement le meilleur resto de fruits de mer.

Very good costumer service and very tasty food! You can tell the people works here with passion.our waiter Dave was so nice and friendly and very attentive! The receptionist was very nice too, when My folks complained about being too cold inside coz the AC was blowing right in our table so I asked if we could move outside and she right away check her table set up and moved us outside with a nicer view of the ocean.:) I was a lil disappointed for not getting a crab leg (my inlaws were craving for crab legs as well, we were lobster out that day! Lol) coz dave our waiter said, they don't serve snow crab/crab legs anymore since the demand isn't that high unlike lobster. They tried serving crabs but it was so sad nobody order them so they had to throw them away!: (
SO I just order the crab cake with rice pilaf and veggies and it was the most tasteful/yummy crab cake I've ever had! Their food is great and service is good so overall, we are very satisfied.:)

Fresh seafood, good service, and great company was what I wanted and what I got for the most part. As a group of four adults two of us ordered the lobster bisque. The other two ordered appetizers. Consensus was the bisque was a little thin and flavour just slightly lacking for our taste however copious amounts of lobster chunks made up for it any disappointment. The lobster claw appetizer and was delicious and well worth the cost. The crab cakes were also a huge hit. Our lan lover had a steak - about average. Two of us built our own trio player and other than cost due to what we order extremely happy. The last had the halibut and again was extremely satisfied. Portions were good and prices were market rates.

Lobster and scallops were overcooked. The coleslaw and potato salad were drenched in mayonnaise. Fish tacos were flavourless with fish that tasted not so fresh. One of those touristy spots that don't need to try

Worst food I have ever had I spend $44 on a meal that had to literally not touch, should have known when they brought us the driest bread roll I have ever seen, other people sat down then left, avoid by all means, there are much better options in Charlottetown

The food was disgraceful. The chicken was so dry and overcooked, I had a small piece of gravel imbedded in one of my potatoes and the dessert way overcooked and dry. With no cream or icecream. Would never recommend
