I try shopping local to support our community.but I just can't do it anymore. Independent has become the place I go when I've forgotten something on the list.

The pricing is astronominical, even higher in tourist season so we, the community, suffer and have to pay higher prices. I stopped in for baby cereal the other day and the price on the shelf was $5.29, however it rang up at $6.49 and I was basically told "well that's what it's coming up as" instead of honoring the advertised shelf price. Ontop of the crazy prices here what really made me stop shopping here was the fact that 8 out of 10 trips my bill had errors. Tomatoes being priced higher in the computer than what the sign says, aforementioned baby cereal, yogurt was in the flyer for $2.99 and had the sale sign up but when I got home I was charged $5.49 for it. This was on a Wednesday which is the last day of the sale, so either they reverted the price back too early or for the entire week duration of the sale had been charging everyone full pop. Not really sure why this seems to be such an issue with this store especially because almost every time I had gone in, I saw an employee with the scanner scanning products to ensure they are properly priced. I really don't understand why this store just can't seem to get it right. I also notice that alot of times you really have to dig through the produce to find fresh stuff, especially the stuff that doesn't sell very often. $5.49 for a 1 lb bag of parsnips that I almost caved and bought to make a stew until I was looking through all the bags and they were brown and mushy.

Very frustrating, so much so that I now spend the gas money to go to Charlottetown or Stratford. Sad because my 5 minute grocery store drive has now turned in to 50 minutes.

If these issues get fixed, I would gladly ammend my review and shop there again.

I went shopping there today nice little store nice people but the quality is poor I bought a celery stalk and had to toss our 3/4 of it because it was bad the price is comparable to back home but I figured that I wouldn't have to toss none of it into the garbage I would have gave them a 5 stars but lack of quality from what I seen I can't honestly give them 5 stars I heard shoppers complain about the price and its their own fault for voting for the liberal party. I know what I'm talking about as im a truck driver and with the liberals carbon tax so people shouldn't blame the stores they have to blame themselves and the liberal party they voted for.
