Spend 2 hours here and you won't regret it, a superb historical village with helpful staff

Absolute highlight of our trip to PEI. Authentic village with an astonishing number of farm, household, and general store artifacts. Very knowledgeable staff in period costumes. Plan for 2-4 hours. Buy the 6-site museum pass.

The village itself was quite interesting. The buildings were well equipped with period specific items. There were only a few people working there and not one in each building to be able to give you the history.

We were very disappointed about the booking of the "Bread and Butter" experience, which was $40 per person. We called ahead to book based on the description on their website, which included "a visit to the field to harvest some grain with a scythe and bring a bushel back to the barn yard" as well as "milking the goat at the milking station. " However when we arrived, there were bowls of oil and water, yeast, and flour set up in the Hall for us to mix. When asked if we would be harvesting the wheat and milking the goats, we were met with a laugh because "it's not harvest season" and the goats hadn't given birth yet. We had planned our whole day around attending this experience, and had our child very excited about it. It was disappointing that for $40 a person all that experience provided was mixing basic store bought pantry ingredients. We were able to get a refund. But, as a caution, I would not recommend booking an experience.

My family and I loved the village, food was fantastic, especially the cinnamon buns, super friendly people, wonderful farm animals especially the turkey in which my daughter interacted with so well.

I love this place! Step back in time and learn about how things used to be done. Loved learning about spinning wool into yarn. Kids enjoyed the water pump and all the animals.

Not a big place, but authentic with knowledgeable staff. Recommended for ages 8+ kids. We got to play with baby animals!

For the most part it was a very nice visit. The staff were very friendly, especially the boy in the school and farm. But the service at the hall was terrible. We went there for a bite to eat and the young lady that served us was very rude, and was on her phone while serving us. It also took 20 minutes for a cold sandwich! I will not be returning.

Fun experience! Although, we went towards the end of the day so there wasn't much activity going on. Kids loved visiting all the animals (especially the goats!) Staff that was there was knowledgeable and friendly.would definitely visit again!

Lovely, peaceful. Friendly and informative staff. Very well behaved livestock running around. Cute little activities to do. I enjoyed it thoroughly and it rained the entire day. Can't wait to go back next year, hopefully on a sunny day!

Glad we stopped here only flaw to me was I would have liked to have seen more info on the old farm machinery as to who donated it.

Always an amazing experience! Orwell Corner is the perfect place to experience early Island history and the lifestyle. The staff is wonderful and personable.

Stars because the kids enjoyed it. The village was cute, didn't learn a lot about it because the staff seemed like they did not want to be there. I'm guessing because it was not at all busy this season. One buddy really, really wanted to teach us how to make candle wicks. He was very sweet.

We always stop here on our trips to PEI. It's a welcoming little historic village and the cast is super knowledgeable about how things used to be in days gone by. My nephew is very curious by nature and he was asking the shop keeper lots of questions, and she didn't skip a beat! Stop here for a quick look back at history!

What an amazing experience, definitely a place to visit, we watched the blacksmith make an iron hook out of a straight piece of iron. Visited the store, saw the schoolhouse and listened to the stories. Children were feeding some of the animals on the farm. The staff were amazing and welcoming.

Not a village of re-located buildings, but an actual Historic Village with ORIGINAL buildings. There is an agricultural museum too. Well worth the stop.

Un des plus beaux lieu historique que nous avons visité. Le personnel est parfait, gentil, attentionné

Walking through the past with this quaint little village. It would be similar to the times and days of " Little House on the Prairie ". The museum is full of history and artifacts. Very well kept Historic Village.

Having Traveled the Maritimes for the last month, and PEI for the past week, I rate this as absolutely one thing not to miss. Make sure to see the video shown before visiting the grounds, live accounts and video of what life was truly like for the early settlers.

Great little gem. The people are friendly and knowledgeable and interesting. George is fascinating, the blacksmith is talented, the other actors all know their role and describe their stories with passion, and the Mi'kmaq interpretor is informative. This wasn't our destination, but we stopped on a whim and it was definitely worth it.

Village pittoresque avec sa vieille école, son magasin général qui servait aussi de maison familiale dans la partie arrière. La personne qui nous a reçu à cet endroit, nous a même dit avoir fréquenté la vieille école.

I really enjoyed this place. I like the interpretive center before walking through a 'living museum' with costumed staff there to share the history of the village and province of PEI. Also have an indigenous staff member sharing stories and songs of the local First Nation. Well worth the drive out. Hopefully you'll experience the short horse and carriage ride as well. The place is very well done.

We didn’t plan on going here, we were on our way to Cavendish beach. But this was something to do. It cost $15 per adult, kids were free (ages 16). We went through the Anne of green gables house, which is based on the books and descriptions of what the author wrote. It was neat to see the old artifacts but since it was fiction it was kind of a waste of time for us. We hiked through the “haunted” forest, also not worth it. If you wanted to see where the author actually lived, you had to pay more $. On our way out, we gave our passes/stickers to 2 other visitors to save them the $.

This place is simply fantastic. I went with my wife in September, there wasnt very many tourists when we visited but every attraction was up and running the staff are well equipped and ready to answer questions about the artifacts in each cabin. Including a church, school house, general store/home/seamstress. A shingle mill working farm and a blacksmith. Very cool to see how people lived in the 1800's kids can also buy candy from the general store

Beautiful spot to visit! The cutest little town ever. We almost never went but I'm so glad we did in the end. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the giftshop was small but had some really beautiful items!

Worth it. Located near of Trans-canada highway makes it easy to go. The village is actually a real one and not artificially made of fake buildings or moved ones, it was alive until the 1980's, cemetery is still there. Part of provincial museums network, you can buy the PEI heritage passport and save. Buildings are well maintained (trading post was being renovated), staff is knowledgeable about history and play their roles perfectly. Forge was working during our visit, other shops weren't. Farm has few animals and community building has working kitchen serving cookies and cinnamon rolls.
