PEI Roti

The food here is incredible and the family who owns/runs it are one of a kind. They truly put their love into the food, it tastes authentic and delicious, and they treat you like part of the family. Will go back every time I'm in town!

I had never imaged eating authentic roti on PEI and to my delight it is SO YUMMY! I can’t get over how the doubles tasted just like they did in Trinidad. I got spicy chicken curry roti (recommended) and the spice level is perfect. They’ve managed to capture a smoky, earthy, warm spice, more than just generic hot seasoning. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. If you need a taste of Caribbean/Indian food- check this place out. The owners are fabulous as well and treated me as an old friend:)

Wow! Looking to enjoy some truly flavourful Caribbean and Indian food while in the Summerside area, look no further. This is where you need to be, your tastebuds will thank you.

This take out spot has some of the best Jerk chicken and curry plates on the island. Really it's the little things in the food that sets them apart, some spice in the rice, some cilantro here and there, three kinds of tasty chutney on your dish. Plus the owners are super nice folks, and they only collect cash tips to donate to local causes (So no POS tip ask, just an old fashioned. Tip jar with money going to charity.) In today's underflavored and over-tipped world it's nice to get great food and see change go to the community for a change. A+ this is our new take out spot.

Their Butter Chicken is absolutely amazing. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it

Roti are plentiful in Toronto, but not so much on PEI. So when a friend told me about this place, I had to try it when I was in town. I had the chicken curry roti and it was deeee-licious. I'm very picky about the dhalpuri, but it was so good and so fresh. And the owners are awesome, friendly people. Will have to try more from the menu next time I'm in town again!

Best place to eat in summerside! The owners were so friendly, kind, generous, and honestly just adorable. You can tell they are so passionate about the food they make and they even did a little ‘reveal’ and showed us what they added to our dishes! My mom and I visited together and we are both celiac/lactose intolerant/have ibs and struggle to find good food that we can eat but pei roti did not disappoint. Most of their options were gluten free and lactose free and the owners were super conscious to swap certain items so that we could eat them. Everyone should try this place at least once, it’s probably the best service I’ve ever had!

I’ve been here a couple times and absolutely love the food. The owners are very helpful and nice, they show you what you are buying and guid you through the menu. I’ve eaten at similar restaurants many times and this is a new favourite for sure. They give a large serving of food and it’s very filling and always enough to share. The customer service alone is amazing and the food is always affordable. I will recommend this to anyone who loves Indian and Caribbean food

This place is the real deal: authentic, fresh and tasty. As spicy as you like. The owners are awesome folk who take great pride in their work and give back to the community too. A real gem in Summerside.

Favourite restaurant in Summerside. Best roti I've ever had and the owners are very friendly. Do yourself a favour and get the jerk chicken roti with some spice! Delicious

Been there couple of time and tried their snacks and curry chicken with rice. Both felt amazing and the taste was so homely. Please continue to make the food with that.

Had PEI Roti this evening for dinner. Hands down the best customer service and food. Even our 1 year old ate the lentils and rice! Will definitely be going back soon!

Found this spot while in PEI for work.
It's hard to put into words how great of an experience this was.
The staff was super friendly. We talked about some of the charities they donate their tips to while I waited for my food.
The food was next level. I took my plate home and was blown away by the flavor and quality of food.
Can't wait to be back to PEI so I can eat here again!:)

Amazing service by extremely friendly and talented owners. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone that has not tried it. I will definitely be going back, I have been there twice so far and tried multiple menu items.

Since moving to the island I have missed roti and doubles. Today, after 15 months I was able to enjoy some of the best I've had! The owners are the sweetest people, food is amazing and fast service. Everyone should try this place out!

Delicious authentic food, and very friendly service. The restaurant is incredibly clean as well.

Their butter chicken & jerk chicken rice were delicious! The owner was very sweet and friendly, and the store was quite clean and tidy. Take-out only, but the wait wasn't long.

Super super delicious - I went with my Trini boyfriend and he approved too. Doubles were a highlight, soft bara and perfectly spiced Chana. YUM.

The food was lovely and the service was great.

Caroline and I were visiting Access PEI but stopped in to PEI Roti for a bite to eat as it was noon when we arrived in Summerside.

We ordered the onion bahji while we waited for our lunch, and while I wished it had more onion in it, the texture and flavour was great.

Caroline ordered the Jerk chicken naan-which and I’d ordered a Tikka masala chicken naan-wich. We were given some hot sauce on the side, some tamarind sauce, and a wee bit of pickled apple iirc.

Caroline loved her jerk chicken, and I certainly enjoyed the tikka masala, although it was very similar to the obsequious butter chicken that we all know and love.

For the Tikka, I was hoping for some dark meat mixed in, but it was a lovely sandwich that I’d be happy to order again.

Caroline and I took the down to the waterfront and sat on a picnic table enjoying our lunch and the view.

We plan on trying the roti next.:)

UPDATE:
Two days later we had some business in Summerside so dropped in for lunch. This time I ordered the Butter Chicken Roti and Caroline had the Jerk Chicken with rice.

The butter chicken roti is served on naan Roti, and she spiced mine up a touch to more of a medium at my request. I really enjoyed the meal, along with another Onion Bahji while we waited.

Caroline thought the Jerk Chicken less than medium hot, and figures that you have to flat out request spicy if you want it hot.

She did share a bite of her samosa with me, and I could tell there was some cumin mixed in with the mashed potatoes. It was very nice, but I’m still a fan of the onion b. Lol.

I’d like to try their curried chicken next, on Roti or naan-wich.

Wow. So good guys, friendly bros, nice smells, authentic spices, overall great. So enjoyable i highly recommend to all and pick up a pretzel next door after too!
